WHY SHOOT CASSIE AND SEND HER TO THE FUTURE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY SEPARATE CASSIE AND COLE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cole changed everything didn't he? Ramse was supposed to die and Cassie was never supposed to be sent to the future, right? i knew the Blue Man Group (LOL) were the 12. Aaron dying by being burned alive was HORRIFIC!!! those are my can't handle deaths: buried alive and being burned alive. Did the show just redeem Ramse? i hope so!!! i'm SUPER confused by the end, what does that mean? WHY NOT AN "I LOVE YOU" FROM COLE AND/OR CASSIE?!!!!!!!!!!! OR A FREAKING KISS?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as much as i LOVED the beginning with Cole and Cassie in bed i wanted MORE!!!!!!! much MUCH more!!!!!!
Okay so I was right about Cole and Cassie sharing a bed. Their smiles were just perfect!
I know Aaron got Cole's Dad killed and I hated him for it but that whole death by fire thing was hard to watch.
So other notes:
-I guess it was Jones's turn to give up (after Cassie and Cole's giving up moments) -The blue men are the 12 Monkeys! -Cassie sure was very gun-ho this episode! -What?! WTF? Jennifer is the one who releases the virus?
Nooo! Cassie and Cole are separated! That's what I was afraid would happen! :( Lucky the time travel thing worked out for her!
I was going to say Cole and Ramse both can't age due to the injections so all Cole has to do is wait years and eventually get to Cassie but then realized he does age cause after the paradox that's out of his system. No! What now? I can only think Cassie will have to find a way to travel back again.
It's going to be a LONG year until the 2nd season! Jeez.
But at least I can take comfort that Cole saved Ramse and I just know they're going to be friends again. Yes! All is right in the bromance world. 12 Monkeys writers, you are forgiven (mostly - why'd you have to separate Cassie and Cole?!)
"See You Soon" is DEFINITELY their "Always" from Castle and Beckett and "Don't Freak Out" from Chuck and Sarah. They also cut Cole and Cassie sitting in bed
so Cole DID change things with saving Ramse and ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sending Cassie to the future? i knew the Blue Man Group were the 12 but didn't jump to the 12 MONKEYS are you sure? i'm still confused, if Ramse was never The Witness the who is, did we see him? i don't think they'd do that to us, i trust them THAT much, Cassie will come back to 2015 or 2016 i guess, depending on the show's timeline. Shouldn't olivia and her "team" i guess be scared of Cole? he changed things
I was nervous the whole time. I am in the minority, I am glad there was no kiss or I love you. I love Cole and Cassie, but I want them to earn those moments. Something for me to look forward in season 2. if it doesn't happen next season then I will be po'd. So who the frick is the Witness?! I don't think Aaron is dead. Loved that Ramse and Cole were together in the end. Cole couldn't let him die and Ramse didn't want Cole to watch her die again (that's how I saw it).
yeah seems like it can, both BROTHERLY love and ROMANTIC love. But i mean even before, Cole wasn't going to stop, so what makes them think that he's not a problem? i guess it makes sense that the 12 are also the Monkeys. OLIVIA The Witness, hmm could be
Yeah I can go for them earning those moments. I'm okay without the kiss. I'm upset about the season ending with them separated though but know the writers can't keep them apart long. They can't!
The Witness could be Olivia or her father? All those predictions. The way she talked about Ramse's fate seemed to hint that.
It was a good episode but not the best, truthfully I'm a little disappointed.
I'll start with the bad: - A lot of things were rushed that shouldn't have been and didn't need to be (Ramse switching sides again, the Aaron fallout) - The blue people being the 12 Monkeys was too predictable
(Thought it when we first saw them in the promo photos) - A lot of characters had sudden personality changes (Cole and Cassie got way darker)
And now the good: - Everything involving Jones was very good - Cole and Cassie had a couple of nice moments
Overall I would have preferred if they'd extended it to deal with the emotions of it more. I also think they should have revealed more about the 12 Monkeys and Jennifer, since I found neither reveals surprising at all. I'd be glad Ramse and Cole were friends again if it wasn't so rushed and I was actually sure Ramse wasn't just faking it. I am glad Cassie is time travelling now and she and Jones are re-united again. I'm also so so glad they didn't kill off Jones :)
The wait for season 2 is going to kill me though...I've no idea how I'm going to get through it.
Am I the only one who watches the show just to see what Barbara Sukowa will do next. She makes Jones so much more fascinating than what has been written for here just through little quirks and ticks. Easily my favourite character on the show and I'm so happy she made it through the finale unscathed. Was trying to figure out after the ending where Cole changed fate and I think it was after he returned from the alternate reality where Cassie had died after the Night Room. His persistence in saving her brought about his visions of the glass of milk breaking which I assumed were brought about by something in his past being changed. Maybe it brought about him meeting Ramse sooner than expected or it just solidified their connection but I think it was that moment that brought about his changing fate.
All in all though, that was a brilliant finale and it really solidified in my mind that I haven't seen a Sci-Fi show this good since Battlestar finished. Season 2 can't come fast enough.
Yeah, it did feel a little rushed and Cole and Cassie being darker seemed a little ooc (mostly Cassie cause Cole's always had that darker side) but it could be explained by Aaron's betrayal affecting them I guess.
Good theory. I had a similar theory that maybe Cole's father died sooner than expected because maybe there was a change in timeline after saving Cassie -hence as you said, the visions/new memories Cole kept having.
