Thanks to Randolph for the heads up.
Rites of spring nowadays: Chirping birds, sunny weather and a Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. crossover with a blockbuster superhero movie.
The ABC show sent its characters on a roller coaster of betrayal and intrigue last year when Captain America: The Winter Soldier dismantled the title secret organization of S.H.I.E.L.D., though the latest scenario won't be a "nuclear" option, says executive producer Jeff Bell.
The next two episodes, beginning Tuesday (9 ET/PT), will have Easter eggs, plot threads and other connective tissue leading into the opening scene of Avengers: Age of Ultron, in theaters May 1.
Ultron co-star Cobie Smulders reprises her role as former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill on the series, and the May 5 episode will bring the Avengers aftermath back to the small screen "for the five people who don't see the movie that week," says Bell.
He jokes that S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't getting destroyed again — and neither is the rival faction "Real S.H.I.E.L.D." — but various subplots will converge. Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), who was introduced in the movies but is now on the run from Real S.H.I.E.L.D. with his posse, makes a move toward an uneasy alliance with Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), a member his team who was revealed as an enemy Hydra agent during the Winter Soldier crossover.
"We've been planning all season how can we get Ward back into the mix where we need him in a way where he has to say yes and we have to have him, and yet neither side can fully trust each other," says Bell.

But we will never see any Avengers on SHIELD :(
ReplyDeleteDarn! Age of Ultron will open tomorrow (22nd of April) in The Netherlands, so I'll can't watch it in chronologically. #firstworldproblems
ReplyDeleteWhoa, I love this so much! And it's telling me that Coulson let Ward escape, which I called months ago.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, exactly! I'm in the Netherlands too, seeing AoU this week, it'll be a funny experience. On the other hand, AoU opens i.e. in Poland on May 7th, way after all the tie-in episodes.
ReplyDeleteI hope that Ward continues to be a wild card operating on his own, though, I'd hate to have him back on the team. Keep him as the bad guy on the fringes. Also, it'll be a funny experience, to watch Age of Ultron first and then all the AoS episodes.
ReplyDeletenot bad guy, neutral guy
ReplyDeletei'm confused about what he said about Ward getting contact in Hydra, what does that mean because Ward wasn't and NEVER will be Hydra. Also Kara is SHORT! LOL i never realized even with Brett Dalton who's a giant and now J.August Richards, she looks like an ant compared to those 2 LOL
ReplyDeleteI think that means when he infiltrated Hydra all those months ago.
ReplyDeletedon't lose hope, they might surprise the heck out of us, like with the first Fury cameo, we didn't know he was appearing the first time unlike the second time
ReplyDeleteoh ok i really hope so, i just saw Kara on Castle and i kept calling her 33 or Kara LOL
ReplyDeleteThis was what put me off AOS last year as I do not watch the superhero movies, mainly because with three kids and full time work I cannot get to the cinema even if I wanted to. I hope that it will be easy to pick up what is happpening if you do not see the movie.
ReplyDeletethey DID say it won't be as "nuclear" so maybe it'll be not as small as the Thor tie-in in season 1 but also not as big as Winter Soldier
ReplyDeleteit's great to know that the tie-ins will be in the upcoming episodes, but i'm trying to think they could be tying in: Ultron or Strucker? so all this time they've been planning for Ward to be with our team, AWESOME!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think Mike will be controlled by Ultron D:
ReplyDeleteAlso, with the news of the Huntingbird spin-off, that means that next season will be all about the OT6 again! I'll miss Bobbi and Lance, but hey, they'll have their own show so it all works out.
ReplyDelete"What we can do in TV really well is make you care about people and invest in them deeply, and then rip your guts out." > I don't like the sound of that. Makes my guts cringe preemptively.
ReplyDeleteI don't think any future tie-in will be as big as the CA:TWS one. It transformed the whole DNA of the show.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid Lincoln might become a permanent part of the show. I just want the original gang back.
ReplyDeleteNah, Lincoln's only going to stick around until the end of the season so I don't think we have to worry about that. He's either going to die or be evil (maybe both).
ReplyDeleteAge of Ultrons airs this Wednesday in the Philippines once cinemas open at 10 in the morning (Tuesday evening in the US), just right after a new Shield episode airs stateside.
