HOLY SHIT. Phillip revealed himself to Martha!! I was speechless for a good 3 minutes after the screen went to black. I was not expecting this revelation to be in the penultimate episode but it was still an awesome scene. Can't wait to see the aftermath of this and see if she will accept Phillip or abandon him entirely.
Claudia's back! Was anyone else getting some vibes that maybe her and Gabriel were lovers back in the day? I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they actually were because they have known each other for about 30 years and looked really comfortable at that diner. That Paige/Phillip scene where he tells her that there was no Aunt Helen afterall and proceeded to show her picture of the night when Henry was born was really nice. Looks like he did this to calm her down entirely. And I really hope she accepts Elizabeth's offer to go to Russia with her and visit her dying grandmother. She's always been questioning why they don't have any relatives in America and well now is her chance to meet Elizabeth's real mother. Though with that song playing in the background and those lyrics, it seems to imply that maybe she wasn't influenced by Elizabeth's talk and won't go afterall...It will be interesting to to see what her decision is. Also, poor Henry not have any clue what's going on XD He's just watching TV and playing video games just like a regular teenager.
Stan being a badass toward Aderholt was so great but that mail robot was beeping!! Looks like the Rezidentura was listening and will pick up on that in the future. Uh oh, guess it was a good idea for them that they didn't shut down the program. So hyped for next week's finale! Can't wait to see how they close out this fantastic season.
Oh my gosh, that episode was so fantastic! The actress who plays Martha just floored me. And that last scene - I am speechless. Just speechless. Great, great, great.
I didn't pick up on the mail robot beeping during Stan and Aderholt's conversation. Nice catch! I also didn't notice the lyrics to the song with Paige. Love those details!
Oh, my gosh. Is this the right way to end an episode, show?! I won't catch my breath till next Thursday.
I am always so glad to see Claudia again. I loved the conversation between her and Gabriel, although I think Gabriel might be sent back to Moscow if he doesn't hurry things up regarding Paige.
I adored everything and there's still so much left to wrap up an amazing season of television.
So many feels for this show!! -Martha thinking quick and turning it back on Beeman and his divorce....nice! -Henry sitting in front of the TV, playing a video game as well, as by himself. His parents come in for 2 minutes before they are back out the door. Poor kid. -Gabriel and Claudia in the diner...yes, definitely feel they were lovers once -Elizabeth jumping to clamp her hand over Paige's mouth when she wouldn't stop shouting -Elizabeth and Phillip in the car when the enemy. So intense, I don't know how they didn't off the guy right there -That last scene with Martha and Clark/Phillip - OMG! Was he trying to gain her trust to make her stay? Is her death coming soon since he has revealed himself? Did she recognize him from the composite sketches at the office of the 2 suspected KGB operatives?
All the revelations this season have been great. I think Philip does care about Martha in some ways, obviously he cares for his family and the mission more but letting her see his true self that is intimacy.
What is going to happen now? I was freaking out during the final scene when Clark revealed his true self, Philip. More importantly, what is his thinking behind such a huge reveal? Is he still trying to regain some of Martha's trust? Or is he going to kill her? Martha dying at Philip's hand will be one huge emotionally twisted/dark moment for the show.
Elizabeth and Paige are going to Russia - I would be giddy about this but after reading the synopsis for the finale, I am filled with dread.
That mail robot bug is definitely going to pay off. Something important is going to be said or has already been said and the KGB will hear it.
Small side note: I love the tertiary characters on this show. Last season it was Lucia. This season it is Hans and Tatiana. They are small players in the grand scheme but they play such important roles, that as a viewer, you start appreciating their usefulness.
My first guess was that Phil didn't want to kill Martha while being this other person who loves her. By shedding his disguise he can now kill her. Atleast that is what I expect :)
omg. OMG. OH MY GOD. OH MY FUCKING GOD! Everything in this episode was A++++++++. The way they played Zadran. How Gabriel showed he has some feelings and it's having secnds thoughts and Caudia always in character, she has no chill and she tells things how they should be. How Elizabeth was hurt because she doesnt now how to deal with Paige and she feels like she is getting appart from her daugther and Paige with ehr questions and everything else just makes it more perfect. But teh award of teh nioght it's for Martha. to Alison Wright, she was perfect in teh episode, she is so the edge and she nailed the emotionsvery well. That final escenes with Philip and her were perfect.
Lots of reveals going on. Elizabeth revealing herself to the matron/bookkeeper at the mail robot repair facility - result: death. Hans (accidentally) revealing himself to Todd - result: death. Philip and Elizabeth revealing themselves to Paige - result:TBD. Philip revealing himself to Martha - result: TBD.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Great episode! Loved the ending i wonder what it means for martha.

Not sure if that was Phil trying to gain Martha's trust or scare the piss out of her but I am pretty sure she just wet herself.
ReplyDeleteMatthew is a cutepie but, sometimes, he's able to scare the hell out of me.