I think that theory is great and it falls in line with the idea of Love being the deciding factor in effecting change because his father sacrificed himself for both versions of Cole. My main query going into season 2 if they are turning Cassie into the new Cole is whether or not it was the time travel slowly killing Cole or the new memories that precipitated his decline. The writers will need to figure that out before season 2 because I don't think I can go through another time traveller getting sicker plotline again. Don't get me wrong, it gave the show stakes because of the whole Chechnya section of the season but its been done now and I'd had to retread old ground. You got anything your wondering before be get into season 2?
Yeah, you'd think after watching Sci-fi for most of my life I'd learn you need a body to confirm death (and even then a body doesn't always mean anything).
Well if Cassie doesn't time travel often in theory she shouldn't get sick like Cole did (Ramse was fine for many, many years because he only traveled once) and eventually they can find a way to fix her cell changes due to time travel later. Also, the injection was an earlier form, so it is possible it could affect her in a different way?
My Questions - Too many!
- Is Jennifer actually the one who releases the virus? - How will Cassie get back to 2015/2016? Cause it has to happen and we know the time travel machine in 2015 can't receive a time traveler and don't know if there are splinter injections left in the future still. - Who's Cole's mother? - Is Olivia the Witness? - Is it actually Cole saving Cassie that started change in their fates? (Confirmation would be nice) - Would it be possible to save the past and the future? Like can they save Cassie, 7 billion people, and Sam? You know with love seemingly becoming a force to be reckoned with?
Theories: Right now, the only one I'm pretty sure about is Cole and Ramse become friends again after saving him and they team up trying to save everyone.
Ummm someone theorized on Tumblr that having visions of the Red Forest triggered something in Cassie so that she was more gun-ho. (Phrasing it in my own words here)
I think it would be too easy for Jennifer to be the one to release the Virus as it all (according to Jones and Cole etc) happened across the globe at the same time so her world tour doesn't really answer how she sets it off all at once. At this moment she seems more like a Pawn than a Queen.
I swear there was one injection left in the case when Cole went to Tokyo so it might be interesting for Cassie to spend a long time in the future and only come back with the final injection.
I trust the writers when it comes to Cole's mother and can't wait to see what happens there.
I have a wild notion that the Witness is someone who hasn't time travelled from the future yet but is going to in season 2. I mean how cool would it be if Deacon or Jones' protector (I forget his name) ends up being the Witness, especially considering the new core allows long distance jumps now.
I think the only 2 queries I have that are bugging me are :
-Where did The Palid Man get Ramse's necklace from to create the Paradox? -What happened to Jones' husband who abandoned her after 6 days of marriage? I mean come on, that just screams future plotline to me.
Was that Jones' husband. It was unclear to me. Then again, you don't hire Peter Outerbridge for just a one off appearance, I think they were probably laying the groundwork for next season I assume.
They called him "Mr. Jones" at one point. Totally caught me off guard lol I had a deer in highlights look for a moment since I was in the middle of posting a comment online. I was like "wait a second!"
yeah he mentioned a person called "Kat" and the used a German accent to imitate her and the closed caption put "Elliot" and "Ramse called him "Dr. Jones"
All I can say now... Show almost lost me as a viewer. Because writers lost any sense of logic in order to create so called drama. They had that flaw before but I preferred to ignore that. But they crossed the line tonight. Sometimes all that twist and turns don't feel natural. And they said in interview that they intend to go darker, exploring more relationships, more emotional... It can be good thing, but not with writers like that. And I don't appreciate what they doing with characters also. I understand that Cassie is not the same person as she was before. She just can't be the same after all she's being trough. But that women in episode is not Cassie at all. Even the fact that Ramse is not the witness and his some sort of redemption in episode don't make it better for me. Now I’m actually glad I have time to think things through. Because now I don’t know if I will return for season two.
:( Shame. I didn't have much issue with anything except it did feel a bit rushed in some ways and yeah Cassie was off. But maybe that had to do with Aaron's betrayal and the red forest visions?
I'm totally confused!!, so the 12 blue men were the 12 babies this crazy bitch had in the office, (they look a little older than 28 years old), so the plan was to create another humankind of blue men??, but there were no women... the Ramsey turned out not to be the witness so who the fuck is??!!, and taking Cassie to the past was more effective than taking her to a hospital because..., well, maybe because Jones had a mini hospital in "her place", well I don't know, i think I need to re-watch this episode and rewind it like 10 times if it's possible because I just don't get it right now.
First of all I need to cool my head of or I can say something that I will regret later. Anyway besides disappointment I still got other emotions from the episode. It's a good thing, right?)
Awesome/Unbelievable season 1 finale (No Spoilers), but don't leave Jennifer with the wrong "monkey"! #MAKEENOUGHTIME4CASSIE! 2016, why so long SyFy? 4 4 THE MAD/MONKEY/SCIENCE (JENNIFER/COLE/CASSIE), I am Nobody!!!
Sometimes times helps. I have had so many shows do something I don't like and eventually can move past it. Mostly it's been sudden, pointless deaths of characters I loved or a beloved character going bad/dark.
Already did that. I tweet the first time so I always watch again after. I wasn't going to stay up to buy the episode on amazon but jeez I'm like an hour away from it being uploaded and it's Saturday now, so I might as well wait now.
