I don't know who half of those people are since I haven't watched a single episode yet but I gotta ask who's the one in the end with the epic entrance.
I just experienced a nerdgasm after watching this promo. So freaking cool! Can we just have superhero fight club in the summer when The Flash and Arrow are on hiatus, CW? That would be awesome please and thank you.
Wooowww!!! AWESOME!!! Padrisimo promo, para nada lo esperaba y creo eso es lo mejor, cuando recibes estos regalos sin esperarlos, Gracias CW!! (Retiro lo dicho en la mañana jajajaja)
I just had enough of the photoshoots of the suits on Arrow/Flash. Other deserve some photoshoot also. I mean what about Thea isnt she getting a costume? Just lame.
It looks fun until you realise that none of the team members that actually help make these heroes effective like Cisco, Caitlin, Joe, Felicity and Diggle are present. Guess only masks matter.
They could've put in the non-mask wearing heroes on the sidelines, since they were going for a Fight Club theme. Have some of them keeping score, generally cheering on the masked people they work with, giving them water, something.
C'mon, there is no winning with you guys. The CW went through the trouble of making a freaking 3 minute special like this and people are still complaining! Had they done what you are suggesting, someone would be here saying that it downgraded Felicity and the others to be on the sidelines and that made them look inferior to the other heroes. I can guarantee it would happen...
"And I thought you had anger management issues" lol FIRESTORM!!!! "Just remember without ys you guys would be out of business" I'm gonna miss you CC. I'm glad Oliver defeated Ra's eventually lol also nice moves, Oliver.
That promo was EPIC!! Can we get a web series of them just having fun and training and fighting together?
Did they really have to start with PT logo. Ugh Laurel defeated Malcolm? Really? Sure why not!
If no one is going to say it then I'm going to: the promo was Amellzing hahaha
Beautiful week you guys. My exams for uni are done. The weather's nice, Daredevil was fucking awesome. Arrow and the Flash are back, Game of Thrones premiered (and I got to see the first four episodes- sorry HBO for whatever douche that did that) and this beautiful promo was released.
People have been dissatisfied with the focus on the masks all season, and they're just perpetuating it now with a promo like this. I didn't say the promo wasn't cool (I did, in fact, say that it was in my first comment), it would just be nice to see the people who don't wear masks and yet do some pretty fucking heroic shit be at least included in the promos for their own shows.
I mean I get Ur point but they are working on introducing more female heroines to the show and try to change it. At this moment that panel and this promo "had" to look like this.
I'm not saying change the premise of the ad. I'm just saying it would've been better if there were bits and pieces of Diggle/Felicity/Cisco in it making awesome funny comments on the side. There's nothing wrong with promoting fan favorites as well.
Ok, that was great! And the ending was the best:) Now let's have one with all the supporting characters like Felicity, Digg, Cisco, and Caitlin...the non-mask wearing heroes we love.
exactly, Cisco isn't Vibe yet and Caitlin still needs to turn into Killer Frost. Meanwhile Felicity and Diggle need to find their comic personas (Dig=Rick Flagg; Felicity=Oracle)
This only makes me realize more and more that I need to catch up on The Flash ASAP. The crossover is happening this week right? I won't get caught up until next week I'm afraid.
Felicity, Diggle, Caitlin and Cisco have been portrayed as heroes on the show VERY often this year. Thea, Quentin and Iris not so much but I think that's just because their characters aren't there; it's been organic enough IMO.
As for the promo, the point of it is not to appeal to the fans of the show (although I think that gets done in the process) who know how much all those other guys matter, but rather to capture and entice new people into the show. New people are much more willing to watch with a promo like this with super heroes and masks than a promo filled with "regular looking" people; it's just how it is - this is good marketing!
Am I the only one who just loved that elevator scene??? LOL I just love when my heroes are in public places spouting about and some fool is drooling. Especially in elevators, like idk whyyy but I love it!!
Felicity, Dig, Cisco, Joe, Caitlin and the others are sitting in a small club, while they're talking we hear fighting sounds from above. At the end of the conversation we see Ray falling from the top floor, he gets up slowly. "What happened?" "Not allowed to talk about it" *runs to the elevator
I'm just saying marketing and cool wise Flash vs. Reverse Flash is a lot more fun than Fan favourites. Maybe if they were the audience but could be a distraction and I don't care how much I love Dig, Joe or Felicity nothing gets in the way of hero/villain fight club promos.
