About the Daily Ratings
Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above (We also where possible now post the 18-34 and 25-54 Demo Numbers).
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.

CBS seems abnormally low.
ReplyDeleteFinally ratings. Everything is down today or is it just me? I can't even get to showbuzz daily to see half hours.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, bad night overall!
Winners: The Voice, Dancing with the Stars
Honorable Mention: Scorpion, 2 Broke Girls, Mike and Molly
Losers: The Night Shift, The Following
Still great for Scorpion but I hope it adjusts up.

ReplyDeleteI was hoping Scorpion would inch up since it is the first time in ages they are actually airing two new episodes in consecutive weeks and since last week's episode was so good. Hopefully it adjusts up.
ReplyDeleteYes, everything is down.
ReplyDeleteShowbuzz is loading fine for me.
ReplyDeletethe only thing up week to week is DWTS
ReplyDeleteHere are the half hours: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Daily-Comp-3way-2015-MON.30-Mar-e1427814078673.png
ReplyDeleteAlready?
ReplyDeleteThe Voice and DWTS seem stable, CBS is low and everything else is normally low. Weak night overall.
The Night Shift will adjust down 1-2 tenths. It's time for NBC to figure something else out for the slot.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am getting an error message when I try to get there, strange! Thanks
ReplyDeleteNo, Castle (if it holds) is actually 0.1 up from last week:)
ReplyDeleteThere are like 7 weeks left of regular season and they would need at least 1-2 to promote whatever would be going there. I doubt they will mind for just 5 weeks at this point. And I don't think they have anything they could plug in there now. One of the summer shows, yeah, but I think it would break their summer schedule and that they are better utilized there honestly.
ReplyDeleteSorry, my comment was confusing. When I said everything was down I actually meant rating sites (showbuzzdaily, no Marc analysis, no top25), not the actual ratings :P Sorry about that!
ReplyDeleteWhere I can find comedy central ratings?
ReplyDeleteAlready what?
ReplyDeleteI think he means the opposite
ReplyDeleteYes CBS seems low. The Following is done and at least Castle stayed same in demo. The Night Shift even with Voice lead in is really lagging. NBC sure does need to figure out what will work with The Voice
ReplyDeleteNo worries, I was joking:)
ReplyDeleteCastle is doing well. The ratings are down verses last season but it seems to have stabilized in at the 8 million viewers mark and 1.4/1.5 mark in the demo.
ReplyDeleteIf ABC renew the series the 8th season will more than likley be the last.
I think he means the ratings are up early. Not very difficult to figure out.
ReplyDeleteCable ratings will be released later today, although we don't post Comedy Central's.
ReplyDeleteRatings are not up early. They get posted as this exact same time every day.
ReplyDeleteI agree that, at this point, NBC probably won't pull The Night Shift because they have bigger holes to deal with (Thursday 10pm now that the Slap is over), even though TNS is currently performing about as well as a CPD or Blacklist REPEAT.
ReplyDeleteI kinda want to see them try the final 5 episodes of TMOL on Monday just to see what would happen. It probably wouldn't fare any worse than TNS.
It seems about right. Monday night is catching up to Tuesday-Thursday nights now.
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that Marc is Jewish? Not sure if that is 100% true, but Passover starts tomorrow (more accurately sundown tonight) which might be way he has no analysis
ReplyDeleteAnd I forgot to mention how awful TNS's retention is.
ReplyDeleteI want more Castle too. And if we get 10 seasons, even better.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I was just asking because I'm not practical about how these things work.
ReplyDeleteThanks again, you're very kind!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. I am happy to help :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, 0.2–0.3 is a little low but not uncommon, but 0.1–0.2 with those viewer numbers is pretty bad. Guess that's spring for you.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Chicago PD or Blacklist repeats would perform better than The Night Shift honestly. To be honest, I am bit more inclined to judge the performance of the night shift slightly more positive since last week's tuesday airing. While not a good result by any means, that 1.0 at 10pm from the 1.2 One Big Happy at least showed that this show is stronger than Allegiance or The Slap and on par with Laura. It's just that it appears to have a very limited ceiling of people who are interested in it which results in it not benefiting from The Voice.
ReplyDeleteYes, I was talking about the ratings. And I guess DST hit me too, I'd swear they were posted like an hour later. My bad.
ReplyDeleteI want lost more Castle. If Season 8 is gonna be the last I would be fine with that, but if we hit season 9 or 10 I would be over the moon!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'd agree that The Night Shift has a very limited audience, no matter what. It has aired after AGT's 12 million viewers, The Voice's 16 (!) million viewers and One BIg Happy's 4 million viewers and its audience remains virtually the same.
ReplyDeleteThey did. TBL.
ReplyDeletei was getying an error message when tried enter stv.
ReplyDeletealmost had a nervous break in the last half hours.
Didnt DWTS get a 2.1?
ReplyDeleteNBC probably won't replace TNS with repeats, because that would mean they would have regularly scheduled repeats for about 7-8 hours per week, which is already excessive.
ReplyDeleteBut TNS's performance isn't any better than CPD and TBL repeats (which have scored between 1.0-1.3 without huge lead-ins).
That said, aren't you curious what TMOL could do behind the Voice? That's a move I'd be interested to see.
0.1 is low. As SGU said, they were getting 0.3 mostly.

Oh JTV got 0.1, my bad I thought it got 0.2 as well.
ReplyDeleteSad for The Following, was a really really good episode!
ReplyDeleteFirst time Scorpion does under 2,0. Finally the breaks and bad promotion are taking it's tool on the show. Hopefully they'll bounce back with the last 2 eps.
Didn't Scorpion hit 1.9 once before?
ReplyDeleteJust checked. Yes they did once. For the Talismans episode.
ReplyDeleteI thought it didn't.
Hopefully it will adjust up
ReplyDeleteI think it will.
ReplyDeleteBut either way the show needs to be better promoted. Especially this early season finale.
ugh LA :(
ReplyDeleteSteady for Castle.
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't realize Castle was down last week. Are they really off for three weeks?