ReplyDeleteI think he's talking about how he and the writers wanted to use Ward, not that Coulson was in cahoots with ward this whole time.
ReplyDeleteDo you know for certain or is this speculation?
ReplyDeleteFor me, AoS airs three days after the US so it's almost in sync but I'm watching AoU on Thursday, so I will be out of since with the tie in episodes.
ReplyDeleteNeutral guys tend not to kill USAF personnel, accept the character for what he is, not what you want him to be.
ReplyDeleteJust watch on the net on Wednesday, that's what I do.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me or is the bit telling us it's going to tie in to the movies a bit redundant? It's the same universe, of course you are going to have to deal with the fallout of the giant robot army.
ReplyDeleteOh for god sake the airbrushing is getting rediculous, HE WORKED FOR HYDRA. Stop rewriting the show to fit your perception of the character. That's like saying Skye wasn't in Shield until she got her badge as she was only "consulting"
ReplyDeleteYeah for Agents of Shield, Shield falling was always going to alter the fundementals of the show. This I think is just going to alter the world more than the team (I'm leaning towards the world reacting to Gifted after seeing the Twins)
ReplyDeleteI really hope he stays a wildcard playing his game, if he's back on the team then I'm going to be disapointed in the writers.
ReplyDeleteBandwidth in SA sucks, trying to watch anything off the internet would burn a whole in my pocket. I still end up waiting a day after it aired anyway. I don't really mind waiting the 2 and a half days to watch it live on my tv.
ReplyDeleteAh I feel for you then, I only have to wait until the Sunday after it airs but I just can't help myself and watch it on the net first and then on the TV. I'm still surprised that the ROI broadcaster got it so quickly.
ReplyDeleteLet's settle for inconvenient to avoid any arguments. Truth is, though, that I've enjoyed Ward much more when he was occupying the villain role and I'd love it if he stayed there.
ReplyDeleteAgree totally, as I've said in one of the other threads, Ward as a character stopped being a bland background right after he shot Hand. Since then his actions and the fallout from them have been far more important than "Agent Grant Ward"
ReplyDeleteWhy be afraid, I think it would be extremely good for Skye to have another Inhuman around, otherwise she's still going to have so much unknowns to deal with (and potentially get herself into trouble with the other Inhumans unknowingly.
ReplyDeleteIt's the only MCU tv show with strong tie ins to the movies. It's already expected what happens on earth with either Cap or the Avengers ties heavily with AoS because, hello, SHIELD! it may no longer be as devastating as TWS but it will always be something. And now that AoS is setting up ground work for future projects, they no longer need to keep saying it over and over and over but they do anyway. Those that watch the show will know without all the media fan fare but I see why it's done, it's all part of the marketing machine for MCU. And that's what AoS does at the end of the day, sell MCU products where it's feasible.
ReplyDeleteYes because every male that isn't Ward must be removed, hopefully in a manor that hurts Skye...
ReplyDeletei am so freaking excited *hyperventilates*
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful my broadcaster got it this early too. Especially with so many people on the internet going on and on about ratings as if that is a true judge of how well received the show is. It's a fantastic show and US ratings aren't a true reflection of how loved it is in the rest of the world.
ReplyDeleteSpeculation but it seems likely
ReplyDeleteAll the Inhumans are shady and I don't trust Cal and Jiaying. Pretty sure they're going to be dead and/or evil by the end of the season too.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY hate how the figures from the rest of the world gets ignored, ideally I'd put it in with the Plus 7 day figure, wonder how shows would fair then...
ReplyDeleteHer mother is busy running Afterlife. Gordon is their only way in and out of Afterlife. Her father is crazy. There's no one else except Lincoln that's inhuman who is an ally and can help her grow. Lincoln isn't wet behind the ears that he can't help her with her gift and he, doesn't seem stuck in Afterlife. He said something about how he's there usually when he's needed. He's perfect for a character that will help Skye stay connected to her roots while she goes back to SHIELD. I don't see him dying or turning evil like Ward.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking the same thing.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely disagree with this, not all inhumans are shady. You are villainising an entire culture/population based on your feelings, not what's playing out on screen and from the comics we know inhumans are also heroes with some bad guys just like the humans.