If there is a single "core viewer" of the shows that will stop watching because of this, I can guarantee that person would stop watching sooner rather than later for some other reason, when the storylines weren't to his satisfaction in one of the shows. The upside here is simply much more compelling than any potential downside!
Sure it's okay. But I'm just wondering, would it have been harmful to add in some fun moments with Diggle/Felicity/Cisco? Not only does it make the promo diverse (come on, this promo was full of testosterone and white people), but it could've made it better while still retaining the flashiness of the masks
Hahahaha, Nahhh, this is specific! This is like a thing!! LOL Like I can't explain it, you would just know what I mean. Like Mac down there. We seem to be one today. LOL Let's see how long that last. I'm thinking another 3 Hrs. Lol
I doubt Diggle will ever lead the Squad Mac. It's be cool be given his family, the whole morality thing he's got and the fact that after 3x17 he's done with the Squad. It ain't gonna happen.
right, but how can Felicity turn into Oracle when they are two different people in the comics? I understand they can combine but Felicity is her own character with back story etc... in comics.
I guess we'll agree to disagree :) That promo needed more diversity, imo. Plus if we did add the aforementioned characters, the promo probably would've been longer ;) How cool would that have been?
I'm seven episodes behind, which is really a lot actually. I think I'll manage to get all caught up in one or two weeks. And I've heard nothing but good thing about the recent Flash episodes so I'm eager to see them. It's just a lack of time you know.
well i measure the act of a hero on their actions not because they were a hero/heroine in the comics. And half the "heroes" in that promo havent done anything to deserve that title.
I know yeah, I have several shows on the line as well. The Flash and Arrow are two I don't accept being behind though so I will always manage to squeeze them in somehow, even if it is at the expense of my hours of sleep ahah. But I am not a good example. Anyway, let me know how it goes with The Flash!
Jesus. Just let it go. Roy has, Oliver has, Barry has, hell even Laurel had (the Uprising shit). Firestorm they're all superheroes. Diggle and Felicity are heroes, but they don't wear a mask or have the marketability they do.
Sure, to each his own, you have the right to feel however you do. I was just saying that, regardless of whether we like it or not (I love it and you feel disappointed with it), from a marketing POV I think this makes sense.
In what AU does Oliver come close to beating Ra's? Or Merlyn joins in the fun sparring match? This is a ridiculous promo not meant to be taken seriously.
Meh. Cheesy and Childish. Look at the suits.... We suit people are so awesome. Others are just there to be killed off. Joking not really. Not my cup of tea. The premise was funny. But the exclusive suit club will never sit well with me. Why not give other characters at least gallery seats. I am glad people here are happy with it.
Oh, I'm not disappointed with the promo, I think it's cool. I'm just disappointed about the focus on the masks this year, and this promo leaving the BTS players out compounds that. I enjoy the super heroism, no doubt about it, but I also enjoy the every day heroism we see on the show, and the more promos focus on just the masks, the more I'm afraid that the show is going to go further in that direction. Makes me nervous, is all.
After the first 20 seconds when I realized we weren't really going to get anything I was desapointed, but about 20 seconds later when I got over it, I started enjoyng it. That was funny!
I wish I could upvote this more than once. This isn't a promo ABOUT the non-powered people.
Hell, from a 'let's get people excited about the show who DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT, why would they put in the uncostumed people when these potential new viewers would have absolutely no idea who they were or why they should care? It's a promo to excite people into seeing these costumed fighters.
And from another point of view, consider what kind of budget such a promo like this might have had. It's plausible that after everything ELSE they put into it, there wasn't enough in the budget to pay for the other actors times.
Why wouldn't there be a focus on masks and costumes? That is what the shows are about. That's like being surprised that a show called COPS doesn't tend to focus on firefighters.
Yes, but potential viewers are not fans. Fans actually invest time in checking the show each week, potential/casual viewers don't, so most likely they haven't connected with the characters yet, otherwise they would watch the show mor often. Don't read too much into it, it's a generical supehero show, so they showed the known heroes and the villans kicking each others asses. Showing a bunch of people you don't really know, it's not publicity, and that's al this is.
Did I write that I was surprised that the show and it's marketing was focused on mask-wearing heroes?