I do my second watch usually after some time. When thing are sorted in my head. Right now it's emotional suicide. But it's helpful sometimes. In my outburst I forget to mention how amazing Cole/Cassie are in the first half of episode. And as a team especially. If we put all the angst and dark aside. Gosh, I don't want rewatch the outcome, I think my outburst may happen again.
Ok so Ramsey is not the witness and Cassie is in the future. Don't panic shippers, nothing seems to have changed in the future when Cassie arrives there. This means that at some point Cassie will still have to return to the present to leave the message on the radio and then die so Cole can find her watch. I must admit I have always considered that scene a bit of a red herring, Cole found a skeleton at the CDC wearing Cassie's watch and assumed it was her, the message could easily have been pre-recorded so Cassie does not have to die herself to make it all stay the same. Now I seem to be having a discussion with myself so I will stop now. :)
I think Cassie somehow would blame Aaron's "death" for Cole cauz when Cole told her not to shoot Ramse, she said the same thing as Cole said to her -"He made his choice" to remind Cole that he was the one who won't let him save Aaron and she won't let Cole save his friend. I'm kind of sad that Cassie is becoming a badass like Cole.
Yeah I know but that scene may have been triggered by Cassie knowing how she will die in advance as she was told by Cole. Not only that the room looked different from where Cole supposedly found her body and she did not make any radio message that I saw, there did not seem to be any radio equipment near either. It may be nothing but it doesn't quite fit
Just watched episode, earlier post was based on spoilers I had seen. Main thing from the episode for me was that Cole is changing things slowly, up to the end Ramsey played his part just like Olivia expected him to, she knew Ramsey would die and made sure that Cole would find him. I am not sure if she knew Cassie would go forward or whether she just dies as I don't think Olivia mentioned her at the end (perhaps to keep the issue up in the air). I can only conclude that Olivia knows that Cassie went forward as she implies that Cole is on his own and without Cassie, if she had died then and there she could not leave the message in 2017. Small changes are occurring that don't seem to be enough to completely change the future, although I do think that the 2017 when Cassie died in Cole's arms may no longer exist. As I have said in my earlier post Cassie is not actually required to set it all up, just her watch, a skeleton left in the right place and a radio message that could easily have been pre-recorded. Cole has changed fate by his actions even though the future does not appear to have changed, the fate of Cassie and now Ramsey is no longer fixed as Olivia believes it to be, it may be that she is being fed rubbish by the real witness just like Olivia was feeding Ramsey. Which bring me back to the whole point of the episode, fate is not certain and can be changed by one thing only, we saw it in Cole's eyes as he said goodbye to Cassie and then when he changed his mind and went back for Ramsey. From everything I have seen there are only a few candidates that could possibly be the witness, to qualify they must have maximum exposure to everything that happens to explain their prior knowledge, in my opinion they are: COLE - Must be at top of list as he is present for every major splinter point, only weak link is that he supposedly cant travel back to 2043 anymore but I suspect he could travel further back. CASSIE - Would explain why Olivia thinks Cole disappears/has no further impact and why she thinks Ramsey died as she went forward immediately after. Someone else we haven't seen that much of such as Dr Jones husband for 7 days or Aaron as we don't actually see him die, to be honest really only Cassie and Cole have the prior knowledge of events needed to make it work. Jennifer was called just a few moments after meeting with Cole and Cassie which implies definite fore knowledge on someone's part. From what Jennifer says it seems the person on the other end of the phone asks if they are gone, which points to her not being watched. Its a bit of a ramble I know, sorry if its been covered already.
I also thought the pale people was looking pretty beat for only 28. They appeared to have started out as regular babies, without super pale and crusty skin, so perhaps it all is related to whatever was done to them by Olivia or a side effect of excessive time travel? To me, time travel accelerating aging makes a lot more sense than the anti- aging due to time travel injections explaination we were given to explain why Ramse had not aged.
I also wondering what the point was of sending Cassie to the future for medical help (aside from creating drama/ cliff hanger). Perhaps science is much more advanced, or perhaps it was simply the only option to give Cassie a chance? We know from the last episode when Cole was dying and Cassie went to Jones for help, the 2015 version of Jones told Cassie she was the wrong kind of doctor. However, Jones is brilliant and she is highly motivated to save Cassie since it's now been established Cassie is important.
I didn't get to watch last weeks episode until days after it aired so I went into it expecting to see 'smurf people' based on what people were saying, but I paused it to get a clear view and they just looked like they all needed a major skin exfoliation, a good moisturizer and some time in the sun. :) My guess is it has something to do with what Olivia did to them and/or excessive time travel.
I got the sense Olivia has been using her voice to control and influence people in a hypnotic way. I thought it seemed like Cassie was being conditioned by Olivia to be a 'sleeper' agent of some sort to be 'activated' when the time called for it. Seeing the red foliage triggers something in her. I believe Olivia did the same hypnotic thing with Jennifer, and also with the politician.
We know that Cole traveled without the need of a time machine in the past, so it's safe to assume that Cassie wouldn't need a working time machine in 2015 to go back. That earlier injection is what worry me. We don't know how it affects (for the better or worse) the person injected with - maybe preventing the sickness?
I am really in awe about the 12 blue men/women (have we spotted an woman amongst them? can't recall...). Don't know the outcome for them in the future or why of their existence.
