Guess we're coming back full circle. Does this mean he'll stop referring to himself in the third person?
ReplyDeleteOH THANK GOD! The horrendous identity crisis will be over!!!!!!! *internal screaming*
ReplyDeleteI don't think so. He's already told us 60+ that his name is Oliver Queen lol
ReplyDeleteSo that rounds of this seasons theme of Identity.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping the finale would be called "The Storm."
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this could involve some weird 'time whimey' flashy whashy' time travel 'mombo jumbo' where the show ends with Robbie Amell ( yes I know I didn't say Stephen ) standing before Laurel or Sara or Felicity saying "My name is Oliver Queen."
ReplyDeleteThe title doesn't come up for me. What is it?
ReplyDeletePersonally he can wear whatever costume he wants but I want Oliver back in Starling with the team. I really would love a more home-based season like 1 and 2. Let HIVE come to Starling instead of them traipsing about the world going after HIVE.
ReplyDelete"My Name is Oliver Queen"
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm really hoping the title means what I think it mean...
ReplyDeleteHa! True. But maybe now he'll actually listen to himself.
ReplyDeletethis episode better be oliver getting his company, his house, his team, his city and his identity back because he has lost all of that this season.
ReplyDeletePersonally I'd love to see him go off on Capt. Lance with that line. He's not Queen. He's not the Arrow. He's not the Hood. He's Oliver Queen.
ReplyDeleteYup, him or Ra's, the latter of whom is my guess to be on the receiving end. Assuming he says it and it isn't just an epiphany he has.
ReplyDeleteSo much for Al Sawhateverthatnameiswritten... He is Oliver again o/
ReplyDeleteThat's a shocking title for a finale!
ReplyDeleteGreat title! Loving it. Really interested to see how they will end the LoA story and get Oliver out of it.
ReplyDeleteLogically someone just has to kill Ra's. If, for example, Nyssa killed him then she would become the new leader and could choose her own heir.
ReplyDeleteKilling Ra's? I doubt it. Really doubt they will to those lengths and would be a bit to predictable.
ReplyDeleteWow. Identity crisis averted!!! Yay!! I was surprised by this title.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you come up with these ideas? LOL. Its crazy ;)
ReplyDeleteMy imagination ! ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's very vivid and cool :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome. So he's finally accepted he's both.
ReplyDeleteDo we really want that train wreck running around for the next few seasons. Frankly let's off him and have a new leader who keeps the whole crazy story over there...
ReplyDeleteI like the identity crisis. Really just tore him up and forced him to deal with all the shit he's had for years
ReplyDeleteI'm a little bit disappointed with this season. Season 2 was much better.
ReplyDeleteRight. Except Ra's is much stronger than Nyssa and is Ra's al Ghul.
ReplyDeleteCharacter wise I much prefer three. Story wise I like 2 more.
ReplyDeleteWith Ra's I think you have to surprise him or outsmart him.
ReplyDeleteNo but killing him? Me not likey!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
ReplyDeleteOh I think it is high time to get that psycho off the show. I wasn't a fan the first time they introduced him and I do not like the idea of him roaming around and causing trouble any time they feel they need an unbeatable powerhouse causing trouble.
ReplyDeleteNo he's going to accept that he's both. He'll no longer refer to himself as the Arrow. The Arrow is not a separate identity, it's a part of him. A part of Oliver Queen.
ReplyDeleteHe'll become Oliver Queen who will be the GREEN Arrow in S04.
ReplyDeleteBut who knows! This is just crazy stuff.
What do you think it means ?
ReplyDeleteI liked it too in theory but it took SO long and they made a lot of frustrating choices, plus seeing him miserable for an entire season has been very painful.
ReplyDeleteThis might mean Oliver finally accepting himself as a human been again after 8 years (5 on the island honk kong, etc and almost 3 of his return)
ReplyDeleteThis season 3 identity crisis was interesting but I think enough is enough...
