  1. I didn't need my heart anyway. Felicity crying has destroyed me.

  2. Nyssa lives. That's all I care about.
I do wish there had been a more one on one fight with Nyssa and Pod.
She does not deserve to be stuck with Pod Oliver.
Pod Oliver just gave Oliver's natural asshole soul reason to shine.
Baby Diggle is just too adorable.

    "I kneel before no one."
    "I am not afraid."

  4. Kinda diggin the whole bad ass look on Oliver. Shocker....not....that he has to marry Nyssa. (I think the Arrow writers need to work with the Flash writers especially the guys that wrote last nights episode). Finally the flashbacks are making sense and tied into the current storyline. Only 2 episodes left😭

    ReplyDelete
  5. No, thankfully. It looked really close for a few minutes. My heart dropped once.

    ReplyDelete
  6. good, as long as Diggle, Thea, Malcolm, Lance and Nyssa make it I'm fine

    ReplyDelete
  7. Not as good as last week, but setting up for some wacky hijinks in the next episode... what exactly do you wear to a forced wedding between ninja assassins?

    ReplyDelete
  8. The most disturbing thing on earth: Olnyssa ... even their shipper name is shitty! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  9. Nysiver????

    ReplyDelete
  10. Lance was MIA, Diggle and Nyssa were the best. Thea had a truly great moment I think you'll like.

    ReplyDelete
  11. So many feelings...the new intro broke my heart. I want to believe Oliver is faking but that seems so unlikely at this point...ah, my brain hurts.

    ReplyDelete
  12. yesss, I'll catch it tomorrow, not going to spoil myself any further. Thanks ^^

    ReplyDelete
  13. YW. I was just worrying about spoiling you too much.

    ReplyDelete
  14. ONyssa and I will get drunk if I have to watch that mess.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Get ready to be emotionally scarred for life and outrageously angry.

    ReplyDelete
  16. didn't care for that much the brainwashing storyline and felicity basically crying all episode long and I couldn't really hear so what was with diggle dying at the beginning.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm really disappointed that everyone gave up on Oliver. I know he wasn't himself and that's tough to take, but I just find it really difficult to believe Felicity and Thea of all people would be talking about getting on with their lives. I was hoping they were there plotting and scheming. I guess they still could be, and I'll be pleasantly surprised if they are.

Also, Malcolm's working with Ra's again, isn't he? He's going to offer to help the team and then betray them in Nanda Parbat, is he not?

    ReplyDelete
  18. SPEEEEEEDYYYYYYYY!!!!!

Everything else was Okay. The writers need to decide what the hell they're doing with Laurel. You can't have her nearly bested by a street thug in the same episode where she holds her own against LoA members.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Okay. :( But thanks for the warning.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Well the fact that he tried to kill John and injured him show how much he was brainwashed in a short

    ReplyDelete
  21. Wow that was a good episode

    ReplyDelete
  22. This episode was very hard to get through. I hated it. Not only did I have to stare at scenes I didn't like, but I had to stare at my beloved characters in pain and it started with just one sentence....

"My Name was Oliver Queen." WAS?!?! I had to go back and rewind that to make sure I heard that right. Then they changed the label to black!!! That was just the start of it. You know what? I'm just gonna concentrate on things I liked.

Team Arrow having dinner. Felicity feeding Sara. Diglicity scenes. Lyla getting the guns from Felicity's coat. I really do love Lyla. Nyssa standing up to Ra's. Felicity and Thea's scene. Their last scene was a breath of fresh air. I'm glad Thea knows about Roy. She hasn't known for three weeks that killed me.

BTW THREE WEEKS REALLY??? YOU TOOK AWAY WHO HE WAS IN THREE WEEKS?!?!?!?!

You know what, I can't do this. I hated this episode. I hated this episode. A lot. And I don't have the strength to comment. Screw this. This episode sucked. And congrats fanbase, you were right about the ritual.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Nyssa is really becoming a great character . When Thea shot Oly StoneHeart with an arrow to the forearm I was totally on board with it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I would think that's why they'd try to get him back. I mean, it seems like they eventually will, but...IDK, it just disappointed me. They've known and loved this guy for three years.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Good one. And even shitty-er! ;-) It is at least fitting for their relationship. I mean they are not even both heterosexual!!! That is going to be one horrible wedding night. But I guess one good thing came out of it. Malcolm is officially not the worst father in the universe anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  26. You ever hear the expression..."That sucked donkey dick?" Well, if you haven't. You have now.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hahahaha...Appropriate.

    ReplyDelete
  28. We got comic book Ra's mass murder

    ReplyDelete
  29. It is not bad. It is worse.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes, alcohol will help. It softens the blow.