I am almost sure that Jennifer is not carrying the viruses in those baggages. Perhaps the Dodos LOL yeah, I believe it's just a red herring from the writers messing up with the movie - they've done it before, thankfully it didn't turn bad for Cole, but for his father.
One final thought: I think we haven't met the witness. The strange thing is that Cassie seemed connected to him/her - I am pretty clueless about why the writers associate the red forest, the witness and Cassie even though she seems to be dispensable to Olivia.
Overall a solid finale, well written 1st season. Can't wait for season 2.
Maybe the Witness has some sort of psychic ability. ha I don't know. I just don't think it could be Cole or Cassie cause then they'd be fighting themselves.
I think future Jones has enough medical training to save someone from a gunshot wound. She's been looking after Cole all this season (with help of the other doctors) and I assume is the one who patched him up after Aaron accidentally shot his other self in the Red Forest episode (we see him getting patched up briefly in a flashback/memory).
Right now they are the only characters we have met who have been at each of the major decision points, perhaps more will be introduced next season.
Only Cassie and Cole could possibly know enough about times/dates etc to be able to feed Olivia with all the information, she clearly knows whats going to happen at least up until Cole changed his mind at the end of the episode and went back fro Ramsey.
Which would fit Cassie best as I explained in the post as Cole would know that Ramsey survives but Cassie would not as she splintered forward.
Only those two fit right now and unfortunately we have a long wait for the next season. Even though Cassie has gone forward I fully expect her to return at some point next season, she may not be in the future for long at all.
It is clear that the 12 monkeys were not expecting anyone to be coming from the past, they showed genuine surprise when the machine activated which means whatever plans Olivia had for them in 2043 is now up in the air.
I just need a lot more evidence to even begin consider that because at this point I don't believe the writers would ever do that - Cole and Cassie would be my last suspects as the Witness - right after me being the Witness. lol It wouldn't make sense for the characters and would mess everything up in my opinion.
There is no reason why you should worry as it is merely speculation, it is just based on the first season I cant see it being anyone else, by the end of next season everything could and probably will be turned on its head. Perhaps they messed up and older versions of themselves wanted to put things right. As I said it is harmless speculation, just hope the ratings are good when the show comes back next year after such a long hiatus.
Me too. At least it's not unusual. Syfy shows are pretty much all 13 episodes and only run for 3-4 months every year. Hopefully 12 Monkeys is like a previous Syfy show I watched that aired Jan-March/April too and remains pretty steady. It needs it. With its current ratings it can't afford to drop more or there won't be another season. Though I'm always more concerned with how a show will end than when it ends.
FUCKING HELL WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTT??? I know I'm late to the party but right now I have so many questions!!!
-So... everything that has happened in all the episodes, was supposed to happen right? I mean, Cole wasn't "changing" anything, he was just part of that past? -Jones always knew who Cole and Cassie were? Or she began knowing them when he sent Cole back to 2015? Because she had a weird face when she saw that card in the last episode. -Why Cole started having those "flashbacks" exactly when he was sent to the alternative timeline in 'Red Forest'? -How the fuck will the future change if, as Olivia said, the past was already written. Cassie is now in 2043, so how will she ever die in Cole's arms in 2017, as it's supposed to happen? -What happened to Cole's mom? -Why are those 12 blue? lol -I wanted more Cassie/Cole scenes :(
Generally, it was an amazing finale. I can't wait for season two!!!!!!!!
I was thinking... Cole didn't change anything in Red Forest, it was always his past to return and save Cassie, and then she would send the message and die in the CDC. I never understood why he started having those visions after that, or why he didn't remember Cassie or Jones, if it was part of his past.
I made a mistake scrolling through. There's a lot of conversation going on here. It's not a big deal. There's plenty of people who comment on conversations they weren't previously in.
I've so far been lucky with Syfy. My previous shows have all had time to wrap up before getting cancelled on this channel. But then, I only had 2 shows end on it so far -one got 4 seasons, the other a 5th short season.
That's not an issue, it's just that you took my statement to the letter (; internet issues, I also suffer from it from time to time (as it may be my case concerning ivan's post - perhaps I read too much into it)
Q. Olivia says that Ramse is supposed to be found dead. So, by Cole saving him, he has actually changed time, correct?
A: The message of the season is that the only thing more powerful than fate is love. We did that through two love stories, in a way—through Cole and Cassie, and through this brother love story with Cole and Ramse. So, yes, something has changed. Her omniscient view of the years may not be as exact as she thought.
Apparently in season 2 it's Cassie struggling with a darkside instead of Cole. She changed him and now is losing herself and has to find her way back. :/
EXACTLY!!, I thought exactly the same when I heard about why Ramsey looked young, I was like... what??, that makes no sense at all!!, besides that's very limiting to the show, especially for a cable show that returns every year the actors get older (as we all do) what's the matter with that??, so now Cole and Cassie will stay forever young too??, that was lame,
Now that I re-watched the episode I notice that in fact sending Cassie to the future (not past, sorry), was the best option they had, because apparently the laboratory was far away from any hospital and an ambulance wouldn't make it on time, so a time travel was the best option because Jones would attend her, a very risky move considering that they don't really know what was happening but well... and yeah she wasn't a regular doctor but she took a bullet out of Cole's shoulder once so she can help Cassie too.
