I resent that remark. I watched it and it was awful. I voted awesome for last week because it was a great episode. This one . . . . was not. Deal with it , bub.
I didn't think it was bad. I liked the case, creepy though the ending was (and I kinda suspected how it'd turn out in the last ten minutes or so, but that didn't make how it wrapped up any less horrible, and there was some good tension with the team trying to talk the unsub down, too). Like stated, some people just vote "awful" for the hell of it, 'cause they're bored and apparently don't have anything else to do with their time (not to say that's the reason EVERYONE votes awful, of course, 'cause it's not, but it is the case with some). I also sensed the ending of the episode as a whole would lead us into next week's storyline, but my stomach still dropped anyway, and the promo only made me worry more. Those poor girls... I'm already feeling so worried on Kate's behalf. If there was one main complaint I had, it's that I'd have liked the episode to touch on what happened to Hotch last week. But I figure if they do address it, it'll be more in depth next season. Good episode overall, though.
I liked this season for the most part. It wasn't perfect, no, but there were a good number of episodes throughout, I think. To each their own, though. *Shrugs*
Still 0 links to watch online I see. Hey guys what was so bad about the episode???
I must confess the promo for next one doesn't do much for me :p "the stunning season finally" I love the show but we'll see.... at least JJ finally tells them she's pregnant :)
as for previous episode: I knew there wouldn't be a followup. Honestly, it's like one of these horror movies that has ominous ending and there's never a followup to it :p episode while interesting seems likely done for shock/horror value, I don't think there'll be a continuation of it, sorry.
Really bummed about the ratings but I've enjoyed the episode. I totally spoiled myself in the morning when I couldn't found *ahem* a way to watch it, so the big twists were totally spoiled, still, I enjoyed it. This episode feels a bit familiar isn't it? scenes with a family just to discover in the end the guy killed them ("Normal" v2 haha)
Anybody else get a feeling that Shemar is leaving? or AJ? or JLH? lol it just the way the episode played with JJ mentioning missing Henry (though that's probably because of the upcoming reveal of another pregnancy) that got me a bit thinking (worrying! lol), then there's Morgan I can't really explain but it really gave me a feeling he might be leaving, and then there's JLH and thinking Kate would be too worried/guilty after this to be at the BAU. I can realistically see them write her out now. What you think?
also, I don't think JJ knows she's pregnant, because with the way she went with Morgan and Reid to take down a mentally unstable Unsub with a shooting overkill..well, yeah, she can't possibly know that would be too weird O_o (not to mention that adorable carefree running, heh) and if she really doesn't I truly wonder how she find out.
Gotta admit that I love that there was a lot of JJ. Before you give me weird eye, I don't think she had an episode since 10x11 and the final two episodes are probably the last we're gonna see of her for a very, very long time, so it actually makes a lot of sense to me.
Can't believe Meg with her FBI aunt will get caught like that lol girl what were you thinking? nobody told you not to go with strangers? trust your instincts? we'll see how exactly that ends. I'm sure she survives (what about the friend though?).
CM had been a lot of heartache and quite disappointing but I still hate these ratings. Hopefully it raises big time next week!
People might be disappointed with the lack of Hotch, he was barely in it. While I enjoyed my fav. character getting a lot of screentime I think they could have still found a way to have some more Hotch (also maybe they're disappointed with Reid not talking out that Unsub considering his experience).
Anyway, idk you guys, I agree with you it was an overall good episode. Despite spoiling myself with the storyline completely before watching the episode, despite the profiling not being what it used to be etc. I found the case interesting and quite a creepy!
Meg really should have known much, much better. We'll see what happens next week. I'm sure she survives (100% sure) but what about her friend? and she'll be so traumatized by this that's for sure.
As for Hotch I knew it wouldn't have a followup. I was pretty sure at it. It was done for one episode to shock/creep and then I was pretty sure it would be gone. Kinda makes me think of horror movies that end with some ominous ending and never get followed on it. We shall see if it comes up somehow in future but not holing my breath. (isn't the only MGG episode to get some followup is Lauren? and it's a huge Emily episode/storyline so makes sense)
It wasn't awful ...not awesome either ... I really like CM and this one was good... And I was very pleased to see Joe Adler again... From Willie in the Mentalist to that psycho is such a great step...
