I love it, although it's a little tricky to recognize some of the characters. This art, with Coulson in the middle of the emblems of two organisations, just reminds me of the season 1 art with the mixed Hydra/SHIELD icons.
That is definetly my favorite art, it looks so cool. And where is May? I found this a little surprising that she's never been in a art(maybe they keep her for "her" episode).
Nor do I, but even she'll have some trouble. So for the moment Coulson, Hunter, Fitz and Simmons can't rely on her and have to figure out what do to on their own. But then May, and as the name "The cavalry" suggests, will come to the rescue the second she's needed the most.
This is such a stupid idea. Two S.H.I.E.L.D.s. I mean, hey, if you want to get by without having to try and get Samuel L. Jackson back that's fine, but make what Coulson is doing be legit. Don't make him run the "fake" S.H.I.E.L.D. This only discredits the Coulson character even more and that's after he died while trying to save Thor.
I wonder if Jemma is going to end up on the other side though. I can see Weaver putting a lot of pressure on her and Fitz. Hope they have a Bobbi/Jemma and Fitz/Mack scene to show how those friendships play out now.
Yeah a lot of people have been speculating that Jemma will go to the real SHIELD which I won't be totally surprised if she does but a little disappointed I gotta admit. These next few episodes are going to be crucial in seeing who's leaving or who's staying on Coulson's side.
Very nice. Blue vs. red, makes sense as one side is more aggressive and the other wants to keep the peace (and since aliens are so heavily involved, the "Olmost SHIELD becomes SWORD" theory seems plausible).
Everyone is asking "Where's May?", but my initial impression was that SHE is the woman on the right and Simmons is the one missing along with Skye. I guess I'm in the minority about thinking it's May, but Simmons being absent would make sense to me as she's likely to be torn between the two sides.
I know i would be sad, but it does seem to fit her character shift regarding gifted/enhanced/alien. The more hardline view of Gonzales might be more comfortable for her, particularly considering the reaction they are going to have to Skye's actions.
From the promo it looks like Coulson speak from the Cabin when he says he lost SHIELD and Skye at the same day but then again the new SHIELD is supposed to be there so he can't be there. But i do hope we see some more "wth" reaction after seeing the destruction. Bobbi was impressed. He also talk about Gordon so he will know what happened there. Bobbi is the one who saw all of this so hopefully she is the one who tells him about it because she is worry her "team" just wants to put Skye down.
We already saw a glimpse of who is leaving and who is not on the promo. We can see Mack, Bobbi and Simmons standing and Fitz turnning his back and leaving probbaly they gave him the option and he will go back to Coulson. But i get the feeling Simmons and Bobbi will stay but kind of unsure and end up back with Coulson eventually. Bobbi must be pissed the way they tried to kill Skye and i doubt Simmons would be pleased hearing about it as well.
I think it's more like ULTRON using Scarlett Witch to manipulate distrust... THEY Want the box opened. WHAT is in it? INFINITY STONE? It is protected by Vibranium. Once Age of Ultron ends, I theorize that Gonzales will apologize and it will be explained that Ultron created the distrust using Scarlett Witch... she's the one in Age of Ultron Trailers causing Avengers to distrust each other and turn on each other... and Coulson will be back in charge of Shield...
I wonder if there's a reason behind some people's circles being bigger, does it indicate their involvement in the episode, does it indicate something else or was it just done artistically?
Hmm, I was so mesmerized by the art, I didn't see the interview. "With FitzSimmons, one of the things we’ve tried to do over the course of the year is split them up and bring them back together, and split them up and bring them back together."
No kidding? I have not noticed that AT ALL... you guys constructing and reconstructing our hearts every few episodes... that was absolutely not happening.
I was curious myself. I guess it could be the level of impact they have in the story. Hunter is clearly Coulson's number 2 while May is still captured and Bobbie's role in OlmostSHIELD is only the second most important role next to the man himself.
In the end the only thing I care about is Coulson in the middle, THE Shield agent or or better yet, THE Shield director.
Well, May made very clear where her loyalty lies, namely with Coulson. And "real Shield" wants to get rid of Coulson, and Skye of course. "Real Shield" wants Coulson's Agents to switch sides, and that means Fitz' and Simmons' loyalty will be tested in the next episode(s).
True. Obviously, like everyone else, I'm worried about Simmons not Fitz, he'll be fine as far as where his loyalties lie. Though, after last episode when we realized just how good a liar Simmons has become, having her side with Olmost Shield only to play them would be pretty cool.
I'm worried about Simmons, too. Fitz said it already in the second last ep, Simmons is changed and not for the better. She is scared and fear is a powerful force. And that is something she has in common with "real SHIELD", they fear what's different hence Skye and other gifted people, and wants to eliminate the threat they believe these people pose. And we know where that leads to.
I meant that I know it is vibranium, but I am curious what is so important that it has to be hidden in Vibranium. Why Vibranium? Fury's secrets have secrets. LOL remember what Tony said. Something very important is hidden in the Vibranium.
It's just a silly idea in trying to make S.H.I.E.L.D. even more "stable" in the series when it's already barely anything since the huge reveal back in The Winter Soldier.
I'm not so worried about Simmons leaving anymore, I guess we're all so shocked about her position on super powered people that we're forgetting to analyze the facts. From the promo we know that Gonzales is planning on killing Skye and Coulson, something we know Simmons wouldn't agree with. We also know that Simmons keeps mentioning Trip all the time as an explanation for the way she's been acting. But in the end, Trip died to protect THIS Shield, not the real one, would Simmons go against the Shield her friend believed in, her friend who sacrificed himself?
We forget that Simmons changed BECAUSE of Trip's death, BECAUSE of the tragedy that happened to Fitz and (what she considers as such) to Skye. She might be going at it the wrong way (leaving Fitz and restraining Skye's powers), but has there been any evidence that she hasn't always been trying to protect her friends, her team? Would she leave them? She joined Hydra to help for crying out loud!
She might be a lot of things, but I don't think she would turn her back on them because she has a FEW things in common with Olmost Shield. In the end if she does join them than you can bet that it will be in her friends' best interest and for no other reason.