One last thing did you think that shooting Ramsey was like an act revenge from Cassie towards Cole, you know for letting Aaron die in the fire??, because that, "he made his choice" line was very suspicious, it sounded very much like you killed my friend I'll kill yours, well at least I feel it that way, anyway, I LOVED THE EPISODE!!, I didn't understand half of it but it was intriguing and that's good.
I got the same idea from various interview and stuff about season 2. Not fan this turn of events, tbh. And also Cassie is stuck in 2043 for awhile, and it's not gonna be a vacation for her. I only can imagine what she'll have to go trough. So Cassie/Cole reunion take time. It's not gonna happen in a few first episodes that's for sure. And I'm probably the one who's not so trilled about Cassie in future story line and in what it can be evolve too.
I literally will be pray for that. I hope writers understand why Cole and Cassie got so much support instantly. I don't if we can count on something, but they have swapped their roles, so can it Cole who will lend care and support to Cassie this time?
1943?? in the world war II??, lol, you mean 2043, right??, well I don't remember the episodes' name but I think it was the 3rd. episode when Cole traveled to 2014 I guess and Cassie asked him not to look for her, that was my less favorite episode.
very good ending, loved it and we all know when fans get the couples they want together ratings plummet & shows get cancelled so i am thankful for the slight cosmic interruption
It depends. Dragging couple to the point when fans stop caring it's also not good idea. But we only on season one so... As for the couple getting together. I say one thing. If writers manage to keep interest majority of fans to the couple after they got together without some drastic moves to separate them, I call it a good writing.
I can tolerate that Cassie turning dark with one condition, if Cole will be the one who brings her humanity back. And that we will witness the healing process. And the more I found out about Cassie in 2043, the more I don't like it.
oh yeah 2043. Time travel is confusing me. I also liked that one less than the others because Cole and Cassie didn't interact much. But it gave interesting insight into Cassie's life after Cole showed up and disapeared, so I rated it a little higher
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I AM AT THIS VERY MOMENT CALLING 911

That See You Soon may as well be a lovers goodbye.
ReplyDeleteI definitely thought they'd kiss! UGH so frustrating!
ReplyDeleteYes, but their love was knowledged twice, so there's that!
ReplyDeletewhen?
ReplyDelete"See You Soon" is DEFINITELY their "Always" from Castle and Beckett and "Don't Freak Out" from Chuck and Sarah. They also cut Cole and Cassie sitting in bed
ReplyDeleteIn the beginning with Cole's monologue, when he says "someone you love" the camera is on a smiling Cassie, and when Ramse tells him he loves Cassie
ReplyDeleteI was so sure they would when they were barely apart while she was lying in the chair I was frustrated too! I was like "Kiss, dang it!" lol
ReplyDeletesame or when Cole went to the console i thought she wold say "I Love You"
ReplyDeleteoh okay, but we got COLE'S feelings not Cassie's right?
ReplyDeleteI think her feelings are pretty obvious, tbh. Jones already knowledged it last episode :)
ReplyDeleteso Cole DID change things with saving Ramse and ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sending Cassie to the future? i knew the Blue Man Group were the 12 but didn't jump to the 12 MONKEYS are you sure? i'm still confused, if Ramse was never The Witness the who is, did we see him? i don't think they'd do that to us, i trust them THAT much, Cassie will come back to 2015 or 2016 i guess, depending on the show's timeline. I don't think Aaron is dead.
Loved that Ramse and Cole were together in the end. Cole couldn't let him die and Ramse didn't want Cole to watch her die again (that's how I saw it).
which means he changed things right? by saving Ramse. No there is no way in heck that Aaron survived that
ReplyDeleteI always assumed the 12 = 12 Monkeys. It would just be a name for their group.
ReplyDeleteSomeone brought up that it's likely Olivia is the Witness since she knew about Ramse's fate.
Cole thought Ramse was the Witness. The writers never made a conformation.
Olivia's team doesn't know Cole changed things yet. They've underestimated one factor: love. It seems love can change fate. :)
yeah seems like it can, both BROTHERLY love and ROMANTIC love. But i mean even before, Cole wasn't going to stop, so what makes them think that he's not a problem? i guess it makes sense that the 12 are also the Monkeys. OLIVIA The Witness, hmm could be
ReplyDeleteYeah I can go for them earning those moments. I'm okay without the kiss. I'm upset about the season ending with them separated though but know the writers can't keep them apart long. They can't!
ReplyDeleteThe Witness could be Olivia or her father? All those predictions. The way she talked about Ramse's fate seemed to hint that.
I love that the bromance is saved!
I can see Aaron surprising us all and coming back with a charred face back for revenge.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember when they said he wasn't a threat? But maybe they just think they've got all the power? IDK
ReplyDeleteThat's a scary thought. But the spoilers said someone would die...
ReplyDeleteHe will be back in what capacity I don't know. The show runners said so much in an interview.
ReplyDeleteI need season two NOW. I loved it when he turned Cassie into a time traveler. And he even saved Ramse. Amazing finale! I need more!
ReplyDeleteAh, scar face it is.
ReplyDeleteno they just thought that he would go into obscurity, hence no threat to them
ReplyDeleteor Darth Vader LOL
ReplyDeleteIf Aaron is the Witness, then it explains the mask that Cassie described.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good episode but not the best, truthfully I'm a little disappointed.
