well it's a mask-club meetup. Sara's dead and Felicity isn't a mask-wearer. Laurel is. That's the reason she's there I guess.
ReplyDeleteWhat actually confuses me is how we didn't get posters featuring the others. Now we finally have Barrowman at a photoshoot and still don't get a poster featuring him. Same goes for Ra's, Captain Cold, Heatwave and all the villains....or the ATOM for that matter....or Firestorm...or everyone but Barry/Oliver/Roy

ReplyDeleteAlso it seemed as if Robbie Amell wasn't even on set for the video, it was just a rotoscoped shot of him turning around, same for Tom Cavanagh (the Reverse Flash was blurred)

ReplyDeleteWhy is there no Laurel poster? They went this far to make a costume only promo and costume only posters then why is Laurel avoided? The only female hero in the show right now. I really dislike the way CW promotes Arrow.
ReplyDeletenot really, they had quite a lot of original actors for the size of the promo. Imagine how hard it has to be to get actors that are already shooting a show 24/7 on set for a promo video featuring all them fighting. Who cares if Cavanagh and Amell weren't actually there, their characters were.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that this does suggest is that a.) either they weren't available or b.) Eobard will go back to his old body and they don't want to spoil this c.) Robbie Amell not being signed on for the spin-off makes a bit more sense now

I'd die if they released on huge cast portrait with all of them in the ring...god...how amazing would that be? But for now we'll have to be content with...the overexposed ones.
The thing about Laurel is probably that they don't want to rehash the poster fiasco from earlier this season
Wasn't that shot after the Heroes and Villains panel? They were all there so it wasn't that hard to shoot the promo. The fact that Diggle wasn't included is also insulting since he was in the panel. I think Robbie was promoting The Duff at the time so he wasn't free to shoot it.
ReplyDeleteThat wasn't shot there, you can't just shoot such a promo on the go without massive work before that. The entire sequence seems to have been shot at one well lit sound stage.

I love this video. It was her first one too! How crazy is that. I hope TPTB has seen this. If not, THEY MUST! I swear I could watch it til Flash comes on tonight.
ReplyDeleteOk anyway my theory...since F18 takes place before Arrow18. I'm thinking this is how it went down. They went to CC to help with the suit. (Suit gets fixed. Or so we thought until Oliver shut that stupid suit down) The dinner didn't go as planned. (It was basically the dinner date from hell for w/e reason.) And Felicity started second guessing her relationship with Ray during the trip home. Now they're back in SC. (As we see at the end of Arrow18) BUT when they got attacked, he saved her life, so she felt worried and definitely obligated not to break up with him. She decided to stick with him, especially in his time of need. (but she still cared for him, so it wasn't like, shit i have to stick this out a little longer thing) However, when Ray shouted out the ILY, Felicity realized yes this isn't right. (Hence the freak out and Mom talk) Sooo when we see Arrow 19 this wed. Felicity is actually breaking up with Ray in this episode. That's my theory.
Yeah keep on blaming fans for the way CW operates. Its never their fault. Its fans who strong arm them into not promoting Laurel. They had no problem making a promo with only costumed people. I didn't see them taking a poll before that.

ReplyDeleteWhy not? Isn't it sexism on their part? The only female super hero in that ad is avoided in posters this week. Barry, Oliver, Roy and even Ray (3 days left) got a poster. The only other hero who got avoided was Firestorm. But he is a recurring character. I disliked the costume ad. But I dislike this even more.

Timeline wise this episode doesn't fit anywhere in episodes 17 and 18 (action or romantic wise) but for the sake of my sanity I'm going to believe that this episode happened after Oliver disabled the suit and before the attack in the mayor's office. And I'm hoping Barry says something to Felicity about Oliver (he has to defend his bro!). Anyway I agree that they will break up in episode 19 (everyone is actually looking forward to that scene). The question here, does Ray acknowledge the fact that he knows who the Arrow is or not?
ReplyDeleteI never said it was a promo on the go. They probably prepared for it a lot but they filmed it during that panel since everyone was already there. They timed it.
ReplyDeleteFor the sake of this F**ked up TL, this happened BEFORE. (Although it doesn't fit b/c there wasn't time) But that's just my take on it. It cushions the blow. That's a good question, that unfortunately won't be answered til tonight. BUT I will say, in this episode, IF Ray knows Oliver's identity in this episode, then you're right, it's after the events of the shooting/hospital scenes. If Ray doesn't know, then I'm right, and it happened before. I have no doubt that Barry will put Felicity aside and talk to him. In fact, I feel Barry will have something to do with it once he sees this Ray, (ugh) and not be too forth coming. But be more like, "Wait what? Who's this guy?" = /

What an instant man-crush Cisco had on Ray.....I expect he'll get a sex change and want Ray's babies....:)) They finished sentances for each other the whole episode. It was a geek love fest. Don't get me wrong I like Cisco (what a great name for a Geek =) .
Seems to the the crossover had two goals.....break up Iris/Eddie and out Wells....so I guess it was a success in that respect..... I know I'm probably in the minority but I really don't want Iris with Barry.... she made her choice...
I hope the second half of the crossover tonight is better, but I think this one will leave that taste in my mouth too..... Their going to have Felicity and Oliver hook up and make her look a little Elena-ish.....at least Oliver and Ray aren't brothers....hahahhahah

Now I think they will release it before episode 3x21 if they do as it is a Laurel heavy episode. They should have released it with Oliver and Roy. They released Barry's then too. Today they released Malcolm and Reverse Flash. Even villains get preference over female heroes.

ReplyDeleteI can understand the reasoning behind Laurel's lack of a poster but why does Roy have one when he isn't even on the show anymore. They took so long to get these posters out that because of the plot line now one of the characters is gone. For people who are excited to see Roy on the show its false advertising.
