The analysis below is based on the early household numbers and are NOT the same as the numbers that will be posted in the above table later. (See the About section below)
NOTE: The opinions expressed here are NOT those of SpoilerTV but of the Author of this Article, Marc Berman.
Sunday 3/29/15 Metered Markets
Household
Rating/Share
CBS 7.7/13
NBC 3.4/ 6
ABC 3.2/ 5
Fox 1.6/ 3
-Percent Change from the Year-Ago Oscar Evening – Sunday 3/30/14:
NBC: +31, CBS: – 7, ABC: -24, Fox: -33
———-
Note: The following labels are based on the household overnights and are subject to change given the availability of other pending data streams. The overnights are your first look at what to potentially expect when the other results come in. And we always take into account other benchmarks including the expected demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence. Keep in mind, as always, that results for any live sporting event are always approximate.
-Solid in Total Viewers:
“60 Minutes” (CBS), “Madam Secretary” (CBS)
-Losers (excluding repeats):
“Revenge” (ABC), “Battle Creek” (CBS)
———-
Ratings Breakdown:
Note: The regularly scheduled Sunday line-up on CBS began at 7:15 p.m. on the East Coast due to an NCAA Basketball primetime overrun. All individual series results for CBS are, therefore, estimated.
The 15-minute basketball overrun on the Eye net scored a 12.8 rating/23 share in the household overnights from 7-7:15 p.m., leading into granddaddy “60 Minutes” at 9.7/16 from 7:15-8:15 p.m. Next was “Madam Secretary” at an 8.1/13 from 8:15-9:15 p.m., which remains solid in total viewers thanks to the support of the 50+ crowd. And that led into critically acclaimed “The Good Wife,” also older skewing, at a 6.5/10 from 9:15-10:15 p.m., followed by doomed recent entry “Battle Creek” at 4.2/7 from 10:15-11:15 p.m., which trailed “The Mentalist” on the year-ago evening (6.4/11 on 3/30/14) by 34 percent.
Although “Battle Creek” slipped by 35 percent from lead-in “The Good Wife,” CBS still finished first in the overnights in each of the eight half-hours last night. The obstacle, however, remains attracting the coveted younger demographics on the evening.
On NBC, annual the ‘iHeart Radio Music Awards” scored a 3/9 6 in the overnights from 8-11 p.m., which was an eight percent increase from last year’s telecast on NBC (on Thursday 5/01/14). And this should be more than enough for the Peacock net to dominate the time period in adults 18-49 nationally.
Earlier in the evening on NBC was an encore telecast of “The Voice” at a 1.9/ 3 (#3) from 7-8 p.m.
On ABC, week five of drama “Secrets & Lies” dipped to a series-low 3.4/ 5 (#3) at 9 p.m., which was six percent below the 3.6/ 5 one week earlier. And that 3.6 in the household overnights translated into a 1.5 rating/4 share in adults 18-49 (out of a 1.9/ 6 for lead-in “Once Upon a Time”), based on the Live Plus Same Day data. In other words, “Secrets & Lies” remains on the fence.
Next on ABC was sinking “Revenge” at a last-place 3.0/ 5 at 10 p.m., which should translate into about a 1.1 rating in adults 18-49. In other words, “Revenge” needs to end. And earlier in the evening on ABC was a repeat of veteran “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (#3: 3.3/ 6 at 7 p.m.) into “Once Upon a Time” at a below-average 3.3/ 5 from 8-9 p.m. (#3), which will probably equal about a 1.8 rating in the demo.
On Fox, two more episodes of sitcom “The Last Man on Earth” slipped to an average 2.1/ 3 in the overnights from 9-10 p.m., which was 22 percent below the 2.7/ 4 for two episodes one week earlier. But that 2.1/ 3 was still 24 percent above the 1.7/ 3 for the repeat of lead-in “Family Guy” at 8:30 p.m.
