Everyone looks happy and are smiling but I have this feeling that something awful is going to happen at that dinner table. And I don't necessarily mean physical violence but more of a verbal smack down where truths are told and secrets come out. One can always expect a Norma or Norman breakdown at such an occasion.
Watched the first two seasons and enjoyed them but tried to watch the first episode of S.3 the other day and made it about 15 minutes before turning it off and realizing will not be watching anymore. Not sure why.
I think more than a confrontation, what will happen is that they'll have an outwardly happy happy, joy joy family reunion, while everybody's struggling with their demons on the inside: Dylan and Emma worry about the disturbing news regarding her health, Romero's anguishing about Bob Paris and the fact that they're trying to kill him, Duncle struggles with whatever the fuck he struggles with, and Norman and Norma try to pretend that Hipster Teacher's dead body isn't in the basement ('cause Dr. Feelgood's most certainly dead at that point).
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Such nice pics for what I imagine is some horrific turning point...

ReplyDeleteAgree. Something is going to happen. Either at the dinner or soon afterwards.
