Thank you @ColtonLHaynes for everything! You are truly a star and a gentleman. #Arrow

After taking the fall for Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), going to jail, and faking his death, Arrow bid adieu to Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) in the April 15 episode. The character left Starling City for parts unknown at the end of the installment and BuzzFeed News can confirm that along with Roy, Haynes has exited the show as a series regular.
While the news might come as a shock to fans, Arrow executive producers Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggeinheim tell BuzzFeed News in an exclusive interview that this was always the plan.
“When we made Colton’s deal, he was coming off of Teen Wolf where he was beloved, and he had a lot of opportunities,” Berlanti said during a recent phone interview. “So we did a trial thing where we said, for his sake and ours, ‘We’ll just do a bunch of episodes and see if you like it and if you enjoy it.’ And he did. Then pilot season came up that year and before another pilot could snatch him up, we made a two-year deal, so we always knew we were on a clock.”
While Roy’s exit isn’t a true death, it does serve as the catalyst for the kind of seismic shift Arrow has historically executed towards the end of a season. “It’s going to be really challenging for Team Arrow,” Guggeinheim said of the final Season 3 episodes. “First the loss of Roy and there is more stuff coming for the remaining threesome of Oliver, Diggle [David Ramsey], and Felicity [Emily Bett Rickards] that is not going to get neatly resolved by the end of the year. We shot a scene last night where Diggle [David Ramsey] talks about the hurt feelings and broken trust. That will resonate not only through the remaining episodes of the season, but into Season 4.”

Thanks to Mr. EDMODO for the heads up.
DEADLINE: When did you know that Colton Haynes was leaving after Season 3?
BERLANTI: When we made the deal. We made a two-season deal that had a clock on it, we always knew that. When he was coming off Teen Wolf, we described the role to him, and we agreed he would do it for a couple of years. At that particular moment, he had a lot of opportunities to do things, and we’re lucky he chose us. He brought a lot of nototriety and viewership to the show when we were growing, and the show wouldn’t be the show it is without him. He is such a talent and such a nice guy, everybody from crew to writers were so enthusiastic to have him for the time we had him. We are sad to see him go but excited to see what he does next.

I don't watch but damn, two seasons seems to be his limit on shows.
ReplyDeleteAnd now it's official.:(
ReplyDeleteI think Colton has commitment issues. lol
ReplyDeleteWell, this is a piece of crap. But they had to make room for Thea and Laurel, i suppose?
ReplyDeleteI like Roy more than them and he was more capable as a hero...
Eh. According to the deadline article this was the plan from the get-go so I'm not really mad about this.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree, if someone needs to exit from the show for me, it's Laurel.
ReplyDeleteSame. They managed to keep it under wraps surprisingly well. Until the cast posted about saying goodbyes on social media, I never ran across any hint of his leaving.
ReplyDeleteWas really hoping that his story would be developed first before he left but alas alak....
ReplyDeleteRoy barely last one season as a hero....
ReplyDeleteFarewell Roy Harper. You will be missed :(
ReplyDeletenot totally a surprise, but i will miss Colton on the show..he is also very close to Emily and Willa..i love their friendship! Anyways, good luck for him on his new projects!
ReplyDeleteYeah, they really did do a great job keeping mum on that. Everyone had a theory and very few people went with Haynes.
ReplyDeleteGood riddance,I couldn't stand Roy.
ReplyDeletewell original team arrow fan will happy....it back to Oliver, Felicity, Diggle and maybe Thea and Laurel
ReplyDeleteDamn, I'm really going to miss Colton/Roy. I really felt like Roy was an integral part of Team Arrow this season and it sucks that he's not coming back :( Goodbye Arsenal.
ReplyDeleteisn't there some BTS of Roy in a future episode or not
ReplyDeleteNot too surprised. Haynes hasn't been on set in weeks. I'm glad it wasn't a death, though. I liked him, but I never loved him, so while I'll miss Roy, I'm okay with this. Hopefully he'll pop up again at some point, since they decided not to actually kill him, and the show was getting a bit overstuffed with heroes in my opinion. Maybe with Ray/Roy gone next season, things will be a little more focused.
