I actually think that might be one of Malcolm's better moments. The Pit is supposed to change people, and apparently not for the better. He's trying to let her know that if she doesn't want to come back as something potentially bad or completely different than who she is now, he's letting her go. It's actually nice and somewhat selfless, so far as things Malcolm does go.
What is the logic behind Felicity making this trip to Nanda Parbat? She's going into the very heart of the League of Assassins and for what? Moral support? There are no computers or tech so there's nothing to hack and she's no good in a fight if things go bad. Her presence there needlessly puts her in danger and gives Oliver one more thing to worry about when he should be focusing on Thea.
I'm guessing that Oliver likely hasn't made the decision to join the League before he leaves. It's probably the bargaining chip Ra's uses once he gets there so that doesn't track with me plus wanting to be there is a damn selfish reason if there's no guarantee of her safety in place for all the reasons I stated above.
At last I felt that Malcolm loves Thea in his own shitty way. "You don't have to come back if you don't want to". Such a father thing to say. Looks really intense.
Judging from everything we know about Oliver, I'm not so sure he wants her to go (and I think again from the synopsis that he does commit). But if we're talking safety no one but Oliver and Malcolm should go. Diggle is skilled but with all those assassins and Maseo he'd be destroyed easily.
I think they are just randomly showing scenes not all of which are related to Malcolm's voiceover. We know Laurel stays in Starling so they are just showing us that it's not just about Thea and Nanda Parbat.
HOT DAMN this looks amazing. Ra's has officially put his sword through both of the Queen siblings. They just can't catch a break. Looks like the Lazarus Pit will change Thea significantly. And I can't wait to find out who that mystery woman is. Sara?! Is that you??
Malcolm knows Thea. She's going to want to come back. Hello he trained her to be stronger/ better/ fearless, live!! She is HIS student, of course she's going to want to come back. I felt him whispering in her ear wasn't doing her any favors. She barely listens to him anyway. And the one person she loves, the only one she has left IS Oliver, she's going to want to be with her brother, not die to leave him alone. You may think it was a selfless act, iI however, see it as another one of his manipulations towards her.
Agreed, I think it's ridiculous that she's there. I'm also surprised that Malcolm is there, considering he set all these events into motion by killing Sara.
I don't think Malcolm has a guilty bone in his body. ---------------------------------Do you think there is any chance that Malcolm may end up becoming the Demons Head by seasons end ?
He seems genuinely remorseful now over the Undertaking and some guilt over what he did to Thea given his telling her to kill him in an attempt to help her heal. Despite all the horror Malcolm had caused there is some humanity in him.
Same reason why Digg is there. Moral support? Ra's intends his plan to work, so I doubt he'll be ordering his crew to kill any of Oliver's team members because Thea is enough to get Ra's what he wants. It's not about them screwing each other. It's about them supporting one another regardless of the risks. And I'm pretty sure Oliver knows what to expect when I they get to NP. If he thought it was too dangerous he would've kicked both felicity and diggle out of the plane.
Think she meant the BC walking. But it seems like that is a double in Sara's BC suit. Seems like Laurel will have a minor role in this ep once again as she stays behind with Ray.
she will have a bigger part in episode 21 when it will be LoA vs Nyssa & Laurel. Overall I hope they keep her role rather small, it's better for the show.
Yeah seems like from 3x21 she will join the main game. I'm a fan of S03 Laurel, especially since mid season. S02 she was poor but overall I rather enjoy her. But that is just me.
I enjoyed S3 Laurel, too. She's more fun when she's not reduced to a love interest for Oliver. They had zero chemistry. These two characters work out better in a platonic way. So far I like what the writers did with her in S3.
Honestly, for a second I thought she just threw her dress at him, and then I was like...well, when faced with an alternative I guess bad effects don't seem so awful.
I wouldn't say they didn't have chemistry at all, they had some intense scenes in S01 especially that hook up towards the end of the season. They were badly written, I mean they were doomed from the start with him cheating on her with Sara. But seems like Laliver won't happen anymore in this show. Laurel's arc this season is quite great, she stands up for herself, the development was believable and Katie pulled of great those emotional scenes she had throughout the season. Much better writing and execution for Laurel's character.
I'm glad that Lauliver won't happen anymore, 'cause the kind of relationship they have now is much more interesting. I like their friendship. Yepp, Laurel finally gets something decent to do. And I love her emerging friendship with Felicity. These two would make a great team on their own. (Birds of Prey) ;)
So it's traditional for new League members to say goodbye with their genitals? First the initiation ceremony, then the branding, then the goodbye screw? The League of Assassins is very odd. :P
I think Malcolm feels guilt but all of his emotions are selfish ones. Everything is about him even when it clearly isn't.