ReplyDeleteCal is crazy but he isn't inhuman.
Jiaying has the weight of being a leader on her shoulder and she's trying to balance that, with being a mother under precarious conditions due to consequences of Afterlife finding out she's Skye's mother as we saw in "Melinda". She's never going to be forthright because it may endanger Skye from the more zealous of her people.
Your speculation isn't fact.
I really hope not.
ReplyDeleteWell, for one, I don't like the actor.
ReplyDeleteIt also bugs me that they keep adding new characters instead of focusing on the original group. It's bad enough that Skye is getting the vast majority of screentime(again) but now her story is adding in even more characters to distract from the ensemble.
I don't mind Skye as much as some people, and I really like Chloe Bennett, but it is starting to feel more and more like The Skye Show feat. The Agents of SHIELD.
I get that the Inhumans are a big part of the show now, and the MCU, but that doesn't mean the rest of the original cast should get the "scraps".
All the Inhumans we've seen so far seem to be shady (should have clarified that so my fault. Sorry). I hope there are non-shady ones out there but I don't trust Jiaying, Lincoln, and Gordon at all (nor do I trust Cal).
ReplyDeleteI like how Jiaying said no one could know Skye was her daughter and then oops, she left the door wide open so everyone could see their dinner. And I'm 98% sure she went on the murder spree with Cal to get Skye back . Jiaying also kinda pressured Skye into giving Cal a chance when she doesn't owe him shit.
And if they truly loved her, Cal and Jiaying wouldn't make Skye choose between them and SHIELD (via the press release for 2.20).
Of course my speculation isn't fact but I'm not the only thinking something's up with Afterlife.
Inhumans have spent their entire time hiding from the World, Skye was always going to have to face the choice. As for the dinner, there was nothing to show Lincoln that she was related, as much as he knows she was just their playing peacekeeper (note how Raina only talked about Cal, not mentioning the relationship between Jiaying and Skye (most likely as she doesn't know either). I don't see the shadiness of Lincoln at all, at best the only thing you can fault him for is not telling Skye about Raina which makes sense as the Inhumans see her pre Mist actions as different to post Mist actions.
ReplyDeleteIf it is then Skye's entire Story arc is just the writers dumping on the character. What you want means her life long search yields her nothing but pain and loss. Love how Ward gets a free pass but no Jiaying is EVIL without question.
ReplyDeleteWard doesn't get a free pass - the redemption arc is going to be long and painful and I need him to apologize to the team (and Koenigs) because he needs to work for forgiveness. Redemption isn't supposed to be easy, and I'm looking forward to the angst.
ReplyDeleteAnd something seems off about Afterlife so I'm waiting patiently for that reveal.
If the worst happens, Skye will still have her SHIELD family by her side because they love her.
I'm watching AOU tomorrow!!!
ReplyDeleteHere's another Dutchie.. I'm gonna watch it TONIGHT!
ReplyDeleteThere is a great clip for tonight's show at this link.
ReplyDeleteAren't you lucky however, you are going to miss the build up on AOS
ReplyDeleteNah.. This movie will be the best thing of the year. I'm so happy to see tomorrow already!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think the inhumans are going anywhere. They just introduced them and the movie still far away. One of the reason they are doing the spinoff is probably to clean up the main cast a little, too many people and little screentime this season but i expect more inhumans will show up and get involved. As long any of them die Lincoln, Gordon, Raina, Jiaying should be around for season 3.
ReplyDeleteThey just scratch the surface with the inhuman storyline, there is so much potential with them. I don't get why some people get upset about them especially Lincoln. Is because of a potential love storyline with Skye? We still haven't seen anything indicating they will get involved like that. He is being nice and Skye need friends who can fully understand what she is going through and this show never invested too much on romance anyway.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I rather miss the build up on AoS than risking spoiling myself in any way for AoU...(I'll watch in four days)
ReplyDeleteStrangely they claimed in earlier interviews that the influence of AoU would be minimal. If they now decided to add a stronger tie-in after all, it is certainly worth mentioning.
ReplyDeleteYes and no....Ultron might be able to hack into his video-link. He might even be able to activate some of his weapons. But he can't force him to point them in a specific direction, his mind and a large part of his body movements are still his own.