Wow, just wow. That was a great breakdown. Especially your point corncerning Tripp. I didn't think anything of it. I agree with you.
I just ask myself if she would protect other "special people" who aren't her friends/team/family, too. Because her reaction regarding Raina hints that she might react more agressively towards people like her.
But I don't think she agrees with "real SHIELD's" attitude towards enhanced/gifted people. Their behaviour (best example is Agent "shoot- first-ask-questions-later" Calderon) has a hint of genocide. That's maybe a severe accusation but their behavior is so "neutralize everyone who isn't like us". Their arguments have a very familiar sound.
Agreed, but her opinions on that will be sidelined until this is sorted out, or maybe she'll change her mind when Olmost Shield takes the same seemingly genocidal stand concerning powered people as she apparently does, but point out that Skye is also included because, after all, she's not different from them. Or maybe Skye will change her mind, what with the inhumans thing. Or maybe Fitz will. Or maybe in the end it'll come down to, maintain my position on powered people or save Skye. Or she'll be put in a situation where she has to meet the inhumans.
Either way, and I know a lot of people would disagree, but I don't see her maintaining her current view on powered people for long. It'll be like a break, like BAM, how was I so stupid or how was my logic so flawed? It might be after doing something stupid, but whatever stupid thing she does it won't be to turn her back on Coulson and co.
Let's say they all might nix their attitudes/opinions. And that makes it all unpredictable and impossible to assess. Everything is possible. And then there is Ward whose behaviour is even more unpredictable. The last 7 episodes will be such an emotional rollercoaster. OMG, just 7 episodes left and then we have to wait again. The horror. We already waited 3 1/2 months...
The writers said that in the end, all the pieces are going to tie together somehow, which is something I love about this show, EVERYTHING ties together. So we'll see how everything plays out and even some of the things that annoy us, similar to season one, will have a purpose in the long run.
I'm just so excited about the fact that the craziest and best episodes of season one were the last seven and here were are again on the homestretch.
Yep, I love that, too. "Everything is connected"- I love and hate these magic words. They intrigue and frustrate me at the same time. Every time we try to get information out of them and they just say these words, I want to run my head against a wall.
I get a little bit wistful that season 2 is over soon. Do you know between which episodes Age of Ulron will be?
We'll probably be left with a cliff hanger, though I doubt any Marvel movie will impact the show as much as destroying their organization did. But yeah I agree with you, whatever impact there is will carry over to season three.
While I agree with most of your point I definitely think that's Jemma. Mostly because I don't think one has to wonder where Melinda really stands here...
I'm not there yet. I tend to endure him a bit more lately, and I'm just past thinking of him as a dead weight, dispensable character. Hopefully I do end up growing to like him too, but I'm still on the "meh" train, just not as firmly anymore
But that's just the thing, isn't it? Since we know without a doubt that May is on Coulson's side, whereas with Simmons it's more questionable, wouldn't it make sense for May to be the one in this and on the right side?
Granted - everyone thinks it's Simmons in the poster, and when the interviewer referred to she and Fitz being in it, Jeff Bell didn't correct him/her. So I guess it is Simmons. But I still think that if one of them had to be missing from the poster, Simmons would've made more sense than May. (Some have suggested that May isn't in there because she's currently locked up, but knowing her, I don't think it's going to stop her from being part of the fight...)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Oops, had way too many issues with this one today. LOL.
ReplyDeleteWho's that above Lance? Is it Skye?
Amazing artwork! It's interesting, though, that May isn't pictured here. Maybe Melinda decides to find Skye.
ReplyDeleteI think its Jemma.
ReplyDeleteJemma pictured on Coulsons SHIELD but no May? :O
ReplyDeleteMakes sense!
ReplyDeleteCoulson looks scary, and Jemma and Bobbi look nothing like the actors/characters. And where is May.
ReplyDelete'cause May is captured. And Skye is out of the picture, too.
ReplyDeleteNo may in the poster?. What does that mean?
ReplyDeleteIs it fair to say I'm a little disappointed with this artwork.
ReplyDeleteMay is captured and Skye is with her people. So just Coulson, Hunter, Simmons and Fitz remain.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I guess Skye isn't in it because she's off with the Inhumans and May because she is being held prisoner while Simmons and Fitz are not.
ReplyDeleteI love it, although it's a little tricky to recognize some of the characters. This art, with Coulson in the middle of the emblems of two organisations, just reminds me of the season 1 art with the mixed Hydra/SHIELD icons.
ReplyDeleteI don't see May being captured for long. She is the cavalry after all.
ReplyDeleteThat is definetly my favorite art, it looks so cool. And where is May? I found this a little surprising that she's never been in a art(maybe they keep her for "her" episode).
ReplyDeleteNor do I, but even she'll have some trouble. So for the moment Coulson, Hunter, Fitz and Simmons can't rely on her and have to figure out what do to on their own. But then May, and as the name "The cavalry" suggests, will come to the rescue the second she's needed the most.
ReplyDeleteLove the design on this one. Look forward to Coulson and Hunter fun on the run adventures!
ReplyDeleteLooks really great. I like that Coulson is stuck in the middle between SHIELD and real SHIELD and also depicting who's on either side.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a stupid idea.
ReplyDeleteYes, I hate the whole Fake SHIELD plot, and more betrayal from people they thought were their own.
ReplyDeleteBut isn't it like it will be during Civil War? Avengers x Avengers. I believe this Shield x Shield is kinda a sneak peak.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Jemma is going to end up on the other side though. I can see Weaver putting a lot of pressure on her and Fitz. Hope they have a Bobbi/Jemma and Fitz/Mack scene to show how those friendships play out now.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if we'll see their reaction if they get to the Cabin? It's going to be pretty clear about Skye's powers.
ReplyDeleteWel, I think it will be another episode at least, didn't the blurb for her episode say she's still in Gonzales custody?
ReplyDeleteYeah a lot of people have been speculating that Jemma will go to the real SHIELD which I won't be totally surprised if she does but a little disappointed I gotta admit. These next few episodes are going to be crucial in seeing who's leaving or who's staying on Coulson's side.

