15:35 GMT : Jane the Virgin - Episode 1.15 - Post Morterm
TVLINE | I was very impressed by how they handled the proposal. It felt very realistic, and you could see both Jane and Michael’s sides.
That was a whole throwback to The Affair. That’s what’s so awesome about our show. [Executive producer] Jennie [Urman] and [our] writers are so brilliant. They take real situations and find ways to put them into this crazy telenovela fantasy world. You have these real relationship moments where you can see the guy’s side and the girl’s side. You can see how something happened and how something could be misinterpreted — or how both people can actually be right, but yet see things totally differently. Because we don’t all see things the same way. We’re unique for a reason. We each have two different eyes and ears, and we have our own feelings about and projections on what the other person is saying. What could be something very simple for you might be complex for somebody else, even though the intention was the same. I just love how they did that. They didn’t make Rafael seem like he was jumping the gun and then also didn’t make Jane feel like she was just rejecting him.
TVLINE | It was a very honest reaction, too. On another show, she probably would have said, “Yes.”
Absolutely. She would have said, “Yes,” and then she would have rethought the whole thing. We don’t take that normal, easy route. Jane is a very honest and strong character. She isn’t afraid in the middle of a moment to honor her convictions. It didn’t feel right. She didn’t just pretend and go along with it to save his feelings. She was very, very honest about it.

About The SpoilerTV Daily Newsreel
Every day 100's of items are submitted to us and we don't always have the time to make separate posts for the news and/or there is so much that it would quickly push all other items off the homepage.
So a result we've come up with the idea of the Newsreel, which will feature smaller shows and news items as they happen.
There will be a new Newsreel each day, and as news is added we will update the post and and push it back to the top of the site so that you can see that new items have been added. A tweet of the item will also be sent to our @SpoilerTV account.
New Items will be listed at the top of the article.
This will allow us to provide more news on more shows in a much more timely fashion
That Undateable promo was really fun. Brent Morin is fun! I would really like for this one to break NBC's lucks and work out as unlikely as it is. One Big Happy also looks fun, though that one is an even bigger long shot I feel
ReplyDeleteit is really weird not seeing Marvel in Comic-con i mean with all teh big releases coming up. I guess they want to keep everything secret.
ReplyDeleteStill kinda shocked Marvel won't be at ComCon this year... weird...
ReplyDeleteRe Better Call Saul: I love Kim! She balances Jimmy out very nicely. I wonder what happened to her...?
Not gonna lie... That Undateable music video was fun and adorable. And made me actually interested in checking the show out. In other words: Good promotional work there NBC!!
I'm pretty shocked too about Marvel, but it's big enough so that it doesn't NEED a comic con slot to advertise its movies. I still think AoS should get one though, it could use a bit more advertising.
ReplyDeleteI think that's what shocked me the most. Because yeah, you're right, the movies might not need the push but the TV properties (AoS, Agent Carter, the upcoming Netflix shows) could definitely use some love... Oh well....