Interesting idea about Malcolm. I don't know how the show would swing it but Malcolm being Demon's Head would be interesting. Although, I'm not sure there would be enough material for him to continue on as a regular next season if that's where they're going with this.
That sounds like the porn version of Arrow, and someone is most likely already working on that.
But yeah, with Ollie accepting being Ras, there is bound to be a big goodbye coming, or the urgency of one, so he and Felicity are going to say fuck it, one for the road, and fuck each other.
I don't really get why you think it doesn't track if he doesn't commit to the league beforehand. Ra's is playing Oliver and I'm pretty sure Ra's knows that Oliver is going to cave because if Oliver was willing to die for Thea in 309 he'd be willing to become the next heir. Otherwise why would he go to NP? If he didn't want to sacrifice himself for Theas life he would've just stayed in Starling and buried his sister. Ra's is definitely expecting Oliver so why would he make it difficult for Oliver and his crew to get there? For kicks? That doesn't seem like ra's' style.
Oliver knows what it means to go to NP to save Thea's life. Ra's also knows. Oliver isn't dumb enough to go to NP and say "hey Ra's can you put my sis in Ur jacuzzi so we can bring her back to life and you get nothing in return because you're a good dude".
So could you enlighten me about why you think it doesn't track? Because it makes no sense to me
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Ra's is a real SOB and Malcolm is right up there with him. Even in Thea's death he's whispering shit in her ear. STFU!
ReplyDeleteThea jumping on Oliver looked bad... Bad effects are bad LOL
ReplyDeleteRest of the promo? Very much what we expected and theorized for weeks...
Malcolm is a SOB but i didn't see it that way on that promo. He is like "do what you want. If you don't want to come back, then don't".
ReplyDeleteI actually think that might be one of Malcolm's better moments. The Pit is supposed to change people, and apparently not for the better. He's trying to let her know that if she doesn't want to come back as something potentially bad or completely different than who she is now, he's letting her go. ReplyDeleteLOOKS INTENSE! this is really a big push for the show and I still don't know if I like it.
ReplyDeleteRight except Ra's won't touch her if Oliver is joining him. And she's one of the most important people in his life. She would want to be there.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing that Oliver likely hasn't made the decision to join the League before he leaves. It's probably the bargaining chip Ra's uses once he gets there so that doesn't track with me plus wanting to be there is a damn selfish reason if there's no guarantee of her safety in place for all the reasons I stated above.
ReplyDeleteshe jumps up like a f*cking monkey, never have I laughed so hard.
ReplyDeleteAt last I felt that Malcolm loves Thea in his own shitty way. "You don't have to come back if you don't want to". Such a father thing to say. Looks really intense.
ReplyDeletesame here
ReplyDeletei mean someone had to be taking the piss with that sequence, they just had to.
ReplyDeleteJudging from everything we know about Oliver, I'm not so sure he wants her to go (and I think again from the synopsis that he does commit). But if we're talking safety no one but Oliver and Malcolm should go. Diggle is skilled but with all those assassins and Maseo he'd be destroyed easily.
ReplyDeleteI agree about Oliver. He'll likely want to do this all by himself if this arrangement is set up in advance.
ReplyDeleteHey Malcolm may be a psychotic monster at times but he does in his often twisted way love his family.
ReplyDeleteIs this suppose to hint at Sara?vIt doesnt look like Laurels suit.
ReplyDeletehttps://pbs.twimg.com/media/CCreZvzUsAAyvtW.jpg
Just like a cat out of the bath tub.
ReplyDeleteThat is Sara's suit and wig but it is not Caity Lotz. For a moment I thought it was China White. But that's not her either.
ReplyDeleteProbably the stunt woman.
ReplyDeleteYeah they wanted to hint this and maybe indicate they already used it on someone.
ReplyDeleteI think they are just randomly showing scenes not all of which are related to Malcolm's voiceover. We know Laurel stays in Starling so they are just showing us that it's not just about Thea and Nanda Parbat.
ReplyDeleteI think he'd do it by himself anyway even if it isn't in advance. Since the last time he went to Nanda Parbat he and Diggle were captured.
ReplyDeleteit's definitely not Caity but also not Katie
ReplyDeleteBut this cant be Laurel. Because this show Saras suit.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I call a Speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteThat is not Laurel's suit or wig.
ReplyDeleteHOT DAMN this looks amazing. Ra's has officially put his sword through both of the Queen siblings. They just can't catch a break. Looks like the Lazarus Pit will change Thea significantly. And I can't wait to find out who that mystery woman is. Sara?! Is that you??
ReplyDeleteLOL the pun!!!