I wrote that I was disappointed that there was nary a sign of anyone who doesn't wear a mask (all of whom are heroes and have done heroic things on these shows), and that's one of the major reasons I watch. This season, in particularly on Arrow, the focus has been on the masks, less so on the people who support them. I'm just worried that promos like this are indicative of more of that to come, when I find the everyday heroism of Diggle and Felicity to be just as interesting ( if not moreso on occasion) than that of Oliver, Roy, Laurel and Ray.
That was fun. Even if it isn't really canon, it was nice to see that fun Barry/Ollie banter again after watching Daredevil which, while amazing, has become the broody chapter of the MCU.
Honestly, I'm looking forward to Luke Cage and Iron Fist being some light. Don't know what to expect with Jessica Jones.
i am for equal opportunity promo. The suits all had photoshoots on their own already this season. Why not make a promo for the non-masked heroes who make sure the heroes dont fall flat on their face.
As was stated before its just AU.Promoting fan favorites from the show would not appeal to those who do not currently watch the show.It has to be fair.Felicity and Digg are heroes in their own right but what is their current super hero name on the show? This was abt the super heroes and their opposing villains. This was for the old comic book geeks ...sorry if you dont agree .
Befor King Tuft's "Madness" appears in the fight club scene, what's the name of the song that plays when Ollie and Barry enter an elevator. It goes by 86,400 seconds.
Y'all go ahead and get your pitchforks because that was absolutely horrible. I cringed all the way through that silly, teen bop sounding song. I get the idea behind it and it would be cool if it wasn't so very childish. I want a cross promotion that gives me chills. That makes me excited to watch. One that makes me anxious for the next episode or the new show. I did love seeing Ra's, Victor Garber and Captain Cold.
What a shocker, a 3 minute long promo and you are criticizing everything that is Laurel related and that doesn't involve Felicity. This is not even from the show, is just a fun commercial and Roy ALSO beat Malcolm.
What else is next, you miss the Ray hate at the end, you should make a new post about that, what a lame line right? How lame is Ray, stalker, boring, gosh.
You don't even know that, this may have been filmed last week or last month, all the actors are in Vancouver right now, even Colton Haynes. And like 238328728327323283283288327832 users said, this was a promo with all the "in custome" heroes, does not mean that Felicity, Diggle, Caitlin, Cisco are not heroes.
And I'm pretty sure Thea was not there because they haven't show us her costume yet.
Equal opportunity promo? It's about a fun way to blow off steam between costumed and powered heroes and villains. This isn't feminism or an actual social issue.
That's great for those who do. I didn't say no one should like it. I don't like it and don't particularly care who does and why. Just as they shouldn't care that I don't like it.
It's a personal thing I guess. I am a tv and movie fan who likes comic book adaptations but not much into comics as it is. So when a major portion of characters I enjoy in these shows are sidelined in a promo like this I get crabby. Don't mind me at all. Enjoy.
I want a different promo with just Cisco/Caitlin/Felicity/Diggle in the background always trying to save the masked heroes butts (but in a funny way) -- Like sort of a behind the scenes thing. And when Oliver/Barry does something stupid they could just roll their eyes like it's a common occurrence :p
Seems like people have a stick up their butt over this promo... I think its AWESOME ! For some reason people can't take it for what it is, a fun promo. Instead of enjoying it they're nitpicking every little thing they didn't like about it and having a cry. God forbid the creators of the shows do something fun for the fans/potential fans to enjoy.
Yeah. But I'm so desillusioned about the mess Arrow has become. Especially after now seeing Daredevil do a dark, well written vigilante action flawlessly.
Ridiculously awesome promo. I'm kind of hoping that this is part of the episodes even though I'm pretty sure it's not. I have a dilemma coming up and I need some advice. Does anyone know if the all star episode of the Flash can be watched as a stand-alone, without having seen the season? I'm all caught up with Arrow, but I haven't started watching Flash yet (it's very high on my list of shows to watch this summer). I really want to watch the all star episode but I'm afraid that I won't know what's going on.
Oh its not about feminism at all. But it would have been very easy to please all the fans. Not just say hey look at the heroes & vigilantes in costumes.
It's just not a very good promo. I like it as a comic fan but it is really misleading. If anyone watches this and tunes into the show I think they'd be disappointed.
I wish Arrow was more like that but it isn't. At all.
(sigh) It's a non-canon hero fight club promo. Anyone expecting this, apparently can't do basic research. The point is to get fans excited and hey maybe I should check that out. Not hey it's a superhero fight club, this is totally indicative of the show's premise. It's an excellent promo, and no one's that stupid to expect this verbatim. I don't. It would be like eating a carton of ice cream every day. Extremely unhealthily and really disgusting after a while.