Back to the basics it's good too...
Villains, heroes, save a city and a life to live ...
I love it too. It's better than I could've ever imagined. Do you think the season will end on a happy note?
ReplyDeleteYeah but still Ra's is an iconic character. Don't know how the fandom is going to react.
ReplyDeleteThat the "time travel" rumour is true and we'll *fingers crossed* being going back to the start of episode 3x01 initiating a complete redo of the season.
ReplyDeleteMaybe but that would be very OOC for him lol
ReplyDeleteI hope so. What if the season ends with Oliver giving up on vigilantism and wanting to live a normal life?
ReplyDeleteI really really hope so.
ReplyDeleteNo clue! I don't want it to end. Can't believe a 5 month hiatus is coming our way. Terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope it closes the LoA story once and for all and ends on a happy but intriguing note. I still hoping for Sandra and Connor to enter Starling in the closing moments. I'm so into that child story while most people hate it.
Ra's is a title actually so Ra's would still exist.
ReplyDeleteThis is surprised just because it's not a single-word title as with the previous two seasons.
ReplyDeleteBut this gives me hope that Ollie's identity crisis is finally over, but it should be since it basically overlapped two seasons, lol.
Wonder if this is a sign that the beginning of each episode will change now.
He realizes that his show isn on The CW and perhaps the network's targeted demo is a bit forgetful, lol.
ReplyDeleteI doubt it. He already decided that he's the vigilante because people are depending on him and rediscovered his purpose as a hero, and they tried something similar in season 1.
ReplyDeleteYou know what I really want? A parallel to the premiere, a scene with him and Quentin catching a criminal, Quentin tells him that he was wrong about what he did and he was right in the beginning when he called him a hero in front of everyone, Oliver thanks him and leaves for an Olicity/Dyla double date :D
Interesting title but didn't someone on the show mention that Oliver (in season 4 ) would be even more withdrawn/contemplative of his future/be depressed (or something to that affect)?
ReplyDeleteI don't mind character with layers and crack and issues etc... but clearly a lot of other folks do. if I see the word "simple" or "basic" again I may heave.
I do like where this title may take us, to the idea of a whole "Green Arrow/Oliver"
Where did you hear about that regarding Ollie?
ReplyDeleteI would love this if it were true. He's embracing both himself and his alter ego and he's making sure people identify him as his entire name and not just 'Queen'.
ReplyDeleteIt did take way too long, especially when you consider that it basically started back in S2. This season is when just everything hit the fan and Ollie ended up with almost nothing left.
ReplyDeleteWhy did you remind me :( :(
ReplyDelete(I didn't read that, I'm staying in my happy bubble)
I think they will, they wrap up the season arc in the finale.
I'm kinda neutral about that story.
actually in the comics its not. the current leader of the LOA is Talia al Ghul
ReplyDeleteTrue.
ReplyDeleteTime travel or anything of the short wouldn't make Ollie look totally different. It's not like Barry is going back to where Ollie is first being conceived, lol.
ReplyDeleteI do love that intro though lol
ReplyDeleteSee, I hope that this is just the first stage of him becoming Green Arrow and not just The Arrow especially when that name is tainted now because of him joining the LoA and taking a League persona('Al Sah-him').
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to find the link again, it may have been something Marc said.
ReplyDeletewas it averted or did he go through it this and previous seasons? isn't that kind of the point of the series to see him go from a damaged conflicted person with mildly good intentions to the wise-cracking, fun, sometime overly righteous Green Arrow?
ReplyDeleteOh, I would hate that if it was from Marc. After such an identity crisis, Ollie needs to act different than the usual.
ReplyDeleteI think, if I can recall correctly, he might meant more reflective, like making decisions etc... but for the life of me, and the avalanche of Arrow news/info/ I can't find it.
ReplyDeleteI do know that in Hollywood Reporter Amell said in s4 Oliver would be different.
