Miss Detective Carter on Person of Interest? Well, we've got good news for you!

The April 14 episode of the CBS drama will feature the return of Joss Carter (Taraji P. Henson) for a one-episode guest spot, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. Carter was last seen on the show in Season 3, when her investigation into corrupt cop organization HR got her killed.
Check out all this week's Mega Buzz scoop!

Carter will appear in flashbacks during an episode that finds Reese (Jim Caviezel) going solo on a perilous and personal journey to solve a cold homicide case Carter was never able to close. Will John be able to take care of her unfinished business? (Check out an exclusive image and script page below!)

  1. Nice! Be nice to see her back. Still sad that she's gone, tbh.

  2. Sweet! Man is she missed!

  3. Guess this development'll put to rest the absurd speculation that Taraji left on bad terms.

Personally, I had a different theory for the episode going in (being more centric to the AI arc), but this works great!

  4. Whoa!! This is awesome.

  5. Complete episode? If so, I will have to try extra hard to stay away from possible spoilers.

  6. This is very very nice, I am very glad about this.

  7. There may or may not be screeners for this one to guys here, IGN, TV.Com, AV Club, and the rest of the guys. If it were, Bradley would've probably known it by now.

  8. Cool news! I was sad when she's gone but then I got Cookie Lyon. Best thing ever.

  9. You guys'd probably know about screener status soon (if it were the case) right?

  10. I like this news. Not a fan of her character on Empire(or the series in general), so I'll thrilled to see her back on POI since I've been a fan of her since Smokin' Aces.

  11. Well it could still deal with the Samaritan on Finch and Root's side of things.

  12. BUT.... if this is just for more Reese manpain, I wouldn't be all that upset if they choose to kill him off somewhere down the road.

  13. I am looking forward to this episode now !

  14. Certainly hope so, cause Amy & Michael are part of the event where they're screening this! Be a little off-kilter, if they weren't around much now, would it? :)

  15. I would expect a screener (if we get one) on Wednesday or Thursday. Hopefully we do - if they're screening at Paley then no reason why they shouldn't send out a screener.

  16. Awesome. So the write-up would be out by Saturday correct?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Definitely by Saturday evening (we may get it late Friday night too). I will try to get it up as quick as I can though.

  18. Excellent. I'm happy for this development, but it better not come at the cost of shaving time off the main arc.

  19. Yeah, same here.

  20. She left because she wanted to and broke my heart so I have not forgiven her. I just hope it does not detract from the fantastic work the Shaw and Root characters have been doing since her departure. I love the Finch/John/Fusco/Shaw/Root dynamic. And,yes, I fully expect Shaw to return.

  21. Awesome! This should also put al the rumours at rest that she had a major falling out with the producers.

  22. Will be good to see Carter back in POI. Now, I'm curious to see more of this episode.

  23. People creates crazy theories all the time.

  24. Yes, I knew it it was her since I saw the title, I miss Taraji on POI.

  25. I understand they published the news to gain more viewers, but they also post a video on their Facebook page where Amy says 'Guess who's coming back'. I was like, maybe is Shaw, but then I saw TV Line's post and... SPOILED.

Anyway, I'm glad we'll see her again.

  26. My OCD wants to know if the "2012" is the timeframe of Season 1 or Season 2, and if we've seen something related to this case before (Benny D'Agostino worked for Elias, but he can't be the one they're watching). But I feel like it's been ages since we had any news about the show, so for now I'm just excited!

  27. D'Agostino died around October-November 2011.

  28. Oh MY God I'm going to cry so hard.

  29. I'm happy to see Agent Carter again!! And, just a little thing, I don't know if the title has been released in that original form, but I believe it should be spelled Terra IncognitA, as the adjective Incognita should agree with the "female" name Terra. Or it could very well be a case of "artistic license" ;)

  30. My attitude as well

  31. This is very exciting. Oh, I loved & missed her. I hope they utilize her well.
It's kinda creepy because during early S4, I had this dream about an upcoming Carter flashback episode about a case she worked but wasn't solved. :P I actually tweeted it to the POIwriters haha.
Also I hope it _finally_ stops the bad-mouthing some Carter fans have been putting up since 3.09 w/ wild theories of why & how she left. She wouldn't return if they hat treated her bad - she has a pretty big hit w/ Empire! Plus, they even said back then they'd love to have her in a flashback. Sooo...?
Anyway, 3.10 was such a great tribute to her, I wasn't even really mad about losing her anymore.

If there's lots of flashbacks (I'd assume so, there's also the Reese-Carter dialog tease), that takes a bit of screentime away from Samaritan. Then they could've just thrown away 4.16 or 4.17 (moving the Finch flashbacks to a worthy episode) and put the Carter ep there. :P I'm a bit optimistic, though.
After the Iris/Reese thing I'm mostly sceptic about plots evolving around Reese (therapy was a nice idea, but got stuck, didn't move anymore and just had to become a romance w/ so unequal risks and 'investment'. Plus, she's not much developed....)

I just hope they did this right. The gap after the trilogy (+M.I.A.) was exhausting, 4.18 gave us awesome Root/Finch scenes. I'm thirsty for a bad-ass ride. :P
