Shameless - Drugs Actually - Advance Preview - “Torture, Revelations, Reunions and Acceptance.”
23 Mar 2015
NA Reviews ShamelessHi again, Shameless fans. I want to say a huge thank you to all of you making my first preview so popular and seeing the response on Twitter to last nights episode was wonderful, I’m so glad so many of you enjoyed the episode. Here’s some teasers and quotes for you to look forward to before this Sundays episode, with just 1 more episodes until the Season Finale!
Mickey does stand up to Sammi in a interesting way and she does ridicule him and may even pull out a gun, but Noel Fisher’s face is like “the f*** I care”, the shot alone is priceless.
Mickey and Debbie share some funny scenes together, you might even see Mickey a little scared / nervous for a moment which is rare (the exception being of his idiotic father). You will get some kind of torture against Sammi, mark my words, it'll be electric. Especially after the events she caused, Mickey has something planned which will be executed, something you’ll be happy with but don’t miss the last few minutes.
I’m not entirely sure where Fiona and Gus stand but she and Sean grow closer during the episode. However Sean might not be the best guy for her to be around, he’s hinted at his struggle with addiction before and it will come back into play during this episode.
One of the most touching but also emotive moments is between Ian and a family member at the Military Prison, you might not expect something truly thought provoking to come out of this persons mouth but it does. This entire scene is simple but echoes with such honesty. The poignant dialogue between two struggling souls and a glass barrier is shot so simply. This scene highlights isolation in a subtle way. Cameron Monaghan’s acting reaches another level and for a second your reminded that he’s just a lost child, the camera work and the close ups of the faces speak volumes. However, this episode will also reveal a secret Ian's been keeping. It's not necessarily a bad thing but it's surprising.
At the Military Prison, the Gallagher's choice of words are particularly hurtful but it came from a good place, there just trying to get him of there by any means necessary. Here's the Sneak Peeks in case you missed them. The scene truly echoes so much emotion.
Another scene to look forward occurs between Debbie and Mickey and a Furniture Removal Box (you’ll understand when you see it), it’s quite funny and I was very happy with it and hopefully you will too. Both Emma Kenney and Noel Fisher were both excellent. If you liked the scene in a previous episode where Debbie was pretending to have bipolar to get some lithium you’ll enjoy this one too.
I’m not sure about you guys but so far I’m really liking Lip’s College Professor Helene. Sasha Alexander to me is perfection, her scenes are wonderful. This episode she takes Lip to visit some people whom could be helpful to Lip later on, it’s a enjoyable one where Jeremy Allen White acknowledges that theres nothing wrong with Southside and puts a guy in his place. Never forget where you come from. The reaction from Sasha Alexander is of utter pride, her eyes are particularily expressive in this moment.
Veronica and Kevin are forced to confront their issues after The Alibi gets flooded. I’ll tease that the ‘Wifely Duties’ comes up, things are yelled and a pool table is involved.
Bianca is getting a little too wild for Frank and that’s saying something since he’s about the wildest guy out there. As the promo indicated Bianca is getting extreme. Death knocking on her door is making her incredibly daring, the scene featured in the promo is really freaky, I don’t know why anyone would do that. They take wild to a completely new level during this episode and William H Macy’s face during it is hilarious.
To end, the ending really sets the stage for the season finale which has a surprising twist right at the end and before it, don’t change the channel after the first set of credits roll, theres always that sneaky tease like last years finale with Jimmy / Steve and theres one here, pay attention or rather listen very carefully. There are three endings of sorts, you’ll understand when you watch the episode, one of them most people will be okay with (or rather not really care) the other two, not so much...
Teaser Quotes:
"Jesus keep your shirt on."
“He’s been acting crazy for longer than that.”
“We’re calling the police, you broke into his house.”
“I didn’t know those words had a secret meaning.”
“Family sucks ass!”
“You want details?”
“You should never apologise for being you.”
“I know what you really want.”
“Get your eyes checked.”