ReplyDeleteApparently they're taking the "focus on Diggle/Felicity/Oliver" stuff from the fans pretty seriously, since that's most of what I see these days in interviews. Not mad about it. Their partnership is one of my favorite things about the show, so even if it's for sad reasons, I'm glad it's going to be front and center again.
I read on TVLine that he's coming back for the season 3 finale so maybe it's from that?
ReplyDeleteI love the original team, but i find kinda lame that we lose the only costume hero that could do things and be realistic, after 1 year and a half of training with Oliver himself.
ReplyDeleteNow, if this was Colton's choice i will understand it. If this was the writers trying to make room for others, i will not. How is it that they can't write 4 characters on the field(Oliver, Digg, Roy and Laurel) and expect us to believe they will find a way to make the team up spin off work...
I'm sure Colton won't want to do another CW show now that he's done Arrow . .. but ... if he does I would love to see him on The Originals as a grown up Henrik Mikaelson or Mathias Jr.
ReplyDeleteBut you know, David Ramsey said a few days back that the core of the show was "Oliver, Digg and Felicity". But then what? Laurel will be a freelancer then? I'm fine with that, i like sassy Laurel appearing out of nowhere and fighting(like in 3x13). Especially if they don't cool down the fighting between them.
ReplyDeleteBut Laurel is a costume hero and she needs focus. This Season has been weird. They gave her the BC costume but she was missing for a couple of episodes and barely in some(like this one for example). I think i'm not crazy when i say that Ray, a guest star, had more screentime.
I'm cool with the Original Team, it's the reason i watch... But there are other characters too, and i'm scare they will make them aside.
Thea will be the new Roy now, i think... so she is in... wich leaves Laurel, again, on the side...
I hope Laurel's more on her own and a part-timer. Thea though full member.
ReplyDeleteI don't know.....keeping the original team arrow is great but you got to expand to fight crime again....
ReplyDeleteNO don't do this to me!
ReplyDeleteYou want to give me a heart attack?
Colton seems to only join shows for two years. It shows he won't stay in something too long.
ReplyDeleteGonna miss the red costume (and Roy)
ReplyDeleteDid you drop it or never watched from the start.
ReplyDeleteIs it too much to hope for that he might make another appearance towards the end of Teen Wolf Season 5A / Early 5B ?
ReplyDeleteI don't want Laurel to go, just for the writers to be good at writing more of 3 characters at once.
ReplyDeleteShe's too much like Oliver. They don't seem to ease on the cat fight between her and Oliver, so she on her own helping would be better. I really don't know how she puts up with him being a dick.
ReplyDeleteYep, i agree... now if the writers could manage a way to make everyone important. For them is: Today is Diggle and Roy, so Laurel doesn't do anything. Now it's Roy and Laurel, so Digg is out.
ReplyDeleteCan we please see everyone? Remember next Season will be Oliver, Digg, Thea and Laurel. They just need to put 3 or 4 more extras... Is that too much?
Never watched from the start.
ReplyDeleteWhat if he joins Teen Titans? That would be awesome and it will make sense!
ReplyDeleteI had seen some rumors that he might be leaving the show soon and so I really thought he had died and was surprised he didn't die (it was a fake out) and they killed off Thea instead.
ReplyDeleteWelll Diggle role will be big for season 4 and Laurel getting the Canary Cry device/choker and better fighter would be good....by season 4 premiere.
ReplyDeleteThere is absolutely no way that Oliver would allow Thea to fight crime alongside him.....
Agreed. But it's only a cat fight if it involves two women.
ReplyDeletelol
ReplyDeleteSoooo .... this won't/would be be a good thing ?
Thea isn't dead lol she's gonna go into the lazarus pit and she'll eventually become speedy. thats why she tweeted shes getting a fitting for a mask
ReplyDeleteI have really come to love Roy, so this sucks. I'm happy that they didn't kill him off -- that really would have sent Oliver spiraling. Also, I feel like Colton did some of his best work tonight.
