  1. I'm always amazed by the ability of transforming a beautiful looking woman like KC in to a completely different person. Aside from the awful Photoshop the poster looks good, the colors are great.

  2. FINALLY! That's all i got to say...

    ReplyDelete
  3. I hope there's gonna be more Laurel in season 4!

    ReplyDelete
  4. So much photoshop. It almost looks like it was computer generated.

  5. Ohhh I don't know whats wrong with me and my spelling today.
I would've pt Oliver as well, but I hate the pose.

    ReplyDelete
  6. There we go. Glad they finally got one out for her. The expression on her face is kinda weird - it almost looks like they Photoshopped her mouth back in the wrong place. Is that just me? That's annoying. But I'm glad they finally got a poster out from this campaign for the only female superhero. And I'm into the backlighting and that Laurel has her baton - I love that her weapons are police batons.

  7. at this point we should not be surprise with the photoshop addiction the cw marketing department has, its ridiculous.

  8. Me too, I hope she spends the hiatus trainining so she can be even better next season. They need to learn how to focus and center the attention on the group. It feels like she was important for three or four episodes and then it was back to being a background character, it doesnt fully feel as if she was part of the team.

The point is we needed a female superhero

    ReplyDelete
  10. I would not say no point, but I've never liked how they handled the her becoming the BC story or that they wrote her as a legitamite full team member.

    ReplyDelete
  11. They could of done a better job at handling it though.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I wouldn't say it feels like she is a legitimate full team member, sometimes it feels like the forget about her.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm just glad it's not that hilariously awkward photo she took with Cisco last week.

  14. Finally!!!!...thats my girl!!!! Canary Cry is up this Wednesday!!!!!

  15. Laurel looks cool. I was hoping it was merely taking awhile.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I hope the costume is an ongoing evolution. What she's wearing right now is functional but, and I know this sounds lame, it's not all that cool.

    ReplyDelete
  17. That's kind of sexist, isn't it? Also, I'm pretty sure Thea will join Team Arrow sooner or later.

    ReplyDelete
  18. exactly. not sure if she's "officially" a full team member, sure doesn't feel that way. I never saw the need for additional members anyway, not even Roy.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Well I knew she had one just glad they finally released it.. Looks good

    ReplyDelete
  20. Roy always felt useful and helpful. And I think he (and eventually Thea) are needed. They allow Oliver to learn to let people help him, hold on to his humanity when he's Green Arrow in the field, and can do what he does when he's not available or finally takes off the hood. And backup is never not helpful.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Huh mines a metallic Reverse Flash emblem.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Do you actually watch Arrow or do you just skip the parts without Olicity? Because the answer to your question is in the show.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Mine is Oliver in his Arrow suit.

    ReplyDelete
  24. except Laurel is barely in some episodes. And then her scenes are often not really important.
I'm an Olicity shipper, yes, but that's not why I watch the show and it has nothing to do why I think Laurel is a bad and pointless character. With non-answers like this you just prove my point.

    ReplyDelete
  25. yeah, but was he needed? With Roy and lately with Thea, Diggle was a lot less in the field. Oliver always had a backup man and of all the (potential) sidekicks I like Diggle the most. I'm not saying it can't work with Laurel (or Thea), but the team didn't miss anything when it was just Oliver, Felicity and Diggle. And I don't like Laurel.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Diggle's not a sidekick or a costumed hero Roy was Oliver's protege and partner. He was someone Oliver trained, trusted and was a brother to. Good for Oliver. Diggle was also his brother, but it's different with Roy he was his partner, he relied on him having his back (and he did) in a way Felicity and Diggle couldn't. Well sucks for you since you'll have to watch her.

    ReplyDelete
  27. That doesn't prove any point, except that you hate Laurel.

    ReplyDelete
  28. it kind of does. so far no one has made any kind of argument for Laurel (being female doesn't count). Why is that? Maybe because the show has down a terrible job with what was supposed to be the female lead character? If you or I like her or not isn't even the point. Just think how the show would look like if Laurel wasn't in it. She's not essential (and please don't say she's an important character in the comics).

    ReplyDelete
  29. The show does keep making her irrelevant at the weirdest times though. She worked with Roy the most while Oliver was gone, but she's not in on the plan to get him out of jail? She's not there to say goodbye? Does she even know that he's not really dead?

The show went out of its way to show us that Laurel and Thea care about each other - that's a relationship that goes all the way back to season 1. But did she even know that Thea was injured? Did anyone think to tell her? There should have at least been a scene where Oliver asked her to take care of the city (which would've been a huge development considering how adversarial they've been over the whole vigilante thing), but nope. They cut that.

It's just weird how and when they choose to sideline her.

And I'm just joining the conversation, not advocating for killing her off or anything like that.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Very. My feminist side is pacified now.

    ReplyDelete
  31. At last. Still hate the mask though. Make it small. Darken the area around her eyes. If I say this every time her photo is shown will they change it? May be not.

    ReplyDelete
  32. That's not how an argument works. And you're wrong, she was important in the Brick arc. She helped comfort Felicity after Oliver's disappearance. She helped Oliver when he was arrested and helped track and fight the league. And she will help get Oliver back and best Ra's. Laurel while you may not like it has been important to Arrow recently. And she will continue to do so as she's the Black Canary.

    ReplyDelete
  33. LMAO. He is such a jerk!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hmm, I agree with some of the things... But I don't think Laurel will help Oliver best Ra's. Help get him back physically? Sure. But not help him best Ra's. I think that will be all Nyssa/Malcolm

    ReplyDelete
  35. The team (including Thea) will help defeat Ra's al Ghul and the league.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think they'll all play their part... Here's how I think it'll go:

Laurel/Ray/Thea - take out the lesser LoA members (beginners. Although IDK why Ra's would ever let them out in the field)

Digg/Malcolm/Nyssa/Maseo stick with Oliver and has his back while they go up against the more experienced LoA members.