    ReplyDelete
  31. so if I skip this episode and instead do sign language in a corner, will that really impact my viewing next week?

    ReplyDelete
  32. in the comic he a eco-terrorist I predict there will be some fan complain about the fans too much like Batman begins because of the promo

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yeah. That happened.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thanks. (Tips hat to you).

    ReplyDelete
  35. Who cares it makes a good story

    ReplyDelete
  36. I sure there will be some twist.....because Batman begins did not start Ra's being a murderer the batman TAS did

    ReplyDelete
  37. I didn't like it. I can't wait to have real Oliver back. I liked Nyssa and Laurel together. And Thea shooting Oliver was good. But I can't stand brainwashed Oliver.

    ReplyDelete
  38. nah, you probably already predicted the important bits same as everyone else.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Fucking finally ! A fucking good episode ! Sorry for those two words but damn ! It was something worth watching. It's been a while that I felt that way while watching "Arrow". I was getting disappointed episode by episode.
Anyway back to "Al Sahim" :
    1) Oliver : A changed man. No more a Queen but "Heir to the Demon". THE million dollar question is : Is he really brainwashed or he is faking it ? I personally thought that he wasn't until he kidnapped Lyla and injured John. I'll be damned if I was wrong at the end lol.

    2) Nyssa : It was really good to see a different, normal Nyssa it gaves us a sneak peek of what she could have become out of The LoA.

    3) John : Oh man, the feels ! T^T My heart broke for the deep relationship between Oliver and John.

    4) Felicity : RIP Felicity's heart. You're going to have to be strong for what is coming girl.

    5) Thea : Really loved her in this episode.

    6) Laurel : Nyssa and Laurel's friendship was something interesting and fresh to see. For the rest (Black Canary's training), she has a lonnnnggg way to go because the fight scene between the thief and Laurel was kind of meh.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Well Ra's is my second favorite batman bad guy as a batman fan i dont mine using this story green arrow doesnt have good bad guy lineup

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sorry Carrigon. I have nothing to say. The tears that flowed down my cheeks speak for themselves. I'm turning my attention to.SPN right now. I can't talk about Arrow tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Olyssa??? lol I'm going to use N/O because it's just a big NO in my books. But that's just me

    ReplyDelete
  43. Loved it. All you people crying about Batman he never joined the League like that.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I am loving this Oliver I mean yeah sure eventually they will bring back the good no killing Oliver but I would love to see this Oliver for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I have to agree. I really want to see Oliver like this for some time.. well at least as long as possible

    A) It would feel way too contrived if he goes back to being 'good' too easily. And Im still not convinced he is as dark/bad as people are typing or bemoaning. Like Maseo showed in Fallen, you cant give up your past despite all the speeches you make to the contrary. Your past gives you in this case: your combat skills, your reason to fight and your life goals.
    B) It gives other characters who dont normally get as much story or plot a chance to shine
    C) I loved the 'My name was Oliver Queen'. Best change in opening for some time!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Also Karl Yune does not get enough Credit for his screen time in this. Sure he never really gets a lot of scenes (and lets be honest, when Arrow leaves the LOA storyline behind we might not see him again he hasnt got a lot of time to impress) but I really think in his one on one encounters we get a lot of choice angst which comes over well.

    ReplyDelete
  47. as in we already knew what was going to happen so whats the point?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Well, if you liked him it would be a problem. I guess you're supposed to hate Al Sahim. Just saying xD

    ReplyDelete
  49. well, you have 1 1/2 episodes to enjoy it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yessss!!! Jajajajajaja It was a good episode but hell predictabe xD

But i got lots of Thea/Felicity so that was good. Wasn't expecting that...

    ReplyDelete
  51. oh, do they actually "talk" to each other this episode?

    ReplyDelete
  52. What I dont get is why none of the leaguers went after Felicity. I get that they have a code but that is just unbelievable. Laurel had to fight off two people and Felicity none. I'm not saying Felicity has to fight someone alone but just hit someone from behind and help your friends if they are down like Lyla or Laurel.
And please dont tell me the reason why Felicity was off limits was Oliver. If Oliver was so far gone to kidnap a woman and leave her child unattended then he doesn't care about if one of his leaguers fights Felicity.

    ReplyDelete
  53. honestly in all truth Felicity shouldn't have even been there

    ReplyDelete
  54. He was stabbed through the chest and kicked off a mountain. His death lasted for less than one episode.

I wouldn't count on them committing to this either.

    ReplyDelete
  55. No. Just no. *smh furiously*

    ReplyDelete
  56. no liking Al Sah-Him for you?

    ReplyDelete
  57. I see why she was - she was hoping to get through to him.