"This will make perfect sense when you see season four, but the Arrow
persona, the vigilante, the hood — that's a flawed persona," he says.
"We saw it be flawed. We saw him lose. There has to be something more.
We'll see that eventually."
also
" the ramifications of Oliver's duel with Ra's Al Ghul continue well into next season."
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/arrow-season-4-stephen-amell-770357
Sorry. But as the finales are approaching I start to panic.
ReplyDeleteI just don't know how the chapter will end. Really confusing. Especially with Flash airing a week later and Sara possibly coming back.
He said that Oliver might crack a smile in Season 4...
ReplyDeleteif he means overall mood wise, that might be a nice change of pace. I don't mind him begin serious but a little less batman-like would also be welcomed.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly.
ReplyDeleteI think that's were they're going. Him choosing Oliver Queen might light the mood A LOT.
ReplyDeleteSo, How are "Public Enemy" and "Al-Saheem" titles with spoilers and "My Name is Oliver Queen" not, when it spoils the resolution of the whole arc? LMFAO!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's a good thing. If they did go with Flashpoint then it'll happen after Arrow season finale and be resolved before season 4 premiere; it means we won't feel the effects on Arrow.
ReplyDeletemaybe it does and maybe it doesn't. it could be a red herring/double bluff.
ReplyDeleteMarc just shared a photo pf the table read and Willa and Colton are not there!
ReplyDeleteFrom the photo we know the following characters are will be in the finale: Oliver, Felicity, Diggle, Tatsu, Ray, Malcolm, Laurel and Ra's.
you don't see the whole table and did he take or someone else?
ReplyDeleteI think someone else because he's in LA and they are in Vancouver.
ReplyDeleteOh, I read this interview before and I think this just means the beginning of the 'Green Arrow' persona. Ollie will have to come to a stage where he isn't compromising. Even after choosing to be a hero and not a killer, he does have this idea that he should still kill, but in S4 all of that is going to change, and I also think what he meant is that The Arrow name has been trained, especially when he ends up choosing a League name based on that. The Arrow persona is indeed flawed, but tainted too.
ReplyDeleteI surely hope so. But if Sara is really brought back it will effect Arrow no matter what.
ReplyDeleteUgh! Not what I wanted to hear...
ReplyDeleteWe'll find out in May 19th.
ReplyDeleteI didn't want to write it either.
ReplyDeleteindeed, as much as many people hate this season (i do not) it was completely necessary to setup a lot of the good stuff that is to come.
ReplyDeleteit reminds me of that Churchill quote (the show visually depicting it)
"If you're going through hell, keep going."
isn't Willa that chick with black hair next to Katie?
ReplyDeletewe need some serious CSI tech to enhance the pages behind Stephen, Barrowman and Matt
think positive if both are missing it probably means that they just skipped town and are both very much alive
ReplyDeletewell, think of it this way Roy could die and then be resurrected by the pit and stays with the league as a bargain for his life.
ReplyDeleteThat's Rila Fukushima.
ReplyDeletereally? I couldn't tell but you're probably right on that. I'm kinda betting on Katana sticking around giving us a chance to see the BoP in action again (Laurel, Nyssa, Katana and maybe Helena would be great)
ReplyDeletewonder when he'll finally adopt Green Arrow as his name
ReplyDeletethat sounds like a series finale title, but luckily Arrow has been renewed for a 4th season. We've already seen that Oliver takes the mantle (quite literally) of the league of assassins at least briefly, maybe that means he's going back to being the Arrow? I'm thinking like "my name isn't Ra's al Ghul, my name is Oliver Queen!"
ReplyDeleteHE'S CHOOSING TO BE OLIVER QUEEN! YEEEEEEEEEEEEY
ReplyDeleteI KNOW!!! Let's all rejoice, shall we?
ReplyDeleteLET'S!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy, you have no idea! Or you probably do, oh well, let's just be done with the identity crisis for god sake! After this season I never want to hear from Nanda Parbat and Ra's Al Ghul ever again.