ReplyDeleteMac doesn't like it.
ReplyDeletenoooooooooo the only chapter besides Laurel That I liked
ReplyDeleteDon't Judge Just accept my opinion
lol
ReplyDeleteI knew that already. Was just seeing what Mac's reaction would be.
And felicity sometimes
ReplyDeleteTaking about team dinamics: They said that there were gonan be more scenes between Thea and felicity and so far i dont remember any. Where are they?
ReplyDeleteColton was great i hope to see hima s a regular in the new TV Show, he deserves it tbh.
Will Oliver get a new sidekick?: With everything taht si out we knwo it's gonan be Thea. Cool Stuff.
Now with teh finale and teh name of it. I can see some sort of Fight between ra's and Oliver again tis time Oliver ebing teh winner and giving the job ot the Head Demon to Nyssa and he will live by his name Oliver Queen.
Seriously dude... Spoiler alert ...some people didn't watch the episode yet
ReplyDeletemore Marvel?
ReplyDeleteYOU SONS OF BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why give us 3 years of this amazing character when you were just planning to kick him out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you just called him the next generation of Superhero. I WILL NEVER EVER FORGIVE FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you also gave us a great relationship between Roy and Thea and you don't even have the decency to give them a final goodbye?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteit wasn't him, it was the creators!
ReplyDeleteSweet. And as long as he never returns to Teen Wolf I'll be even more happy.
ReplyDeleteyeah i guess people were right: you can't have 2 Speedys even if Roy was code-named "Arsenal"
ReplyDeleteThis show has become a constant disappointment.
ReplyDeletemaybe Colton wants to leave for other project.......and he the only regular without a single flashback
ReplyDeleteAnd Roy haha
ReplyDeleteWhy do they have to ruin Oliver and Diggle's relationship? :( Why mess with my favourite brothers?
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to have my TA back though.
Wait, male cats have another name? I have a female cat and a male cat, they're both a**holes LOL
ReplyDeleteI have yet to watch the episode and this title was a huge spoiler :/
ReplyDeletePLEASE RETURN TO TEEN WOLF! IT'S SENIOR YEAR!
ReplyDeleteHey, wasn't he supposed to become Arsenal? I'd never thought he'll leave like this. Intrigued to see what the writers will do with these final 4 episodes.
ReplyDeleteI liked Roy but I'm kind of happy for Colton because I feel like his role has been too diminished this season. He started with a lot of focus and now, acting wise, he has not many challenging things to do.
In the highly unlikely case he returns to Teen Wolf (again, I know it's unlikely) I'd be very interested in seeing what they do with his character. Really miss him on this show, along with Crystal and Daniel.
Before they started posting goodbyes everybody thought once he became Arsenal he was there to stay. I know I never think characters I don't like are actually going to leave. But maybe that's why I always felt like he was an afterthought--they consciously or unconsciously never really integrated him.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'd loved it to have him on the show during 5B, specially with all the departures the shows has had. Jeff Davis said Lydia will end up the season with one of the most unlikely characters ever, so I'm starting to give myself false hope and hoping he was talking about Jackson.
ReplyDeleteSame here :( haha
ReplyDeleteMaybe all those times Oliver left Roy behind in the field were an inside joke. :)
ReplyDeleteThat was the deal with Colton.
ReplyDeleteThen shouldn't you not be on a website called SpoilerTV?
ReplyDeleteWTF!!! CAN'T ANYBODY STAY ON TIL THE END OF THE SEASON?!?! What is going on here??!!! Why are all my characters leaving as series regulars??? Ughh!! I mean after tonight's episode, I just figured it was part of the season and he'd return in season 4, somehow someway, I didn't think they were actually getting rid of him!! This is bullshit!!