Also on Fox were encores of “The Simpsons” (#4: 1.1/ 2), “Bob’s Burgers” (#4: 1.0/ 2) and “The Simpsons” (#4: 1.5/ 2) from 7-8:30 p.m.

OUAT is really sinking.
ReplyDeleteNo OUAT pls stop :(
ReplyDeleteWow! Only 3,3 for ONCE. Terrible for one of the seasons best eps.
ReplyDeleteHoping it keeps its demo numbers around 1.8-2
Woah once what's happening it keeps sinking
ReplyDeleteBoy, Walking Dead + repeats lead-ins really hurt Last Man on Earth;
ReplyDeleteOUAT didn't do well, CBS did the same low ratings and iHeartRadio did even better without Idol, NBC will renew it for another five years.
Why did FOX even air LMOE last night? If I am not mistaken, hadn't they aired it last night and even missing Easter Sunday they could finish it on the last Sunday of May Sweeps with a one hour finale and do single episodes until then. I guess they didn't want the two week break for the newbie but this wasn't a good idea either imo.Let's hope it bounces back with The Walking Dead out of the picture. I was marathoning the last 4 or so episodes last night and got officially hooked to it.
ReplyDeleteIt was up last week, so even if it declines how is that "keep sinking"?
ReplyDeleteSo revenge probably steady? That is all I asked for!
ReplyDeleteABC steadish,LMOE doing good as FOX is treating the show as a crap.
ReplyDeleteI really want secrets and lies 5o stay steady. I really enjoy the show!
ReplyDeleteIts probably getting 1.4
ReplyDeleteHoping that revenge didn't fall below a 1
ReplyDeleteWithout Ryan I probably won't enjoy next season anyway so I'm not bothered about it's ratings.
ReplyDeleteSecrets & Lies and Revenge are very steady with last week. OUAT and LMOE look down but just a little. CBS doing terrible as usual. iHeartRadio Music Awards and Walking Dead won the night.
ReplyDeletelol can I panic now? S5 isnt much sure anymore counting the break will make slip even more next time
ReplyDeleteHopefully revenge does not go below 1.0 again
ReplyDeleteNo, you cannot. Once Upon a Time is 100000000% certain to be renewed. Enough is enough, the show will be back.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you finally started watching it ;)
ReplyDeleteThe Walking Dead probably demolished everything in its path last night. I thought the finale was outstanding and the the extra time really helped it show things better and contributed to a more satisfactory pace for the episode. FOX in particular was foolish for airing such a male skewing show like The Last Man on Earth against such an even thing like the walking dead finale.
ReplyDeleteDo you think ABC should push OUAT to 9pm(Secrets and Lies coming in the slot in the break) and try to get a some other show in 8pm, OUAT is sinking and cant be the anchor anymore sadly.
ReplyDeleteI already caught up! I am so excited for last night's episode since i still have to watch it
ReplyDeleteOnce Upon a Time is ABC's 4th highest rated drama and the number 1 drama outisde of TGIT. It that doesn't give it anchor status, then nothing on ABC has it. The show is fine. People are vastly overreacting.
ReplyDeleteYes he does! He doesn't look like he's 40, he looks like he's 25. That's the most attractive thing about him.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. Didn't read those interviews.
ReplyDeleteQuiet sad about as he is a good lead and Juliette really annoying.
I still think they should move it out of Sundays, but I agree with you. It still does a good job rating wise.
ReplyDeleteAgree it deserved more
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't put too much stock into what has been said about a potential Season 2. I don't think anyone really thought that much about how a potential Season 2 would look like. Maybe there was a vague idea about it being another crime with Cornell investigating but I could see ABC opting to go all anthology like AHS and simply doing a new crime without any continuity and thus allowing for the actors to come back with different characters. Ryan could be convinced (aka given enough money) to return in that case. We shall see.
ReplyDeleteI am kinda of getting tired of people saying/thinking/worrying every week that OUAT will get cancelled.