ReplyDeleteI'll start with the bad:
- A lot of things were rushed that shouldn't have been and didn't need to be
(Ramse switching sides again, the Aaron fallout)
- The blue people being the 12 Monkeys was too predictable
(Thought it when we first saw them in the promo photos)
- A lot of characters had sudden personality changes
(Cole and Cassie got way darker)
And now the good:
- Everything involving Jones was very good
- Cole and Cassie had a couple of nice moments
Overall I would have preferred if they'd extended it to deal with the emotions of it more. I also think they should have revealed more about the 12 Monkeys and Jennifer, since I found neither reveals surprising at all.
I'd be glad Ramse and Cole were friends again if it wasn't so rushed and I was actually sure Ramse wasn't just faking it.
I am glad Cassie is time travelling now and she and Jones are re-united again. I'm also so so glad they didn't kill off Jones :)
The wait for season 2 is going to kill me though...I've no idea how I'm going to get through it.
That is an idea, but I wonder then how does the Witness know so much? Aaron was more a pawn than anything.
ReplyDeleteDamn, I was 100% sure that there would be a kiss or at least a "I love you" when Cole touched her face. But guess what? "They are not there yet".
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who watches the show just to see what Barbara Sukowa will do next.
ReplyDeleteAll in all though, that was a brilliant finale and it really solidified in my mind that I haven't seen a Sci-Fi show this good since Battlestar finished. Season 2 can't come fast enough.
Yeah, it did feel a little rushed and Cole and Cassie being darker seemed a little ooc (mostly Cassie cause Cole's always had that darker side) but it could be explained by Aaron's betrayal affecting them I guess.
ReplyDeleteGood theory. I had a similar theory that maybe Cole's father died sooner than expected because maybe there was a change in timeline after saving Cassie -hence as you said, the visions/new memories Cole kept having.
ReplyDeleteOlivia was talking about his fate.
ReplyDeleteThat was Cole's fate if Ramse died, but he changed that by going back for Ramse and becoming determined to find a way to beat the enemy.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you'd think after watching Sci-fi for most of my life I'd learn you need a body to confirm death (and even then a body doesn't always mean anything).
ReplyDeleteWell if Cassie doesn't time travel often in theory she shouldn't get sick like Cole did (Ramse was fine for many, many years because he only traveled once) and eventually they can find a way to fix her cell changes due to time travel later. Also, the injection was an earlier form, so it is possible it could affect her in a different way?
ReplyDeleteMy Questions - Too many!
(Confirmation would be nice)
- Would it be possible to save the past and the future? Like can they save Cassie, 7 billion people, and Sam? You know with love seemingly becoming a force to be reckoned with?
Theories:
Right now, the only one I'm pretty sure about is Cole and Ramse become friends again after saving him and they team up trying to save everyone.
Ummm someone theorized on Tumblr that having visions of the Red Forest triggered something in Cassie so that she was more gun-ho. (Phrasing it in my own words here)
ReplyDeleteI think it would be too easy for Jennifer to be the one to release the Virus as it all (according to Jones and Cole etc) happened across the globe at the same time so her world tour doesn't really answer how she sets it off all at once. At this moment she seems more like a Pawn than a Queen.
ReplyDeleteI swear there was one injection left in the case when Cole went to Tokyo so it might be interesting for Cassie to spend a long time in the future and only come back with the final injection.
Well Mr. Jones just kind of disappeared after talking to Ramse so I can't even begin to guess.
ReplyDeleteJones' protector is Whitley.
Yeah Jennifer to me is more of a pawn - that's why the ending threw me off.
Was that Jones' husband. It was unclear to me. Then again, you don't hire Peter Outerbridge for just a one off appearance, I think they were probably laying the groundwork for next season I assume.
ReplyDeletewell they SHOULD be there after all they've been through
ReplyDeleteyeah they are
ReplyDeletetotally LOL
ReplyDeleteThey called him "Mr. Jones" at one point. Totally caught me off guard lol I had a deer in highlights look for a moment since I was in the middle of posting a comment online. I was like "wait a second!"
ReplyDeleteyeah he mentioned a person called "Kat" and the used a German accent to imitate her and the closed caption put "Elliot" and "Ramse called him "Dr. Jones"
ReplyDeleteAll I can say now... Show almost lost me as a viewer. Because writers
ReplyDeletelost any sense of logic in order to create so called drama. They had that flaw
before but I preferred to ignore that. But they crossed the line tonight.
Sometimes all that twist and turns don't feel natural. And they said in
interview that they intend to go darker, exploring more relationships, more
emotional... It can be good thing, but not with writers like that. And I don't
appreciate what they doing with characters also. I understand that Cassie is
not the same person as she was before. She just can't be the same after all
she's being trough. But that women in episode is not Cassie at all. Even the
fact that Ramse is not the witness and his some sort of redemption in episode
don't make it better for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally confused!!, so the 12 blue men were the 12 babies this crazy bitch had in the office, (they look a little older than 28 years old), so the plan was to create another humankind of blue men??, but there were no women... the Ramsey turned out not to be the witness so who the fuck is??!!, and taking Cassie to the past was more effective than taking her to a hospital because..., well, maybe because Jones had a mini hospital in "her place", well I don't know, i think I need to re-watch this episode and rewind it like 10 times if it's possible because I just don't get it right now.
ReplyDeleteGuessing sending Cassie to the future would be quicker. She had a more life-threatening gunshot than Ramse.
ReplyDeleteCan't help you on the blue men.
First of all I need to cool my head of or I can say something that I will regret later. Anyway besides disappointment I still got other emotions from the episode. It's a good thing, right?)