You don't expect it because you already watch the shows.
Nothing in this tells me I should expect something completely different from what is being advertised. It's fun, I'm not disputing that. What I am disputing is that it is an effective advertisement.
I would say skip the episode if you have plans to watch Flash later on. Because in this episode Barry is going through a dilemma which will spoil the season's biggest secret for you. This episode only has Ray Palmer and Felicity Smoak guest starring on The Flash. You won't miss anything important about Arrow if you miss it where as you will be spoiled on a season long Flash arc by watching this.
That said. let me throw some cold water on people AGAIN based on the comments that have gone on back and forth:
This is a marketing promo. It is designed to grab the attention and hold it for a few moments and pique interest. THAT'S IT. Nothing more, nothing less.
It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with what defines a hero, or giving credit to the non masked characters, or satisfying what the fans want. In fact the fans don't need a promo. THEY'RE ALREADY FANS! This isn't for them.
This is for advertisers and marketing reps. To show them the cool stuff CW is doing. This is for people who don't watch the show to watch the show. That's it.
So what would it hurt to put Felicity and Diggle in there too? Really? People are asking that? MONEY!!!! GET IT? That's what would hurt! Why would CW pay to have Emily Bett Rickards or David Ramsey or anyone else if they don't have to?
Got it? No? Maybe? I'm looking around the classroom and there are still some blank stares.
I dispute that. It displays the heroes and villains, their relationships with each other. And is a fun promo. No better way to get people to want to watch.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Pretty awesome promo.
ReplyDeleteThis promo is SO AWESOME ! Barry and Oliver's discussions cracked me up ! :D I can't wait anymore after watching this video !
ReplyDeleteThis is the coolest promo ever made!!!!
ReplyDeleteI could watch for 5 hours!
that was awesome... best promo so far
ReplyDeleteCool promo. I wish we'd get some promos like this that included the non-mask wearing heroes as well, but I know that's probably never going to happen.
ReplyDeleteI agree this was pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteThat was the best thing ever, made the end of my work day even better.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who half of those people are since I haven't watched a single episode yet but I gotta ask who's the one in the end with the epic entrance.
ReplyDeleteIn what AU does LL beat Malcom?
ReplyDeleteI just experienced a nerdgasm after watching this promo. So freaking cool! Can we just have superhero fight club in the summer when The Flash and Arrow are on hiatus, CW? That would be awesome please and thank you.
ReplyDeleteWooowww!!! AWESOME!!! Padrisimo promo, para nada lo esperaba y creo eso es lo mejor, cuando recibes estos regalos sin esperarlos, Gracias CW!! (Retiro lo dicho en la mañana jajajaja)
ReplyDeleteHolly molly ! Flipping out right here right now!
ReplyDeleteAmazibg interesting idea and neat execution. Shame the verses didn't crossover a bit.
AHHHHH AHHHHHHH AHHHHHHH. Could I be any more of a fanboy right now? I LOVE this! Thank you CW! I love these shows, jeez!!
ReplyDeleteAhah I had that nerdgasm right with you! My god, I love this so much!
ReplyDeleteI don't think this is supposed to have any meaning like that.
ReplyDeleteThe Atom!
ReplyDeleteSooooo awesome!
ReplyDeleteActually it does since this is form the TCA mess.
ReplyDeleteIt's just a funny thing... Only Oliver can beat Malcolm xD
ReplyDeleteIt's just a promo...
Okay, Ray at the end JAJAJAJAJAJA What an awesome promo!!!
ReplyDeleteThis goes to show what an aweosme roster this universe has! :D
I am sure it is just a promotional fun video without any bearing content wise.
ReplyDeleteJhfswuknczjhdjgsjjvsgjnzfjbv
ReplyDeletebetter question is why is Malcolm there to begin with? he said "the team" are they really going to redeem Malcolm?
ReplyDeleteI just had enough of the photoshoots of the suits on Arrow/Flash. Other deserve some photoshoot also. I mean what about Thea isnt she getting a costume? Just lame.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't care less right now, I am too excited still fanboying over this. I am very thankful the CW took the time to put this up.
ReplyDeleteI am not. This is just another not well thought off crap for me.
ReplyDeleteI love it. It's a fun promo!
