  1. My bad, it should've said "Dr. Calvin Zabo/Mr. Hyde" instead of what's above.

I voted for Bobbi and Hunter, but I honestly like all of them. Great additions to the cast this season in addition to almost every character from Season 1 continuing to develop and become more interesting. The show has stepped up its game in every single department.

  2. Mack turned into an alien racist so i want him off the show now and i just found out that he's a whistleblower on SHIELD in the comics so i hate him even more now

    My sides.

  5. Whitehall and Calvin Zabo.

Really enjoyed Reed Diamond as Whitehall. I was skeptical since I'd seen him in so many guest roles but his acting and acting range really blew me away.

  6. Mac for his bromance with fitz
Hunter for being his snarly self ( thank god we have a comic relief now that fitz has become so serious and depressed all the time :( )
Adrianna palicki well for being Adrianna palicki!!
I'm happy with all the additions

  10. Bobbi is my favourite but I've enjoyed them all, Whitehall was creepy, Cal is wonderfully over the top, I love Mack's friendship with Fitz, Lance is a lot of fun and even though we haven't seen a lot of Bakshi I suspect he will come into play more.

  11. Reed Diamond has always been good, but hes been the supporting staff for far too long and Im just annoyed that dealt with his character so quickly.

  12. Bobbi and Hunter though I think they were all extremely well utilized. But I really like these two especially Bobbi, I am so happy she is a regular now!

They'v all brought good stuff to the show in their own way but I gotta say, I haven't exactly been blown away by any of them

Dr. Daniel Whitehall/Kraken - He is the best addition. The decades long plot has worked well and his diabolical badness has been spot on. He's been fun to hate.

Lance Hunter - I'm kind of meh about Hunter. He's ok and one of the good guys but I haven't seen anything from him that blows me away.

Alphonso ""Mack"" Mackenzie - Same with Mack. He's been a good emotional sounding board for Fitz but Fitz has been so sad sack that its getting increasingly tedious to watch and by extension Mack's interactions too.

Sunil Bakshi - Just an all around sleazy guy. Fun to watch.

Calvin Zabo/Dr. Hyde - Good intensity and all around crazy but the comic book guy in me is waiting for him to Hulk out and tear the place apart and it just hasn't happened yet. And it should.

Barbara ""Bobbi"" Morse/Mockingbird - Best addition with the biggest disappointment. As a would be Avenger, she should be head and shoulders above everyone else in terms of skill and smarts. But right now she's just one of the team. I'm not getting "superhero" from her and we should. One of the better parts of Mockingbird is how they have revealed that she is the ex Mrs Hunter. In the comics her original code name was "Huntress". Its a nice Easter Egg wink to the viewer but we need more.

  15. I think without the addition of Skye's father season two would have been far different.

  16. You know, I realize we shouldn't make things personal and reply to people's comments based on stuff they've said elsewhere, but...

It SERIOUSLY rubs me the wrong way when folks who are shouting "Ward must be redeemed! He isn't a bad guy, he's a poor abuse victim!" under every tree, harp about stuff like Mack's behavior in that sneak peek. When you're done advocating for characters who have worked for evil Nazi organizations with plans for mass genocide and world domination, murdered at least seven (by my count) innocent people and tried to drown two of their teammates, THEN you can complain about a character who said something douchey.

  17. Mockingbird is by far the best addition to SHIELD. Guess I'll pick Hunter for my second choice.

  18. Without a doubt, the beautiful and badass Bobbi Morse. One of my favorite characters ever! Lance is also a close second.

  19. Bless this comment all around. So true, Alex.

  20. I am just SO SICK of reading their comments, and truth be told, it even makes it harder for me to enjoy Ward's storyline on the show. Because I do like what they've done with him this season, his being a wildcard and all, but when I'm watching him I always have this fear that this show is going to appease the shippers and bend over backward to redeem him and put him with Skye, and the idea repulses me. I hate it when female characters throw their morals out of the window to hook up with "hot bad boys" who are horrible people. I also hate it when shows ignore the moral repercussions of things characters did. Coulson gave May a ton of sh!t for (sortra) betraying him last season and didn't trust her for a while - are we supposed to believe that he would EVER accept Ward, whose betrayal is a million times worse than May's, back into his team?

The show would become a joke if that were to happen. But the shippers don't give a toss about any of the things I mentioned, they just want their ship to happen. And as long as a male character is attractive enough, he'll get a pass on just about anything. Somehow, if Ward was being played by, say, Patton Oswalt rather than Brett Dalton, I don't think the shippers would be quite so forgiving.

  21. Agreed. I get so nervous whenever Ward is shown on screen because I fear that in one episode, he's going to try and find a way to get back into Coulson's team and Coulson is just going to talk with him and Ward is just going to apologize profusely and Coulson is going to accept it and everything is A-okay between them. I have seen similar stuff like this on so many shows that I have watched in the past and it just pisses me off to no end. I just hope that I can trust the writers enough to know what they're doing. For now, I just want him to stay far and away from the team for a little longer. And besides that storyline with him and Agent 33 teaming up seems like a lot of fun anyway.

  22. For real, the most I'm willing accept is Ward eventually going off on his own to atone for his sins, the way Mike/Deathlok did in the end of Season 1 (and Mike isn't even as bad as Ward, considering Hydra had a gun to his and his son's head all along). Either that, or he dies a noble death to save Skye and all the shippers can rejoice and claim that this proves his epic love for her. But the idea, alone, of Ward rejoining SHIELD is enough to make me hurl.

  23. Easy one-MockingBird and Lance Hunter.

  24. Cal's been my favorite so far, but I have high hopes for a couple new additions later this season.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Bobbi and Cal - best new hero and best new villain. I also enjoy Lance and Mack a lot, but the first two are the best.

I think they did a great job with new characters. The only one that wasn't super exciting was Whitehall, and even he wasn't bad, just not as fun as Cal and Ward playing him to get what they want.

    ReplyDelete
  26. oh LOL but it's true Mack's a racist now and i want him off the show. HE's causing all of this fracture

    ReplyDelete
  27. no it was for "my sides" but thank you for the meaning

    ReplyDelete
  28. Bobbi by far and then Mack and Hunter tie for me. They each brought something great to the show.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Cal has been by far the best addition. He was my only vote.

I like Mack. But I dunno how invested I can or should get in him.

I'm on the fence about Bobbi. I was so excited when the news broke that she was joining. And I was so prepared to like her. But I have been fairly underwhelmed. I think 2x11 was the first time she actually worked as character for me.

    Hunter is dead weight.

Whitehall started out good, but in the end I felt he went down a bit too easy. That was anticlimactic I guess.

Bakshi is a decent utility bad guy but overall nothing special.

As for other: I have enjoyed the Koenigs, and Agent 33.
And I'm liking how they've been using Talbot more throughout the season.

  30. I personally find myself in the middle of this debate.

Because I don't disagree with anything you said, but I also feel for Ward.

I like him, and I find him to be an interesting and tortured character. And I think his troubled past explains a lot about why he is the way he is (please note I said explains not exonerates). I also think there are ways he can be redeemed in like the very, very VERY longterm.

However the apologists and their usual defense of the character don't do it for me.

Him having a crush on Skye is not a good enough reason to look the other way for the things he's done. But I do think there are ways he can atone for his past. But it will be an uphill battle. And it will take a long time. And I think if some people aren't even able to fully forgive him for it that will be more than fair.

  31. He was shaping up to be such a good villain. But then he got taken down so easily, and I was a bit disappointed. I still adore Reed though!