ReplyDeleteAwesome/Unbelievable season 1 finale (No Spoilers), but don't leave Jennifer with the wrong "monkey"! #MAKEENOUGHTIME4CASSIE! 2016, why so long SyFy? 4
ReplyDelete4 THE MAD/MONKEY/SCIENCE (JENNIFER/COLE/CASSIE), I am Nobody!!!
Sometimes times helps. I have had so many shows do something I don't like and eventually can move past it. Mostly it's been sudden, pointless deaths of characters I loved or a beloved character going bad/dark.
ReplyDeleteactually they'e apparently NOT blue, it was just the lighting making them look blue LOL, it was confirmed by the creators
ReplyDeleteI'm doing most irrational thing right now. I'm re watching the episode.
ReplyDeleteYeah they're just really pale. But blue, pale, sometimes it looks the same. I'll say I look a little blue after no sun all winter. lol
ReplyDeleteAlready did that. I tweet the first time so I always watch again after. I wasn't going to stay up to buy the episode on amazon but jeez I'm like an hour away from it being uploaded and it's Saturday now, so I might as well wait now.
ReplyDeleteLOL, the creators were actually surprised people thought they were blue HA!
ReplyDeleteI do my second watch usually after some time.
ReplyDeleteOk so Ramsey is not the witness and Cassie is in the future.
ReplyDeleteDon't panic shippers, nothing seems to have changed in the future when Cassie arrives there.
ReplyDeletethat stinks, i don't want that for Cassie, The creators said that Cassie brought back Cole's humanity but she's losing hers ad i don't like that
ReplyDeletewe saw her in "Tomorrow" though
ReplyDeleteI don't like that either. Seems to me she's the only good and selfless person in this show. Everyone else have their own little secrets.
ReplyDeleteYeah I know but that scene may have been triggered by Cassie knowing how she will die in advance as she was told by Cole.
ReplyDeleteNot only that the room looked different from where Cole supposedly found her body and she did not make any radio message that I saw, there did not seem to be any radio equipment near either.
It may be nothing but it doesn't quite fit
Just watched episode, earlier post was based on spoilers I had seen.
ReplyDeleteMain thing from the episode for me was that Cole is changing things slowly, up to the end Ramsey played his part just like Olivia expected him to, she knew Ramsey would die and made sure that Cole would find him.
From everything I have seen there are only a few candidates that could possibly be the witness, to qualify they must have maximum exposure to everything that happens to explain their prior knowledge, in my opinion they are:
COLE - Must be at top of list as he is present for every major splinter point, only weak link is that he supposedly cant travel back to 2043 anymore but I suspect he could travel further back.
ReplyDeleteI also wondering what the point was of sending Cassie to the future for medical help (aside from creating drama/ cliff hanger).
ReplyDeleteWhat are we supposed to do until next year? Have mercy and give us the next season sooner!!! PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
ReplyDeleteI got the sense Olivia has been using her voice to control and influence people in a hypnotic way.
ReplyDeleteOr GAY love LOL Totally shipping Cole and Ramse: Ramole.
ReplyDeleteWe know that Cole traveled without the need of a time machine in the past, so it's safe to assume that Cassie wouldn't need a working time machine in 2015 to go back. That earlier injection is what worry me. We don't know how it affects (for the better or worse) the person injected with - maybe preventing the sickness?
ReplyDeleteI am really in awe about the 12 blue men/women (have we spotted an woman amongst them? can't recall...).
Matalas said when eventually get Cassie and Cole back in the same timeline, “Their dynamic is going to be much different.”
ReplyDeleteYes, in that moment she was.
ReplyDeleteAbout the blue/pale people - yeah I thought I saw at least 1 woman in the group briefly.
ReplyDeleteNah I don't see them that way, but to each their own.
ReplyDeleteThat makes me worry, even though it's vague enough that it could be a good thing. I really don't want to lose the cute moments.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the Witness has some sort of psychic ability. ha I don't know. I just don't think it could be Cole or Cassie cause then they'd be fighting themselves.
ReplyDeleteI think future Jones has enough medical training to save someone from a gunshot wound. She's been looking after Cole all this season (with help of the other doctors) and I assume is the one who patched him up after Aaron accidentally shot his other self in the Red Forest episode (we see him getting patched up briefly in a flashback/memory).
ReplyDeleteyeah me too, that was for comic relief and bc I am not homophobic.
ReplyDeleteHis name was Ari Tasarov on Nikita. He was awesome.
ReplyDeleteit's been a hell of a ride, i'm gonna miss this show
ReplyDeleteOMG! I forgot about the masked dude.
ReplyDeleteRight now they are the only characters we have met who have been at each of the major decision points, perhaps more will be introduced next season.
ReplyDeleteOnly Cassie and Cole could possibly know enough about times/dates etc to be able to feed Olivia with all the information, she clearly knows whats going to happen at least up until Cole changed his mind at the end of the episode and went back fro Ramsey.
ReplyDeleteI cried too.
ReplyDeleteAnd he played Ari on Nikita.
Hard to read humor on here. And good, I'm not neither, but I've never been into slashing bromances.
ReplyDeleteThere is no reason why you should worry as it is merely speculation, it is just based on the first season I cant see it being anyone else, by the end of next season everything could and probably will be turned on its head.
ReplyDeletePerhaps they messed up and older versions of themselves wanted to put things right.