ReplyDeleteThat awkward moment when we can't even contain our excitement ahah
ReplyDeleteThe shows are based on comics, so I don't think it's a bad thing that they went for the playful side and blow it a bit out of proportion.
ReplyDeleteIt looks fun until you realise that none of the team members that actually help make these heroes effective like Cisco, Caitlin, Joe, Felicity and Diggle are present. Guess only masks matter.
ReplyDeleteThey could've put in the non-mask wearing heroes on the sidelines, since they were going for a Fight Club theme. Have some of them keeping score, generally cheering on the masked people they work with, giving them water, something.
ReplyDeleteRight? That awkward moment when you can't form words because your brain is screaming lol
ReplyDeleteLike it or not Laurel embrassed her comic alter ego and is on the streets fight for her cause.
ReplyDeleteWhat TCA press thing? Mean the special panel?
Exactly, Diggle and Felicity deserve the hero title more than Ray and Laurel but it doesn't seem to matter to tptb because no masks/costumes.
ReplyDeleteC'mon, there is no winning with you guys. The CW went through the trouble of making a freaking 3 minute special like this and people are still complaining! Had they done what you are suggesting, someone would be here saying that it downgraded Felicity and the others to be on the sidelines and that made them look inferior to the other heroes. I can guarantee it would happen...
ReplyDeleteI am not questioning why LL is there i am questioning why Diggle isnt?
ReplyDeleteOk after calming down, few comments.
ReplyDelete"And I thought you had anger management issues" lol FIRESTORM!!!!
Ugh
Laurel defeated Malcolm? Really? Sure why not!
If no one is going to say it then I'm going to: the promo was Amellzing hahaha
Cause of marketing. The Black Canary is a big comic book name John Diggle sadly isn't. Even though his character contributed more to the show.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful week you guys. My exams for uni are done. The weather's nice, Daredevil was fucking awesome. Arrow and the Flash are back, Game of Thrones premiered (and I got to see the first four episodes- sorry HBO for whatever douche that did that) and this beautiful promo was released.

ReplyDeleteExactly!
ReplyDeleteI mean I get Ur point but they are working on introducing more female heroines to the show and try to change it. At this moment that panel and this promo "had" to look like this.
ReplyDeleteThe purpose of promos is to attract people...
ReplyDeleteI'm so juiced! It's awesome. Such a nerd. Aww man. That totally made my day!! I can't wait for the rest of the season for both.
ReplyDeleteOuch! Wow! Hahahaha. = p
ReplyDeleteYep! This is just marketing nothing storywise connected.
ReplyDeleteIt can back fire also.
ReplyDeleteThought you meant it deragtorily. Agreed though this is the stuff of nerdcomas. Dig doesn't have a costume though.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying change the premise of the ad. I'm just saying it would've been better if there were bits and pieces of Diggle/Felicity/Cisco in it making awesome funny comments on the side. There's nothing wrong with promoting fan favorites as well.
ReplyDeleteLmaoooo I only do that when I speak kligon. ; )
ReplyDeleteOk, that was great! And the ending was the best:) Now let's have one with all the supporting characters like Felicity, Digg, Cisco, and Caitlin...the non-mask wearing heroes we love.

ReplyDeleteTrue. But fan favourites don't dazzle potential viewers.

and sadly I know some, though I would have to check the spelling.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who just loved that elevator scene??? LOL I just love when my heroes are in public places spouting about and some fool is drooling. Especially in elevators, like idk whyyy but I love it!!
ReplyDeletelol I would love to see that
ReplyDeleteFelicity, Dig, Cisco, Joe, Caitlin and the others are sitting in a small club, while they're talking we hear fighting sounds from above. At the end of the conversation we see Ray falling from the top floor, he gets up slowly. "What happened?" "Not allowed to talk about it" *runs to the elevator
I know what the point of the promo is, am I not allowed to be disappointed because a lot of the people I watch the show for weren't included?
ReplyDeleteI don't think it has nothing to do with that. People are giving this context when it has none.
ReplyDeleteIt's just a promo to show off the costume department and some cool stunts... That's it!
Same here. I am so pumped! I am rewatching scenes from the crossover episodes as we speak! NERD ALERT!
ReplyDeleteLmfaoooo. Geeks FTW dude.
ReplyDeleteI'm just saying marketing and cool wise Flash vs. Reverse Flash is a lot more fun than Fan favourites. Maybe if they were the audience but could be a distraction and I don't care how much I love Dig, Joe or Felicity nothing gets in the way of hero/villain fight club promos.