“The f**** a girl like that doing with Frank anyway.”
“B**** is in the basement.”
“What are we going to do about Sammi.”
Episode 11 'Drugs Actually’ airs this Sunday at 9 on Showtime. Thank you for reading my preview. Let me know in the comments did last nights episode live up to your expectations?
thanks for the preview, i really liked last week's, too. my heart is breaking for ian. do he and mickey get to talk or interact at all? i know mickey's there with the rest of the family in the clip but pther than that?
ReplyDeleteYour welcome, no not really sadly.
ReplyDeleteHey everyone :) hope you enjoy my preview. Theres some fun Debbie / Mickey scenes ahead, let me know in the comments if you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer :)
ReplyDeleteCan you say anything more about Ian's secret? Is it Monica related?
ReplyDeleteI think the writers are gonna kill Ian off or put him in some hospital, at this point I cant see where his story can go. They will not make up some miracle drug that would make him normal again, and they cant make another season of him being depressed all the time. I really hate what they dit with this character...
ReplyDeleteaw that's a shame, i guess i should've known after they got multiple scenes in the last ep! oh well, excited for the mickey and debs stuff, i've been wanting them to bond. is mickey still staying at the gallagher house or is he back at the other house? and is there any sign or comment on svetlana and yev?
ReplyDeleteIt might be, the promo hints at a blonde woman :) I'll leave that to your imagination.
ReplyDeleteIt seems so, theres a scene in which he's getting ready to go visit Ian at the Gallagher's :) No sign of those to yet.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about that storyline, in regards to this episode I think he might be finding self acceptance etc but I haven't seen any signs of that so far. I would hate for that to happen.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading :)
there are plenty of actual, non-miracle drugs to manage bipolar disease.
ReplyDelete'Listen very carefully.' Hmmm you're teasing us!!! Do we possibly hear Sheila and Karen's voices, lol? :D
ReplyDeleteyeah, and what the doctor told about them working in the last week episode? It takes time, years...its not like they gonna leave him like this in the final episode and in the premiere next season (that in the show timeline would be a few months later) lets say Debbie is talking to Fiona "this new drug is really working, right Fiona? Ian is just like he was before". That would be really cheap conclusion.
ReplyDeleteYeah :) It's someone else but it is significant in the plot-line, I don't want to say too much as it gives away something else.
ReplyDeleteso his secret is the fact that all the time he was in contact with her. I really dont like that woman...
ReplyDeleteI personally wouldn't call Ian being in contact with Monica a secret since we've known since season four that they been in contact and everything... unless there's more to the secret than just the that. Monica, in my opinion, is one of the most fascinating characters on the show although she's not been on that much. I'm really excited to see her again!
ReplyDeleteThis is so intriguing, and scary! Thank you for saying even this much. :)
ReplyDeleteI decided to give up on Shameless after last week's episode and now from reading your review I think that I made the right call. Some of the shows' plot lines got too boring and repetitive and the others went too over-the-top or just plain stupid.
ReplyDeletesorry to hear this :( thanks for reading though.
ReplyDeleteyour welcome :) it's not scary though.
ReplyDeleteit's not a perfect system, and yes, he'll most likely have to be on medication for years, but many people with bipolar disorder are able to live normal lives with proper treatment. ian may not never be 100 percent how he was before, but once his meds take effect (usually a few weeks) and they find a good dose/cocktail, his BPD won't need to be the focus of his life/storyline anymore.
ReplyDeletehope its gonna be better, I want him be part of this show but not like this anymore.
ReplyDeleteHi!! Thanks for this!!
ReplyDeleteDid you watch 5x12 yet? There are these people teasing a death at the end of the season. I don't believe it, I don't think it could be possible... but somehow I want someone confirming it that to me haha
I havent. I heard about that but I'm not sure, when I have in my next preview, if this happens to be so, I'll try to explain. Thanks for reading :)
ReplyDeletethanks for answering! in fact, the only people i've heard that are from anonymous users on imdb and they are all hinting at ian and mickey, because you know... it's easier to get a reaction out of that. do you think that could be possible? with the amount of fans these two have, how could the show survive without them?