ReplyDeleteMalcolm knows Thea. She's going to want to come back. Hello he trained her to be stronger/ better/ fearless, live!! She is HIS student, of course she's going to want to come back. ReplyDeleteI wish I could see it that way but I didn't.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, I think it's ridiculous that she's there. I'm also surprised that Malcolm is there, considering he set all these events into motion by killing Sara.
ReplyDeleteI doubt he'd mind Malcolm going. He's expendable and all this is his fault anyway.
ReplyDeleteMalcolm's presence is most likely explained either by guilt or some delusional and futile notion of redemption.
ReplyDeletekind of creepy, hope they don't turn her into some kind of wild beast.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Malcolm has a guilty bone in his body.
ReplyDelete---------------------------------Do you think there is any chance that Malcolm may end up becoming the Demons Head by seasons end ?
I just keep getting that vibe from this season.
I disagree it's his and Ra's fault.
ReplyDeleteHe seems genuinely remorseful now over the Undertaking and some guilt over what he did to Thea given his telling her to kill him in an attempt to help her heal. Despite all the horror Malcolm had caused there is some humanity in him.
ReplyDeleteOww, now I get why Malcolm didn't use the pit on Tommy. The pit might literally be a fate worse than death.
ReplyDeleteWe all know why she is there: so she and Ollie can fuck goodbye.
ReplyDeleteI don't really feel that from him tbh, he still feels like he has some sort of end game, so he is feigning remorse.
ReplyDeletePossible but he outright said that it was all for nothing and looked pretty f*cked up about it in 3x12.
ReplyDeleteSame reason why Digg is there. Moral support? Ra's intends his plan to work, so I doubt he'll be ordering his crew to kill any of Oliver's team members because Thea is enough to get Ra's what he wants. It's not about them screwing each other. ReplyDeleteI did.
ReplyDeleteLMAO ! Good One.
ReplyDeleteSeeing Laurel in this promo let me assume that they used the Pit on Sara. That would explain the darker tone of her character.
ReplyDeleteIf I haven't overlooked her, Laurel isn't in the promo.
ReplyDeleteThink she meant the BC walking. But it seems like that is a double in Sara's BC suit.
ReplyDeleteSeems like Laurel will have a minor role in this ep once again as she stays behind with Ray.

ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of S03 Laurel, especially since mid season. S02 she was poor but overall I rather enjoy her. But that is just me.
Thea is going to remember how she killed Sara.
ReplyDeleteI only wish Malcolm were this considerate when he drugged Thea to kill Sara.
ReplyDeleteoops, I just confused their names. Corrected it.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed S3 Laurel, too. She's more fun when she's not reduced to a love interest for Oliver. They had zero chemistry. These two characters work out better in a platonic way. So far I like what the writers did with her in S3.

Yeah, she knows she killed Sara, but she's going to remember what happened.
ReplyDeleteBut she is gonna have a flashback most likely.
ReplyDeleteoh shit, i stopped watching Arrow for a while now but this looks epic ... maybe i'll give it another shot
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that Lauliver won't happen anymore, 'cause the kind of relationship they have now is much more interesting. I like their friendship.
ReplyDeleteYepp, Laurel finally gets something decent to do. And I love her emerging friendship with Felicity. These two would make a great team on their own. (Birds of Prey) ;)
same thing with Batman. People that been revived be the Lazarus Pir never return as they were, just their body
ReplyDeleteYup....glad they had Thea jumping out of the pit like that. She will change as the pit changes people.Cant wait for the episode.
ReplyDeleteDon't you mean demon monkey?
ReplyDeleteany kind of monkey, howler, chimp, red ass baboon, whatever. its just so incredibly terrible.
ReplyDeleteIt may have been a dream
ReplyDeleteNever give up hope! I did one time and regretted it.
ReplyDeleteAs I said earlier, that only tracks if Oliver commits to the League beforehand. Otherwise, not so much.
ReplyDeleteSo it's traditional for new League members to say goodbye with their genitals? First the initiation ceremony, then the branding, then the goodbye screw? The League of Assassins is very odd. :P
ReplyDeleteIt all started with Malcolm. He's the root cause. Sure Ra's is a relentless, soul-crushing bastard but he's only involved because of Malcolm.
ReplyDeleteI think Malcolm feels guilt but all of his emotions are selfish ones. Everything is about him even when it clearly isn't.
ReplyDeleteInteresting idea about Malcolm. I don't know how the show would swing it but Malcolm being Demon's Head would be interesting. Although, I'm not sure there would be enough material for him to continue on as a regular next season if that's where they're going with this.

True, but he killed Thea and turned the city against Oliver. That's entirely on him.
ReplyDeleteI don't really get why you think it doesn't track if he doesn't commit to the league beforehand. Ra's is playing Oliver and I'm pretty sure Ra's knows that Oliver is going to cave because if Oliver was willing to die for Thea in 309 he'd be willing to become the next heir.
