18th July 2015 - May Not Reach $60 Million Opening Weekend Projection
There’s a chance that Disney Marvel’s Ant-Man could fall under its $60M weekend estimate with a FSS in the upper $50M range.
However, rival distrib sources today say that it’s not a big deal if Ant-Man falls just a bit short of $60M, especially given the safety net of foreign B.O.
If Ant-Man underperforms slightly, it certainly isn’t a repeat of summer 2011 when DC Comics’ cult hero Green Lantern poisoned the box office with a $200M production cost, a $55M domestic bow and even less than par returns abroad ($103.3M foreign B.O. to $116.6M stateside).

29th June 2015 - Kevin Feige Teases That Wasp Will Be Introduced In The Future
Folks who have been clamoring for the Wasp to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe can rest easy… she’s on her way according to Kevin Feige. During an Ant-Man press even, Feige told reporters: “We have plans for her in the future, and we see that not-so-subtly in this film." Now we’ve heard that one of the after credit scenes may be Wasp related and set up he future appearances. And since there hasn’t been an Ant-Man 2 announced yet… the likelihood is we’ll see the Wasp in either Captain America: Civil War or Avengers: Infinity War Part I.

ANT-MAN vs. Yellowjacket:
There will be two big fights between the hero and villain in ANT-MAN; one that takes place in a briefcase as it falls out of a helicopter where they're literally fighting around objects in the case; Lifesavers, keys, an iPhone, etc. and using said objects against one another. The final battle between both characters takes place in Scott Lang's daughters' room on the Thomas the Train set (as seen in the recent trailer). As the battle rages on, we'll see both characters enlarge certain objects while they're still shrunk, accidentally making a giant ant and, eventually, Thomas the Train, which crashes out of the bedroom, crushing a car on the street. Crazy stuff and obviously making full use of the shrinking and enlarging that goes hand-in-hand with ANT-MAN's powers.

AWESOME!!! and FINALLY!!!!
ReplyDeletePaul Rudd. Marvel. Paul Rudd. YES.
ReplyDeleteCan't with these "a promo for a promo" deals...
ReplyDeleteStill it's looking interesting.
I'm gonna guess they'll start promoting this properly once AoU is out worldwide.
Great idea to round up all the news. Looking forward to the new trailer. I know some have doubts about this movie but I still think it can be fun and from what we have seen I Paul Rudd in the role.
ReplyDeletevery good idea, i like it
ReplyDeletehow can he breath in that mask? i don't a nose hole LOL
ReplyDeleteNot sure about this movie, need to see more promotions/previews to help me decide. One thing I'm not sure, is Evangeline Lilly's character: is Hope on the good or bad side?
ReplyDeleteThis is gonna be great.
ReplyDeleteHaha the toy train sequence is awesome!
ReplyDeleteVisually this looks amazing :) Love the look of Yellowjacket. Looking forward to this movie.
ReplyDeleteGreat ending!
Omg I loved the part with Thomas the train.
ReplyDeleteI loved the trailer
At first when i saw the teaser i was like what? but now seeing the latest trailer it looks so awesome!
ReplyDeleteTrailer looks awesome. Actually really quite excited for this.
ReplyDeleteSeems like the new trailer is winning a lot of people over! It looks great and that train set gag at the end was perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks for gathering everything together.
ReplyDeleteIt's still the one Marvel movie I have zero expectations from, but the latest promo stuff is looking like it might be a pretty fun ride.
Hmm, that new trailer actually looks pretty good.
ReplyDeletePretty standard poster if I may say so...
ReplyDeleteThat promo photo of Ant-man coming out of the ground just cracked me up, going to be a fun film I think.
ReplyDeleteI think this movie, like GotG, will surprise those skeptics who think Marvel made a mistake going the way they did. I'm looking forward to watching this movie.
ReplyDeleteToday's June 2nd no the 3rd
ReplyDeleteIt's already the 3rd in some parts of the world.
ReplyDeleteAh well that's confusing to US citizens
ReplyDeleteI might not be terribly excited for this one, but it is looking like it could be some good fun...
ReplyDeleteIt says quite a bit that the only way they can think of to gather some interest and eyes on this right now is if indeed they relate it to the larger picture of the MCU...
ReplyDeleteI think a lot more people are interested than you assume. Also, as a future Avenger they're just trying to help people who aren't as familiar make the connection, which is probably a smart thing.
ReplyDeleteI rarely hear people mention or talk about this one actually. And I don't know anyone who's actually looking forward to it. So I don't think I'm off with my predictions on interest for it.
ReplyDeleteAnd considering the amount of promotion they have spent on this movie (which for Marvel standards is quite demure) I actually don't think they are banking too much on it.
I don't doubt it will be some good fun, but I don't think it will have the surprise critical and box office success that, say, Guardians had.
During the extended promo shown during Jurassic World the entire theater was laughing (it showcased a lot of comedy bits) and they even clapped for it when it was done, and in my case I know lots of people who are looking forward to it. I think it will do very well. But I guess we'll see next month.
ReplyDeleteI saw positive responses too in the theatre when the trailer came on, but nothing that gave me the impression it registered for people enough to be looking forward to it...
ReplyDeleteAs I said I'm sure it will do fine, but I seriously doubt it will hit the regular Marvel standards...
HARPER FORM THE WHISPERS?!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHarper from The Whispers plays his daughter? Aaaaawwwww.....
ReplyDeleteI don't speak jananese but I think that trailer gave up pretty much everything... I feel I can almost skip the movie....
ReplyDeleteOMG Yes! I'm so excited for this! Evi is awesome and will make a perfect Wasp! I'm puking rainbows!
ReplyDeleteShe will be, but she isn't just yet. Janet, her mother, is already dead in the MCU. I have a feeling one of the post credits scenes will show Hope becoming the Wasp.
ReplyDeleteOh ok
ReplyDeleteAmerica makes a trailer and movies it look weird.
ReplyDeleteJapan makes a trailer and suddenly he's Kamen Rider.
This list is pretty sweet! Can't wait for the movie - hopefully it will be good!
ReplyDeleteNeed to watch clip when i can
ReplyDeleteIt looks so hilarious!!!!!

ReplyDeleteOkay so Ant-Man was out here in France the 14 July, in case you're wondering how I got the post-credit scene. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd the last pic that I've posted is the English translation of what Sam and Steve are saying to each other.
Now about that scene, I personally think that Bucky somehow "woke up" and was trying to cut his arm. :S
So it IS real? Whoa that's CRAZY dark if you're right.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME POST-CREDIT SCENE!!!!!!! SAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is real ? The post-credit scene ? Yes ! Or maybe you're talking about Bucky ? It's just a theory...imagine you woke up one day and realize that you're lost a arm like that and had a metallic one remplacing it, what will happen ? :S Yeah If by any chance, i'am right, it would be such a dark and drastic move. :/
ReplyDeleteOk cool, you never know with these things, like the Avenger 2 fake post-credit scene, and yeah i was talking about Bucky, but come on it's still an arm, why would he want to cut off an arm?!
ReplyDelete50 million is still a great start for an opening week. Certainly no Guardians of the Galaxy or Avengers, but pretty great nontheless