ReplyDeleteAnd what do you mean tough on Team Arrow??? Noooo. They kicked ass tonight!! Roy leaves you have to stick together! Ohhh nooo, oh nooo, ohhh Diggle iI hope this doesn't mean you're telling Oliver you're resigning for good this time?? You can't do this now, he needs you!! Especially now. I'm scared for these final episodes.
If they knew he was leaving why they develop Roy so much? Roy finally became Arsenal and he leave? No, Colton was pretty unhappy during paleyfest, there's more to this story.
ReplyDeleteI just hope they put him in the spin off or something, Marc said he was leaving Arrow, not Roy.
Episode was awesome!
ReplyDeleteFinally....http://i.giphy.com/13ZPuK9cmWembe.gif
ReplyDeleteHe was Arsenal. For all of season three.
ReplyDeleteLol. Yeah my cats aren't always the best.
ReplyDeleteWow look at you trying to be smart !! Spoilertv or not .. Its a big deal since some people didnt watch it yet and waiting for the episode to air . and i come to this website not juste for arrow. And shut up no one is talking to you
ReplyDeleteFarewell Roy Harper. Colton you gave the character the best exit. You acted really well this episode. You will be missed.
ReplyDeleteNooo, I like Roy at least he brought something to the show - love interest to Thea, funny lines an being actual help to Oliver and Diggle. If only they would get rid of Laurel - her character is so poorly writen it hurts and annoys every time I see her on the screen. I love Katie Cassidy but not as Laurel!!!!
ReplyDeleteLoved Colton's performance tonight. Hope to see him again next season for sure. Now all of Roy's own carelessness and reckless behavior even as Arsenal makes complete sense.
ReplyDeleteHe became a hero in the S1 finale when he saved those people trapped in the bus. An ongoing theme Arrow has had is that the suit doesn't make the hero and it works true for Roy.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say it was the creators as much as it was a mutual thing. They said that Colton had other offers on the table too, so it was just luck that he stuck around for a two season arc.
ReplyDeleteSucks, he will be missed, they better bring him around and like have him do his thing in some other city while hearing about it from others.
ReplyDeletebtw whatever happened to the downvotes? ppl got to offended?
I'm so glad they didn't kill him. I love Roy n Colton so if he had to leave I'll take this type of exit any day. Roy will be missed but I have faith that I will see Colton on-screen again real soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm not too surprised about this move. Season 3 has proven that Arrow writers/producers have NO IDEA what to do with their characters. They start off the season "killing" fan fav Caity Lotz/Sara--only to apparently bring her "back" sometime before the end of the year. Now, they've finally realized that they haven't found any useful role for Roy/Colton...so they've shown him the door. But, again showing their indecisiveness, they left the door open for him to come back.
ReplyDeleteSo, who's "died" on this show? Ollie, of course. Sara, two or three times. Malcolm was presumed dead. Shado "is" dead--but has a twin sister that can be brought back. So, Roy not being dead--but still "gone"-- makes sense in ArrowWorld.
It's time to bring on a new crew of Writers, who can block-out a season of logical, meaningful storylines for a FEW characters--and stop trying to introduce any/every character from the comics...only to do nothing with them.
So, long Roy/Colton: you deserved better.
I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteIMO it's been a HUGE disappointment this season. Season 1 was good, and S2 was excellent. They somehow lost their way in S3. Maybe spreading themselves too thin with Flash...and the development of Supergirl (Greg) and the Spin-off.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but there's just not enough writing talent in this production company to carry off creating so many shows--and maintaining any kind of quality.
Excellent point! Roy had the coolest looking costume. It's a shame to waste it--but, of course, you could say the same about Roy's character development. Or, lack thereof.
ReplyDeleteF*CK!!!!!! Thx for spoiling me without having watched the episode
ReplyDeleteI find it difficult to believe they had locked Colton for only two years. IIRC Colton had given an interview during the hiatus between season 1 and 2 along with Emily Bett that he was signed for 6 seasons and he joked that right now he had the longest contract and he will be there even if Oliver Queen is not there. He must have said that just for laughs.