ReplyDeleteYou're not, I still love that scene in Spiderman 2 after he lost his powers. "Nice Spidey costume". Gah, I need to rewatch that one ASAP.
ReplyDeleteI just love how elevators bring such normality to our heroes, in a hilarious way :D
Why is Stein there though?
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more !!!
ReplyDeleteYES!!!!! A thousand times yes!!
ReplyDeleteTo form Firestorm.
ReplyDeleteIf there is a single "core viewer" of the shows that will stop watching because of this, I can guarantee that person would stop watching sooner rather than later for some other reason, when the storylines weren't to his satisfaction in one of the shows. The upside here is simply much more compelling than any potential downside!
ReplyDeleteYES! Where are you on The Flash? These recent episodes have been amazing! Have you watched Out of Time yet?
ReplyDeleteSure it's okay. But I'm just wondering, would it have been harmful to add in some fun moments with Diggle/Felicity/Cisco? Not only does it make the promo diverse (come on, this promo was full of testosterone and white people), but it could've made it better while still retaining the flashiness of the masks
ReplyDeletewill see.
ReplyDeleteThe Palmer bit at the end was great.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, Nahhh, this is specific! This is like a thing!! LOL Like I can't explain it, you would just know what I mean. Like Mac down there. We seem to be one today. LOL Let's see how long that last. I'm thinking another 3 Hrs. Lol
ReplyDeleteWe won't see actually. None of us will ever have access to figures that allow us to conclude what the impact of the promo was.
ReplyDeleteI think it was my favorite Palmer moment yet
ReplyDeleteAnd Here We Go !!!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TT4dnoJ1uUM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSxFSbEvWpI
But we will see how WB will be marketing this season.
ReplyDeleteI doubt Diggle will ever lead the Squad Mac. It's be cool be given his family, the whole morality thing he's got and the fact that after 3x17 he's done with the Squad. It ain't gonna happen.
ReplyDeleteBarry: And I thought you had anger management issues. LOL!
ReplyDeletethat is what my back tattoo says.
ReplyDeleteEh actually yeah I feel it would've ripped the momentum out.
ReplyDelete; )
ReplyDeleteright, but how can Felicity turn into Oracle when they are two different people in the comics? I understand they can combine but Felicity is her own character with back story etc... in comics.
ReplyDeleteI guess we'll agree to disagree :) That promo needed more diversity, imo. Plus if we did add the aforementioned characters, the promo probably would've been longer ;) How cool would that have been?
ReplyDeletethe vfx in that episode were out of this world good :D
ReplyDeleteExcept he's not a superhero.
ReplyDeletevfx? :P
ReplyDeleteI'm seven episodes behind, which is really a lot actually. I think I'll manage to get all caught up in one or two weeks. And I've heard nothing but good thing about the recent Flash episodes so I'm eager to see them. It's just a lack of time you know.
ReplyDeleteOfficially show universe wise no.

ReplyDeletevisual effects.
ReplyDeleteThat was beyond cool! I can't stop watching!
ReplyDeleteAh, thanks!
ReplyDeleteJesus. Just let it go. Roy has, Oliver has, Barry has, hell even Laurel had (the Uprising shit). Firestorm they're all superheroes. Diggle and Felicity are heroes, but they don't wear a mask or have the marketability they do.
ReplyDeletemost welcome
ReplyDeleteActually right length to me.
ReplyDeleteThat was weird as hell, but also crazy fun in an AU sort of way. LOL at Heatwave's reaction to Firestrom, I think he's got a fan.
ReplyDeleteSure, to each his own, you have the right to feel however you do. I was just saying that, regardless of whether we like it or not (I love it and you feel disappointed with it), from a marketing POV I think this makes sense.
ReplyDeleteBut of course we both can have different views ;)
In what AU does Oliver come close to beating Ra's? Or Merlyn joins in the fun sparring match? This is a ridiculous promo not meant to be taken seriously.
ReplyDeleteYou meant embraced, right?
ReplyDeleteGood then i am gonna start calling everything the comic fanboys demand and is shown on the show fan-pandering.
ReplyDeleteAre these new?
ReplyDeleteMeh.
ReplyDeletewho's the guy in the black outfit?
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm not disappointed with the promo, I think it's cool.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, cool, funny
ReplyDeleteNo.
ReplyDeleteThe two preview clips came out a few weeks ago as did the other fan made one.
