I honestly don't know what to say. I really thought Mills would stay. I'm not sure I want to keep watching this show anymore. My two favorites are now gone.
I love this show but mills leaving was just as devastating as Shay dying. I do believe the show has some loose characters meaning they don't bring anything to the cast but I still love them all. They should definantly give every character a storyline since Mills is gone.
I'm sure this is an unpopular opinion but I'm not sad to see Mills go. I liked the actor but IMO, they ruined the character by not only making him the best at everything he did but he also was undecided about what he wanted to do. Fireman, rescue, police officer, restaurateur? I'm glad he finally made a decision and I'm sure he will be the best chef in the history of chefs because that's how Mill's plays.
Ooo mills.... I so don't care... I half expected him to decide to go to med school so he could join chicago med. you know, cause he's amazing at everything...
I can't believe they actually wrote off Mills. The episode felt very emotional because the goodbyes all felt so real. Sylvie breaking at the end made me cry. Also, Kelly's voice broke a little when he told Mills he's proud of him, did it not? It can't be easy saying goodbye to such an important cast member and I know I'll miss him A LOT.
But wait. Didn't the actress that plays Mills's sister get promoted to a recurring role? This whole Mills leaving the show feels like such a red herring...
I wondered that about his sister, too. I definitely think Mills is gone, though, because of all the tweets the cast sent out and you could really see the real emotion in the goodbye scene at Molly's.
Yeah, the tweets make it feel real, but then, promo departments of shows learn how to use social media to manipulate the audience... I just don't know anymore.
Well, I wouldn't be heartbroken either way, as Mills is far from being my fav, but If it is true that Mills "moved on to greener pastures", then I am really sad for all his fans and I wish Charlie Barnett all the best in his future career.
BTW, as for the storyline that I'm actually interested in... I have mixed feelings about April again. Didn't really like that she's always had a thing for Severide (although it seems plausible) and her just leaving now... It's just strange. But the girl sure knows what she wants and she gets it... Also, all that almost-black-tagged, life-threatening-injury"... completely healed in two weeks... *face!palm*
Sylvie made me cry, too! Did you read Kara Killmer's tweet? It sounds like she really misses Charlie Barnett. I know I'll miss the Brett/Mills partnership a lot. And you're right, Kelly's voice did break. It was so sad.
I don't know where to start.... The episode WAS AMAZING...script was funny, emotional, sad kudos Derek Haas & Michael Brandt.
BUT...MILLS LEAVING??!! after last week's promo I was hoping that it was just a phase... it actually happened & I'm still in denial :( I mean Shay ( a main character) was killed off...now Mills? He was not on my top 3 list but Mills?? H e brought so much to the show, he was an amazing character, Charlie is an amazing actor. CF was never the same without Shay & it will never be without Mills. I just cannot figure out why he had to be sent off (without Charlie even asking). Creating a storyline is fine, but writing off a character is cruel :( I sure hope this will never hit Severide or Casey the least, because then I would be a HUGE MESS.
Don't get me wrong! I love this show (it's my fave atm) & I'm not going to stop watching it... but the most loved character are being written off just to write a storyline & it's killing the fans :(
Charlie Barnett posted that it wasn't his choice. I want to know why these writers would write out Mills and keep Otis, Cruz, or Mouch. Then turn around and make his sister a recurring character? I don't like it.
I generally don't believe what they say on twitter.
What I can believe though, is the way the showrunners talk about how it was a creative decision and the such. Now, THAT convinces me that Mills is indeed gone from the show.
And, for one, I am happy that we will get a female character replacing him, because ChiFire really needs more main-cast females. As for whether it could have been one of the other guys, like Cruz or Otis... I don't like pitting one character against the other and since, as I said, I wasn't very fond of Mills, I probably shouldn't talk.
I don't understand it, either. When I saw Charlie Barnett's tweet, I got really upset. I don't know why they would choose to write off such a wonderful character. Mills had so much story left, and I feel like we were cheated. Chicago Fire will never be the same. I just hope Charlie Barnett lands an amazing role soon.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteLoved it and loved April and severide scenes

ReplyDeleteWhat nutbrain is responsible for getting rid of Shay and Mills and leaving Otis? Just what does his character add to the show?

ReplyDeletePeter Mill's sister Elise played Katie the witch in two episodes of "The Originals" during season one right ?

Charlie Barnett wrote that he is not on CF anymore and there are future worlds and roles for him...so I guess this is the end of Mills :(