ReplyDeleteI never saw Ward as villain. For me he was always Chaos and I think he will continue to upset everything.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I hated the last tie-in with TWS, I doubt I'll like this one any better. The movie is out earlier here but I've no intention of going to the cinema to see it.
ReplyDeleteJiaying explained what happened at first, she was desperate when her daughter was taken away and this is why she went along with Cal to find her but she quickly regret her actions, left him and went find her peace some place else. By your logic if she is evil because of that, Ward has not chance of redemption, he is pure shady and evil. We also can't expect Skye to give any chance to Ward. Cal did horrible things so did Ward.
ReplyDeleteSHIELD press release are as vague as one can't be so if you haven't seen the episode 20 yet you can't say they are forcing her to choose. A lot can happen and one thing that is clear about afterlife is that they have a completely different take about gifs than SHIELD does and we know this will cause conflits and Skye NATURALLY will feel divided since she felt like home at SHIELD but she now has a natural connection with the inhumans. SHIELD is not perfect, far from it and they have been doing a lot mistakes, especially involving power people. Coulson said himself how they always struggled about how to deal with them. I think the biggest problem is that you are already painting Shield as the good guys and inhumans as the bad guys like it's black and white situation. Even if it's revealed something bad about afterlife doesn't mean they are all bad, they are just different. Shield have so much bad stuff as well.
And she ends up having to try and figure out what she is alone, even if the core team are willing to accept her as an extremely powerful gifted, you have no idea if Shield itself will. While Gonzales and Co seem to be more hardline there's no reason to think that all the other staff of Coulson's Shield are going to be ok with this. Hell if Fury was still in charge I could see him having issues with this (or Hand, or Blake or anyone else pre Fall).
ReplyDeleteAs to Jiaying maybe being involved in the village deaths, most likely. But if Ward shippers blame his actions on Garrett to make believe he wasn't Hydra, then Jiaying gets to use the excuse of having just been gutted by what she had been told was Shield and then finding out that the same people were hunting for her daughter and had hidden her away.
So agree with you, we still have huge unanswered questions about the Inhumans. If Skye gets cut off from them we will never know, neither will she.
ReplyDeletehe's half machine and i read somewhere that Ultron wanted to control Vision who is an android, so what keeps him from controlling Mike?
ReplyDeleteCal I get. You don't want her around her family/people based on your feelings. Yet you want her with/around Ward after all the stuff we've seen him do?
ReplyDeleteTWS changed the very nature of the show, they couldn't still be in the MCU if they didn't tie it in.
ReplyDeleteWhat link?
ReplyDeleteYh I know but I still didn't like it.
ReplyDeleteI get a feeling... and it is just a feeling... but something in my gut tells me Clint is showing up...
ReplyDeleteI loved last years tie-in! but americans have to wait till May 1st to see AoU? why? in my country it premieres tomorrow night...
ReplyDeleteI feel like I might scream the next time I read "Ward wasn't Hydra"... maybe the skye is green, too, if it's better for Skyeward?
ReplyDeleteBut... but... Skyeward! Lincoln needs to DIE.
ReplyDeleteIt depends on how you define "villain", I think. If you're judging by his loyalties or goals, then no, Ward isn't a villain, he's a neutral force - the same could be said for a character like Huntress on Arrow, for example. If, however, you're judging by his actions (which is the correct criteria in my opinion), than anyone who commits evil acts - such as cold-blooded murder - is a villain.
ReplyDeleteThis is gonna be like last year when TWS came out early and so I knew a big Hydra reveal was gonna happen. Can't complain though, get to see Age of Ultron on Thursday!
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be a habit with Skyeward/Stand With Ward fans to state their opinions as fact, this "Lincoln will turn out to be evil or die by the end of the season" is no different from statements like "Ward WILL be back on the team" or "Skyeward is 100% endgame". Some people still can't tell the difference between the actual show and fanfiction.
ReplyDeleteWhile it would be cool as all hell if they DID appear, I don't like the fact that people keep stating the unlikelihood (I hope that's a word) of the Avengers appearing as a way to undermine the show's connection to the movies. Just because we aren't seeing the main characters from the movies doesn't make the effect of their events on AoS any less profound. Look at the Winter Soldier crossover. Would it have been awesome if Cap or Black Widow had stopped by AoS then? Of course. Is the movie's impact on the show any lesser because they didn't? Not at all.