That is fair!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant promo!
ReplyDeleteIt's a 3 minutes promo, jfc! Let us have a 3 minutes promo!
ReplyDeleteReally Felicity lovers you are talking about fan-pandering Give me a Break
ReplyDeletehey it goes both ways.
ReplyDeleteLaurel is here to Stay
ReplyDeleteGet over it
And maybe in the future she could beat Malcolm Merlyn
Come on now I am so sick of some of the people of the fandom
No it does not you have more fans than us
ReplyDeleteYou're reading way too much into what is obviously just an out-of-character/noncanon fun video.
ReplyDeleteAnyway it was an awesome promo
ReplyDeleteLove Barry so much
After the first 20 seconds when I realized we weren't really going to get anything I was desapointed, but about 20 seconds later when I got over it, I started enjoyng it. That was funny!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could upvote this more than once. This isn't a promo ABOUT the non-powered people.
ReplyDeleteHell, from a 'let's get people excited about the show who DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT, why would they put in the uncostumed people when these potential new viewers would have absolutely no idea who they were or why they should care? It's a promo to excite people into seeing these costumed fighters.
And from another point of view, consider what kind of budget such a promo like this might have had. It's plausible that after everything ELSE they put into it, there wasn't enough in the budget to pay for the other actors times.
Why wouldn't there be a focus on masks and costumes? That is what the shows are about. That's like being surprised that a show called COPS doesn't tend to focus on firefighters.
ReplyDeleteYes, LL is a hero. Not a particularly well skilled one yet, but she is trying and she has had development. However much that may upset some people.
ReplyDeleteWithout commercials that is just a little over 4 hours and 30 minutes so it's totally doable.
ReplyDeleteHow can a promo be that cheesy, yet totally awesome at the same time?
ReplyDeleteDid you miss Firestorm?
ReplyDeleteYes, but potential viewers are not fans.
ReplyDeleteThis club only has one rule...there are no rules...BOOM!!!...i LOVE THIS !!!
ReplyDeleteDid I write that I was surprised that the show and it's marketing was focused on mask-wearing heroes?
ReplyDeleteI wrote that I was disappointed that there was nary a sign of anyone who doesn't wear a mask (all of whom are heroes and have done heroic things on these shows), and that's one of the major reasons I watch.
I wanta promo ike thsi for the new show.
ReplyDeleteThat was fun. Even if it isn't really canon, it was nice to see that fun Barry/Ollie banter again after watching Daredevil which, while amazing, has become the broody chapter of the MCU.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I'm looking forward to Luke Cage and Iron Fist being some light. Don't know what to expect with Jessica Jones.
This isn't even an AU. This is just a fun little promo. We already saw what happens actually in canon when Laurel picks a fight with Merlyn.
ReplyDeleteCorrection, it's fun. Not 'childlike'.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm sure people will be happy knowing that no one invited Atom.
ReplyDeletei am for equal opportunity promo. The suits all had photoshoots on their own already this season. Why not make a promo for the non-masked heroes who make sure the heroes dont fall flat on their face.
ReplyDeleteThis is the only time i'll admit i liked Atom/Ray for 10 secs there.Cool promo!
ReplyDeleteAs was stated before its just AU.Promoting fan favorites from the show would not appeal to those who do not currently watch the show.It has to be fair.Felicity and Digg are heroes in their own right but what is their current super hero name on the show? This was abt the super heroes and their opposing villains. This was for the old comic book geeks ...sorry if you dont agree .
ReplyDeleteThe CW is learning to do mind bending promos.
ReplyDeleteThis one was incredible!
They set the bar so high that it is a must!
ReplyDeleteI didn't, and you know what I meant.
ReplyDelete????? What did I just watch?
ReplyDeleteI'm so confused right now...
Befor King Tuft's "Madness" appears in the fight club scene, what's the name of the song that plays when Ollie and Barry enter an elevator. It goes by 86,400 seconds.
ReplyDeleteY'all go ahead and get your pitchforks because that was absolutely horrible. I cringed all the way through that silly, teen bop sounding song.
ReplyDeleteI get the idea behind it and it would be cool if it wasn't so very childish.
ReplyDeleteWhat else is next, you miss the Ray hate at the end, you should make a new post about that, what a lame line right? How lame is Ray, stalker, boring, gosh.
Don't mind, she always do that when promotional stuff doesn't involves Felicity.
ReplyDeleteLike you said it, it was made for fun but there's always that person who tries to break up the party.
