Agent 33 have her knife on Fitz throat?. I like that Mike is in the middle of everything I wonder that him being a cyborg can eb controlled by Ultron somehow.
Jeff just rubs me (and a lot of others) the wrong way with the way he talks about plotlines and he always makes these snide little comments. He also clearly despises Ward, which is annoying because he should act like a professional and talk about all the characters respectfully.
I don't think he despises Ward. I think he respects him very much:
"Well, because you want people to go “oh, he’s okay…no, this is not his fault…oh, he did something terrible.” That’s the beauty of Brett’s character right now—anytime he shows up, it can be for a hug, or to put a bullet in your head, and you’re not really sure which one it’s going to be. And they’re all kind of earned, which is lovely."
Most of it is hype and trying to get us to talk, tbh, but we stopped falling for it weeks ago. Ugh, I always feel so unsettled after an interview of his and I'd rather someone else be interviewed.
It's not bad, it's just a drawing style, like caricature or comic drawings. As long as it looks remotely close to the characters it's fine. Just because it's not realism doesn't mean it's not good. Drawing them in those positions is actually pretty hard, it's very well-done. So are their facial expressions.
It's like in the comics you have a character, take captain america, the way he's drawn (and his comic) depends on the artist drawing him, people have different styles.
It's fun to see how we all react to all the art they release. All the reactions, speculations and interpretations like "What does that color mean?" "Why is this character in the middle?" and so on. And when the episodes air we all react like Fitz in "The Hub": "Ahhh, that it makes sense now."
I actually don't think that's the case. Ward isn't one way or another, he's his own person now and that's what Jeff has said time and again. For someone like Ward that means he's more on the "not good" side than for it. People have loved this about Ward and prefer to keep it that way and I think Jeff is very much aware of that.
I am being serious. I can't even recognize the character in the front. Is that supposed to be Bakshi? And I wasn't able to recognize Kara at all until I read the comments of others.
I love how Coulson, Ward and Hunter are pointed guns just past each other, but really at each other (thought I'm not sure why Coulson would want to shoot Hunter.) I seriously doubt everyone is going to be sunshine and roses to each other, but it's sure gonna be fun for us!
Yes that's Bakshi. With this kind of art, they're going for realism. What most artist will try and incorporate certain features from the actors that will allow people to identify who's who. In this case, most don't even look like themselves but based on spoilers we now that these six characters (Coulson, Hunter, Fitz, Mike, ard, Kara and Bakshi) are about to go on some sort of adventure together. We know who are allies and and who aren't, hence the colour scheme to make identifying even easier.
Maybe in the scene, Coulson's actually pointing at Kara for putting a knife to Fitz's neck, Hunter's pointing at Ward and Ward pointing at Coulson. Bakshi's just confused. Mike wants to put Ward down.
There are so many interesting interpretations! Something else I find interesting is that nobody is really looking at where they're aiming. Mike, Coulson, Ward & Bashski are all breaking that 4th wall, looking at us, who knows what Fitz, Kara & Hunter are looking at. Mwahahaha... so much deception, who knows who to trust anymore!
Look up realism and you'll see that this isn't even close. This is comic book art, pure and simple, appropriate for the show. Comic book art has no obligation to make everything look 100% realistic. Have you seen the comic prelude for Winter Soldier? The art is beautiful, the characters looked nothing like their actors, that's not the point.
The Ironman 3 prelude was the same thing, hardly any of the characters looked like there respective actors and yet the preludes are considered part of the MCU.
When I was reading Deadpool, in the first few chapters Deadpool and all the other characters he goes up against are very hefty, big dudes (ridiculously so) in later chapters it all got toned down (different artist). In fact, what Deadpool looks like underneath his mask changes from series to series, artist to artist, yet it's the same character.
I think this art represents well what a unbelivable mess next episode will be and i mean that in a good way. I expect a lot of twists. They are putting together a bunch of people with history of betrayal and mistrust and they will have to work together. Will take a awhile until them can stop pointing guns at each other and get on the same page about their goals. By promo pics, looks like Coulson approachs Ward and Kara in a hostile way and then they sit and talk. By the art we can see Kara threats Fitz but i doubt go anywhere. Skye and Lincoln will also be added on the plot to cause more drama. I can't wait. The next episode 4 episode will be so good.
Jeff hasn't said anything that's not true and sometimes I feel he's also trying to sell Ward as something he's not as if he's still got some good in him which I don't buy and the show hasn't shown this either since everything he's done since his Hydra reveal has been selfish or creepy.
Eh, I wouldn't worry much about that, S2 posters haven't been as representative of the episodes as those from S1 were. Case in point, the "Afterlife" one focused on SHIELD I vs SHIELD II, when really the episode was much more about the Inhumans.
Also, Simon Kassianides is nowhere to be seen in the episode's guest list despite Bakshi being in the poster.
Yeah, I'm not really sure where they're going with Ward, but one thing that's for certain is the age-old principle - SHOW, don't TELL. Nothing Ward has done since the beginning of this season has implied genuine remorse for his actions or the will to atone for them (all the intel he gave SHIELD was pretty obviously part of his longstanding attempt to get into Skye's pants, or he would've been willing to give it to Coulson, who sat in front of his cell to no avail for weeks). Instead, he's continued to kill people whenever they've inconvenienced him. The show needs to make up its mind - if you're going to try for a redemption then get on with it (as much as I'm skeptical about the possibility), and if you're not, then solidify it instead of playing this "oh, but there's good in Ward, even though we haven't shown any hint of it on screen..." game. But of course, if they did that last, they wouldn't be able to bait Skyeward shippers with the possibility of it happening. So it looks like they're just trying to string everyone along, both the people who love Ward and the people who can't stand him.
Pretty much. He's a murdering sociopath, poor childhood or not. Interesting character, that's true, but he's literally a mass murderer who shot people in the head and cut their throat, even people who considered him a friend, without any regret or the slightest hesitation. He's a creep.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Holy shit, this is awesome and I can't wait for next week!
ReplyDelete(Jeff Bell needs to stop talking, though. Please interview someone else.)
Is the kara and fitz thing gonna happen next episode since its the the artwork
ReplyDeleteYup. I'm sure Fitz surprises them but they'll straighten it out pretty quickly.
ReplyDeleteAgent 33 have her knife on Fitz throat?. I like that Mike is in the middle of everything I wonder that him being a cyborg can eb controlled by Ultron somehow.
ReplyDeleteWhy in the world does Kara have a knife to Fitz? Not cool!
ReplyDeleteWhy? I'm curious.
ReplyDeleteThis art is just awful, can barely recognize anyone.
ReplyDeleteJeff just rubs me (and a lot of others) the wrong way with the way he talks about plotlines and he always makes these snide little comments. He also clearly despises Ward, which is annoying because he should act like a professional and talk about all the characters respectfully.
ReplyDeleteWhy? I like his interviews. He has the talent not to spoil anything but yet gives us enough information about AoS to think about.
ReplyDeleteUmmm, Kara better get her hands off of my Fitzy. The rest of the art looks pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he despises Ward. I think he respects him very much:

ReplyDeleteThe art looks amazing, I love it.

are you for real or are you being facetious?
ReplyDeleteTHIS! ^^

ReplyDeleteI think that is Bakshi, the spaced out look could be representing of the (intentionally) lazy brainwashing.
ReplyDeleteI love how Coulson, Ward and Hunter are pointed guns just past each other, but really at each other (thought I'm not sure why Coulson would want to shoot Hunter.) I seriously doubt everyone is going to be sunshine and roses to each other, but it's sure gonna be fun for us!

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the composition. From this I can tell just how fun the episode will be.
ReplyDeleteHa! Love it!
ReplyDeleteMaybe in the scene, Coulson's actually pointing at Kara for putting a knife to Fitz's neck, Hunter's pointing at Ward and Ward pointing at Coulson. Bakshi's just confused. Mike wants to put Ward down.
ReplyDeleteEither you've seen the episode, or that's just speculation based on your opinions.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many interesting interpretations!
ReplyDeleteSpeculation but it seems likely that's what happens (I wish I had seen the episode).
ReplyDeleteI really dig this. Love the style and use of color. The outfits are all a match to each character's individual style too. Beautiful art.
ReplyDeleteIt's a Mexican (Marvel) standoff, lol.
ReplyDeleteIt actually looks like Ward is at their backs, which means he has them. God, this will be fun.
ReplyDeleteOr Ward's about to stab the in the backs, he doesn't look so friendly to me.
ReplyDeleteFrom the architecture of the restaurant, this Mexican standoff may actually be taking place in Mexico!
ReplyDeleteProbably because they're being attacked by Hydra or something.
ReplyDeletelove the design but why is Skye holding Fitz at knife-point? Or is that 33?
ReplyDeletei think it's 33 . In the interview they said that the red ones were HYDRA
ReplyDeleteSpeculation again, tsk tsk.
ReplyDeleteimplying that Ward would be Hydra, wich he clearly isn't
ReplyDeleteYou could be right, lol. I love this show!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's Kara.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing wrong with speculation (although I've been wrong about 98% of it. LOL oops).
ReplyDeleteLOL, Coulson gave into Lance's demands!
ReplyDeleteI think the way to go would be "ex-Hydra" they are the remnants.
ReplyDeleteThat's one hell of an art (but May's one is still my fav) btw why deathlock aka Mike is in black color?
ReplyDeleteI like the concept, but not a fan of this artist.
ReplyDeleteI like you buddy! U just said it have it was.
ReplyDeleteon on the other hand I said:
I like the concept, but not a fan of this artist.
Maybe because while he's working for Coulson he's not on the main tea like Hunter and Fitz?
ReplyDeleteLol, I appreciate it.

Interesting poster,definitely innovative!

ReplyDeleteI am really loving all these promo arts were getting for each episode. This episode should be action-packed based in this poster!
ReplyDeleteAgreed
ReplyDeleteI hope it's not because Ultron hacks him.
ReplyDeleteIsn't her green and the parts of him in shadow are black?
ReplyDeleteI really hope not.
ReplyDeleteIt was a typo. I meant to say they were NOT going for realism. Serves me right for not proof reading my post before clicking enter.
ReplyDeleteKara, I've been rooting for you to get un-brainwashed and everything, but you'd better get that knife away from Fitz's throat ASAP, sweetpea.
ReplyDeleteBecause anyone who doesn't describe Ward as a poor puppy who just needs a hug is simply a MEAN Ward HATER!!! Who doesn't get any cookies.
ReplyDeleteJeff hasn't said anything that's not true and sometimes I feel he's also trying to sell Ward as something he's not as if he's still got some good in him which I don't buy and the show hasn't shown this either since everything he's done since his Hydra reveal has been selfish or creepy.
ReplyDeleteGood question
ReplyDeleteI doubt Ward cares all that much for them. He's looking out for number one, himself.
ReplyDeleteOh, ok, that makes more sense... :)
ReplyDeleteNice!