In the end though when up against Ra's (boss level, heh), I think it'll be down to Nyssa/Oliver Vs. Ra's. Maybe they both take him down? Because Nyssa/Oliver vs Ra's would be kind of awesome to watch.

Also I wonder how Felicity will fit into all of this. Maybe she uses her tech to guide them through the whole thing?

    ReplyDelete
  37. They have the prettiest actors on TV, and they are still not satisfied.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I could see Malcolm potentially fighting Ra's. But I feel more likely he'll try to help Thea if she's in danger. I should have ben more clear, I don't think Laurel will fight Ra's. By that I meant help beat the league. Well most of the league aren't beginners and even beginners compared to anyone but Oliver, Roy, or anyone with league training dominate.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Katie Cassidy doesn't want dark color around her eyes, she said that she wants the costume to be more feminine.

    ReplyDelete
  40. This looks pretty cool. I hope they release a Ra's poster.

    ReplyDelete
  41. He told them she was hurt though, that's why they showed up at the hospital. Did he not even tell Laurel that much?

    ReplyDelete
  42. I searched for him in the poster even before looking at Laurel because I KNEW he'd be there.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think Felicity said they heard. And he never appeared to call them. No idea. I think he did tell her. But again no confirmation.

    ReplyDelete
  44. It's ok happens all the time to me.
Mine is not Oliver's "Hero Fight Club" poster, it's from episode 4 when he was looking at Felicity. It's angsty I know but I like it lol

    Sexist?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Was there an interview where she said that? Can you give me a link to it please if possible. Personally I think it is absolutely stupid to to not color around the eyes and having half gloves. Sara's and Helena's masks have dark color around their eyes. I find them extremely sexy in their costumes.

    ReplyDelete
  47. If I understood you correctly you say we need Laurel because she's female. How else would you describe an argument like that? Why should it matter if the show has a female hero?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Stephanie ElizabethApril 27, 2015 at 11:15 PM

I'm not saying that we need Laurel because she's a female superhero, I'm saying that Laurel has been integral to the plot and that the face that she is female is just a pro but not the entire reason she is needed.

    ReplyDelete
  49. She hasn't and it's not a pro (not a con either).

  50. http://uk.eonline.com/news/616846/how-katie-cassidy-helped-create-the-black-canary-s-sexy-but-smart-new-look-on-arrow

    ReplyDelete
  51. Thanks for the article. I never read this. Seriously!!! They should never have allowed her to give advice and more than that took that up. Finger less gloves and non darkened eyes was her idea? Ever heard of finger prints? Vigilantes wear gloves for a reason. I wish they had darkened her eyes and kept her lipstick normal. Also I don't get how BC gets the time to do her nails every time she wears the costume.

Can anyone tell me where the fishnet pattern is there in this costume? It was there in Sara's pants. I don't see it in Laurel. Is it the under shirt?

    ReplyDelete
  52. could she be any more gorgeous...

    ReplyDelete
  53. Finally! She looks awesome! I knew they where only taking their time.

    ReplyDelete
  54. She looks fine. The mask looks fine, the costume looks fine. Sara-Canary and Huntress may have worn gloves, but they also "had time" to put lipstick on every time they dressed in costume. Let's not forget it's a superhero show, albeit the most gritty and realistic one ever produced for television. But still stretching the boundaries of physics and reality with the abilities and accomplishments of the human heroes as well as the meta-human heroes.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Agree to disagree. Glad that you like the mask and gloves. I don't.
Love the hair though. BTW do you know where the fishnet pattern is in her costume? I don't see it.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I hate how Laurel's grown on me. Pretty sure I'd still hate her if Felicity (Laurel 2.0) wasn't so annoying though.

    ReplyDelete
  57. It's not there from what I can see. Wasn't there a period in the comics where they were eliminated from the costume, when the character had short hair? So the 1940s fishnet design hasn't always been in the comics either.

The costumes evolve. Flash's will change. Arrow's has changed and will change further. Huntress' is totally different (although they paid homage to the original comics version when Helena posed as a dancer in the strip club). Most likely Black Canary's will change also, although Sara's version was closer to the "traditional" version including the big Dolly Parton hair.

    ReplyDelete
  58. That's what I thought. I don't think the fishnet design is necessary. That is not what defines BC. But in the article above KC said they have the fishnet design weaved through out the costume. That's why I asked. I hope the costume evolves. And I really hope her mask becomes smaller and her eyes darkened LoL. You can see I have a huge problem with it. I need to get over it.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Ah, you'll be fine. ;)

We will have to start scrutinizing hi-rez photos of Cassidy in costume. It's quite possible the pattern remains, but it isn't apparent in video form. The simulated garter belts suggest a play on fishnet stockings, but I haven't noticed the design on the lower leggings. The camisole she wears under the leather jacket is a lace mesh design, and it's not visible most of the time, so I don't think the pattern would be incorporated there.

Hey, at least the character now has the Canary Cry, which appears to function exactly the same as it does with the comics' meta-human version of the character, so that's a huge plus and an indicator that the costumes continue to evolve as much as the characters do.

    ReplyDelete
  60. That just shows what happens when a female character's storyline revolves around being a love interest. If only the show didn't push the Lauliver romantic relationship in season one but instead started developing Laurel/BC as a character from the beginning I doubt the hate for the character would exist in the first place.

  61. Amazing!!!!!!!! My fav Arrow girl forever my girl!!!!