ReplyDeleteThis makes me so worried now after seeing all the rumours of Cam leaving!
ReplyDeleteI believe those are just false rumors, and people are trying to scare "Ian and Mickey" fans. I don't think there's much truth to those spoilers, and after all this #Gallavich promotion, it would plain ridiculous to kill either Ian or Mickey so I would just laugh at those rumors. Also, Shanola has kind of confirmed that Ian doesn't die on Twitter a while in one of her interactions with Gotham fans, so there's no way that rumor is true, imo. Shameless hasn't even had that many deaths, luckily, but I'd say that if someone dies it's going to be Bianca, so no one really cares. (Unless something happens to Sammi).
ReplyDeleteI'm absolutely terrified of the thought of Ian leaving at the end of the series now, I think there's a possibility of him running away with Monica or even dying.. I really hope not :(
ReplyDeleteSo, I am slightly terrified now. Does one of the "not so much" endings have to do with Ian and Mickey possibly?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think the same. But personally I'm easily scared so these 14 days will be really complicated for me haha. I didn't read Shanola's tweet. Do you have a link? I'm more worried about Noel, tho. They keep on provoking people saying it's his last season and it drives me nuts.
ReplyDeleteI think it's more likely to be Frank. Not that he will die, but he will be in the middle of a life or death situation, probably provoked by Sammi herself...
I'm easily scared as well but the rumors about that spoilers are so ridic and stupid so that doesn't scare me at all, to be honest. I can't find Shanola's tweet right now but some Gotham fan was tweeting they wanna steal Cameron from Shameless, lol, and Shanola replied they still want him back, meaning Ian's not gonna die. Also, I doubt they need Cameron in Gotham in the second season or if they do maybe for an episode or two so I believe he won't leave and to be honest I believe that the whole main cast on Shameless right now (minus Sammi) is going to be on the show as long as it runs. I just don't see anyone leaving/ being written off. :) We all need a little positivity!
ReplyDeleteI don't think death has anything to do with the main characters, if someone dies it has to be Bianca. No one cares. But if death has something to do with Frank/ Sammi, I don't care either way. They will never kill Frank off anyway so..
Could Monica for once be a voice of reason for one of her struggling kids? I'm intrigued to see. I want Ian heavily involved in the finale though. Do you get the feeling he will be? Do you also get the feeling we'll get a gallagher clan all together in the finale, I've missed the togetherness, way too much gallivanting off alone this season. Uh what a heartbreaking last episode too. Thanks for the review again pre the ep, it leaves us happily salivating for the episode.
ReplyDeleteI'm still smarting from the lack of Lip/Ian broments but maybe the finale will bring some with Monica's timely return.
Thank you! Can't wait to know more about Ian's situation ;)
ReplyDeleteyes and no. I can't say more. thank you for reading :)
ReplyDeleteIf the events of this episode is anything, he should be heavily involved. I hope so because they all seem to be diverging into their own paths.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it truly was. Your absolutely welcome. I'm so glad many people enjoyed the episodes and my preview :)
Your welcome. Me too and with just one episode left I'm really intrigued as to what might happen.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he is, don't worry :) It doesn't seem as if he's leaving and Cameron did have an interview a few days ago saying that the Joker / Jerome may only show up again possibly in Season 3. Don't worry, if anything happens in 5x12 I'll let everyone know subtly :)
ReplyDeleteyour welcome. I don't think so, they have created one of the most unique relationships on TV between Ian and Mickey, I doubt they'd break that but I do think they'll be a struggle, whether this ends at the end of this current season is yet to be know.
ReplyDeleteI think its mainly because the Noel leaving rumours have now been addressed but the Cam ones haven't really :( I really cant see how hes going to get out of this prison thing either. Im worried he's gunna do a runner
ReplyDeleteall will be revealed by the end of the episode is all I can say.