ReplyDeleteSomething just feels so off about this. Why spend time filming for that fight club commercial that airs days before this episode if you're leaving? Maybe I'm just stuck in hopeful denial. I like my Arrow family.
ReplyDeleteWell like at you. Being insulting for no reason. I'm glad you were spoiled now.
ReplyDeleteThat commercial was done long before for the TCA panel where all the costumed characters of both shows along with Diggle attended. They just released it for general public last day.
ReplyDeleteYes, I remember reading that interview too. I'd forgotten about it. Seems "strange" now.
ReplyDeleteAh thanks I didn't know that. Seems Roy really is gone then. I'm just gonna live inside my denial bubble that he's coming back till life forces me out of it.
ReplyDeleteNick, it really does sound from the full BuzzFeed article like it was more Colton wanting to leave and the writers/showrunners accommodating his wish to go. THAT BEING SAID...I see (and agree with) your point on the writers not being able to write 4 (or more) characters on the field. While it genuinely does feel like this was all Colton wanting to leave, this still leaves the fact that the team will clearly be joined by a masked Thea (it all points that way anyway) and Laurel is already sort of a part of it. So where will that leave Digg? Sidelined AGAIN? I'll be watching the spin-off because I'm curious and the concept sounds pretty cool....but this season hasn't set a good precedent of a good working, on-the-field, team dynamic and that somewhat dampers whatever excitement I may have on the upcoming series.
ReplyDeleteI'm really sorry about that but all the other sites have also posted similar articles with the same / similar title. I'm sorry about this though.

He was never my favorite character but this was a great episode for Roy, so it's fitting that this is his sendoff. I didn't realize this was the end for him though. I figured maybe they were going to send him onto a spin-off with another or new character.
ReplyDeleteI am just glad they didn't kill him off for shock value. Thank goodness for that. This way he can recur once in a while.
ReplyDeleteIt was a video interview iirc. Both those dorks were sitting around joking about being regulars. I am going to miss their BTS photos.
ReplyDeleteBut that's sort of my point in my first paragraph. Too many characters means not enough time focusing on each one of them. The trio may be at the center, but without Ray and Roy, that's still more screen time available to create a solid story for Laurel or Thea. Instead of telling several, spread-out hero stories, where it's hard to focus in on the arc of one of them. I want the main focus on the trio, for some majority of the season, but I also want the other hero characters, which apparently will be Laurel and Thea now, to be able to have strong arcs of their own, like Sara and Roy did in season two. By having the main trio and then four heroes/potential heroes, the no one got sufficient attention. Drop two of those heroes, and the remainder might actually get some breathing room to have well developed arcs; and they don't have to be aside, but maybe parallel. Involved, but separate and individual at the same time - again, like Sara and Roy in the second season. At least, that's my hope.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Who knows, he could turn out to be that floating character on the three shows they talked about.
ReplyDeleteGuess we're talking about two different interviews then. I read one where Colton referred to a long contract. Will try to find it.
ReplyDeleteWith the way those interviews sounded I doubt it. If that was the case there would not this kind of finality to their words. They are letting Colton go which is a shame. I have a feeling the floater could be Lyla/Harbinger or Tatsu/Katana. Both kick ass females who can work on all three shows. Then again Tatsu/Rila Fukushima has got a pilot.
ReplyDeleteThe amount of screen time Tatsu has gotten this season has bothered me. She's a superhero in her own right and I would of figured she would show up more in the present day then she did. Four episodes left though so I shouldn't complain till I've seen it all.
ReplyDeleteLyla I would like if she was made head of Argus. The lack of Argus in Central City seems odd to me. They don't seem the sort to leave dangerously powered people running around unchecked. They could be the sort of agency like shield that would tie all three together.
I am so disappointed with the way they are treating Tatsu. Katana is one badass comic character. And Rila Fukushima can do so much more. They are simply under using her just like Summer Glau last season. They have so much talent on this show yet they refuse to write for them.
