    I'm torn. On the one hand it looks like they're setting up Derek to die. On the other, that's probably a red herring? I bet the police came over to the house in the last ep to tell Meredith that her husband was involved in a car crash and that he bravely rescued the victims, and that he's been brought to the police station and Meredith can go and pick him up.

    They showed in the promo how he was trying to get the injured guy away from the car before it explodes. And then the next scene showed BOOOOM.

    After the last episode. I think Richard is going to die. Derek will be fine.
    Maybe I'm totally wrong, but that's my thought until proofen wrong. :p

    I think the same!! I'm not so sure if they're just playing with our emotions or this is going to be the end of our Dr, McDreamy. And the lights at the end of the episode?? when she picked up the phone to start making phone calls and the lights appears??? are they going to tell her that her husband is dead? or are they going to bring McDreamy alive ???

    Geez. Don't even start...I mean, I had this weird feeling Richard was/is going to die too. Ugh. And it came just after I realized once again how much I love his character (in the opening scene - which reminded me of his small crash back in S6 before the merger; also left me anxious for a sec there, worried for his safety), he is kinda the heart of the show after all.

    Those are the parts of the sides that I think tell what will happen to Derek, I put the names that I thought were the ones of the characters in those scenes.
    I think he will die but I hope I am wrong, but the truth is that Dempsey won't be in Greys anymore so that's the only viable way to break MerDer.

    ICU – NIGHT – Meredith enters and sees her husband lying in the bed. Turns to the doctor. What happened? He arrived with multiple injuries. Hypotensive, flail chest and intra-abdominal bleeding. We stabilized him in the ER. Inserted a chest tube. Transfused him two units. There was no time for a CT, we had to intubate him and get him to the OR. It was there we found he had an epidural bleed. Despite our best efforts…your brother’s shown no sign of brain activity. For how long? Twelve hours. Thank you. I am so sorry. I know that’s useless to you right now, but…I am. Amelia starts to cry, Amelia doesn’t want to look at her. Leave. Please. Emotional, Amelia starts to walk away when she comes face to face with Dr. Cohn. She tells him that it was her job to save him, and she failed. He’s going to die.
    ICU, NIGHT – Dr. Cohn enters, nervous. Ma'am? Meredith turns to see…Dr. Cohn, has appeared out of nowhere. Dr. Cohn looks nervous and mortified and intensely freaked out. Meredith just stares at him. Uncomfortable Dr. Cohn clears his throat. Ma'am, I can’t tell you…how sorry I am for your loss. Your husband was an extraordinary man. I…it was an honor to..And here he shuts up. Because Meredith turns and looks at him so cold and angry.

    Guys, did you notice the shots of OTHER hospital? And Mer in it, in the waiting room? I am sure he'll be injured, but it'll probably be just a scare. Also, someone mentioned foreshadowing from Mer's dream back in...S4, I guess? Can anyone remind me does he die in it?

    There won't be any coming back from that then I guess. It doesn't show anyone being thrown by the explosion so if he is in that it's not good...is it true he is leaving? Somebody wrote that on here?

    Promos are misleading most of the time. What I mentioned is the timeline in the promo. It dosn't necessarily have to play out in the episode like that.
    As for Dempsey leaving, they won't confirm anything until we see his body I guess. My personal opinion is tha he is in fact leaving. Someone on imdb braught up an interview where he mentioned that he will only do his race car driving for the rest of the year. Normally if he was still part of the team he would be start shooting in July. Plus Shonda Rhimes is writing the season finale. And Shonda Rhimes writing a season finale is never good.

    No the finales have been pretty traumatic when Shonda writes them.....thanks for that info. I really enjoy the show but don't really read many spoilers, so I'm a bit clueless on that side of things. Will be sad if he does leave as he has been great in the show.

    To be honest, after they fake-killed Richard in the storm-finale, and all the repercussion it had... I think Shonda can get away with killing Derek, but will never get away with killing Richard. Just won't.

    I think it will be to police bringing him home, because his car exploded. He was too busy saving everybody's lives to call and let Mer know where he was. Shonda likes to make you think the worst and then make you feel ridiculous for thinking those bad things when you see the explanation.

    The "your husband was an extraordinary man..." kinda freaks me out. I mean...points to Derek dying, which I am fine with tbh. I mean - I don't hate Derek. I like MerDer...and since he got back and they all got happy and shiny again it breaks my heart a little...But yeah, it is way better of a storyline than to have them try to get pregnant again and other stuff blah blah blah...should give Ellen some awesome stuff to act on by the end of the season and coming into the (final?) next one! I am kinda excited. Whether he dies or not, the episode will be epic, for sure. Grey's just keeps getting better this year. I miss Dr Herman tho! XD

    Was the lights the show's way of showing that she indeed called the police and they were coming to the house? Or did the police already found Derek and are coming to the house with news before she could make the call?

    Richard is a fan-favourite, and people said Shonda will shock the whole fandom. He was reunited with Catherine and ofc his speech after the plane crash.... it looks like total closure for him as a character. I'm sorry to say it again, but I have a weird feeling we are let to believe that something happens to Derek, but it's going to be Richard.

    I can't seriously believe they will kill off Derek. It's not about the shipping of the two of them per se, it is about them being the root of the show. I don't really wish for it to go on that way. Have mercy, Shonda
