23:25: MOVIES: X-Men: Apocalypse - Lana Condor Joins Cast as Jubilee
X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer took to Instagram today to announce another new addition to the film’s cast in the form of newcomer Lana Condor, who will take on the role of Jubilation Lee, AKA Jubilee.
Created by Chris Claremont and Marc Silvestri, the character first appeared in “Uncanny X-Men” #244 and for a time was the youngest member of the core team. The character’s mutation allowed her to create and control energy plasmoids akin to fireworks. She previously appeared in the original three “X-Men” films where she was played by Katrina Florence (X-Men) and by Kea Wong (X2 & X-Men: The Last Stand).
Condor joins a cast the includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, and Rose Byrne reprising their roles along with Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan and Kodi Smit-McPhee as young versions of Storm, Jean Grey, Cyclops and Nightcrawler. Evan Peters is also expected to make a return appearance as Quicksilver with Oscar Isaac making his debut as the title villain, Apocalypse. The film is being written by Simon Kinberg from a treatment by Mike Dougherty, Dan Harris and Kinberg.

23:25: Nashville - Season 3 - Rex Linn to Guest
CSI: Miami alum Rex Linn has been tapped to recur on the network's country music drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Linn, whose recent credits include NBC's State of Affairs, will play William "Bill" Lexington, Will's father. The character is described as a handsome, all-American guy who's a fourth-generation Texan. Bill is macho and proud and owns a bunch of ranch land that he works himself. He believes that hard work and elbow grease is the only way to get ahead. He's a devoted and sincere family man — but also deeply conservative — and for him, having a gay son just won't fly.
Linn will make his debut toward the end of the season in May with the option to return for Nashville's potential fourth season.

Is it just me or is a sound playing in the background?
ReplyDeletelol it's the goldbergs promo.
ReplyDeleteThat Justified promo, oh god.
ReplyDeleteRe X-Men: I'm glad they're bringing Jubilee on. She was barely a glorified extra in the original trilogy, so I'm quite looking forward for more of her.
ReplyDeleteHA! at Alison being all pink and bright amidst all those dark colours of the other three. Though I will say... not my favourite graphic Orphan Black has produced.
Re Star Trek: Heard some rumors that the character Idris is in talk for might actually be a Klingon.
Jamie Lee Curtis looks great!