I so very much agree.
ReplyDeleteOf course I do. When I wrote *internal screaming* that wasn't just an expression; I was literally screaming on the inside and saying "OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD" on the outside lol
We shouldn't be this excited that a fictional character is choosing to be himself hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteSpecially since he says every single episode, MY NAME IS OLIVER QUEEN BLABLABLABLA... hahahahhahaha
ReplyDeleteExactly lol
ReplyDeleteOh well, I REGRET NOTHING haha
And S3 has certainly been feeling like hell for a lot of reasons, but I agree....this season had to happen. It wouldn't have felt like a natural progression if this season didn't happen.
ReplyDeleteNot only should this end the whole identity crisis thing but I think this could possibly be yet another public coming out party for Oliver. One that will stick.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit this is serious! It's going down. I smell transformation. This had Green Arrow written all over it.
ReplyDeletewhat do you mean? what do you mean by public coming out party for Oliver?
ReplyDeleteIt was too long and too angsty.
ReplyDeleteThat was my thought too.
ReplyDeletewhat does Bruce mean by that
ReplyDeleteSort of. Ra's al Ghul is the title of the leader of the Demon. But he's also an near immortal with great significance and this one appears to be the actual comic book character adaptation wise, just with a slightly altered backstory. And no main Arrow villain has died so I doubt one as big as Ra's al Ghul will die (particularly since if they ever wanted to do three series teamup they could just adapt his Tower of Babel plan) due to the gold mine of stories you could do with him as a villain.
ReplyDeleteYeah that's for the best. Well sort of. She's crazy, but still better than Ra's.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very specific want Koky lol. I do hope Quentin come to his senses by the end of this season. But I have to wonder even if Oliver gets out of the league and returns how on earth can he remain as Arrow in Starling City?
ReplyDeleteI strongly believe that will happen in Season 5 last episode.
ReplyDeleteIt means, he hopes/thinks Oliver will come out to the public.
ReplyDeleteOkay averted was the wrong word. Resolved would be the correct term. I hope next season he lightens up a bit more.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling he will take the Green Arrow moniker only by the end of season 5 when all his ghosts from the past are laid to rest. But I do hope he lightens up next season.
ReplyDeleteThey only kill bad ass women and Tommy. No bad dudes will ever die on Arrow LOL.
ReplyDeleteThe choices only personally for me served to stress Oliver's loss of self. That's why I loved The Offer and Suicidial Tendencies because amongst all that pain, desperation to save those he loves and how much much his life began crumbling Oliver realized why he has to fight, why he doesn't want to be a killer. Not just that he shouldn't be like in season one or two out of a honour to Tommy, but why he does not want to be that again.
ReplyDeleteIf they do it again I think it will be by his own accord. It's part of my longshot theory that they'll make Oliver mayor next season.
ReplyDeleteI believe that was the point. I think his identity will be far different though. In a easier humanity way than his more guarded just the Arrow bit from the past seasons.
ReplyDeleteOh he'll no longer be the Arrow. He'll become Green Arrow.
ReplyDeletethis is a good question. I don't see any politician at city hall or the police trusting the arrow again even if he is found innocent......
ReplyDeleteI believe the producers said he be talking the code name soon.
ReplyDeletePretty sure the finale.
ReplyDeleteProbably. The narration does each season. Hopefully he'll be Green Arrow.
ReplyDeleteI think he will be "Green Arrow" at end of season 3 and start of season 4 but he won't be call that anytime soon
ReplyDeleteI read in a twitter he must earn the the codename "green arrow"
ReplyDeleteit means he will wear the hood and unveil himself in public.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling he will be, that is what the season has setup.
ReplyDeletewilla is being fitted for a mask. they wouldnt do that then kill her in next episode. roy however may be in prison for season 4.