ReplyDeleteEpisode 11 or 12? Sorry to bug you! Its just all making me so nervous. I cant handle another sad Finale for them both.
ReplyDeleteThese previews are great! Question: is the last paragraph before the teaser quotes talking about 511 or the finale? I thought it was referring to the finale but I see in comments you haven't seen 5x12 yet.
ReplyDeleteThank you :) It's for Episode 11, sorry for any confusion. I haven't seen it yet but the ending for 11 sets up 12. If this was the finale a lot of people wouldn't be that happy.
ReplyDeleteI really hope he's home by the end of ep 11. He so doesn't need any of this right now. They really need a moment just to be happy with no drama!
ReplyDeleteAnother great preview, Nirat :D <3 I love it ! At first I wasn't sure I was going to watch Episode 11 because I was too scared but now I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it. I really wish the best for Ian and his relationship with Mickey. Do you think that Ian and Mickey might end this season still together despite the obstacle they still have to overcome ? I have faith that their relationship can survive. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :) Glad out like it. Me too, I think that they can survive this, I hope they do. Story wise it seems good to show that people living with bipolar can be happy, its just the journey that's a struggle. Hopefully the season finale will be what we all want :) I have faith too. If Frank can survive, who says Gallavich can't too :)
ReplyDeleteI love your optimism :3 Even if the finale is not all that we want, I have faith that Ian and Mickey can end this season peacefully if not happy :) They haven't had a history of ending previous seasons on a good note but if there's that a chance they might end up okay this year, that will be good enough <3 I would be so happy and relieved.
ReplyDelete:) That's true. You and me both. When I get a chance to see the finale, I will definitely let you know if all is well :)
ReplyDeleteAwww thank you ! That would be very much appreciated ! <3 :D :)
ReplyDeleteNow is this not so much ending in 11 or 12?
ReplyDeleteThere were still images supposedly released for 512 today, can you confirm that they arent just from 511 https://36.media.tumblr.com/60e8f058d0e141c75a5ff93d7ded8c12/tumblr_nlojc1mLrQ1u5p4pio1_500.jpg https://41.media.tumblr.com/8002456304dec19f77993aea721299cb/tumblr_nlojc1mLrQ1u5p4pio5_1280.jpg THANKS!
ReplyDeleteTeaser Quotes:
ReplyDelete"Jesus keep your shirt on." (Words best spoken by Sean to Fiona not likely)
“He’s been acting crazy for longer than that.” (Debbie speaks but should be Fiona)
“We’re calling the police, you broke into his house.” (This one could be addressed either to the military or to Sammi who was never invitedinto the house that is not Frank's but Fiona's as she made the deal with her cousin)
“I didn’t know those words had a secret meaning.” ( Fiona to Gus about Touring)
“Family sucks ass!” (Deb to Derek's family)
“You want details?” (Kevin to V about lost weekend?)
“You should never apologise for being you.” (Monica to Ian)
“I know what you really want.” (Derek to Debbie?)
“Get your eyes checked.” (Fiona to Sammi)
“The f**** a girl like that doing with Frank anyway.” (V or Monica or anyone who knows Frank)
“B**** is in the basement.” (normally would be Carl but hoping it is Monica)
“What are we going to do about Sammi.” (Fiona as no one else would be so kind as to call her Sammi)
Now for the what are they thinking part of the preview. :
1 Ian was arrested for kidnapping and agreed to psych treatment at which point all outstanding warrants against him would have been found but none were.
2 Ian Gallagher never formally enlisted in the army as he was a minor and may still be.
3 As Sammi was squatting in Fiona's house without permission the Army was illegally in the residence and assaulted Mickey and Ian and kidnapped Ian who it has not been proven impersonated Lip.