Could be it, perhaps. And ha, I actually had thought about that with Reid, and wouldn't have minded him doing that :D. But the rest of the team has become pretty well-versed in how to handle people suffering schizophrenic breaks (possibly in part due to seeing how Reid's handled it over the years alongside any usual training they had with such things), so eh, well. But I'm glad we're in agreement on the episode :). I did like JJ playing a big role throughout-I liked her giving that woman a ride and trying to help her out. And like you said, the case was kinda creepy-obviously they've had schizophrenic unsubs before, ones who've suffered delusions at that, but I like how they tied it into how he chose to commit his crimes, in that he thought he saw people in danger or thought people wanted him to kill a "threatening" person when they really weren't. I thought that was interesting. She definitely should've, yes. To her credit, she did show some hesitation, and an innocent-looking woman driving up in a van and claiming to be their friend's mom...it's a good ruse, unfortunately, that even the most alert person could possibly be fooled by. I know somebody wondered if her friend would be killed, and I seriously hope not-the show has had children die before on cases, yes, but since this girl's a friend of Meg's, and it's especially personal...that'd be a really depressing note to go out on for the season case-wise. So I do hope they can both get out all right. And yeah, this'll definitely be a traumatizing experience, no question there. Especially since, as the promo implies, they're being sold to serial killers. Yikes. I didn't expect a big follow up, no-only two episodes left in the season and the Kate storyline would be happening, so obviously that'd get the focus, but I wondered if maybe there'd at least be a, "How are you holding up?" moment or something. Unless the ENTIRE episode happened to be a really surreal dream he'd had, which could explain that? Something to send in as a question to the people at TV Line, perhaps, for them to ask the writers/showrunner over the summer :p? Now that you mention it, yeah, I don't think there's been any follow up with any of the other episodes he's directed aside from the one you note. Otherwise they've all been standalone sort of deals. Hm. Interesting.
According to an interview with Kirsten that came out a month or so ago, JLH is planning on leaving at the end of this season, 'cause of her baby and all. But she also said AJ is expected to be back next season :). I recall her saying in that interview that they may have to do a little workaround with her in the first couple episodes or so of next season, as when they're shooting those over the summer she'll obviously be on maternity leave at that time, but they do want to try and find a way to incorporate her even with that going on, so we'll see how that pans out :). I haven't heard any rumblings of anyone else planning to leave lately, so I'm guessing that means we'll see everyone else back next season :D. I certainly HOPE so, at least. And if that is the case, and if JLH is leaving, then I'm kind of hoping the show will just leave the remaining six members be next season, instead of try and introduce yet another new member. This late in the show's run, that may be the best route to go. But if they need a lot of people in the field, who knows? We'll see, I suppose.
According to Kirsten's interview JLH leaves.. from Zap2it: 'The cast is safe. Rest assured, "Criminal Minds" fans. Series regulars [........] and Jennifer Love Hewitt (Kate) aren't going anywhere' then, there's Shemar's instagram's post from a week ago that starts with: "NEW LOOK for The Next Chapter of my life n career.. Letting the hair make a comeback and scruffin out!!!" what am I supposed to believe? lol I can see Kate logically leaves, it makes a lot of sense after the Meg stuff, but can't help but feel somebody else does too. Hell, that episode made me think for a moment maybe AJ leaves lol (with the way JJ talked about being away from Henry, how she's gonna work when she'll have another? um..) really, I have bad feeling. If JLH leaves then so be it, but please can we have the rest for at least one more season? and no replacing the replacement that replaced the replacement of the original XD like yeah, no, if Kate leaves let the team be instead of letting fandom cause havoc to another actress and having to try get used to again. Really not sure how they're gonna work out AJ's pregnancy lol gotta wait and see really.