    ReplyDelete
  58. AL SAH-HIM YOU PSYCHOTIC SON OF A BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he is completely a League member, wow Nyssa has been afraid of Ra's her entire life, i didn't expect that and DAMN IT!!!! i really thought the plan would work.Thea shooting that arrow was so AWESOME!!!!!! and that was a VERY good, has she been an archer this whole time and she just didn't use a bow and arrow? i'm so glad Felicity told Thea Roy's alive!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Maybe they exchange daggers instead of rings

    ReplyDelete
  60. no THEA should've been the one to go, she knows the League and she's not a fighter

    ReplyDelete
  61. LOL or maybe brand each other's face on their body

    ReplyDelete
  62. but did it at least scare you at how MALEVOLENT he is?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Is there something more with Malcolm and the earthquake machine? Knowing that the new Ra's has to destroy his hometown, was there some point when Malcolm believed he was going to be Ra's successor and then wasn't for whatever reason? And the whole blood debt business was not real?

I know this doesn't quite make sense with the story that's been told thus far, but Malcolm's working some kind of angle. I'm certain he's back with the League now, I'm just wondering if there was more to it than that at one point.

    ReplyDelete
  64. No. It jjust pissed me off.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Yes, brands could be involved in the ceremony.

    ReplyDelete
  66. They showed her having trophies of archery in her room in season 1, so she was always good at it I think.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Thea HAS to be the one to bring him back and my goodness you're right, Al Sah-Him doesn't care about his former life so why he help Barry. It's still that the shows aren't in sync with each other and it seems like they're not going to fix it anytime soon

    ReplyDelete
  68. oh right, i guess i just thought that more a... i don't know but that shot was the shot of an expert archer

    ReplyDelete
  69. Is there a good way?

    ReplyDelete
  70. i guess what i mean is do you like the storyline because you ARE supposed to hate Al Sah-Him until Oliver Queen comes back, or do you think the show screwed the pooch on that one?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Only characters i liked in this episode were Nyssa and Laurel. All 40minutes of this episode i wanted to punch someone (Felicity,Diggle,Oliver, Ra's). Diggle's excuse for letting Nyssa die was really bad since i am pretty sure Lyla's killed lots od people too. And I am 100% sure that Ra's is an idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Probably not but I would still like to see it. They should let this Oliver continue onto the next season if they turn him back good just after two or three episodes what's the point in even doing it.

    ReplyDelete
  73. It's just a double standard. Laurel who had much more training was sometimes sidelined because she was inexperienced and would put the team in danger even when the threat was minor but Felicity can attend a meet that was always meant to start a fight yet nothing happens to her. She was gone from the fighting but the second it stops she is there again. Its hard to believe.
And this has nothing to do with a Felicity vs Laurel thing.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Felicity was so damn annoying this episode. Her whole personality is nothing but an Oliver obsessed broken record. I loved Laurel this episode and her Canary Cry. That was an amazing moment. Finally something interesting is being done making Oliver the villain. Its a new dynamic.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Thea was there - and shooting him with an Arrow while dressed in costume. That's the best way to try to break through to him IMO. And I don't see why Felicity going there and trying was an issue?

    ReplyDelete
  76. i don't know Thea seems more reluctant than then the rest of them, maybe it's just me

    ReplyDelete
  77. so was that a red hood?

    ReplyDelete
  78. If it means anything, I really do think that the wedding is a bait switch. I don't think it'll be the one that's followed through. I think that it's going to be Thea/Roy getting married because Arrow DID film in their usual courthouse location at one point in the final few episodes...

    ReplyDelete
  79. Best episode this season!!

    ReplyDelete
  80. so is Thea staring her journey into becoming Speedy?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Felicity should have. Besides Thea and Diggle as well she is the closest to him.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Actually yeah. Like the way I was pissed at Oliver for taking Lyla. Or my anger at Thawne and Ra's.

    ReplyDelete
  83. less than that, he's helping Barry with Zoom

    ReplyDelete
  84. i get that, only fighters should've been there, it IS a little hard to believe that the League would leave Felicity alone

    ReplyDelete
  85. because it could've and it DID turn into a fight and she was invisible for the League

    ReplyDelete
  86. so is Thea staring her journey into becoming Speedy?

    ReplyDelete
  87. Loved it. And the intro was sick.

    ReplyDelete
  88. The latter. Definitely the latter.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I like him as a villain, but he's an asshole.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I think the former.

    ReplyDelete
  91. See in my mind this was more awesome possum.

    ReplyDelete
  92. That's not me. Sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Eh fair. Few people have my liking hating bad guys.

    ReplyDelete
  94. No but it's still good. Plus Thea has a really cool moment.

    ReplyDelete
  95. but right now it wasn't the time when they're dealing with a hostage situation

    ReplyDelete
  96. i always feel weird when i like ad guys LOL

    ReplyDelete
  97. I don't think any time is ever really a good time.