ReplyDeleteRevenge promo looked good but the OUAT promo looked straight out incredible. Secrets and Lies also had an excellent promo.
ReplyDeleteTuesdays probably, with putting Shiled also on a move. Don't know if it would really benefit from the move, not that good into the ratings "game".
ReplyDeleteI hope that does happen, Ryan seemed pretty certain though, he also heavily expressed the fact that he was happy he could just do his season and move on to other work. The amount of money ABC might need to throw at him may not be worth it given it's ratings. All assuming it even gets renewed ofc
ReplyDeleteI think it stayed steady, well i hope at least. How was it last night?
ReplyDeleteI saw the OUAT promo like a thousand times while catching up with secrets and lies
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty good. Emily did a daring thing last night while Louise announced a shocking twist to Nolan.
ReplyDeleteIt was really good. That's all I'm going to say cause I don't want to spoil it for u
ReplyDeleteYh, it's down but far from out.
ReplyDeletethen I wont post anymore I will only check.
ReplyDeleteHe is really hot
ReplyDeleteNot a fan. Really not! I like the actress on other shows but here she is just written really bad.
ReplyDeleteThat line between tough and annoying was really crossed with her. Maybe with another role she will be more tolerable, cop work doesn't suits her.
2I know Once it's getting renewed, but at least it remained above 2.0. Although, it looks stable, 1.8-1.9.
ReplyDeleteOnce Upon a Time is doing perfectly fine. Its still doing really well and even though it is not as strong as it used to be its still getting respectable ratings and numbers.
ReplyDeleteRevenge doesnt need to end!! Not this season anyways. They need at least one last season for closure!!
ReplyDeleteWhat's there to close? They're running around in circles.
ReplyDeleteWell at least lovestory they do!! They cannot finish the series without Jack and Emily staying together!!
ReplyDeleteBecause they have such a great chemistry.
ReplyDeleteYou can tell Marc really likes Madam Secretary. "Solid in total viewers" for it while other shows get in the loser line.
ReplyDeleteI hope TGW stays at 1.0 or above *high hopes*
ReplyDeleteHe does the same with Laura.
ReplyDeleteRevenge ratings what are they
ReplyDeleteJack and Emily?? She is his kryptonite or glass of scotch, not a healthy relationship. Not to mention that Jack is nowhere near as smart as she is.
ReplyDeleteHaven't been released yet. Will be released in just under an hour.
ReplyDeleteI think the were expecting a bomb, and have done burnoffy scheduling accordingly. Why they did not alter this, I don't know. Perhaps they really want to bring Bob's Burgers back to 9:30?
ReplyDeleteRevenge ratings aren't their
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I'm defending Marc but he bases his winners + losers in his newsletter on HHs. Madam Secretary did very well in households so it is no surprise that he does not label it as a loser. He readjusts the winners + losers when demo numbers come in.
ReplyDeleteSo i hope 1.2-1.4 otherwise show in big trouble
ReplyDeleteShe told hole of Hampton's she Amanda Clarke that should boast ratings right.
ReplyDeleteNone are there. They are still coming. People are commenting after reading marc's analysis
ReplyDeleteMarc Berman posts early household numbers which mostly reflects on the viewership.
ReplyDeleteHow he know this or where get info
ReplyDeleteThey never seemed to care about Bob's Burgers, so why would they now? I don't understand it.
ReplyDeleteYou should not reveal spoilers like that in the comment section. Please erase it.
ReplyDeleteIt their fault if haven't watched episode come to these sites asking for it.
ReplyDeleteHe gets sent them from Nielsen
ReplyDeleteI couldn't care if revenge ends this season or gets cancelled as story run it corse OUAT will end next season or two.
ReplyDeleteDid you read the explanation of the ratings at the top of the article?
ReplyDeleteNo, it is not. This is the ratings section, one doesn't need to have watched the episodes to be able to comment and see the ratings. There are episode discussion threads for things like that.
