If Thompson wrote episode 10.18 Book of the Damned, it’s very telling that he wanted Charlie to be involved in saving Dean…
ReplyDelete10.11 There's No Place Like Home
Charlie: --- Anything about the Mark?
Sam: Yeah, maybe. I found this book. It's a lore book -- "The Book of the Damned."
Charlie: Sounds legit.
Sam: It's in a library somewhere in Tuscany. It might be a dead end, but I figured...
Charlie: I'll go check it out.
Nice! I didn't even think of this. I'm sure Charlie will show up in that episode now. Wonder what's so special about that book that the Men of Letter bunker doesn't have?
ReplyDelete"My Brother's Keeper"
ReplyDeleteI REALLY hope Sam doesn't have to make some kind of deal to anyone.
God we're getting so close to the season finale! boo
ReplyDeleteOh f**k...Thompson can't stop to shove his little girl into the show...
ReplyDeleteAt first, the title of episode 10.21 conjured up an image of dictator Dean (à la 9.22 Stairway to Heaven) / King of Hell / Father of Murder – something along those lines.
ReplyDeleteHowever, there might be only a tenuous connection between the title and what actually happens in the episode because the title Dark Dynasty seems to be a pop-culture reference (Duck Dynasty)
Internally freaking out about "My Brother's Keeper"...like all i can think is crapcrapcrapcrap...but using a different word other than crap!
ReplyDeleteMy Brothers Keeper....hmm I don't like the sound of that. I think Sam is in big trouble.
ReplyDeleteCharlie is one of the only good things left about this show.
ReplyDeletewell I love charlie so happy if she's involved and why not. i get sick of people dissing ever single female character in this show. nothing ever pleases.
ReplyDeleteDark Dynasty & The prisoner sound intriguing!
ReplyDeleteAngel Heart sounds like it's going to concern Cas. Maybe it's gonna be the episode where Dean tries to kill him, or Cas tries to keep his promise of killing him if he gets too dark.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling it is Sam's turn to die only to be resurrected with consequences next season for the billionth time
ReplyDeleteMy Brother's Keeper is a reference to Genesis 4:9 when Cain killed Abel - "Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?" "I don't know," he replied. "Am I my brother's keeper?". So i think this episode will either see the completion of Cain's prophecy for Dean that he will kill Sam (which would mean he killed Castiel and Crowley in the proceeding episodes - my bet are Angel Heart and Paint it Black or Dark Dynasty), the return of Cain (i can dream), or the first appearance of Abel as the writers have mentioned they would like to bring him into the show (http://au.ibtimes.com/supernatural-season-10-spoilers-abel-could-be-introduced-new-season-jeremy-carver-teases-discussion). if they did introduce Abel my bet is him being a villain (if not the next seasons big bad) as they have killed his brother, he would be the oldest and most powerful ghost in history (with no bones to burn as they would now be dust), he has ties to Lucifer, and he is Sam's forefather like Cain is to Dean (so he is also most likely to be psychic like Sam). Just my thoughts - let me know what you think! :)
ReplyDeleteMy other theory about 'My Brother's Keeper' with it being immediately proceeded be 'The Prisoner' is that the villain is neither Dean, Cain or Abel but rather Adam Milligan their half-brother, who is still a prisoner in Lucifer's cage. has just been refreshed in the audiences memory thanks to the 200th episode and very much fits the theme of familial betrayal implied by the Brother's Keeper reference in Genesis, as Sam and Dean have betrayed him by convincing him he could trust them 'because they are family' only to be left behind at the first possible opportunity and never thought of again while he languishes in the single worst place in creation, despite being a complete innocent. I think this would be a very interesting storyline and if the writers went there he could be an amazing main villain as he would now be a very powerful demon having been twisted by Lucifer himself, over what would be many thousands of years in Hell-time, and with a very legitimate grudge against the Winchesters, he would be a villain that could play upon their consciences.
ReplyDeleteAngel Heart may be a reference to a 1987 film of the same name where The Devil hires a PI (he doesn't know he is being hired by The Devil till the end) to find a man called Johnny Favourite who owes him a debt (no prizes for guessing what!) as he investigates all of Johnny's old friends are killed before they can reveal too much. it turns out in the end HE is Johnny Favourite but forgot due to trauma and a ritual he performed to stop the Devil finding him and he had been killing the leads in a fugue state throughout the film and the Devil hired him to jog his memory and claim his prize. Now what i think this means is that the boys will investigate a string of murders and it is eventually revealed the killer was Dean all along, at last totally under the Mark's power. if i had to guess who was killed i would say some random angels leading to Castiel's involvement and by the end Dean under the Mark's sway will kill him in order to obtain the First Blade (i know i would cry as well) hence Angel Heart, and beginning the storyline leading up to the finale.
ReplyDelete"The Prisoner" sounds like a introduction of powerful character in the show or a old character that we see before, maybe Lucifer or some ally of Rawena perhaps.
ReplyDeleteThose are interesting thoughts....I would like that.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about Adam. Jared said at Houston con that it would be jumping the shark for real if he was brought back. I like your other theory better.
ReplyDeleteI think it might be referring to Metatron. But I would love it if it were Lucifer.
ReplyDeleteWell in that case she's right at home with Jared.
ReplyDeleteI want Sam to be involved in SAVING Dean NO one else, if Charlie does I will scream!!! Sam deserves this save above anyone else.
ReplyDeleteso heres a theory, obviously Dean won't kill Sam. But the prophecy of killing a brother only says brother... there is another on in hell right???
ReplyDeleteI say the third brother in hell is the one that has to die, never specified which brother!
ReplyDeleteInteresting but Sam was only psychic because of Azazel...so Abel probably isn't psychic...