    ReplyDelete
  98. But Shannon if this helps remember this is the story of Green Arrow, and the finale is titled, "My Name is Oliver Queen," so while it may be a sad place now it won't last.

    ReplyDelete
  99. What do you mean she was invisible?

And she had guns on her, so...

    ReplyDelete
  100. yeah i guess but not even TRY to attack Felicity was far-fetched

    ReplyDelete
  101. I need to talk to you...now. On another thread.

    ReplyDelete
  102. which she gave to Lyla and then it was a fight between Al Sah-Him vs Diggle, Nyssa and Laurel vs everyone else

    ReplyDelete
  103. I need to talk to you..now. On another thread.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Okay. Where should we talk?

    ReplyDelete
  105. i get that, it's like Crowley on Supernatural and Peter Hale on Teen Wolf

    ReplyDelete
  106. not a Flash watcher are you? Cisco built her a device created from Sara's sonic devive and made it into a collar, thus creating the Canary Cry from the comics

    ReplyDelete
  107. Laurel got that device over on The Flash. And if they're going to start doing thinks like that during crossovers, they need to mention it on the actual show it's going to show up on. I thought for sure she was going to mention it when she was talking to Diggle in that van before they went up on the rooftop.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I can't say....But you know me well enough. Go to another one of our shows. I'll give you a hint. The sneak peek Today involved a character I want dead.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Nop, only watched like 3 episodes and none are current. Cool thing Cisco did this for her. Woder why sh didnt use it when they were fighting the league.

    ReplyDelete
  110. maybe because Diggle, Lyla, Nyssa and Felicity were there and she could've hurt tham

    ReplyDelete
  111. She did get them for a reason of course lol. And then with all the training that she went through with Malcolm, though granted, that was mostly with sword, and he only made her use bow and arrow (as far as we know) when he brainwashed her to kill Sara.

But it was an awesome shot, I just hope to see more of her helping and working on Team Arrow, until Ollie gets to his senses again

    ReplyDelete
  112. She gave the two guns we *know* of to Lyla. And then she removed herself from the situation after it was clear she couldn't get through to him. I just don't see what the issue is.

    ReplyDelete
  113. It's not Pod Oliver, some would say it's the reverse.

    Reverse-Oliver.

    ReplyDelete
  114. you just got a new job and are on the cusp of a promotion, now what? why mass killing of course!
come browse our catalog of splendid ways to kill off an entire population!

    ReplyDelete
  115. The former for me too, I really liked evil Oliver, although I think he could be faking it.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I don't think Oliver is brainwashed I think he's going along with it to learn from ra's because of the whole "only the student can defeat the master" thing... Bringing thea back from near death and finding a way to beat ra's without anymore collateral damage to starling 2 birds one stone

    ReplyDelete
  117. I already really hate this storyline with Oliver being villain like.

    ReplyDelete
  118. This episode was just phenomenal. Funny how this one episode indeed made it feel like the very first episode of Arrow would lead up to this. After his time with the League, this has to change Ollie to be more like his comic book counterpart.

And the callbacks to the previous episodes were a nice touch. Guess H.I.V.E.'s going to be a tricky little group next season!

    ReplyDelete
  119. Lmao sure! I have an account on ptv if you want to send me a PM there.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I've heard this theory before, and I really like that idea. But still, coming back from all of this, I think we need to see a very different Oliver Queen next season and of course, Green Arrow.

    ReplyDelete
  121. I'm cool with that. Because it would be a brilliant strategy.

    ReplyDelete
  122. "Pod".

Hah, that's lovely nickname for this Ollie.

    ReplyDelete
  123. I hope so I want to see him lighten up be a bit of a smart ass in the field and of course finally go by green arrow

    ReplyDelete
  124. Them all those requirements to be the next Ra's al Ghul is crazy, its like the SAT, BAR & MCAT all combined and on crack.

I liked the episode tho, as I see the show thru Oliver's pov. While he is being Al Sah-him at least he is doing a good job at it, that mannerism and the look he gives during the exchange was chilling and awesome.

The exchange... the team just had to let her Nyssa go, Nyssa knew they wouldn't stop so she choose to go, must like Oliver, they can't even honer that choice of hers. Idk I feels like it was their doing that now gives them pain on Oliver's situation.
    - but with the cleansing coming, shit is gonna heat up more, before it cool.

    - and since its near the end I guess all that was expected.

I like the end, glad Nyssa didn't die, of course. But has to marry Al Sah-him. I was Oliver I'd be like oh shit really, Yes in the inside lol.

    ReplyDelete
  125. lol good laugh watch, I love reactions.