ReplyDeleteIf they kill Waller by the end of this season since DC has issues with SS characters from movie being used on the show, I can see Lyla being ARGUS head. She already knows Barry. That way she can be a part of all three shows and she won't be missed on Arrow.
When Tatsu popped back up in the present day, I was crushed that they just let her fade away instead of bringing her back to Starling with Oliver. I wanted her to be one of Laurel's trainers but oh well. Think of all the Sarab/Maseo and Tatsu present day interactions we could of had. Alas.
ReplyDeleteI really don't want them to kill Waller. I don't hold strong attachements to her but I don't want to see another character killed off that could be great if they just tried. Her story with Oliver feels incomplete still. I hope if they are killing her off that feeling with have changed by the end of the season's Hong Kong flashbacks.
He will be missed to a certain capacity. Looking forward to see what he'll do next.
ReplyDeleteWaller could go mia like Nick Fury for one year until the SS movie relaeases. Then in season 5 she can return. I have a feeling she has a hand in Oliver returning to Starling.
ReplyDeleteKatana training Laurel would have been really great. They really did a bad job with flashbacks this season.
I knew this and I hate this. Roy was my favourite character in Arrow. I guess now Felicity will be...
ReplyDeleteI suspected he was leaving when he showed up on the Teen Wolf set again. It's sad he's leaving the show. I feel like Roy didn't get to live up to his full potential. He could have done alot more.
ReplyDeleteSame here! I try to avoid reading spoilers but I saw this on Twitter so I couldn't avoid it.
ReplyDeleteSame here!
ReplyDeleteSome of these sites had [SPOILER] instead of Colton's name. I haven't seen the episode yet either but I have been spoiled on Arrow before (e.g. Moira's death) so I don't really mind.
ReplyDeleteWonder what he'll do next. :( And if Thea finds a new love... who?
ReplyDeleteColton decided to leave.
ReplyDeleteYour right sorry again, I jsut went off the Buzzfeed article since it was their exclusive.
ReplyDeleteMy wish has been fulfilled, thanks for making this happen Arrow creatives!
ReplyDeleteYou can't be serious ! The website is literally called spoilerTV , coming here when you have not watched the episode is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteThey could've left the name out, simple as that.
ReplyDeleteThey could've watched the episode before logging onto a website called spoilertv, simple as that.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately one of the things of being human is that we all make mistakes. It was a simple error as the same title had been posted on several sites much larger and with much more reach than ours and our editor simply used the same title.
ReplyDeleteIt's okay.You're forgiven!LOL!Carry on the good work.
ReplyDeleteWhen did he show up on the teen wolf set? For season 5?
ReplyDeleteIt's fine, the nature of this website is to provide us with up to date information on our favourite Tv shows.
ReplyDeleteLol why do you hate him so much? I secretly wanted him gone but for shipper reasons.
ReplyDeleteHe was a horrible character with no purpose and even more awful actor.I hated him in Teen wolf too.Good riddance,i'm celebrating right now!
ReplyDeleteThe same. He wasn't my favorite character but he'll be missed a little nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I thought Roy was okay but I was never much of a fan of this character, so if anyone had to go, I'm glad it was him and not a character I love more such as Diggle.
ReplyDeleteAlso, it doesn't sound like he's fully leaving. According to TVLine he's coming back to the final and it sounds like they are in talks to have him recurring in the new spin-off.
The creators have confirmed he's good for good.
ReplyDeleteOh okay lol.
ReplyDeleteI kind of figured that would happen, but I thought Roy was actually dead and that's how he was going to be off the show.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like it was either him or slightly mutual.
ReplyDeleteIt was the plan all along. Greatly because of Colton. It's not just to make room.
ReplyDeleteI'm just really surprised because it's Roy Harper. That'd be like Wally West (when he's introduced) leaving the Flash after a year or two. Just really really surprising.
ReplyDeleteNever mind, it wasn't your fault. I shouldn't have gone on Twitter even though I knew it was a big Arrow episode. I was bound to get spoiled lol.