ReplyDeleteI know it's a smaller tie-in than the one with TWS, but part of me is wondering if they can once again pull off a reveal as shocking and awesome as Ward being a Hydra mole? Because that was the definitive moment when the show went from "in improvement" to "absolutely amazing must-see TV".
ReplyDeleteWe've reached full-on bang-your-head-against-the-desk ridiculousness now. So someone can ship Skyeward but wish upon Skye the deaths of both of her parents, WTF? In her mother's case, two seconds after Skye got her BACK after believing she'd been dead her entire life?
ReplyDeleteFor the record, I understand the view that SHIELD is Skye's true family and/or that Cal and Jiaying are shady. But even so, you'd think anyone who even somewhat likes Skye would want her to simply part with her parents on good terms and go back to SHIELD. Why on earth wish for them to turn out to be full-on evil or die? So that Skye can be miserable and fall into Ward's manly arms for comfort? Jesus Christ.
Or maybe Jiaying is lying and May is actually Skye's mom who just forgot about the affair with Coulson.
ReplyDeleteAnd if that damages Skye so much the better I guess...
ReplyDeleteMaybe we the AOU tie in is Ultron killing all males other than Fitz, Coulson and Ward just to make sure.
ReplyDeleteYeah, think about it this way, if Jiaying betrays her/evil: Skye lost a friend, had her career forever altered, now has her life hanging by the views of Shield leadership, forever changed her relationships with the team, found out that her father is a murder, and her mother is EVIL. All as a result of her life long quest to find out about herself and her family.
ReplyDeleteThat's just a massive dump on her character all for SkyeWard and Shield is the only family. Should we kill of May's mother and Andrew? Simmon's family? Fitz's mom? Just to make sure they too have only Shield as a family?
The producers keep saying he's a Hydra agent but clearly they don't know what they are talking about. The man only worked for one Hydra agent Garrett and one Hydra head Whitehall most recently but he's not a hydra agent.....**sarcasm**.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain. I have the exact same fear.
ReplyDeleteInhumans aren't going anywhere but the rest of the cast needs to be involved. It can't be "Skye and the Inhumans...plus whatever everyone else is doing this week". Otherwise it feels like Coulson, May, etc are secondary characters.
ReplyDeleteFocusing on the original six is no longer viable after CA:TWS blew SHIELD up. It was fine when they were on the Bus flying from one mission to the next as a tight little group. That doesn't work anymore, not unless you divorce the show from reality/MCU. With Coulson's new role, they had to add cast members or else they would cease to be SHIELD agents. As long as SHIELD is still operative, season 1 will never happen ever again with all that's happened to it since TWS.
ReplyDeleteThe only reason for Skye's parents and the inhumans to be evil is to make Ward less so. That's never gonna happen.
ReplyDeleteIt is a word, and ITA agree with your point.
ReplyDeleteYeah and his stint with Hydra was so short, it's not like he spent YEARS at the SHIELD Academy being trained as a specialist, then another [x] years working as an agent until he was recruited to Coulson's team. Clearly, someone who spends such a short amount of time working for an organization is more like a guest...
ReplyDeleteAnd if he killed some more people during that period, or turned more gifted over to be experimented on or brainwashed, well sure whatelse could he do...
ReplyDeleteI don't think anything will be as gamechanging as that reveal or Skye finally getting her powers! But it would be amazing if they did pull something else off.
ReplyDeleteIt's that way for a reason at the moment, both to get skye somewhere safe and to Len about herself. There's no reason why you couldn't have Lincoln involved with the team (honestly has does being a biomedical specialist qualify you to be a doctor?)
ReplyDeleteThere is no good reason why the show can't focus on them rebuilding SHIELD and taking down people who seek to rise in their absence.
ReplyDeleteI would love a series of episodes about them building new SHIELD locations like The Sandbox or The Fridge. Seeing Fitz design tech to keep them from falling again, Simmons coming up with new Bio-scans to enhance security, etc.
Right now it feels like everything Coulson and Co are doing is so damn unimportant next to the stuff happening with Skye. It really sucks that they have been so diminished in S2B.