Reid would have been the perfect/most obvious choice...which is why I guess I'm kinda happy they didn't went with Reid ;) (hell, would Morgan/JJ even let Reid get by the door after last season's final?) idk I mean you know he could do it, I'm sure he'd do it just fine, it just seemed a little more challenging this way. Glad you're not annoyed about that. Reid still brought great insight to the episode IMO & I'm sure it made him think back on his mom a bit.
LMAO this episode doesn't seem very popular ;D I'm glad JJ got a big role...she didn't and won't have a centric episode in a long while and we're not really gonna see her for a while so I'm glad she got a bit emphasized in this. Her moment when pulling up with the car right away made me think of Mayhem 4x01 lol and I'm no accents expert whatsoever but hey, is that some Canadian slipping? ;) anyway, JJ taking the women on a ride was very sweet (well and smart way to gather information) JJ talk of Henry add to that her carefree running gosh, she really doesn't know she's pregnant lol I hope we gonna see how she finds out, but we'll likely just see her tell Reid without us knowing how she's knowing. RIP mailman ;) I agree with you regarding the Unsub, it was interesting.
You know, I wouldn't wanna take that chance even if she looked imposing..but well, I think Meg is literally half my age and you're right, she did hesitate but was pressured by her friend and ignored her instincts..regarding Meg's friend - that's not true. She can die and then after Kate goes all the way to Paris to kick some ass and bring Meg back she ends up meeting her favorite singer being all giggly completely forgetting her best friend was murdered :D whoops! that's not the movie haha. Anyway, no, I agree it would be really really grim and depressing. Both of girls being traumatized is bad enough. Being sold to serial killers? I know this fiction but WHAT? lol seems from the promo Kate doesn't get to be in the field but we shall see.
Sorry girl, I didn't and don't think we'd get a followup. It seemed so obvious to me they'd just put it there to try freak fans out and then be over it lol classic CM-MGG directed episodes...I guess O_o (though also fits horror genre if you ask me) and you know I guess he was kinda shaken for a bit but that's about it. I don't think there's much more to it. I'm gonna save a question so I can nag about them about *you know what* later ;D you can ask about the Hotch thing, but I really don't think they'll revisit. Hopefully Haley's dad issue will be dealt with more.
I think with the whole "The cast is safe" thing they were mainly referring to the fact that nobody on the team was going to be in the kind of danger they were last year. That's how I read that. And depending on when that statement was released, they may not have heard yet about JLH supposedly leaving-aside from Kirsten stating that there haven't been any official press releases about that yet, and I wonder if they're not waiting on any possible official statements about cast renewals until after next week's finale, in part because I think CBS' bulk show renewal announcements are the following week, so they might just mention all of that then alongside renewal information about the show itself, and possibly just to help keep a little suspense regarding the finale, too :p. But who knows? They didn't make a public statement about Alex Blake leaving last year, after all, and yet she did, so... Can't comment on Shemar's comment on Instagram, though (not on there, myself). Maybe he's got some other fun side job lined up that he's going to do alongside the show? It would be rather entertaining for him to be sporting hair again next season-when was the last time he did that, season 1 or 2 :p? Unless somebody really wants to blindside us with news of their departure, though, I have a feeling we'll see the remaining six members next fall :). Yeah, I don't know how they'll handle everything with AJ's pregnancy, but I hope it works out to the show's, and the fans', satisfaction :D.