ReplyDeleteHe's been a hero since that day he saved Thea from those thugs.
ReplyDeleteMan went out well. Hope he's some where, he's needed as a hero.
ReplyDeleteHe developed massively. He went from a misguided angry thriving kid whose reckless as hell to a well-intentioned hero who was selfless and cared only about doing what's best for others and atoning for the past. Becoming careful and surprisingly skilled in his planning. Roy really went through a lot.
ReplyDeleteOur wish!
ReplyDeleteColton Haynes was the reason why I've started watching Arrow. I just want to crawl under the rock an cry ;(
ReplyDeletetoo late for the *******. lol
ReplyDeleteactually prison scene with thea was the best scene i have seen him doing good in both teen wolf and arrow.maybe he is getting good.
ReplyDeleteI'll give u that one.That scene was nice,i agree.Sad & tragic.
ReplyDeletehe becomes a rescue chopper pilot and saves los angeles along with dwayne jhonson in san andreas.
ReplyDeleteOr he gets in a car accident on the way & dies tragically.
ReplyDeletelol.u really hate him ,dont u?
ReplyDeleteya,i do.LOL!
ReplyDeletewell I did like him but he had the most awesome costume.... so I am going to miss that one.
ReplyDeleteI love Arrow and AoS both but they are very different shows. Binged watched S1, that was more fun but now I am hooked I watch it weekly. If you don't mind a bit more broody tone you should give it a try sometime if you have time (I assume you have a huge list as we all have on this site).
ReplyDeleteNo they didn't.
ReplyDeletehttp://tvline.com/2015/04/15/arrow-colton-haynes-exit-roy-leaves-season-3/
Yep, and it also still says his name in the headline in the "Trending Today" section at the side of the page.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I like to gawk at Colton's pretty face in quite glad they've made such a dynamic shift in the cast. Roy was an integral part of the core team and it's interesting to see the creators shake that up and how the team changes.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good farewell!
ReplyDeleteI think it's weird too, specially if he comes back to Teen Wolf.
ReplyDeleteIs he going back to Teen Wolf? Ugh. That feels like a demotion for him. I don't think Titan has anything to do with this unless they plan to use Colton there as Roy Harper. They have other important characters listed there. And Roy Harper primarily belongs with Green Arrow. So Arrow should get priority on that character.
ReplyDeleteApparently the show runner for TW did an interview a while ago saying that two beloved characters will return to season 5. They asked Colton if it's him and he answered "we'll see".
ReplyDeleteI agree about feeling like a demotion. And honestly, even if it's not a Titan thing I can't shake the feeling that DC has something to do with it.
So Colton Haynes and Daniel Sharman are the two guys who are going back I guess. Both after a stint on CW.
ReplyDeleteIf DC is the reason behind this then I can't see these shows maintaining the quality they had these past seasons with all the new restrictions. Honestly dropping one or two regulars is good for Arrow even though sad. It is very over crowded here.
http://moviepilot.com/posts/2015/04/13/which-teen-wolf-character-is-coming-back-for-season-5-2855268?lt_source=external,manual
ReplyDeleteHere's the link.
I agree, the foundry was crowded. I think next season Laurel will be at another level after training with Nyssa and she'll be on her own. Then Oliver will only have Thea as a sidekick.
So many wolves. I don't follow Teen Wolf. I tried but never got into it.
ReplyDeleteIMO Laurel will be awesome if she gets separate missions. Then every other episode Team Arrow helps her out and she helps them in the legal system and as extra muscle. Oliver will have Diggle too. If they keep Diggle in the lair with his folded hands staring at the monitor one more year I will spam Guggenheim.
Nooo no no no no no... I felt this would come... but nooo... I really like Colton as a person and as an actor and I really hope he will manage to get a main role somewhere or returns to the Arrow universe... Or well he could come back from the UK in Teen Wolf lol.
ReplyDeleteFeeling as sad as when The Tomorrow People got canceled, and that was really sad.
It really was.