    ReplyDelete
  126. olicity shippers would have died just a little bit after this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  127. This was not as bad as I feared. It was difficult to sit through but it was a great episode.

    - SPEEDYYYYY. Loved Thea this episode. Her interactions with everyone was so good to see. Her introduction as Speedy was so cool
    - AL Sahim. I was expecting the worst. So I was relieved not much more harm was done this episode. I loved Oliver's blank look and stony face
    - Nyssa rules everyone. This character has developed and become so much more.
    - Diggle vs Oliver. My heart broke when Diggle called Oliver son of a bitch. But I am glad Oliver did not physically harm Lyla and all Diggle got was a flesh wound.
    - Thea/Felicity interactions. At last!!! it was so good to see.
    - Loved them using Felicity to smuggle in guns for Lyla. But after Felicity ran away to hide none of the League cronies caught her? That's convenient.
    - Oliver/Nyssa wedding. Barf!! But SA and KL makes a handsome couple. Both of their faces when Ra's gave his instruction was hilarious for me
    - At last flashbacks pay off. Alpha/Omega weapon to be unleashed in Starling CIty. *sigh* Relocate stupid Starling City people at least now.
    - Akio!!!! :(
    - That last montage of everyone grieving Oliver was really hard to see.
    - Nyssa/Laurel - I liked it but I didn't feel much connected to their friendship. I loved the burger and milkshake scene but somehow something fell flat there. I wish they had shown us a glimpse of Laurel and Nyssa training before this episode. I think lack of continuity was the issue there.

Nothing much negative for this episode. A very strong one setting up the finale. I really enjoyed it. I thank the creatives for not making me hate Oliver by making him do more reprehensible stuff. Now give us back our Oliver asap.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I have no clue what that is. I'd love to PM you but I can't. Ugh!! I want you to meet me on another thread, but I can't tell you where. Ughh. I'm annoyed.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I honestly think that since she hide away fast, she wasn't considered a threat? I mean, going after her wouldn't make sense since this was an exchange and the point is to get away with Nyssa as fast as possible, not going after people.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I was into it. I like scary Oliver, he's fun. When Thea shot him and he just cut off the top of the arrow? It's wrong, but that was kinda hot. Just saying. And I love Nyssa, and Nyssa and Laurel's friendship, so I'm glad we got to see more of it, and hey, bringing Katrina Law back next season doesn't sound like the worst idea. Also, more Diggle/Felicity and Thea/Felicity scenes, please, and more Lyla, and the Canary Cry is awesome. I wasn't sure how this would go, but overall, I liked this episode a lot.

The one thing - and it's a big thing - is the whole Oliver marrying Nyssa business. I mean, I want to keep Nyssa, and if they told me having the LoA all dress up like clowns and then do some interpretive dance would mean she got to live, then give me some dancing clowns. But where's the dramatic stakes in this? It's going to happen the episode before the finale. It's not going to last. Nyssa won't be able to use them being close to take him down or something because she won't have time; she won't get pregnant, they're not going to fall in love or have any kind of new feelings for each other - even aside from the short time frame, she's gay, for heaven's sakes. And once we get Oliver back episode after next, I don't think that the ceremony is going to hold up legally, somehow, so they will be married for an episode, if they get married at all, and then walk their separate ways. I don't even think it will rile up most of the shippers very much, because we know Oliver's not going to be in Nanda Parbat past the finale, and again, Nyssa's gay. Not really a lot to worry about there. Except some extreme awkwardness when Darth Oliver tries to do his duty and kiss her or something in the most passionless, stone-faced way possible, and Nyssa tries to garrote him with the bed sheets the second his guard is down.

Why not like a final showdown to the death or something? You know, give Nyssa one last chance to prove she can be the Heir, give Team Arrow a final chance to go save her. I hope there's something more to this wedding, because it's just not landing for me. There were better options. It's not enough for me to not like this episode, but still. It's weird.

    ReplyDelete
  131. It's cool! Just go here: http://forums.previously.tv/forum/148-arrow/ create an account, make a post in the small talks thread saying you're new and I'll PM you from there :)

    ReplyDelete
  132. I wonder if the theory that he's pretending is true. But man this was great. Making Oliver Al Sahim was effective way to really drive tension. Plus now when he becomes Oliver and Green Arrow he'll be even better as a fighter. I liked the hints however small facially that Oliver is still in there.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I'm kinda surprised at the awful votes! It was a pretty good episode launching us to the final stretch. I ask, are these votes because it was a badly crafted tv hour, or because people had trouble with Ollie going evil?

I mean, we know he is coming back, eventually. But yeah, this episode was great for the supporting cast all around.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I'm really liking this decay thing of season three. Where every character, almost every role and action is leading to the fall and destruction of Oliver and many of his allies so when the end comes, and rebuilding sets in it will be something beautiful. Something dare I say Greener.