Oh, and Hunter looks like Ward.
I see where you're going with May/Simmons but that is definitely Simmons and Hunter.
ReplyDeleteI guess the Coulson side being darker vs the lighter Gonzalez side shows the whole secrets vs transparency divide.
They are building up to "Melinda" and I cannot wait to see it.
ReplyDeleteI know i would be sad, but it does seem to fit her character shift regarding gifted/enhanced/alien. The more hardline view of Gonzales might be more comfortable for her, particularly considering the reaction they are going to have to Skye's actions.

do you mean the toolbox? isn't just instructions to rebuild SHIELD? i'm surprised people didn't freak out when Fitz said Vibranium
ReplyDeleteWard NEEDS to join the fight!
ReplyDeleteWhy would it be in Vibranium? Very small box. Only place to get vibranium is Wakandu, Black Panther's home.
ReplyDeleteFitz said that Little Lola was made to look for anything containing Vibranium
ReplyDeletethe Inhumans are NOT Skye's people!
ReplyDeleteYes please!
ReplyDeleteWell, they are her people (she's Inhuman, they're Inhumans). But they aren't her family. Her family are Coulson and the others.

ReplyDeleteYes they are. Her own mother was their leader.
ReplyDeleteI don't see this being used in the films. You can watch the films without even watching AoS and the continuity still fits just fine.
ReplyDeleteIt's just a silly idea in trying to make S.H.I.E.L.D. even more "stable" in the series when it's already barely anything since the huge reveal back in The Winter Soldier.

There are three episodes after the release of Age of Ultron, what that means is anyone's guess.
ReplyDeleteIf AoU has so much impact on AoS as they say, then 3 episodes won't be enough, right?
ReplyDeleteLast season, after CA:TWS, they had twice as much episodes left.
We'll probably be left with a cliff hanger, though I doubt any Marvel movie will impact the show as much as destroying their organization did. But yeah I agree with you, whatever impact there is will carry over to season three.
ReplyDeleteI believe season 2 will end with an EVIL cliffhanger (worse than last season's). And the hiatus will be hellish torture. That's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm not the biggest Hunter fan, but I'm curious what those will be up to next week.
ReplyDeleteWhile I agree with most of your point I definitely think that's Jemma. Mostly because I don't think one has to wonder where Melinda really stands here...
ReplyDeleteI like it... don't love it... there's definitely some interesting elements...
ReplyDeleteI've grown to like him a lot, which surprised me actually!
ReplyDeleteI'm not there yet. I tend to endure him a bit more lately, and I'm just past thinking of him as a dead weight, dispensable character.

The truth is that all AoS fans are secretly masochists who like being tortured ;)
ReplyDeleteHahaha...that's what I always say. :D
ReplyDelete(Maybe that's the reason why the ratings are so low. They can't stand the pain). ;)
Maybe the approach is: who's at play and currently active within both fractions.
ReplyDeleteBecause if you really break it down, not in the poster are:
Skye (who's with the Inhumans)
May (who's locked up in Ward's cell)
and
Calderon (who's probably out of commission due to his injury).