LOL, good point about keeping him away from the door! Even I was sitting there thinking, "Reid, if you know what's good for you, you'll stay as far away from that door as possible." :p. But yeah, I would've liked that, it would've been good, but I'm fine with someone else taking the lead on that every now and again, too :). And you're right, he did play a good role throughout as it was, and no doubt appreciated his friends' attempts to try and keep the unsub calm and play into his delusions as they did. This is true! She will be resting up for a while, so yeah, best to let her get in her good action moments while she can (and you could definitely see her showing a little more throughout the episode, too :)). That scene did have a "Mayhem" vibe to it, yeah! And I didn't even catch the way she spoke there, now I'll have to listen again :p. I forget sometimes she's from Canada, LOL. But yeah, I know fans have talked about how they like it when JJ talks to the victims (or their families) in a compassionate manner, so it was nice to see her doing that here. She's very good at that. And it's nice to be reminded that they're there to keep these people safe at any time of day or night. I hope you do get the kinds of scenes you want next week regarding her pregnancy :). I'd wondered that when she was running, too-good exercise, though, anything to help keep her pregnancy going all healthy and whatnot, so hey. Oh, god, yeah, that poor mailman! I really felt sad on his behalf! I wouldn't, either-but then again, I wouldn't have snuck out to meet somebody without my parents knowing about it, too :p. I was not exactly a rebellious teenager in that regard, LOL. I don't know if I know what movie you're referencing there-I want to say, 'Taken'? But it's been ages since I saw that, so I don't know :p. But ha, that'd be quite the twist for sure! I imagine they'd want to keep Kate back because they don't want the stress to affect her pregnancy. But if I were in Kate's shoes, I'd be like, "Hell, no, that's my niece, no way am I just sitting around!" Hm. Probably. But yeah, that sounds good. You can ask your question and I'll go and ask mine :D! Hopefully they can give you a good answer for yours!
I remember an interview a while back with Shemar saying he thought he'd stay for 10 years and then do something else. Of course he said that years ago. I'm hoping the six of them (Hotch, Rossi, Morgan, Reid, JJ and Garcia) stay together for awhile, without any additions.
Well, since we're at SpoilerTV and all ;) after the "aren't going anyway" it has: 'Messer says "no major deaths" will happen in Season 10'. So you know, you really have a point, that could very well be what safe is. Didn't say the whole team would be intact and come back. Zap2it article from April 15, Kirsten's is April 9th. So...what are we leaning towards now that Kate/JLH is leaving? it would make sense with her pregnancy (I guess) as well as the plot. I just fear that someone else does too. When the final happens it would be pretty clear if and whom is leaving...no need to wait until upfronts for that, it will be mentioned on the show if someone is leaving and then addressed in an interview after I guess (like regarding Jeanne). They might be holding it off trying to keep us in suspense/surprised regarding the episode. Anyway, one week left to finding out!
I don't follow Shemar's Instagram it was just brought to my attention by a friend...and then there's this: "Last day of shooting, Criminal Minds Season 10...it is amazing it has been 10 yrs of me bringing Derek Morgan to life... THANK YOU for your loyal support and love for all of us on this show" (posted 2 weeks ago) and then Kirsten's tweet (April 17):"Been two days and I already miss you (@ Shemar's tweeter name)". Yep, my mind goes crazy with all of this. Regarding the post, oh idk. I know he had hair in the earlier seasons and could just grow it back again, I guess you could be right and he can have a fun side job (I think was mentioned some months ago he'll make an appearance again on The Young & Restless). I just can't help but fear that he's leaving. Maybe it's just my head feeding into the rumors that he's leaving that I see/read it that way lol right now I'm obviously worried. (from promo): "The stunning season finale no one saw coming" gee thanks, creepy narrator guy for making me more nervous lol idk, idk I really hope you're right!! *fingers crossed* Kirsten, AJ, Thomas, MGG, Joe and Shemar must stay until the end.
Yeah me too! gosh it's so weird AJ knowing she's pregnant and JJ looking pregnant and yet being completely clueless haha :D
Shemar's interview (Sep 10, 2013): http://www.iamrogue.com/news/interviews/item/9678-iar-exclusive-interview-shemar-moore-talks-the-bounce-back-crowdfunding-and-justice-league-war.html despite my fears I really hope we get the six back and if JLH leaves I hope nobody replaces her. While the team should have more females on it, people just being mean and abusive to whoever comes. Let's not have a 3rd year of that and let the cast be and focus on them for final season(s).
Haha yeah, I really can't see why they'd let him negotiate next to the door seeing all that happened last time (btw despite him not being near door bullets still flied EVERYWHERE lol surprised no one got hit somehow). It could have been really great and made a whole lot of sense to have Reid do this, but I thought it was an interesting change (yes, I might be quite biased saying that lol). And he did very much contribute still.