  135. I truly think he is biding his time to get an opportunity to take down Ra's. There were several instances today where he could have killed Diggle and all Diggle got was a flesh wound? Oliver without LoA training could take down Diggle without a sword in 5 minutes. They had a long fight and yet Diggle lives. Also he allowed Felicity not to be searched. If he was brainwashed and was compliant to Ra's both Diggle and Felicity would be dying dead there in minutes.

But it was glorious to see Oliver this way. So cool. What a fun way to up Oliver's fighting prowess. Like you said there were small facial ticks that made Oliver shine through especially when Ra's spoke about wiping out Starling City.

My prediction is Oliver will unleash the virus in Nanda Parbat with the help of Maseo. Only Ra's, Nyssa and Oliver will be spared as they will be on a plane.

PS: Yay! Malcolm is not staying with Thea in the loft. That is such a relief.

  136. I doubt Damien Darhk is ra's 2.0 he probably very skilled and good fighter but he is hopefully a more technology villain

    ReplyDelete
  137. Even more evidence, nice! I agree. He'll definitely find a way to cripple the league so he won't be bothered by Ra's further. I knew you'd be happy at that revelation about Malcolm. :D

    ReplyDelete
  138. I liked how they built up Nyssa's love for the new peaceful life in this episode. I am sure now Nyssa and Oliver will team up and bring down Ra's. It will be glorious to watch.

You have no idea how happy I was to know Malcolm is not shacking up with Thea.:D Little things like that irk me. LOL. But I felt so sorry for her. She was sitting alone in a big house. She lost everyone of her family. Poor girl.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I hope Damien is more out there villain than subtle Ra's. A huge villain would be nice change of pace next season.

  140. All the stuff with Diggle/Sara/Lyla/Thea/Felicity was great. I really liked the Laurel and Nyssa scenes too.

The stuff with Ra's and Oliver and the LoA is so stupid I can't stand it. Oliver has to kill Nyssa -- no, he has to marry Nyssa (and be very careful she doesn't kill him on the marriage bed). Why is Ra's acting like a 12 year old girl?

Malcolm has to pay a blood debt for killing 500 innocent people in The Undertaking because he broke the LoA's rule about killing innocent people. But Oliver has to wipe out Starling City enitrely to become Ra's.

The Stupid; it hurts. This Ra's storyline can't be over fast enough.

And that's not even talking about the offensiveness of forcing a lesbian to marry and procreate with a man.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I am at last biting the bullet and joining there. Just to talk to you.

    ReplyDelete
  142. A redshirt who Ra's manipulated Oliver into thinking was Diggle.

But Ra's can't die soon enough for me. He's not scary, he's just completely crackers.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Lol, this is going to sound so wrong, but when you said "shacking up" it took my mind to the umm dirtier connotation of the phrase. So do I. But at least now, she knows Roy's alive and will reunite with him. And she has the support and love and friendship of Felicity, Lyla and Diggle to help weather the pain. Plus now she has a purpose, to continue Oliver's work. Of cours that's no substitute for those she's lost, but at least she has a reason to keep moving forward.

    ReplyDelete
  144. By that logic do we know is Felicity has shown any indication of being able to shoot guns? I get that Felicity was there to smuggle the guns and I can somewhat understand that but I dont see why or how Felicity could have been sidelined from the fighting. Every random league member was accounted for during the fight either fighting Laurel or Lyla or shot. It doesn't make sense that two guys fought Laurel when an easier target like Felicity was left alone. It is also a disservice to Felicity as a character to show her hiding away and letting her friends get hurt while she remains safe. It seems OOC. If Felicity was there to convince Oliver then why wasn't she involved in the Oliver/Diggle fight. Even something as reckless as throwing herself in between Diggle and Oliver to stop the fight would have made for a better Felicity move.

  145. Forgot to mention Canary Cry!!! in my post. I expected more fanfare to it. When Sara's sonic device was first introduced in season 2 Laurel's office it was a glorious and longer scene. IMO they could have done much better for a canary cry introduction when there was more assassins around like the last stand off between two groups.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Sweet!!! :D just post something on the small talks thread there and I'll PM you :D

    ReplyDelete
  147. Agreed. Its just she felt so small sitting in that couch all alone. Poor girl.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I kinda wanted to give her a hug. Just like Diggle, and Felicity. And Lyla. And Nyssa.

    ReplyDelete
  149. I was actually being sarcastic. I don't think Felicity knows how to do anything more than pistol whip someone.

