I know everyone hates Mary and Conde together but I love it. Frances is an idiot and Conde is really gentle and attentive. Plus he isn't bad to look at.
WTH? Every decision Francis made was because of her. Everything he did, it was for her. Yes, I felt he could have done some things a bit better but she is at fault for killing Narcisse's son! Francis never would have been blackmailed by Narcisse if Mary didn't give him a reason to, that's her fault, she put her husband in that situation! Francis has told her the truth, he's apologized, he's given her time, he's done everything and she still treats him like crap? Okay from the summary of the episode after this, Francis becomes ill and if that doesn't reunite Frary, I don't know what will.
Mary is totally mad! Is she really asking Francis to grant her freedom to be with another man? In that century? Madness. I'm so happy Francis is with a lover in the promo but I think it doesn't work.
I really hope that the reason why Francis and Mary reunite in the end is because he becomes ill and she is worried he might die otherwise I can't find a better reason for Maty to leave Conde and reunite with his husband..
I dont think Conde is going to make it past the season finale. I'm intrigued by the whole Mary/Conde/Elizabeth scenario which I think might be the major factor in his demise along with his brother's scheming. Mary and Francis will be back together eventually. But I do love Conde and Mary and I'm glad the writers arent just writing sappy lovey dovey crap to appease the 'Frary' shippers.
So here's what I take from this promo for two weeks from now. Mary has gotten past her rape issues and is stupid enough to ask for Francis approval to sleep with Conde. He obvious says no but she does anyway. Francis tries to sleep with another but can't go through with it. Kenna is going to cheat on Bash. And, according to show synopsis, Francis will fall deathly ill by episode end. Knew that Francis was going to get sick, but had really hoped that the current writers had remembered some of his and Mary's history and love from last season and the start of this season, and at least shown him a little happy before his death. Really hate where they have taken this show. Wish Catherine would wake up and see the pain that Bash and Francis are going thru, and due what the old Catherine did best,Revenge.
Yes Francis tried to save and protect Mary. The point is, while his intentions were well, he ultimately failed. He failed to protect her and ultimately trust her. He should've told her immediately what was going on. If he had, the threat would have still been there, but far more easier to handle with her by his side getting rid of Narcisse. But, like i said, he failed in doing so. He let his pride get in the way of doing the right thing. Had he included Mary in his plan to get rid of the blackmail and just simply let here be there for him- this all could have been over before Mary's assault.
Also, its pretty clear to me that the reason Conde sleeps with married women is to avoid attachment and the influence of his brother (a known adulteror). While he did follow in his brother's footsteps, he has broken out of them. He has fallen in love with Mary, not because she is married, but because she makes him a better man than his own brother can. She encouraged him to be a leader when he proclaimed himself to be a protestant (despite the fact that protestant= death in those times) (2x07). She challenged him to move past his selfish ways when he had that woman shipped off to another country so he could help the crown avoid further conflict with nobles (episode 2x04). He even refused to seduce Mary when his brother wanted him to (2x11).
Conde loves Mary. Yes, he came into the show with questionable actions (sleeping with married women, living selfishly and initially serving as a spy), but all that changed when he began to love Mary.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteThis promo is so much better than the one CW does, this would maybe big maybe even attract viewers back.

Too bad he's gonna betray her...
