Thanks to Jess for the heads up on another interview.

JJJ: And poor Jasper! He’s grown so much this season and now he’s lost Maya. How will he cope with the loss? Will we see a different Jasper when we come back?

JR: He has grown so much. This season has been a coming of age for Jasper. It’s cost us on some level as fans – you know, I’m a fan of Devin [Bostick] and the character just like the audience is – and he was so fun-loving and happy-go-lucky, and obviously in some ways he’s been forced to lose that. I hope he can get it back. I think he probably will, but his heart is broken. Everything he’s had to do, he’s become a hero in his own right. He kept those people together, almost single-handedly. Monty was huge also, of course. But Jasper was sort of the driving force in keeping together when they lost Clarke this season inside Mount Weather, giving them a reason to continue. And yet, at the end, he feels betrayed. I don’t think that will be something he gets over very quickly. So it will certainly make for good material between him and Monty, and he and Bellamy, and he and Clarke in fact.

JJJ: As for the end of the episode, Jaha finds that robot woman who has nuclear missiles and Murphy finds a bunker that once belonged to a man who killed himself because of those missiles. We are so confused! What can you tell us about that?

JR: It’s hard to say whether that’s a good development or a bad development. It’s safe to say it’s probably not a good one. But I don’t want to definitively say that yet. What they found was the cause for the end of the world. There are enough bread crumbs there to lead you to the conclusion that Allie, this AI, is responsible for launching the bombs that ended the world. Of course, that’s not the way it looked for the people on the Ark who were watching their world get blown up – or I just say for the people on various space stations 97 years ago. I hope to tell the story of how all that went down in more detail in season three. And that guy in the bunker is in some ways related to that AI and in some ways he blames himself, and the guilt that leads to his suicide in the video Murphy was watching. He says, “She did it, but it was my fault.” He feels guilty about the end of the world. And then we meet her, who is unlike anything we’ve seen in the world of the show. And that’s what we try to do. I love the fact that season three now promises to be different from season two, like season two was from season one. The story of Allie, and what she is? And what does she want. And how is she there still? All of these questions will be answered.

TVLINE | Fans are still reeling from Lexa’s betrayal. Have you thought about where they might see each other again?
First of all, I hope they see each other someday. Second of all, I do think it was a betrayal and Clarke felt broken on multiple levels. Here was a woman she came to respect and count on and she was completely abandoned by her. It’s not something she’ll get over anytime soon, but as the dust clears and she wraps her head around what happened, she’ll probably be able to understand why Lexa did what she did. Lexa never lied; from the first time they spoke, Lexa said, “Love is weakness.” In that moment, she proved herself to be a woman of her word. She lives by what she preaches, so as hard as it was, I think Clarke will be able to understand it. That doesn’t mean she’ll forgive her, but she’ll understand her.

TVLINE | Does Cage’s death signify the end of the Mount Weather storyline?
Yes, the Mount Weather story has definitely been told. Emerson is alive, though. He’s the one person who survived Mount Weather, and he’ll probably factor into our plans as a threat that’s out there somewhere looking for revenge. But the Mount Weather story was Season 2. We turned the ship towards Mount Weather with the white room at the end of the Season 1 finale, and now, we’ve turned the ship again towards the über story of Season 3 with the City of Light — or, as it turns out, the Woman of Light.

TVLINE | Yeah, let’s talk about that. Will next season have a more futuristic vibe?
Futuristic, yes, but in a weird way, it’s also going to go back to the past. 2052 is when the world ended, and it’s 97 years after that that the show began, so one of the things we’re doing with this ending is getting back to how it all began. It’s a totally new element for the show. It’s a more technological thing, for sure. We’re going to play with how the world ended in the first place, and hopefully, we’ll upend some expectations.

  1. I felt the finale was weak, and they better come up with something better than a bunch of flashbacks next season. I don't want a whole season just about how the world ended. We need to focus on what the main characters are going to do now that the Mt Weather threat is gone and the Grounders are gone. They still need a decent place to call home.