Yeah, I feel like making the Inhumans evil would strip a potentially interesting storylines of most of its depth. Oh, right, they're just MEAN people who want to take Skye away from her SHIELD family! It makes much more sense, based on both the comics and what we've seen in the show so far, that they're just a neutral faction that wants to be left alone. As long as they aren't being targeted, they have no reason to harm anyone.
ReplyDeleteAnd let's face it - even if everyone at SHIELD was completely accepting and supportive of Skye's powers, they couldn't give her all the help she needs to get these powers under control. The Inhumans can, they understand the whole thing a lot better. So it's a good thing for Skye to be with them for now, not to mention that she's getting a chance to spend time with the parents she never had*. I have no desire for the show to blow all of that up for the sake of a "haha, GOTCHA! They're evil!" twist.
* I know, Cal is a killer/monster... but I genuinely think he's crazy and can't be held fully responsible for it. The guy had his child taken away from him and found his wife cut to pieces before he had to literally sew her back together, it would make sense for him to not be particularly sane. His general demeanor certainly suggests so.
But they can't do it alone. Coulson has to work with other agents, other people that are just not FitzSimmons and May. Skye is out of commission because of her gift. Ward is out of the question, he's a traitor.
ReplyDeleteHow does Coulson realistically build SHIELD up on screen with just the science twins and one specialist? The reduced cast on their own is not realistical for the story they are telling about the fall of SHIELD and rebuilding. More people had to be added and that includes the red shirts in the lab and garage and missions as we've seen because as good as the original but reduced team may be, they can't multitask and fulfill Fury last wish on their own. And even with the increase in cast, Coulson's team still feels too small to even function as it needs to. The story will always focus on the main cast but the physical makeup of the show can't. We have to have more people for any of this to seem realistic. That's why in the end the two SHIELDs will merge. The question is who will be the director of both?
Yeah, and so far, everything from the Inhumans' perspective fully supports the theory that SHIELD means them, including Skye, harm. (And part of it does - look at Gonzales.) So this attempt to paint Jiaying and Cal as bad guys IF they want to keep Skye away from SHIELD - which might not even happen, as all we have to go on right now is a vague press release - is ridiculous. Even if it's true, they have a very good reason to want their daughter away from SHIELD: namely, for her safety. They don't know, as Skye does, that Coulson and his crew would never harm her. (Heck, even Skye might not be so sure of that anymore - she doesn't know that there are two SHIELDs, so when May told her to run because SHIELD is coming for her, she might have concluded that some of her former friends have turned on her... especially with Bobbi there.)
ReplyDeleteNot even a guest, he was just passing through with no intention of staying.
ReplyDeleteThanks, on both counts. :-)
ReplyDeleteI mean he was just gathering Intel to tell senior shield leadership.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he got stuck in traffic on his way out of Hydra, and started killing people because he was bored.
ReplyDeleteSkye has to be with her people, this time is important. Removing her completely from the inhumans is not helpful and will hinder her growth towards learning to control her powers. Without their training she's more likely to kill innocent people especially when she'd stressed out or confronted with someone she really doesn't want anything to do with, a.k.a. Ward.
ReplyDeleteStop being so logically! It's getting in the way of the fan fiction.
ReplyDeleteWhen you think about it, we can't assume that it's just Gonzales and Co. that have such issues with gifted. They may be the more extreme but it would be unrealistic to think that all the red shirts of Coulson's Shield are all going to embrace Skye.
ReplyDeleteWhat might they be thinking when the Bus was shaking itself apart, or when the base was shaking?
Skye forever more lives on the whim of Shield's senior leadership, the Inhumans may in the end be proven right about hiding from the scared masses...
Stop with the logic already. I mean apart from Gonzales, we have no idea about how the red shirts of even Coulson's Shield feel about this new Superpower gifted. I mean they don't really know her anmore than Gonzales does (hell he knows more cause he has her file)
ReplyDeleteYeah, the upcoming year in the MCU - up to Civil War - is going to be very interesting because now that the genie of Skye's powers is back in the bottle, things can't just go back to the way they were with Coulson's team being one big happy family. Even IF Olmost SHIELD wasn't in the picture, and they are, the issues Skye's powers raise won't be solved so easily. It's clearly going to be tied into the bigger question of what happens to all Gifteds now that the world is aware of their existence... and I doubt whatever happens is going to be pretty, because otherwise we wouldn't *have* a Civil War.
