Long story short for non comic readers:

The cover is making fun of an iconic DC story where Barbara Gordon was shot by the joker and paralyzed from the waist down. Due to her mainstream popularity she became a disability icon. Her comics generally have a female empowerment theme.

Instead the cover shows her visibly abused, upset and weakened by the man that crippled her.

Mr. Robot Among 5 TV series Selected To Debut at The Festival

E! News Correspondent Marc Malkin to Moderate Panel and Q&A with Stars from the Series, Including Rami Malek and Christian Slater

AUSTIN, TX – March 16, 2015 – USA Network will screen the world premiere of the new psychological thriller MR. ROBOT at the SXSW Film Festival on Tuesday, March 17 at 1:00pm at the Vimeo Theater, followed by a Q&A and panel discussion featuring the cast and executive producer Sam Esmail (“Comet”). The series, which stars Rami Malek and Christian Slater, was selected as one of five shows for the festival’s prestigious “Episodics” screening category, now in its second year.

In partnership with SXSW, the network will create custom beacon alerts rewarding consumers with free food and drinks, courtesy of “Mr. Robot.” Through Tuesday, March 17, festival-goers will be able to opt in to the official SXSW beacon network to receive push notifications alerting them to visit participating venues; giving attendees a sense that Mr. Robot is watching their activity and helping them “hack” SXSW. Locations include: Stephen F’s Bar & Terrace, Hideout Coffeehouse, Vimeo Theater and participating SouthBites food trucks.

Throughout the festival, USA is delplying brand ambassadors dressed as “hackers,” wearing all black and Mr. Robot style hoodies. During the activation, they will hand out “White” and “Black” cards to the crowds. The white cards will guide attendees to open the SXSW app to receive push notifications from Mr. Robot. White cards also serve as a platform for social amplification, as selfies taken with a Mr. Robot "operative" and #MrRobot, earn participants a black card. Black cards are $10 vouchers redeemable at participating SouthBites food trucks, the Intercontinental Terrance Bar & the Hideout Cafe.

MR. ROBOT, premiering June 2015, follows Elliot (Rami Malek, “24”), a young programmer who works as a cyber-security engineer by day and as a vigilante hacker by night. Elliot finds himself at a crossroads when the mysterious leader (Christian Slater, “Adderall Diaries”) of an underground hacker group recruits him to destroy the firm he is paid to protect. Compelled by his personal beliefs, Elliot struggles to resist the chance to take down the multinational CEOs he believes are running (and ruining) the world. The series also stars Portia Doubleday (“Her”), Carly Chaikin (“Suburgatory”) and Martin Wallström (“Simple Simon”).

  • 10:11 - MOVIES: Big Hero 6 - Voice Actor Confirms Talk Of A Sequel To Both MTV And Screenrant
Do you know what the world needs? More Baymax. And according to Genesis Rodriguez — AKA the voice of “Big Hero 6” superheroine Honey Lemon — we might just get it.

Speaking to MTV News at a press day for her new action flick “Run All Night,” Rodriguez confirmed that there’s been “talks” of a much-anticipated sequel for “Big Hero 6.” Excuse us while we go freak the eff out. The film was a smash hit for Walt Disney Animation, both financially and critically. After taking home the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, interest in a sequel continues to grow, from fans and the film’s all-star cast.

“We spoke during Oscar night and were like, ‘Well, maybe now that we got the Oscar, this might happen,’” Rodriguez said. “There’s nothing definitive. There’s talks of something happening. We just don’t know what yet.”

    Screen Rant:

Have they lined you up for a sequel or anything yet?

Genesis: There’s rumblings of something else happening. I mean yesterday I just saw that it’s the third most grossing Disney animated feature, so this is huge for them. I doubt that they wouldn’t want to do another one. It was a huge success.

  • 09:18 - Shameless - Sasha Alexander Interview
Let's start at the beginning with Helene: were you actively looking for a role so different from Dr. Maura Isles on Rizzoli & Isles, and what was it about Helene that made you say, "That's the one!" if so?

The wonderful thing about television is that you do get to play the same part for a long time, but then the other part to that is people do see you as only this one thing, and I really want to play all kinds of characters. And it felt like the only way to do that was to get yourself around a role that is a completely different side of you. The producers came to me with the role, and their concerns were that there was nudity involved, and they wanted to know whether or not I would even consider it, and I said, "Well yeah, but it depends, obviously, on what it is." So I had a lengthy conversation with Nancy Pimental and Chris Chulack and Andrew Stearn about the details of this woman — who she is and what role she plays in the story and then in Lip's life, really, along his journey. I think all we want to do [as actors] is take roles that are something different from what we've played, and Helene couldn't be further from Dr. Maura Isles. (Laughs.) So after six years on that show, it was very exciting to me. I was looking for something different, and Shameless came up, and it was perfect timing.

What do you think Helene saw in Lip that inspired the progression of their relationship to move as fast as it did?

One of the things that did concern me, and which I kept going back to, was "Would she really do this and risk her tenure by getting involved with [a student]?" That said, Lip is special. He's really smart and not just in class. I think that when he shows up to her office and how he is with her, I think she's attracted to him; I think it's sexy and hot and all of that, but then she starts to really see that he is a really special kid in terms of where he came from and who he is. So I came from a point of "This isn't just about sex." She's a progressive woman, so "What is it that moves her? What is is that she sees? What's happening inside?" She takes an interest in him that goes beyond what she expected. Not every episode is them in bed! (Laughs.)

  1. To me, Sasha Alexander will always be Pacey's sister (and Dawson's girlfriend) Gretchen from season four of "Dawson's Creek".

Woo Big Hero 6 sequel. Hopefully it happens and they bring back Tadashi as Sunfire. Although I'd prefer a TV series on Disney XD that picks up after the film.

  7. Glad to see Rusty back on The Middle. Next Wednesday's episode looks like it's going to be awesome as well, and probably emotional too (Sue may be hearing back from colleges).

  8. Really excited for iZombie. I like Rahul Kohli's character. Great to see lot of people of Indian origin getting work on CW. First Janina Gavankar in Arrow and TVD, then Nishi Munshi who plays Gia in The Originals and now Rahul Kohli in iZombie.

  9. As cute and Big Hero 6 was I don't want a sequel just for the sake of having a sequel. Give them some time to regroup creatively and come up with a good idea, and then we can start talking!

  10. Me too... And I've seen her in a bunch of things since, but that's still the role I do track her back to...

  11. I think a TV format that picks up after the movie might be nice. But if they do something like that, I'd like them to ditch the 3D, and maybe even try a more stylized 2D animation with a more comic-book-y art...

  12. It will at the very east get some press...

  13. I feel the CW in general has been aiming for diversity lately. Good on them!