.... you know, maybe the plan was to have Reid negotiate and seeing dead mail man and such, realizing just how crazy and dangerous the Unsub is Morgan&JJ took the lead? umm... yeah, well said. I'm sure he appreciated them trying to talk the guy out rather then bait him and shoot him in the head. Hell, I'm surprised they managed to get him alive tbh.
Indeed :)) really like how much JJ was involved in this (and oh my, the short but sweet press release! :D) oh yeah, she was showing lol :))
it absolutely made me think to 4x01 I'm not sure why lol I guess kinda the way she pulled over and idk played out. Gosh, that hooker is smarter than Meg, taking a ride in a BAU car vs. taking a ride with a complete and utter stranger you have no idea where is from/true intentions :P Meg is a kid but still, haha I just realized the contrast of the two scenes. I hope you re-watched that scene ;D like I said, I'm no accent expert but I think her Canadian was slipping. ('alrighttt I just wanna help you'). LOL you forget she's Canadian and I keep thinking how many actresses I loved are from Canada lol
yeah, I love it when JJ talks to victims and/or their families and showing concern/care. That was a pretty beautiful scene now that I think about...from mother to mother and assuring her nobody takes her kid away. "And it's a nice reminder that they're there to keep these people safe at any time of day or night." indeed.
Thanks hon! obviously JJ doesn't know she's pregnant (and gained baby weight lol) I really wish we'd see how she realizes. I mean how exactly she find out? we'll probably just see her tell Reid out of the blue though. I really liked the JJ&Morgan running but at the same time I gotta say I was a little worried for the baby. I didn't know if it was safe doing but apparently it is. What a really cute scene isn't it? and she beat Morgan XD
you go one day to deliver a mail and BANG! get killed by a schizophrenic who's delusional and think you're out to get him. Poor guy indeed.
Haha so we're both know better. Even as a teen I think I was pretty aware. And yesss! I meant Taken! lol haven't seen it in a while (have on DVD though) but it had one ridicules ending, haha and yes, I can't help it this episode/story makes me think of Taken (I think Kim was hesitate with the stranger and her friend convinced her it's fine to let him know where they live and they're alone and such and hold it! Bryan was an over protective father who has a CIA background or something? oh I feel this movie strong with this plot. Meg better not be freakishly happy after her ordeal!
Ha, yeah, exactly. I wonder if Kate will eventually get involved in the action or just be there for Meg when things are safe and they get reunited, seeing how she faints I suppose no one let's her in on the danger.
I need to ask my question next season or something but you go ahead with yours :D right back at you, I hope you get a good answer.

They need to just let Gubler direct all of next season and then just maybe he can bring the show back to it's former glory. This season was crap.

ReplyDeleteLMAO this episode doesn't seem very popular ;D I'm glad JJ got a big role...she didn't and won't have a centric episode in a long while and we're not really gonna see her for a while so I'm glad she got a bit emphasized in this.
Haha, yeah I think Lauren is the exception.
ReplyDeleteCan't comment on Shemar's comment on Instagram, though (not on there, myself).
ReplyDeleteThis is true!
But if I were in Kate's shoes, I'd be like, "Hell, no, that's my niece, no way am I just sitting around!"
Hm.
ReplyDeleteWell, since we're at SpoilerTV and all ;) after the "aren't going anyway" it has: 'Messer says "no major deaths" will happen in Season 10'.
ReplyDeleteI don't follow Shemar's Instagram it was just brought to my attention by a friend...and then there's this: "Last day of shooting, Criminal Minds Season 10...it is amazing it has been 10 yrs of me bringing Derek Morgan to life...
Shemar's interview (Sep 10, 2013): http://www.iamrogue.com/news/interviews/item/9678-iar-exclusive-interview-shemar-moore-talks-the-bounce-back-crowdfunding-and-justice-league-war.html
ReplyDeletedespite my fears I really hope we get the six back and if JLH leaves I hope nobody replaces her.
ReplyDelete.... you know, maybe the plan was to have Reid negotiate and seeing dead mail man and such, realizing just how crazy and dangerous the Unsub is Morgan&JJ took the lead? umm... yeah, well said.