They brought Felicity because a) she wanted to see if she could get through to Oliver and b) they were counting on her being the one person that Oliver wouldn't insist on being patted down, so she was able to have the guns ready for Lyla to take them by surprise. She was overlooked yet again because people didn't take her as a threat, which is typical for people where she's concerned. No disservice was done to her character at all IMO.

  150. I thought it looked sort of ridiculous :/ I wish it came across better on screen, but it just made me sort of laugh which I'm sure is NOT the reaction the writers wanted. I hope they use the Canary Cry really sparingly. It seems like something that can get old really fast.

    ReplyDelete
  151. I won't watch the episode till tonight. I'm so overwhlemed with all the comments. Bad good worse excellent.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Oh poor Nyssa. I wanted to hug her the most when Ra's said he does not care about her wishes.

    ReplyDelete
  153. It didn't feel ridiculous to me but the introduction was very underwhelming. When Sara's device was introduced the camera was focused on her in the beginning. She fell from the roof with a device and all windows shattered. Here we see the effect first and then Laurel for few seconds. I expected more.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Is Thea leaving to be with Roy? I hope not, I've been waiting for a bro/sis tag team forever!

    ReplyDelete
  155. Lol ok....it won't be tonight, but I'm going to save it. But someone else will talk to you for me tonight. Just a head's up.

    ReplyDelete
  156. I LOVED Sara's device. It was pretty awesome and it didn't require her to scream which I'm sure can be exhausting/make you lose your voice. There wasn't much fanfare for this... My parents watch Arrow and not Flash so they called me up asking me wtf was that ridiculous thing? Yeah. Not good for the show to introduce a weapon like that in a different show.

    ReplyDelete
  157. How awesome would that be?! I don't think Thea is leaving, I'm pretty sure Roy is going to be the one to give her a mask when she goes to visit him ;) She's only just becoming Speedy and seeing her team up with Oliver will be amazing

    ReplyDelete
  158. ODA and I just started a PM, so when you do sign on I can add you into the chat :)

    ReplyDelete
  159. I hope so too. There needs to be a marked difference next season. And I hope for once the angst is taken off the shoulders of Oliver, Laurel and Thea. Give it to Diggle and Felicity in terms of HIVE and her father. At least he got kick ass training from LoA.

    ReplyDelete
  160. They didn't even name drop Cisco about the device or showed him giving her the device in previously on Arrow segment. I wonder what Arrow only fans are thinking about new Canary Cry (excluding your parents of course). Comic book fans might even think she got meta human powers since the device is not identifiable in her costume. Other will be simply baffled where is this sound coming from?

    ReplyDelete
  161. Fantastic!! I love it.

    ReplyDelete
  162. I know! How rude :P At least when Felicity gives Team Flash a gift they acknowledge it... No but I really do think it was a bad idea giving her this in The Flash. Cisco should've come down to Arrow and given her that in a quick scene...

    ReplyDelete
  163. Lauliver another angst that is gonna be soooo long & hard. My OTP. T_t
Awesome Laurel in the ep. Nyssa + Laurel yay.

    ReplyDelete
  164. I think that Oliver just seems to be dark and he don't care about anything, but he's doing it on purpose to convince Ra's about his loyalty and devotion.

    ReplyDelete
  165. he is faking, but the writers want us to think otherwise .

    ReplyDelete
  166. Truly awesome episode. Nyssa was the best as usual and i'm very relieved that she survived.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Another great episode:)

    ReplyDelete
  168. I love Nyssa. I want her to stick around next season. She rules everyone right now on this show, just saying.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Loved it! Especially Thea and Felicity interacting! But Oliver and Nyssa...no!

    ReplyDelete
  170. yeah that's true LOL and i want to see her full transformation into Speedy, the yellow and red suit will be so awesome!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  171. whoa a rare Laurel and Oliver shipper? or sarcasm?

  172. Sarah van BinnebekeApril 30, 2015 at 12:44 PM

I think there is a 75% chance that Oliver is faking it.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Really great bad guys are fun to love/hate. I actually get irritated when there is nothing for me to love to hate about the villain.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Diggle x Oliver was so difficult to watch, but I was expecting a lot worse!
I absolutely agree about Nyssa and Laurel, I liked but couldn't they've showed some scenes of them building this friendship? At least so we can get behind Laurel forcing her hand so Dig and Felicity would agree to save Nyssa. IDK, it felt out of nowhere.
I kind of hated the use of the Canary Cry. I LOL'd during it. I don't think that was what it was intended. You know I'm not a Laurel hater and that I'm enjoying her as BC and I know she's supposed to be sloppy, but I cringed at her fight scenes.
One question, can Oliver be the Arrow with Al Sahim's costume? It definitely suited him.

