There are looking for a news showrunner. Nathan has already signed a new contract and Stana is negotiating, so safe to say that there will be another season
For the skeptical ones,ABC wouldn't have bothered to find a new showrunner if this was the last season. That being said, without Stana,i won't be watching!
She just got married and I imagine on her honeymoon. Give her a chance to sign on. More than likely she jetted off the set after the last day to start working on her wedding. I imagine the most important day of a woman's life. My contract negotiations would be the last thing on my mind if my wedding was right around the corner.
They are looking for a showrunner because the channel hopes that she may resign. They need someone to run the show, book new writers, etc. .
Stana can sign on the last day before the filming starts, but the showrunner needs to work at least 6-7 weeks ahead of this, mainly if they are a new one and needs to get acquainted with the existing elements. It is even more important if the show gets an unconditional "go" from the channel, that they want to make another season even if she doesn't resign.
As I said above: if the channel hopes she may resign they need someone to prepare the next season well in advance of her appearance in the set. If ABC thinks that they will make another season regardless of her decision (which is IMHO a foolish act, but it's in the cards) a showrunner is even more important.
As soon as the upfront pilot decisions will be announced, the good showrunners will be booked. That ABC is looking for one it only means that they hope the show returns - it says nothing about Stana's POV.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This looks very series finale-ish to me. I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteThis is the Series Finale. It has been a great run. If only this season could have been better. "IF ONLY"

ReplyDeleteI don't think this is series finale but pic are showing us that they made episode which can be series finale if in the end show doesn't get renewed.
ReplyDeleteAs long as Stana hasn't signed, I will be worried.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the sad looking ones with Kate

ReplyDeleteMe either
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for this, whether the series finale or season finale, I am okay with it.
ReplyDeleteI understand Stana not signing for season 8 right away, since she was prepping for her wedding/special day.

ReplyDeleteThis looks like it's going to be another great finale. I think we will have a season 8.

It's very telling that this will be the first time in five (six?) years when Richard Castle is going to be appreciated by anyone for what he is doing.
