  1. My gut tells me he won't die.
Then again I was sure Lexie was gonna survive the plane crash so what do I know...

  2. I'm 95% sure Derek won't die, but will be a hero of the day, saving that family from the crash.

  3. If Dempsey wants to leave and Pompeo will stay, they have no other option really. Sending him away / leaving his kids and wife is character assassination. It was already strange enough him going to DC and never having mentions of him visiting the kids or him and Meredith even talking about how his leaving would affect them. It feels like a lot of this season has been prepping us for his departure, but you never know with Grey's. I feel like Richard may die, too.

  4. Oh gosh I am so nervous for this episode. Derek is one of those characters you can't kill off.

  5. But killing Derek isn't a solution either. I meam it is a solution but a really poor one.
I hope Richard won't die, instead ride of with Mrs Avery into Urology sunset.

  6. I'd love to see Amelia, Owen, Stef and Jo all bite it. Wouldnt mind Jackson or April saying goodbye either. They certainly need to clear some cast. Getting rid of Derek isn't something I'm rooting for but I can see why Shonda would do it. Like when Lexi died, it only made sense for Mark to die too. It would have been terrible to write him off as leaving Sophia behind

  7. I'm honestly fine with all the characters wouldn't know who to let go atm. Just think they should give some characters more focus and arcs like, Arizona and Japril got earlier this year.

  8. Derek's going to die, Meredith will find out she's pregnant and then she will decide to have an abortion because she can't raise three kids on her own.

  9. They are killing Derek. Oh my god I can't believe it.

  10. He is not going to die, at least in this episode. if you've noticed they never announce big deaths like that before they happen. The fact that his death has been heavily implied makes me think that is is jus there to create hype for the episode. I think a better solution would be to leave him a little mentally impaired. It would really work with him being a neurosurgeon and the fact that meridth is afraid of getting Alzheimer's (not that it is the same thing) but it has alway been her worry the she would get it and not him.

  11. Yea, the show is strongest when it has some sort of focus. There are so many characters that many either get one line per episode or disappear for weeks. This season has felt so all over the place; no clear arcs, lots of dropped storylines, it's like a bunch of random episodes with different lead characters week after week. I know the show will never 100% revolve around Meredith again, but that's when it was at its best, with an anchor who every character had some unique relationship or tie too. Now many lead characters don't even share scenes together for entire seasons.

  12. Agree. I think PD wants out and the only viable way to do this if EP is staying is to make it a noble death. Agree with your comment about Mark below. I think JPJ is going too but not via character death.

  13. If PD wants out then killing Derek is the only solution. Of course it's not what fans want but in order to be respectful to 11 years of MerDer it would be crazy to divorce them, or for Derek to just move somewhere else permanently. It may not happen but that's where my money would go.

  14. I don't think the cast size is the problem. I really like the bigger cast ensemble and the many different iterations of relationships and stories. I think there are two problems - Two characters are very poorly conceived and written (Jo and Steph). The writers could also do better to integrate the characters more with each other.

  15. I really can't imagine any 42-minute drama gracefully handling a cast of 14 regular characters plus all the ones who hover in-and-out of Grey's (Ben, Catherine, etc.) For me it just makes for a really uneven experience with so many characters coming in and out. Ultimately every story suffers because they rarely ever get really fleshed out anymore. It's been a problem for me in the past but S11 particularly has felt super disjointed. Stories only get a few minutes per show so the weight of them gets glossed over. To name a few, Derek leaving for DC, Arizona and Callie's divorce (there's been zero talk of co-parenting, where the heck is Sofia?), April and Jackson dealing with their babies death, Maggie and Richard's relationship, Ben's acceptance of his sister.. I could go on and on. These stories all started then basically got brushed over. With a smaller cast they could have actually been explored... not to mention Bailey and Alex have had literally no storylines all season. It just feels like they're trying to pull off a huge juggling act and the balls are falling all over the place.

  17. They should take him under rec status and than write a beautiful exit for him and Mer next season.
But honestly he has been to reasonable those last couple of eps so he'll probably die.

  18. If they kill him off in a car accident, does anybody see the irony of PD trying to spend more time for car races? Or is that just me?

I agree!! After season 10 both Patrick and Ellen signed a two year contract. Which will bring them both through season 12.

I suspect tonight's episode will have that shocking twist of Mark dying after helping others and him having worse injuries hen were suspected.
    R.I.P Derek Shepherd

  21. I've never seen an episode of the show, mainly because I don't want to start like from season 10 or 11, but from the beginning and that's a lot. But this episode look really good.

  25. The little girl is Julia's daughter on Parenthood right ?

  26. I have been watching those old episodes. I saw the ones from Season 3 in which Meredith drowns (although that one has a happy ending), the season 6 finale, the season 8 finale and the season 9 premiere. Grey's is such an outstanding show throughout the years with all these moments! But I really hope they don't kill him off tonight although it is looking more and more like they will...

  27. I am so scared for tonights episode. I am not prepared.

  28. I didn't watch Parenthood so I wouldn't know but TV Lin has this description for the episode:

Derek rushes to aid a trio of burnt children after witnessing a ghastly car crash. Savannah Paige Rae (aka Parenthood‘s Sydney) guest-stars.
