  1. My favorite moment this week was the one from Once Upon a Time.

  2. I have to admit, I thought this was the weakest episode of SHIELD in a while, maybe all season. It just didn't work for me. However, the action scenes are really good this season and the one you picked is no exception. I also enjoyed, once again, the effects on the Reader's teleportation. And it was a nicely subtle touch how Skye lost control after seeing her SHIELD friends beating on other "gifteds" and realizing what could be in her future.

  3. SHIELD ladies really have a thing for "the table is my finishing move". :D May's epic one and now Bobbi too. :D

  4. You know I really should attempt again to watch Shield. I tried the first 4 eps of Season 1, but just couldn't get into it, really slow burning episodes. Does it pick up in it's first season? I hear the second season has been really good so far.

  5. Great list, Robert!

My favourite comes from Justified. The mine-shaft sequence.

  6. You should absolutely give it another shot, but skip to episode 10 of Season 1 in my opinion. The second half, and ESPECIALLY the final third, of the season are much better, as is Season 2. I don't know if you've seen Captain America: The Winter Soldier - part of the weakness of Season 1's early portion is because they had to hold back on certain revelations until that movie came out. From episode 17 of the first season (a big crossover episode with the movie) onwards, they're free to do their own thing which results in a major improvement.

  7. You're not the only person to say to me "skip the first 10 eps" interesting that a lot of current fans found the half poor, at least I now know that I'm not alone in thinking the first episodes of S1 weren't great.

I'll probably start watching it during hiatus since it's on Netflix. The promos I've seen for Season 2 look really good, well the ones I've posted onto the site.

I love Captain America Winter Solider, great film. I think I actually remember something about AOS and the film being posted onto the site.

  9. Truth be told, I was thinking of quitting AoS myself after 3 or 4 episodes. I found the cases-of-the-week boring, most of the characters two-dimensional and annoying, and the overall tone too cheesy. A big part of the problem was definitely having to wait until Hydra's infiltration of SHIELD was revealed in Winter Soldier (the best MCU film so far, in my opinion, tied with Guardians of the Galaxy). From episode 17 onward, the stakes are much higher because instead of just going on random missions, they're dealing with Hydra while being fugitives from a dissolved SHIELD. The way that the show continues the storyline from Winter Soldier is really cool. In Season 2, especially, a lot of the problems from the early portion of the show are corrected - the characters become better-defined, the pace is faster, the tone is more serious, the action is better. I'm glad I stuck around because the payoff for the weak start has been worth it (and to be fair to the early episodes, they're a little better upon rewatch because you can catch the hints they dropped about what's to come).

SUPERNATURAL: I always love these scenes with the Winchester brothers in the Impala.

  11. I think it's also the best film so far :) I'm really looking forward to Dr Strange though.

I'm glad to hear that about the characters, I felt that they were two dimensional when I watched the first couple of episodes, it's good to know that they've changed that.

I really like episodes/shows that will entertain me,and the first 4 eps didn't do that, like you I found them boring, and there was no WOW factor about the show. It's good to know that's all changed as if there's one thing I hate most it's a show lacking creativity, and interesting storylines.

  12. Cheers for posting Robert!

Man, that Flash scene was just brutal. The actors get me every time I watch it, amazing performance from them both!

Poor Lemay :( My two favourite guest actors murdered this season - him and Perales. Constance selling the scene as she's forced to watch is more upsetting than actually seeing the beheading forst hand too.