ReplyDeletebut if he reveals to the city he the green arrow he would be targeted by every criminal in the city
ReplyDeleteWhich is not much different than it is now.
ReplyDeletewell it is. he doesn't have a "public" persona. the criminals are after "the Arrow" not Oliver Queen. If he comes "out" and associates Queen with the Arrow he would never be able to live his life as Queen because everyone would be after him and anyone he associates with as Queen.
ReplyDeleteYeah you had me up til there. = / lol that is long shot. Let's save that for season 4 finale. LOL
ReplyDeleteI don't agree. He's under siege all the time as it is and his live as Oliver Queen and the Arrow are one and the same. Also, at this point, any run of the mill street level thug who went after Oliver after everyone he's taken down over the years would be nuts. There won't be many people gunning for him simply because it's probably a losing proposition for most people.
ReplyDeleteTechnically, the season 4 finale is in season 4 so you've inadvertently just agreed with me. :P
ReplyDeleteHe probably will in this episode.
ReplyDeleteyeah yeah. Says you. ; )
ReplyDeleteum, well no. that was the point of the season and why he said "I can't be Oliver Queen and the Arrow" he picked the Arrow. He doesn't live a public life as Oliver Queen not like he use to and not how it is in the comics right now. This was his "path" to finding a way to be both and eventually be the Green Arrow.
ReplyDeleteAlso, in the comics the Green Arrow is who is and Oliver Queen is his beard.
That's not the point of the season. It's not about who he picked. It's the identity crisis, as in 'I don't know which one I am.' The point is picking is stupid and pointless because Oliver is the Arrow and the Arrow is Oliver. When he accepts that this is just a part of who he is he can move forward and become Green Arrow.
ReplyDeleteRight, yes and his picked the Arrow. I didn't say it was the right choice or that it was his final choice but the pony he was riding till he comes to a realization that this isn't exactly working out.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, if you put it on the same level as Batman, Wonder Woman etc... could they still function being "outed"? also, how many DC sups do you know who have "outed" themselves? That is more a Marvel thing.
I hope next season's villain HIVE is an external bad guy and does not cause much internal trauma to Oliver like last three seasons. Season 1- Undertaking, Moira, Tommy died, Season 2 - MIrakuru, Slade, Moira died, Season 3 - Malcolm, LoA, Sara died. I hope next season bad guy does not have any personal connection to Oliver or Thea.
ReplyDeleteThey said that. Cool. So maybe sometime next season.
ReplyDeleteThe nice thing isn't beholden to other DC characters or their comic counterparts. Arrow has tweaked, changed, and gone in their own direction numerous times for which I am usually thankful, with a few exceptions.
ReplyDeletethat would be refreshing. though there is the Dig connection and the Felicity storyline, so.....
ReplyDeleteYes, true. some things I like and others, well not so much. I'm a bit more interested in see how, of it, they are going to bring out more of the traditional GA personality traits seeing as, so far, he has been really restrained.
ReplyDeleteFlashpoint if done it will be at least a two episode arc. One episode to show the situation of the altered time line and next episode to course correct. I still don't think Sara's come back will be due to Barry time travelling.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they will introduce Rip Hunter in the last episode and he will go back in time and retrieve Sara before she hits the pavement or she is LP's somehow. Joining Flash time travel with Arrow seems to be too confusing to execute for me.
That is fine. Let them have the emotional beat for a change. Let Oliver be the supporting voice for a change. Villains have been tormenting Oliver inside out for 3 years. I hope next year he is able to approach the villain in a strategic way and not emotional way like Slade, Malcolm and Ra's.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a welcome change. Maybe when he finally comes to terms with who he is he can loosen up a little and maybe crack a joke once in a while.
ReplyDeleteI really want to see a bit more a fun but rational Oliver tackling a problem. though I am concerned with Felicity especially is they are "together" it might veer in that direction.
ReplyDeletehopefully, and I am struggle to imagine what that would be like but look forward to it.
