  • 16:12: MOVIES: Fifty Shades of Grey Sequel - Sam Taylor-Johnson will not be directing
Sam Taylor-Johnson will not return to direct “Fifty Shades Darker,” the sequel to “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Several reports, including one from Variety, said Taylor-Johnson had been looking to move on from the franchise, with sources saying constant arguments with author E.L. James over the direction of the film during its production forced Taylor-Johnson to reconsider her options.

With screenwriter Kelly Marcel not returning to adapt the sequel, Universal will now look to find a writer and director to replace the two. Variety first reported that James is very interested in adapting it herself and that U is considering it, but will begin meeting with people before deciding which option is best.

Sources say production is expected to get under way in the first quarter of 2016 with stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson on board to return.

About The SpoilerTV Daily Newsreel

Every day 100's of items are submitted to us and we don't always have the time to make separate posts for the news and/or there is so much that it would quickly push all other items off the homepage.

So a result we've come up with the idea of the Newsreel, which will feature smaller shows and news items as they happen.

There will be a new Newsreel each day, and as news is added we will update the post and and push it back to the top of the site so that you can see that new items have been added. A tweet of the item will also be sent to our @SpoilerTV account.

New Items will be listed at the top of the article.

This will allow us to provide more news on more shows in a much more timely fashion

  4. The Maggie trailer seems a bit different. I can't wait to see the movie. I'm glad it's a more serious zombie film. I hope it's as good as it looks.