  2. I'm really happy we get to explore the past on the show! It's going to be very interesting

  4. It seems like the Grounders won't be featured at all next season with the terms of the treaty.

  5. The Grounders are part of the DNA of the show, they'll be in one capacity or another

  6. speaking of Grounders, if Lincoln was with the 100 should he be even considered a Grounder anymore?

  7. I think he should be considered both a tree people and a sky people. Same with Octavia

  8. Hell yes! I have been eagerly awaiting on some flashbacks to before the nuclear war so this is going to be awesome. I'am already so hyped up for season 3!

  11. Loved the finale! Devon stole the show with his heartbreaking scene. BTW I hope they reexplore the Octavia/Jasper friendship again in S3. Marie & Devon have such great chemistry. Jactavia needs to come back. I think Octavia really helps Jasper be the best he can be...

  12. what will they do? they will rebuilt themselves there. they dont have the theath of MM and i guess the only thing they will worry about is the grounders but they will have a "tense peace". Im pretty sue Clark will end up with the Grounders for a few episodes, Lexa will ask her to stay and so on and so on.

  13. I really like this idea of the flashbacks that will show the end of the world. I can see Murphy looking in that light house and finding bunch of videos, putting them in and seeing the story of the end of the world.... But wait that sounds familiar to me. Of course... that's how the end of the world is explained in "The Grasshopper Jungle" Book (if you havent read it, go to, you are missing some cool, crazy shit).
But i feel dissapointed tho. So it's safe to assume that the people looking for the city of lights died when they went there, it seems that the only thing there was that mansion. A.L.I.E killed them all?

  14. Ah fuck I knew it, Jasper holding a grudge of sort with Clarke. I guess he didn't read my post on what I thought about the episode.

And I knew it, like I said in my other post, Emerson is alive, that mother-fer is who I want dead the most, that grin of his need to end.

  15. His a grounder who fights for his own reasons and not by command. His will wants him to be with Octavia. I don't think he should be considered one or the other.
For me he is a Grounder who lives with the Sky People as of now so it seemed that he would.

  16. I really wish CW had given The 100 a 2 hour long finale. It would have had even more impact watching these two episodes together. I am really excited about season 3 and seeing how the nuclear bomb exploded. I really don't want Jasper to hold a grudge on Clarke, Bellamy and Monty. If Raven can understand Clarke's choice of killing Finn, Jasper should too and I think he will given time. Also I can't wait to see the next meeting between Lexa and Clarke. That asshole Emerson is going to be back.Ugh.

  17. oh yeah that's the perfect description, nice

  18. Flashbacks to 2052!! I'm excited to see how the world looked like. And from post-apocalyptic into more futuristic sci-fi, OMG! As a big fan of Divergent, Hunger Games and Maze Runner, I'm going to love this new direction.

  19. I hope Clarke is going back to MW. or the city of light I've had enough of the Grounders for a while.

  20. I highly doubt it. surely Octavia and Lincoln won't stay on the Ark for long
Bellamy will probably lose it at some point and go searching for Clarke
and then there is that AI with a nuke. if she/it is the one that destroyed the world, she might want to finish the job. and there arent a lot of worthy targets for her except the Grounder city.

  22. i dont know how it should have ended, but this ending is elementary to me its like they ran out of ideals and threw it together the whole episode seem like it was stretch just to make up the ending.i dont like that the dad in monut weather was shot i dont like the whole ideal of mount weather going being introduced if it was gonna go out like that what do we have for season three?i dont want to flash backs i hate movies that go back it starts to get confusing.i dont understand the robot lady and the house how she said jaha sent a piece of the ship to her.season 3 will be a lot aexplaining what happen to the world and how they became sky ppl.i think its ovious clark will go to find lexa murphy lives nicely maybe someone washes a shore like a girl, and jaha begins a new journey with the robot lady...i just hope its more exciting and twist and turns but believable twist and turns not someone coming back to life!

  23. I wonder wha Clarke will do now. She better change her name, at least, because no way are the grounders going to be receptive to her wandering across their territory. Maybe she'll become a sort of travelling healer, you know? to go back to how she was before all the killing. she was pretty much the camps doctor by default. Or maybe she'll get captured by slave traders. I feel like in a post-apocalyptic world, there would be slave traders.