ReplyDeleteCain said Sam's name though...
ReplyDeleteoh yeah - forgot about that! never mind i'll remove it :)
ReplyDeleteClever loophole but Cain actually called Sam by name. And i doubt that would really affect Dean emotionally at all. Not to mention that would be seriously harsh to poor Adam whose only crime was trusting the Angels and then the Winchesters, for which he is in the worst place in creation.
ReplyDeleteHow does Sam deserve the save? Dean has saved Sam repeatedly but Sam hasn't saved Dean anywhere near as many times.
ReplyDeleteI hope not, I would love to see a new villain or powerful character as Cain.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I've already been hearing some rumors about "The Prisoner" and how it could reflect on the three prisoners inside Lucifer's cage so I wouldn't be surprised either if Adam plays a part.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds more like the plot to My Bloody Valentine to me! Bet this one has more to do with Crowley and his mother more than with Dean. Or it is a Castiel and Claire heavy episode
ReplyDeleteWe've been hearing "rumors" about the cage and Adam for 4 years though.
ReplyDeleteThe writers keep saying "we can bring back anyone as long as there's a good story to be told". There are dozens of ways they could bring back Adam with a decent story, yet they never do, and five years later is way too late IMO.
I wish people would let it go.
Ever since the fifth season finale there has been no good story shown on Supernatural that would call for Adam's return, nor Lucifer or Michael appearing. Metatron, however, speaking on how the Mark of Cain ends "at the source" could indeed hint to Lucifer himself.
ReplyDeleteI meant creating a season-long arc specially for them. They don't deserve anything less in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteThe writers practically had their work cut out for them with these characters, it would have been easy to make them big bads instead of, for example, the Leviathans.
Any story involving the brothers willingly seeking out those left in the cage would be a terrible idea I think.
Sam probably wasn't aware that they were keeping scores, he should really watch his ass now !
ReplyDeleteYou guys forget that there is still the whole Rowena/Crowley/Grand Coven plot to finish right??? Not to mention Cas finding his grace, as well as something to do with Claire. Yeah, those boring stories need to come to a close as well lol
ReplyDeleteI hope so, Charlie is a great character, love every single one she is in :P
ReplyDeleteThey had season long arcs concerning them. It was season five and it was focused around the impending Apocalypse. If this story plays part with the Mark of Cain, specifically Lucifer, then it would bring these characters back without trying to retread of old territory. Lucifer would only be a menace if the Apocalypse was going on and Jesse would end up being a factor as well, which would just over complicate things.
ReplyDeleteSad when you got to take a shot at someone else when the convo wasn't even about them. In I agree with the poster above her character is not good. But I have no problem with the person.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't taking a shot. I was making a point, I find it funny someone would complain about someone on this show in regards to bad acting, as Jared is a bad actor (he has gotten better admittedly) and he's in every episode.
ReplyDeleteYes and it's about time that the writers remedy that situation. It really is a crime that Sam has never been given that opportunity.
ReplyDeleteAn opinion that is shared by hardly anyone. When Jared is given material to work with i.e. something other than being knocked out or tied up he usually does an outstanding job. It's hard to come up with another version of a concerned look or how do I walk out of the scene more convincingly this time. Hopefully the show that he is a costar of will remember that the show does center on the brothers and give him something to do.
ReplyDeleteFunniest thing about that, is that you can buy the book on Amazon.
ReplyDeleteThe movie it gets its title from is about how you can't outrun the devil. So I expect it to be Crowley heavy too.
ReplyDeleteIf the last 2 years under Carver's reign have anything to go by, Angel Heart is definitely a MOTW/filler episode. The last 3 are heavy on mytharc and at least 2 of the remaining 4 episodes are MOTW too.
ReplyDeleteI really love your theorie :)
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that while not every finale ends with one of the boys dying, when it does, it happens in turns. Sam's up next, so I'm really scared...
ReplyDeleteOMG! :O I can´t wait!! :D ♥
ReplyDeleteThe realization of this is insane. It amazes me how SPN hasn't become a bore to people who still watch it(such as myself).
ReplyDeleteS1 - Dean gets injured and on the brink of death
S2 - Sam dies in the two-parter and Dean makes a deal to save Sam
S3 - Dean dies
S4 - It's at least suggested with the remaining moments of the season that both Sam and Dean could die
S5 - Sam "dies" by jumping into Lucifer's cage
S6 - It also ends with the assumption that Godstiel could kill Dean, Sam and Bobby if they don't bow down to him
S7 - Dean supposedly dies, but is sent to Purgatory instead
S8 - Sam is on the brink of death
S9 - Dean dies, but is then resurrected as a demon
I would at least hope there's one season finale in this series that doesn't end with either Sam or Dean on the brink of death or close to it. There can't be a cliffhanger where Sam and Dean are fine?
Hmm sound very possible. I was thinking something similar-ish about the My Brother's Keeper episode. Since all the episode titles are typically pop culture references I was thinking it could be a "My Sister's Keeper" thing. In the book the little sisters dies and that ends up saving the older sister leaving her cancer free and able to live a healthy life. So maybe killing Sam would help Dean in some way since the show has framed Sam as the bad or dark natured brother in a way with his connection to Lucifer and Abel (whom Cain hinted at being bad when he told Dean about the mark before giving it to him) like killing the supposedly bad/dark brother would free Dean from his own darkness ... maybe a bit convoluted but a thought.
ReplyDeleteI'm just saying that Sam is more often the saved rather the saver. I'm saying the way Sam has treated is brother since season 8 8x23 blaming Dean for everything, 9x13 Purge ending and 10x09 immediately demanding Dean had to kill Randy, etc instead of asking if he was ok first since he obviously had a head wound and it was 5 to 1.
