Update: 12th August New Promo
PROM, GRADUATION AND THEN WHAT? REALITY SETS IN WHEN MTV’S HIT COMEDY SERIES “Awkward” RETURNS ON MONDAY, AUGUST 31 AT 9:00 PM ET/PT ON MTV
The Supersized 24-Episode Two Part Fifth Season Will See High School End, Test Friendships and Force Jenna To Finally Make A Decision About A Future With Matty
April 29, 2015 (Santa Monica, CA) – Get ready for a little pomp and circumstance when MTV’s hit comedy series “Awkward” returns with the first half of the highly anticipated fifth season on Monday, August 31 at 9:00 PM ET/PT. For a sneak peek, click here.
There are only a few weeks left of high school, and Jenna (series star Ashley Rickards) and her friends must make the most of it. Everyone has already figured out what they are going to do next year, but there is a sense that “anything could happen” lingering in the air. The season is jam-packed with big senior year milestone moments - including senior pranks, prom and graduation, where Jenna will have to decide once and for all: are she and Matty (series star Beau Mirchoff) meant to be?
With high school ending and everyone heading going in different directions, the second half of the fifth season will jump forward to one year later, summertime back in Palos Hills.
“It's finally here! We have been through many of their high school ups and downs and at the end of the first half of season 5 we finally see Jenna and her friends graduate. But the story doesn't end there,” said Mina Lefevre, MTV’s Senior Vice President, Head of Scripted. “In the second half of season five we pick up with the cast a year later...where they quickly realize those Awkward moments don't stop once you leave high school. This opens up endless opportunities to continue telling their story.”
Season four of “Awkward” averaged 1.9 million total viewers each week and a 2.0 in L+7D ratings for the P12-34 audience.

Thank U very much! Looks quite good.
ReplyDeleteI dropped the show halfway through S2 because life happened. Is it worth catching up with? The promo didn't convince me it is so I'd like some other input...
ReplyDeleteLoved the first three seasons of the show, but I dropped it second half of season 4.
ReplyDeleteI watched the show for a while at least the first two seasons but I found the main character, Jenna, gets seriously annoying after awhile. I don't know if it's the actress or the way the character is written but I'd almost prefer if someone else was the main character. That and those annoying love triangles were starting to become a bit much. But I might check out the last few episodes to see how the show ends at least.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback!
ReplyDeleteHhhmm... I guess I'll wait to hear how S5 pans out before I decide.
I was getting that vibe that she was becoming more annoying than endearing when I fell behind on the show too. Partly why I didn't really bother catching up.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll wait to hear how S5 turns out before I decide to come back to the show.
I am excited for it to come back. It certainly is not what it used to be but I still find this show really enjoyable :) but why August? like wtf MTV. It looks like all their shows are finished filming but oh hey let's add a few months more, just for fun :D
ReplyDeleteThe Supersized 24-Episode
ReplyDelete^ woohoo.
I don't know how I feel about that fifth season time jump, second part.
ReplyDeleteI think it should end with graduation.
Also, i still don't get MTV's schedule with 12 episode and super-sized 20 episode seasons. There's no pattern! XD