ReplyDeleteIt needs it. With its current ratings it can't afford to drop more or there won't be another season.
Though I'm always more concerned with how a show will end than when it ends.
Syfy has been known in the past be a bit sharp with the cancel hammer, if they give the show a chance it has cult status written all over it.
ReplyDeleteAlas many shows deserving of time don't get it.
FUCKING HELL WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTT???
ReplyDeleteI know I'm late to the party but right now I have so many questions!!!
-So... everything that has happened in all the episodes, was supposed to happen right?
-Why are those 12 blue? lol
-I wanted more Cassie/Cole scenes :(
Generally, it was an amazing finale. I can't wait for season two!!!!!!!!
I was thinking... Cole didn't change anything in Red Forest, it was always his past to return and save Cassie, and then she would send the message and die in the CDC.
ReplyDeleteI never understood why he started having those visions after that, or why he didn't remember Cassie or Jones, if it was part of his past.
My money was and still is on Cole and i still believe there are 2 Coles running around lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering who was sitting on the other side from Jennifer in the plane..that person may as well be the witness.
ReplyDeleteWell, perhaps you couldn't 'cause I answered someone else's post (ivan) not you. And it meant to be ironic.
ReplyDeleteI guess we all have the same questions and many more! And we definetely have a lot of time to think and talk about them!
ReplyDeleteI made a mistake scrolling through. There's a lot of conversation going on here. It's not a big deal. There's plenty of people who comment on conversations they weren't previously in.
ReplyDeleteI've so far been lucky with Syfy. My previous shows have all had time to wrap up before getting cancelled on this channel. But then, I only had 2 shows end on it so far -one got 4 seasons, the other a 5th short season.
ReplyDeleteThat's not an issue, it's just that you took my statement to the letter (; internet issues, I also suffer from it from time to time (as it may be my case concerning ivan's post - perhaps I read too much into it)
ReplyDeleteWe need some emoticons. ha
ReplyDeleteConfirmation from EW interview:
ReplyDeleteQ.
Her omniscient view of the years may not be as exact as she thought.
xxxx
Yay! They're getting all Fringe-y.
link: http://www.ew.com/article/2015/04/10/12-monkeys-season2-spoilers
Apparently in season 2 it's Cassie struggling with a darkside instead of Cole. She changed him and now is losing herself and has to find her way back. :/
ReplyDeleteReally??, well in my screen they look blue!! ;P
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY!!, I thought exactly the same when I heard about why Ramsey looked young, I was like... what??, that makes no sense at all!!, besides that's very limiting to the show, especially for a cable show that returns every year the actors get older (as we all do) what's the matter with that??, so now Cole and Cassie will stay forever young too??, that was lame,
ReplyDeleteNow that I re-watched the episode I notice that in fact sending Cassie to the future (not past, sorry), was the best option they had, because apparently the laboratory was far away from any hospital and an ambulance wouldn't make it on time, so a time travel was the best option because Jones would attend her, a very risky move considering that they don't really know what was happening but well... and yeah she wasn't a regular doctor but she took a bullet out of Cole's shoulder once so she can help Cassie too.
I think the only episode bellow "Awesome" this season was the one where Cole travelled back two days in 1943 and Deacon attacked the facility.
ReplyDeleteI got the same idea from various interview and stuff about season 2.
ReplyDeleteI literally will be pray for that. I hope writers understand why Cole and Cassie got so much support instantly. I don't if we can count on something, but they have swapped their roles, so can it Cole who will lend care and support to Cassie this time?
ReplyDeletea story about love you mean right? because Fringe at its heart was a story about love and family
ReplyDeletethe creators aid that the makeup makes the women look more like young men, that why it's harder to tell the women apart
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU! i can't believe i forgot! he was in EVERY season LOL and yeah he was
ReplyDeleteit was the lighting making them look blue
ReplyDeleteCole changed the future by saving Ramse, Ramse was supposed to die and Cassie was never supposed to be sent to the future
ReplyDeleteLOL!! Ramole... that sounds really funny!!
ReplyDelete1943?? in the world war II??, lol, you mean 2043, right??, well I don't remember the episodes' name but I think it was the 3rd. episode when Cole traveled to 2014 I guess and Cassie asked him not to look for her, that was my less favorite episode.
ReplyDeletevery good ending, loved it and we all know when fans get the couples they want together ratings plummet & shows get cancelled so i am thankful for the slight cosmic interruption
ReplyDeleteIt depends. Dragging couple to the point when fans stop caring it's also not good idea. But we only on season one so... As for the couple getting together. I say one thing. If writers manage to keep interest majority of fans to the couple after they got together without some drastic moves to separate them, I call it a good writing.
ReplyDeletei agree
ReplyDeleteI totally understand what you mean. Totally. As the saying goes: Been there, done that.
ReplyDeleteI'm not happy about it either.
ReplyDeletesee how you got there? ahah
ReplyDeleteI can tolerate that Cassie turning dark with one condition, if Cole will be the one who brings her humanity back. And that we will witness the healing process.
ReplyDeleteAnd the more I found out about Cassie in 2043, the more I don't like it.
oh yeah 2043. Time travel is confusing me. I also liked that one less than the others because Cole and Cassie didn't interact much. But it gave interesting insight into Cassie's life after Cole showed up and disapeared, so I rated it a little higher
ReplyDelete
