Great episode. Merder was really enjoyable, after 2 Seasons of boringness. That was a really cool episode and I'm pumped for the next. Bailey, Meredith and Maggie in the OR was one of my favorite things. Calzona looks like baby steps towards each other? I don't get why Arizona ran away in their scene, that was very weird. It's like Callie wanted to say or do something but Arizona was gone?! I'm confused. I just could live without Amelia and Owen. Jesus christ, like school children. Kill that pairing already, I want more Japril instead.
This wa probably one of if not the least interesting episodes the show has had and the ending was not climactic so it should not have been there. It was one long yawn
I am just here to express how fond I have become of Maggie. Man, I really like her character a lot now! Hope she sticks around. And she pulled a Yang tonight in there! Optimism for the win, ha. It was like the first time that I actually felt she was worthy of replacing Cristina as a cardio genius/god.
Do not really care as have been watching show since episode one and know better. This episode stunk. Let's see, Richard is made to to look like a doddering old fool repeating how the day began. Meredith and Arizona are shown having a brief moment of upset in trauma. A bunch of uneventful babies are delivered and a couple is operated on from which the male is still not clear if he wakes up. Meanwhile, the residents are leaning stuff they should have learned as interns when they were sleeping with their attendings and calling Meredith Medusa that the Hospital is owned and operated by a group of attendings one fresh out of residency because they won the money suing the hospital for a plane crash. Something about sleeping with your boss makes most of this moot, especially when your boss is the chief and your brother was in the plane crash. Stephanie slept with Jackson who slept with Lexie and studied under Mark. Jo sleeps with Alex and lives with Arizona. Christaina drove back to the hospital to sleep witha nother Resident. Ben is sleeping with Miranda. The only one lightly new to the hospital is Maggie who researched the hospital before coming to take Christina's place so she should have known that Sloan Grey Memorial Hospital was named after two dead doctors. Let's face it the fact that the Board is made up of very young doctors should be a tip off they had to get rich in a hurry. But none of this moved the season or the overall series along by rehashing it. Wow, Arizona now knows that Alex amputated her leg, like it matters who did the cutting as opposed to who authorized the surgery, (Clue this was a minor event on HOUSE MD so it should be a minor event here.) The fact that Owen and Amelia can not get past the boss/ worker thing is last week repeat, again not going forward. At the end what you have is Meredith making a missing person call on Derek that you spent an entire episode not learning what happened after he got out of bed in the morning, wasted time. Seriously, next week it will be like this episode never happened. Richard will not still be telling the same story. Maggie will be no closer to Meredith. The patients will have been discharged. Jo will still be sleeping with Alex. Stephanie will still not have a specialty. Ben will still not want to be considered part of the Plastics Posse. Amelia will still be horny. Owen will still be frustrated. They will never have touched on the fact that the only reason he is not married to Christina is the lawsuit. Arizona and Callie will still be separated. AND OH YES, they will still be talking about how much better next week's episode will be as if to apologize for making you watch a week of filler. Suprise I can use caps as well but it does not make me more authoritative. Actually having watched every episode and knowing the truly great ones tells me when I just wasted an hour waiting to see if Derek can live up to the the song title they are revisiting "How to save a life" which personally I believe has a high bar after the season 7 episode 18 sing along to beat. Derek used to start surgeries by saying "It's a beautiful ... to save lives" as can be heard in the original episode "Superstitions"season 2 episode 21 where the song comes up. Of course that show begins by killing 4 patients and talking about chocolate juju and surgery caps, but the superstition of Derek is that saying. The episode include the fact that Richard turned alcoholic because of Ellis. Meredith was treating a stalker that episode who would not allow an operation before midnight. It is also a Denny episode which is where the song begins when Burke kicks Izzy and Alex off the case. As much of what was in that episode effects the show still that is how you judge a good episode from a bad one. Do not dis the juju from wherever it comes of the opinion of one darker and twistier than the best writers this show has ever had. Now dance it out. Seriously....
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Oh God, poor Meredith and Arizona. The episode hurt immediately and the end didn't help matters much either. OH SHIT, THIS MIGHT BE BAD.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't rational but I thought they were going to pull a Ghost Whisperer all episode and Richard was going to turn out to be dead the entire time.
this was intense. brought back a lot o memories.
ReplyDeleteIt was sad watching how everyone learned Mer and Co. were on a plane crash.
Owen had feelings buried deep inside. Poor guy, he must've felt like shit.
What's with Derek being missing? the writers are trying so hard to scare us that he might have died or is terribly injured.
Man, watching this made me go through PTSD!
ReplyDeleteOMG Yes! I thought the same thing about Richard as well! LOL.

I'm glad that Alex told Arizona that he cut her leg ... I was wondering when it will come