ReplyDeleteThis just shows how biased some people are. Cal and Jiaying wanting to protect Skye from SHIELD (*if* that's what happens - we don't even know that yet!) couldn't make more sense... but some have made up their minds to be against Skye's parents, Lincoln, and the Inhumans in general, so they're going to interpret every single thing these characters do as malevolent.
ReplyDeleteBy comparison, if Ward helped an old lady cross the street, I wouldn't start analyzing all the ways in which that action might be evil... my general view of the character would remain the ssame, but I'd accept that on that particular occasion, he did a good thing as opposed to something that affirmed my existing opinion of him.
I'm not saying there should literally be no other characters. I'm saying the original cast should still be the most important characters. Can you honestly say that at this point characters like Fitz, Simmons, or even May are important? Lincoln and Gordon are both far more integral to the story the show is telling now and they've just arrived.
ReplyDeleteThey're constantly diminishing the role of the Agents in Agents of SHIELD. I think that's a problem. I've seen people question why SHIELD even exists anymore because they're not doing anything SHIELD is supposed to do. It's infuriating.
Exactly, Skye is going to be one of the focus points (hell just think about when she tells May the other side of the story, that's may change how she views gifted/Skye). How will people react when she says, "hey I can move mountains!". The Inhumans say "that's fantastic you are learning control", Shield "YOU DID WHAT!?"
ReplyDeleteI knew it they will do this and i guarantee you next yr if the show is renewed they will do the tie in with Civil War...Marvel is an open book lol.
ReplyDeleteWell be fair they have to now with Skye in the mix.
ReplyDeleteAh the stupid dead people were asking for it all anyway. Sure look at how evil Hand was being...
ReplyDeleteEven if she wasn't they still had this all planned out. Once they did it with thor first time it was no brainer they would do it with another films lol
ReplyDeleteEven linking in the serum from Iron Man 3, if you read the Jon Whedon bit on the other thread, you can see that they factor it all in, as they have a year plus of warning before the movie comes out, Which is why Season 1A and bit of B was to an extent just framing...

ReplyDeleteSounds good to me. Glad to hear that AOU will have an effect on the MCU
ReplyDeleteOh yes, i already saw comments from skyeward shippers saying that Kara and Lincoln will or should die because they are supporting cast with solo purpose of just be ship stal so the show needs to get ride of them fast. This is a problem with ships on shows. The showrunners start teasing a couple in the begining and suddenly they belong together no matter what. Skyeward were never really together. Ward was infiltraded so he lied since the very begining and they kisses twice before she find out who he really was but somehow Skye was and still is madly in love, she is just angry. I also saw some of Ward's fans saying Skye needs to get out of her high horse in response to the scoop she won't react well to seeing him again. Basically they want her to go down to her knees and ask forgiviness to him for all the horrible things she said and did to him. God forbide someone nice to enter Skye life to help her during a difficult time. This is why i hope they don't make Lincoln a bad guy because the writers would be giving exactly what shippers want and it's lazy work.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Season 2 have been way too crowed with characters and some of the original characters like Fitzsimmons suffered. Season 3 should be better especially with the new spinoff and some characters leaving but i always got the feeling since ep 1 season 1 that Skye was supposed to be the lead of the show with Coulson. Their storylines were always the driving force to the show. Coulson was the reason they created the show and they set up a superhero origin story for Quake. I don't mind because i like both characters but i understand how other people get upset. Hopefully they give more screentime to others characters now that the heavy Skye storyline is being delivered.
ReplyDeleteI think what happen in AOU will bring back SHIELD alive with Tony funding them as private security agency
ReplyDeleteIf this turned into an inhumans show I would be upset. AoS is a spy show. The only thing I don't have a problem with is adding more agents to it which I think helps the logic of the show. They can't always focus on the original groups that's okay as long as we still get all the spy stuff. No to the inhumans overrunning the show, I agree on that but so far that hasn't happened that I want to switch of my tv completely.
ReplyDelete, Skye pretty much has to chose between the two since SHIELD is a danger to the Inhuman and "Real" Shield is a murderous enemy.
