7th August 2015 - Director Implies That Fox Wrecked His Movie
Director Josh Trank suggested on Thursday that he wasn’t responsible for the final cut of “Fantastic Four,” which has been widely panned by critics prior to its opening on Friday.
“A year ago I had a fantastic version of this. And it would’ve received great reviews,” the filmmaker wrote on Twitter. “You’ll probably never see it. That’s reality though.”
The tweet was quickly deleted from his account.
A spokesman for 20th Century Fox could not be reached for comment.

I am going to watch this film so I can laugh about it.
ReplyDeleteI may watch this on TV eventually but there's no way I'm paying for it.
ReplyDeleteI can't muster up any real excitement for this movie... super low standards, and I'm mostly expecting it to be bad...
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to pirate this movie :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not as pessimistic as most about it though, I think I'll enjoy it in the same way I enjoy the Transformers movies.
Looking better and better everytime.
ReplyDeletedefinitely a straight to bluray film for me.
ReplyDeleteNew trailer was amazing. Cast has great chemistry and the visual effects are amazing!
ReplyDeleteWell that was a completely new trailer, so YAY for that. It still looks pretty mediocre though.
ReplyDeleteReed (Mr. Fantastic) can warp the space around him. WTF is that supposed to even mean?
ReplyDeleteWarp space around him?
ReplyDeletew...t.... f...? Warp space around him? https://youtu.be/M5QGkOGZubQ
ReplyDeleteIt means that FOX has lost it....
ReplyDeleteI think they are too obsessed with making the FF more realistic
Yeah... I don't get it either...
ReplyDeleteUmmm....I don't know about this!I'm not feeling it.
ReplyDeleteI finally saw the trailer the other day and it's very meh. I feel bad because I like the cast they are actually good young actors who I enjoy in other roles but The Fantastic Four is just so blah especially in all the film versions they have done. This just looks like a slightly darker but still corny newer version of the other ones. Why? Why do we need this film? At least the other one with Jessica Alba and Chris Evans seem to know it was cheesy fun and it's a guilty pleasure. This one seems like it's trying so hard to make the Fantastic Four not cheesy when it just is. I mean they have man whose power is he can stretch for a goodness sakes! And one who is turned into a giant rock. Dude there is now way to not have that come across as kind of silly on film. And I say this as someone who watches most superhero or super power style tv shows and films.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Embrace the cheese factor Fox and just let it be a mindless, action super hero movie if you must insist on remaking it. Don't bother trying to make some darker version of it. This isn't Daredevil or Batman it's the Fantastic Four. It's not an easy one to make dark or serious.
ReplyDeleteCarl's power is awesome. :p
ReplyDeleteFantastic Four, Fantastic Cast, Fantastic Posters, Fantastic Trailer.
ReplyDeleteDon't know what everyone else is complaining about.
Too early for a reboot.
ReplyDeletePointless power change (warp space around him???)
Underwhelming trailers.
I can't say anything about the younger cast since I have no read the comics and don't know what the age of the characters was in them.
Didn't you see the TV spot? You should...
ReplyDeleteWhy do they look like they're villains? Maybe except the girl but they couls totally pass for a villain. Is this suppose to be a gritty version?
ReplyDeleteYeah. afetr all the trailer. I t does not look bad at all.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Actual new footage...
ReplyDeleteWell the last couple of TV spots make it look a bit more fun... *shrugs*