4 the fact that Debbie was in the house when the MPs arrived makes their actions illegal as they did not actually speak to a legal resident of the premises upon arriving. plus one of them drew a weapon making this a felony kidnapping and assault.
and 5 Frank and Bianca to more interesting story as he is still married and I am thinking she could be bisexual but thought that was her girlfriend.
I am so scared that they are going to have Ian run off with Monica, thinking that he's a burden on his family and they would be better off without him! I would be devastated if they ended Ian and Mickey's storyline on a bad note again this year!
ReplyDeletethats what im afraid of
ReplyDeleteI agree. Sorry I can't really say.
ReplyDeleteGood guesses on the quotes but some of them aren't whom you've said :)
ReplyDeleteYou've got some good points which may not be addressed in the episode but you will get some answers. Thank you for reading.
I can say that these photos aren't on the Showtime / Shameless Press Site so I'm unsure of where they cam from. The Mickey photo seems new, I don't think thats in Ep 11 but I don't know about the Fiona one. Hope that helps :)
ReplyDeletethanks so much!!! but that screenshot has my stomach turning for the finale, there is only 1 person who can make mickey look worried like that, i wish they would just give these two a break and end the season happy, ian has been a punching bag all season for the writers.
ReplyDeleteyour welcome. sorry for the late reply. Mickey's face hurts me too, yeah your definitely right about that. I'm hoping they'll get some kind of happy ending or sorts, I'll let you know if they do in a subtle way ;)
ReplyDeleteit's in Episode 11 :)
ReplyDeleteYes but some were funny choices and some just guesses to go with my thoughts which are as much hit as miss. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteYour welcome :) Oh, thanks for sharing your guesses.
ReplyDeleteI think the family member that visits Ian is his mother, Monica, and the secret Ian reveals is that he didn't find out he had bipolar disorder at the same time his family and Mickey pieced it together. He learned of it a lot earlier than that, probably during Army training and I think that triggered his maniac theft of a helicopter and him going AWOL. It would also explain why he stayed over with Monica of all people for a time because she shared his illness.
ReplyDeleteInteresting theory, I can't say if its right or wrong but its not that big of a secret and is revealed over the episode. Though I do like your theory :)
ReplyDeleteI know you can't say or confirm anything but you said Ian's secret isn't // that big // or anything which leads me to assume based on your previous replies that Ian's secret is only that he's been in contact with Monica without anyone else knowing, and that will be revealed to the other Gallaghers and Mickey during the episode? Hmm. Is it Sunday yet because I'm dying over here!?
ReplyDeleteDoes Ian get more than 10 minutes of screentime?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for these advance previews! I was just wondering if you will be doing one for the season finale as well?
ReplyDeleteYour very welcome and thanks for reading :) I hope so, as soon as I receive a screener I'll have one done.
ReplyDeleteFrom the promotional pictures released it looks like they go visit Ian twice at the military prison...once with sean driving the other with mickey driving. Can you tell us if they infact do go see him twice, or is one just a deleted scene, they have done that alot this year, release images of deleted scenes, its very frustrating lol
ReplyDeleteGood spot :) Yes and they will not be deleted.
ReplyDeleteYour so awesome, thank you for responding!!!
ReplyDeleteyour welcome :) so are you!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about Ian's secret and I think its going to be revealed that Mickey is the reason the bipolar disorder manifested. You gotta remember Mickey caused Ian A LOT of pain in season 3 which ultimately led to Ian leaving for the army (especially when he married Svetlana and Terry walked in on them). This would mean that Ian knew he was bipolar the whole time but failed to get treatment or tell his family.
ReplyDeleteIm not saying it's Mickeys fault that Ian has bipolar disorder (that's genetics fault), I'm saying that the stress Mickey put him through might have been what triggered the disorder to start from its dormant state. Yes, I do realize it would have happened eventually anyway. its just a theory...
All I really want is for Ian and Mickey to have somewhat of a happy ending. I'm tired of their happiness lasting only 5 minutes at a time before all hell breaks loose.
ReplyDelete