Thank you Jesus.
ReplyDeleteyeah, just like Olicity
ReplyDeleteYou don't even know that, this may have been filmed last week or last month, all the actors are in Vancouver right now, even Colton Haynes. And like 238328728327323283283288327832 users said, this was a promo with all the "in custome" heroes, does not mean that Felicity, Diggle, Caitlin, Cisco are not heroes.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm pretty sure Thea was not there because they haven't show us her costume yet.
I love this promo so much, epic.
ReplyDeleteWhat was this promoting exactly?
ReplyDeleteEqual opportunity promo? It's about a fun way to blow off steam between costumed and powered heroes and villains. This isn't feminism or an actual social issue.
ReplyDeleteThe return of Flash and Arrow.
ReplyDeleteYou watched awesomeness.
ReplyDeleteYes so childish. You don't like it okay fair enough but that's absurd. And most people like it.
ReplyDeleteI love Felicity but yeah people really need to lay off this promo.
ReplyDeleteWell it's a superhero fight club. Suits only. Plus I doubt they could afford if budget wise.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
ReplyDeleteShannon you so get me on stuff like this.
ReplyDeleteThat's great for those who do. I didn't say no one should like it. I don't like it and don't particularly care who does and why. Just as they shouldn't care that I don't like it.
ReplyDeleteIt's a personal thing I guess. I am a tv and movie fan who likes comic book adaptations but not much into comics as it is. So when a major portion of characters I enjoy in these shows are sidelined in a promo like this I get crabby. Don't mind me at all. Enjoy.
ReplyDelete= D
ReplyDeleteI want a different promo with just Cisco/Caitlin/Felicity/Diggle in the background always trying to save the masked heroes butts (but in a funny way) -- Like sort of a behind the scenes thing. And when Oliver/Barry does something stupid they could just roll their eyes like it's a common occurrence :p
ReplyDeleteYes that.^_^
ReplyDeleteSeems like people have a stick up their butt over this promo... I think its AWESOME ! For some reason people can't take it for what it is, a fun promo. Instead of enjoying it they're nitpicking every little thing they didn't like about it and having a cry. God forbid the creators of the shows do something fun for the fans/potential fans to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAWESOMELY HILARIOUS PROMO!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo. I think I wasn't swayed either side. Didn't love it, didn't hate it it Mostly just a "huh?" feeling.
ReplyDeleteThat was fun! And I hardly watch either show...
ReplyDeleteUgh. That saddens me.
ReplyDeleteYeah. But I'm so desillusioned about the mess Arrow has become. Especially after now seeing Daredevil do a dark, well written vigilante action flawlessly.
ReplyDeleteRidiculously awesome promo.
ReplyDeleteActually i do now that it was filmed at the TCAs since James Bamford the stunt coordinator posted pics from the shoot.
ReplyDeleteOh its not about feminism at all. But it would have been very easy to please all the fans. Not just say hey look at the heroes & vigilantes in costumes.
ReplyDeleteIt's just not a very good promo. I like it as a comic fan but it is really misleading. If anyone watches this and tunes into the show I think they'd be disappointed.
ReplyDeleteI wish Arrow was more like that but it isn't. At all.
I disagree immensely. Daredevil's fantastic, but Arrow is still great.
ReplyDeleteI know it's not. My point was saying equal opportunity was a tad much.
ReplyDelete(sigh) It's a non-canon hero fight club promo.
ReplyDeleteYeah. I wasn't trying to argue or convince anyone. It's just my personal feelingsm
ReplyDeleteYou don't expect it because you already watch the shows.
ReplyDeleteNothing in this tells me I should expect something completely different from what is being advertised. It's fun, I'm not disputing that. What I am disputing is that it is an effective advertisement.
NIIIIIIIICE
ReplyDeleteI would say skip the episode if you have plans to watch Flash later on.
ReplyDeletelol, i love that pic :D
ReplyDeletethat promo is the best thing ever
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know the name of the song playing during the fight scene?
ReplyDeleteIs that Felicity's mom in the elevator? LOL Look at her face..... I am cracking up.
ReplyDeleteI'm aware.
ReplyDeleteCool promo. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThat said. let me throw some cold water on people AGAIN based on the comments that have gone on back and forth:
ReplyDeleteYes, and I think I see Mama Felicity in the elevator. LOOK at her face, goggling over those gents! :)
ReplyDeleteCool promo