ReplyDeleteI know but the way you wrote it was funny like "I'll miss the suit" "what about Roy?" "oh yeah him too" lol
ReplyDeleteVery well. It was a heroic send off. I hope so too.
ReplyDelete100th Comment.
ReplyDeleteSame here. I had already heard someone was leaving, but I hadn't seen the latest episode yet :(
ReplyDeleteThis news doesn't bother me at all. I didn't hate him, he just did nothing for me. I'd rather the time spent on him had been spent on showing more of Diggle's role on the team.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't that big a fan of his (he's a decent actor and very, very handsome) or his character, but I'm still going to miss having him on the show.
ReplyDeleteSo they couldn't stick with this decision too,no shocker here!
ReplyDeleteI can't say I didn't see this coming, though honestly I thought he was going to exit via death, so I am relieved that the outcome was different. However, it seemed like Roy was getting less and less screen time and plot progression as season 3 progressed. I really hate seeing him leave because I enjoyed his character. I am excited at the possibility of him receiving guest appearances on any of the shows. Hopefully he will pop up quite a bit... I can be hopeful, right? I'm excited to see what the fourth season brings. Especially with the H.I.V.E storyline. And hopefully, definitely, a lot more of John Diggle. And I would love to see more of Maseo. I can dream, right? I don't know why I love that character so much. And I gobble up every moment of screen time between Maseo and Oliver.
ReplyDeleteI refuse to go on Twitter (except my profile if I have to send out a tweet for some reason) but the site is the first thing I look at when I wake up. I definitely bring it on myself lol
ReplyDeleteGiven that for some shows I can't watch episodes immediately the next day and I don't want to miss some big news being tweeted out, I go on Twitter anyway. I usually manage not to get spoiled but there are some exceptions. Also, I don't follow a lot of actors or producers so that lowers the risk of being spoiled.
ReplyDeleteI'm at the point now where I have only 4 shows that I need to watch as soon as possible because I'm afraid of spoilers (POI, SHIELD, Flash, Arrow - 3 of them on a Tuesday). The rest of my shows I'm not too bothered about, so I go on Twitter and anywhere else.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I heard, he was on the set twice for this new season. I don't know if we'll get some Jackson scenes, but he was there while they were filming.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't have a lot of shows that I am afraid to be spoiled about either. Arrow and The 100 are my biggest concerns for staying spoiler-free. There are some other shows I prefer not to get spoiled on, but I don't mind if I accidentally read one (except for premieres and finales). Of course, I'm also behind on various shows so it's hard to stay spoiler-free on them.
ReplyDeleteI understand your comment but I also thought Roy was suppose to develop into an important member of Team Arrow. Which, I believe, he never did because the writers were so busy "introducing" then dropping numerous characters from the DC universe. It's as if they were "sampling" to see which characters would catch on. Which resulted in no deep character development for anyone--including Oliver it this season. Finally, I do not blame Colton if he's the one who decided to leave--it can't be fun sitting around all day doing nothing...no matter how well you're paid.
ReplyDeleteYes, but Roy never officially got this name right?
ReplyDeleteI think it's bc he failed to file his taxes last night and decided to run from IRS o_O lol.
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty sad he was beginning to be my favorite. He was badass and I really liked his suit, weapons and fighting style. That priosn fight was awesome. He had a nice and interesting leave
ReplyDeleteHis costume and weapons were the best. Loved his fight sequences too
ReplyDeleteThat would be great. Thought about that as soon as the show was announced
ReplyDeleteNo he was called that in this episode. And given it in 3x05, hell he was called Arsenal in 3x07. And that's just off the top of my head.
ReplyDeleteTbh, arrow is my least favorite character which is sad considering he's the main character
ReplyDeleteOhm ok thanks. I haven't put too much focus on this seasons as in the previous ones.
ReplyDeleteStupid. Why hire him in the first place if you only have two years to work with? It's not like Colton is a great actor or anything. Get someone else.
ReplyDeleteOh well, I never liked Roy anyway.