ReplyDeleteI hope not. For once let Felicity and Diggle be emotional and Oliver stand by them supporting and helping them. *fingers crossed*. His intensity needs to be toned down.
ReplyDeleteWilla and Paul got their scripts in LA.
ReplyDeletehttps://scontent.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xaf1/t51.2885-15/e15/11137765_1414894482159983_1780647699_n.jpg
I hope so. It would be a nice change, really nice.
ReplyDeleteI hope it will never be "Green Arrow", just Arrow is fine. and after all it's the name of the show
ReplyDeleteanyone see this BTS photo
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/mguggenheim/status/585895584940167168
Reboot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOK so they are safe. What about Roy? :(
ReplyDeletehow about the HIVE villain being a starling city citizen again.......could be the least expected.......
ReplyDeleteA female villain would be awesome. I hope they portray HIVE as a really complicated organization with some varied members. The main villain could be based in Starling or they could expand their operations to Starling next year.
ReplyDeletehow complicated? HIVE will probably have a team of trained killers to fight against team arrow.
ReplyDelete@Graydon told me the producers have said Green Arrow moniker may come sooner. So it could very well be used next season. Like you said this season has been a big change with league membership and Starling City knowing his identity for a brief time. So the name change can happen next season.
ReplyDeleteOh is that what HIVE is? A group of trained killers. I thought they might be a group with lot of moles/operatives in lot of different fields like law enforcement, judiciary and other public and private businesses. It would be fun any harmless looking employee or judge turn around and becomes a lawyer.
ReplyDeleteI googled HIVE I can see it won't happen.
If anything, the fifth season could end with him being fully in control of his life such as his company doing well, him being in a better-than-average relationship with Laurel and "Team Arrow" doing well enough that the police don't have to use all of their utilities anymore. I just don't see the name of Green Arrow not being used next season. Starling City changes to Star City and The Arrow becomes Green Arrow. It's a perfect parallel, so that could explain why the writers wanted to tarnish the name of The Arrow. I wouldn't be shocked if The Arrow's costume is burned either that Ra's al Ghul forces him to do because that would also make sense especially after the flashbacks of Ollie telling Mei about how Shado and Yao Fei are dead. It sort of reflects to that part of his past can now be put to rest, so could the infamous green hoodie he used.
ReplyDeleteSince Roy surrendered with Arrow costume I have a feeling we will see a brand new costume next year. I hope it is better than Roy's and the hood is not leather like his. Also if he accept his dual identity this season then as you said it will be the stepping stone for him to leave Yao Fei's hood.
ReplyDeleteI can see him taking Green Arrow moniker too next year. What I can't see is how on earth are they going to work in Starling city after the city has turned on Arrow.
Oh yah; I totally forgot that it would be a pretty much given anyways that the SCPD would confiscate the suit. But hey, Ollie could always just take one of the League's many Arrow suits, lol. But good point about that.
ReplyDeleteAnd Team Arrow being able to work in Starling will definitely be tricky. Perhaps they will gain the city's support once again? But, with all of this debacle going on with Ollie for the second time, this could definitely help Ollie's imagine...him running for alderman or the mayor and one of his templates is to help "straighten out" the police.
Umm, his name IS "Green Arrow" it's going to happen in the show eventually. I personally can't wait for the day.
ReplyDeleteit isn't on the show (yet). There is absolutely no need to stay close to the comics. In fact I think that's a bad idea. keeping Laurel on the show for example.
ReplyDeleteKey word.."yet". And you'll be mighty disappointed when it happens. I feel for you. Believe me.
ReplyDeleteIt's not really that big of a deal. I just think "Arrow" sounds better without the "Green". The hood always has been green anyway, so it's just a name change. Or do you think there will come other changes with it?
ReplyDeleteI think they will honor him like he's supposed to be honored and give him his real name. Now WHEN? Idk. But yes, that is the change that will come with the show.
ReplyDelete