    ReplyDelete
  175. The "Al-Sah-Him" episode is yet another "filler" episode of Arrow's less-than-satisfying Season 3. There were Good and Bad elements, which is becoming very common with this series.

First the Bad. I am so, so tired of the Hong Kong flashbacks that I'm ready to kill everyone in the flashbacks--including the little boy. I know there will be some connection in the season finale, but at this point I see the flashbacks as a diversion, a way to take up time that could be devoted to the present-day story of Team Arrow. And, to me, this is just poor storytelling.

Also in the Bad category is the hand-wringing of Team Arrow. Come on, people--focus! Either you accept the fact that Ollie's gone AND is now a Baddie, or you work together and come up with a Plan to get him back. Which will probably happen in the last two episodes, but the writers are dragging it out, and continue to destroy the viewers faith in Team Arrow.

Last of the Bad. For the first time the fight scenes didn't have the pop! the Arrow's stunt team has rightly been praised for. Indeed, in Season 2 the fight scenes were so exciting and well choreographed that I was outraged that they didn't rack up a bunch of awards. The stunts in "Al-Sah-Him" seemed not only a repeat of so many other scenes--but, just plain lazy. I've seen all of these moves so many times before. My only explanation for this is because they're shooting 20+ episodes it doesn't allow time for the actors to learn and practices new moves.

Now to what was Good in "Al-Sah-Him". First off, the writers did manage to deliver one surprise: Ra's demanding that Oliver and Nyssa marry! While this plays out a little like Ra's giving into his anti-gay attitude--erasing his daughter's same-sex romantic history by forcing her into a straight relationship--it also begins to move the pieces around the table for the expected return of Sara. I can already see Nyssa re-affirming her love for Sara as a finale act of independence from Ra's. Maybe he'll accept it, maybe Nyssa will die for her Beloved (Sara). So the Oliver/Nyssa forced marriage subplot has real promise.

BTW, speaking of the show's working it's way through same-sex issues, I'm glad they resisted the urge to move the Laurel/Nyssa relationship in that direction. As I've said before, given Nyssa's relationship with Sara, having her hook-up with Laurel would be icky.

Moving on, I also liked the fact that a brainwashed Oliver is far more decisive than the Oliver/Hamlet that we've seen previously in Season 3. I always believed that the Oliver-with-the-LOA should have been the main thematic journey of this season; and have been frustrated that it's taken the writers so long to get us to this point. There coulda/shoulda been episodes-of-the-week of Oliver leading/changing (for the better) the LOA on missions--at the same time that Team Arrow was plotting to "reclaim" Oliver from the LOA. To me, that would have been a very exciting Season 3--and also would have eliminated the need for the Hong Kong flashbacks. Bottom line: Oliver with the LOA is THE story arc that works.

Lastly, what worked with this episode, and for the series as a whole, is having a smaller number of characters. Without Roy, Ray, Captain Lance--plus an abbreviated appearance by Malcolm--the show is humming alone, with each character having a real purpose in the story development.

Bottom line: as I've said before, Arrow is best with less characters to focus on. And, definitely there needs to be fewer episodes in future seasons: 12 or 13 episodes seem to be what this Writers Room can handle.

  176. When Diggle called Oliver son of a bitch my heart broke into pieces. I need to see a DigglexOliver hug to repair my heart.
Nyssa and Laurel was not bad at all. Infact I am glad that these two women was able to lean on each other. But atleast one scene in suicidal tendencies showing Nyssa training Laurel would have made these scenes so much better.
I did not hate Canary Cry. I was underwhelmed by it. This version is supposed to be better than Sara's. But Sara's canary cry introduction scene was so bad ass. This lacked flair comparatively. I hope next outing is much better.
I liked Laurel's fight scene in the last one where she was fighting two league guys. Then I remembered she was getting her ass kicked by a common thug in the first scene. That took the fun out of it.*sigh*.
The league suit and mask is really cool. And Stephen looks sexy in bulky outfit and that hood. I loved it. I hope the new Arrow costume has less clingy pants.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Great episode, loved EVIL OLIVER.

I have a feeling that Al-Sahim is faking his brainwashing thing, there where moments I felt that, I hope I'm right about this, because it'll be very bad if he was really brainwashed.

About HIVE, what if Malcolm is working with them?
Didn't Ra's said that Damien Darhk took some of Laz Pit waters with him?
What if he was the one who treated Malcolm after been stabed in heart?

  178. you go to twitter and type lauriver .. you will see there are as much laurel / oliver posts as olicty. it's just olicty morons have no life and very vocal and cry and whinny in every opportunity they get (just like felicty in the show) on the net which make it feel like they are so many ..

    ReplyDelete
  179. LOL, but yes, it did. There were only a few scenes that I actually enjoyed and I can count them on one hand.
