The Odd Couple - Season 1 - Episode Order Reduced
6 Mar 2015
The Odd CoupleAccording to various sites such as TheFutonCritc, season 1 of CBS's The Odd Couple was set to have 13 episodes. Now according to the production slate of CBS Studios (screenshot attached below), the episode order has been cut by one to 12 episodes. The episode cut is most likely for scheduling reasons.
Oh,false alarm. It's not getting cancelled-the thread title sounded ominous!
ReplyDeleteWhy?! It is doing really well right now Even if it falls!
ReplyDeleteI think CBS wants it to air as many episodes as possible with a new TBBT. This way the get to air 10/12.
ReplyDeletewhat's interesting is scheduling wise - they can totally fit in all 13 in the normal season so maybe this isn't a scheduling decision?
ReplyDeleteOnly 8 episodes will air this season...
ReplyDeleteActually that might be the case, if there's already a season premiere for next season in the can production can schedule a tad back
ReplyDeleteNo, the season finale is episode 11 and episode 12.
ReplyDeleteIt appears it needs to take 2 weeks off after next week because of Basketball So with this scheduling it would appear to be
ReplyDeleteEpisode 4-12th March
Episode 5-2nd April
Episode 6-9th April
Episode 7-16th April
Episode 8-23rd April
Episode 9-30th April
Episode 10-7th May
Episode 11 & 12-14th May
They could probably get 12 episodes in if it was 1 hour on 1 of the weeks.
Where did you see that?
ReplyDeleteThe Futon Critic.
ReplyDeleteI think that only the dates CBS has announced. No way the only air 8 and waste TBBT lead-in on repeats or move Mom again.
ReplyDeleteMatthew Perry said, when he was on Letterman a couple of weeks ago, that they had already wrapped S1.
ReplyDeletea lot of shows air into the 20s of May and thats pretty standard. so it could be episode 11 - May 14th
ReplyDeleteepisode 12+13 - May 21st (especially if BBT finishes its season the previous week).
regardless, definitely an interesting episode cut decision
If they have wrapped production, and they have shot 13, is there a chance that maybe they want to end on an episode that serves better as a season AND series finale instead of on finishing on something that's a bit more cliffhanger-y, so they might be shelving that extra episode?
