    Crossing my fingers they take a page out of the 100 and they go the non predictable rute and finally kill Francis so Mary can become who she's meant to.

    Exactly! I don't want this show to be canceled without any actual development besides soapy love triangles, and for that to happen she needs to get out of France and to Scotland. Unfortunately as long as Francis is alive that won't happen, and for what? the blandest romance ever seen on TV?
    Yeah... He's got to go before I start taking this show seriously again.

    I doubt they will kill Francis at this point. They are afraid of loosing their remaining viewers.
    Think Francis will die during the middle of season 3 and atvthat point madness should start at the French court.
    But again who knows with these writers.

    Eventually, Monde will dissipate. Just hold on because we have to see what the show has in store.


    But either way, they can only keep Francis alive for so long and prevent time from moving slowly as it did this season.

    I don't see how Catherine thinks Francis dying is caused by heartbreak over Mary? Francis has an ear infection not a heart attack.


    The way I see it Mary chooses to stay with Francis and pushes Conde to Elizabeth, but Francis dies later in this season. The title 'Tempting fate" suggests that he won't die just yet. So I'd say the season finale from the ear infection thing.
    I can't shake the idea that someone is poisoning him though. If so I believe it's Narcisse, as he's been getting far to close to Catherine because like Catherine said she'd be Queen Regent until her sons are ready, in which time Narcisse will have power through her. She's scared so she might give him power for help.

    It is sad that women treat each other like this. Women calling other women names. Men has done this for millennium but when a woman follows her heart she is a *insert offensive name here* Women, you should be smarter than that! Oh by the way, I thought it was good episode :)

    Yes! Mary as the King ! Now she's aware of Francis condition, she can't leave... I believe Mary still loves her husband.

    ps. Can Conde get on with Elizabeth? I feel this is the time for him to leave/die/betray all of them. Thanks

    Yes, let Conde go somewhere else. In real life, he was suspected of being behind a plot to kidnap Francis. If they want to be historically accurate, I don't believe Mary would have been with him to begin with as Francis and Mary were said to have been very happy together until his death. This Mary is untolerable.

    If it only was just Conde... I don't really mind the character, just the fact that they used a rape storyline to graduate him into a love triangle. That, is highly disturbing... I don't want to know how those writers minds work...
    Still, the thing is I don't think it will survive it's third season, and I don't want this to end as a historical soap opera, because at this point that's exactly what it is. It could be much more if they just let go of doomed storylines and move on onto greater things, like history dictates.

    It's so sad how much producers/writers/creators fear their fandoms nowadays... I know I sound extremely old, I'm not. I'm just not a teenager, and I remember how during my teen years I used to watch shows where they were able to follow their vission. Social media has taken that away, from those weakminded producers/writers/creators of course. I know there are some that still follow through their vission as it was meant to be.

    Sadly there is a lot of truth behind your post. Especially within Reign.
    The writers made a couple of mistakes while planning out S02 and in the center of it is keeping Francis alive.
    Even though I have to say that till midseason the show was going quite strong and that from that point things went south.

    Oh god I hope you're right! I haven't watch the episode, but has it been confirmed it's an ear infection? because in real life he died of a brain abcess as a result from an ear infection, so there's hope.

    Someone has to go for Elizabeth's character and her people be seen in s3, In crossing my fingers for it to will be Francis and then give a heartbreaking episode and then give me the series i was expecting since season one. the White Queen quality but we are too late for that.

    Like I've said through my past posts, things will get worse before it gets better. Mary is at the crossroads where her heart is conflicted and her mind is confused. If Francis' mortality is what gonna bring Mary back in his arms then so be it. This will ultimately test Conde and see where he will truly align.

    And besides, even before Mary's rape, Conde has been gearing up to be her love interests since the beginning of the season of this really great historical fiction costume period soap.

    She's already well on her way to becoming who she's meant to be and people are ignoring that because Francis is a good looking guy and she dares to fall in love with someone else. Mary is someone who moves before she thinks and its what gets her killed. Frary were never gonna be endgame because Francis was always going to die and the sooner it happens, the sooner the storyline will move along.

    If that means so whiny little fangirls stop watching, then so be it. They clearly weren't watching for what the show is. Yes, it revolves around a lot of relationships with its storylines but thats a part of life, as long as the main focus is Mary, which it is, then we're getting what we were promised.     If they want their fans back , Francis needs to live. Why cant they let him live, Mary chooses Francis, Conde gets angry and marries Elizabeth and we can have a nice feud between the two Kings and Queens! Just my opinion or thoughts but the way it is, is hard to watch now. And I know for a fact many feel as I do.

    If they go by the REAL history, and they have been so far.... Francis will die of an illness and Mary will return to Scotland the summer after.
    King henry died in a Jousting accident with a mortal head wound, same as the show but they had Francis kill him. Francis and marry were only married for 18 months before he died...Viewers will have to get over it lol this tv show is based on REAL HISTORY.

    I know this is based on real history, but am I the only one who secretly hopes they'll turn it around? Mary and Francis were so cute together when they were just married. The whole Condè thing doesn't feel right, since it's probably him trying to drag Mary into Scotland for Ellizabeth. I have a feeling Condè's gonna betray her. big time. And I don't know the full history, but yeah.
    Part of me hopes they'll surprise us all by altering it. And I KNOW, I know, that will mean the story isn't the true story anymore, but by god.

    depends on what they'd do.. I'd be ok with it if they went totally off script and not only didn't go the true story route but kept Francis alive as well... but then people would be all up in arms about it

    HOnestly, Mary and Francis should have never been married. Look at what its done to threm. Just as predicted, this marriage-union- would be the end of them. Both characters are weaker together and stronger apart.

    Francis spends more time worrying about winning Mary's favor and lovethan his own country,. When was the last time he did something tobetter the lives of his subjects? When was the last time he has showon assertiveness and authority to his nobles? When was the last time we seen him act like a King? A man who knows, respects and fights for his kingdom, not his wife's approval. I feel like the only time we get to see Francis do something, its only for Mary, but not for his family (his son and younger brothers) or crown. I honestly don't want francis to die. He has a son who needs him, a family who supports him (Catherine and his brothers) and a kingdom to secure; he doesn't need to waste anymore time with Mary. He has so much potential in his character,. We just need to get Frary out the way to unlock it.

    As for Mary, i am glad that we are getting our queen back. It's about time that she starts fighting for her inner courage and use it to help Scotland. THough, i am not so sure staying in France will help her achieve that. People spend more time #fightingforfrary, than rooting for #MaryQueenofScots. It's time for her to move (literally) out of France and Francis shadow. I hope tha by the end of this episode, she will leave France and go to Scotland. She has a brother who needs her, a mother who is sick and dying, and a nation literally- at war.

    It's time for these tow to start focusing on their kingdoms and their rule. Leave the romance stuff for the minor characters. It is clear to me that these two are better apart than together. And i can't wait to see if them become the King of France and the Queen of Scotland like they were meant to be.

    Actually she's meant to become a widow and go back to Scotland and eventually be beheaded by her cousin. I don't know why take names from historical characters if you're just going to do whatever you want.
    That said I wouldn't be surprised if he lives now only to be killed next season for shock value. They said they eventualy would, so come to peace with it and enjoy it while it lasts, I'm just hoping they don't wait until it's cancelled and kill him off in the last episode, leaving the rest up in the air.
    And God no! I do not want her with Conde! If I had to choose between the two, I would go with Francis no matter how boring and bland their romance is.