ReplyDeleteNice to see you are back :)
ReplyDeleteThe current ratings don't warrant another season.
ReplyDeleteAgents of Shield skews male though while OUAT is a mixed bag demo-wise. Not sure if OUAT as a lead-in would help give AOTS that much needed boost.
ReplyDeleteNowadays, not only ratings matter, but yes it is true what you said
ReplyDeleteBut everyone comes here has already or should have seen epidote wasn't much tell ending was best part so 1 hour of episode till important moment.
ReplyDelete65% of Once Upon a Time's audience are females.
ReplyDeleteWell they kinda have good DVR ratings and sometimes they see that
ReplyDeleteOfficial ratings aren't in does are estimates as far i can tell
ReplyDeleteOh right if revenge gets 1.4 or higher it get renewed for short season not expecting it though.
ReplyDeleteThey aren't good at all but they aren't as awful as people make them sound like. Last week they were 0.3 from Castle in a much worse slot and that one tends to be considered a fairly safe renewal, just to point an example that puts things in perspective. They are bad, yes, but people exaggerate how bad they are in the relative context (which is what matters).
ReplyDeleteI guess no top 25 :/
ReplyDeleteTOP 25 Numbers are now being entered.
ReplyDeletePlease refresh for updates
So no spoilers are allowed ill delete comment so.
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
ReplyDeleteLOL my comment
ReplyDeleteGood timing ;)
ReplyDeleteYeah :D
ReplyDeletereally took your time getting them published
ReplyDeleteThank you for understanding.
ReplyDeleteIf only you had waited one minute later...:)
ReplyDeleteYes for Secrets and Lies,I thought it would go lower.
ReplyDeleteThey have only just been released. So not sure what you are referring to? You seem a little confused about how things work
ReplyDeleteI think he's new here
ReplyDeleteI think it gone sorry if spoiled for you do like revenge
ReplyDeleteLol when i saw that 0.7 i thought it was for revenge
ReplyDeleteLooks like it :)
ReplyDeletestill not seeing ratings
ReplyDeleteFor now Ratings in Top25,not the final
ReplyDeleteMadam Secretary 1.4
The Good Wife 1.1
Battle Creek 0.7
Secrets and Lies 1.4

Ikr I got so scared thinking that 0.7 was for revenge lol
ReplyDeleteGood for OUAT,Revenge being this steady and even improving on the fall ratings is not what I expected.
ReplyDeleteDoes it have a 1.2?!
ReplyDeleteThat should be a 1.3 for Secrets and Lies, maybe a 1.4 if we get really lucky. No OUAT or Revenge?
ReplyDeleteYep, hence the "mixed bag".
ReplyDeleteNot yet
ReplyDeleteslow i thought revenge was 0.7 at first
ReplyDelete1.8 for Ouat
ReplyDelete1.1 Revenge
Me too :D
ReplyDeleteOUAT and Revenge top 25s are there? 1.8/1.1
ReplyDeleteIt got 1.1 in TOP25
ReplyDeleteThanks! It is not showing up for me!
ReplyDeleteFor me either
ReplyDeleteThanks. It wasn't working for me. I get huge delays sometime with these.
ReplyDeleteHopefully it keeps it! But it will probably get a 1.1
ReplyDeleteRevenge has a 1.1
ReplyDeleteTop 25 actually looks like S&L and OUAT held up nicely
ReplyDeleteHa, no problem. Google sheets does often take a little while to update.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking that revenge will translate into a 1.0
ReplyDeleteI said move Shield as well. Maybe to Wednesday 10pm. But who knows, I'm just shooting blinds here. ^_^
ReplyDeleteABC has the right people to resolve this or keep it the same.
revenge 1.1 terrible but it do
ReplyDeleteFor the people who still cant see the ratings
ReplyDeleteLMOE:1.4 and 1.3
iHeartRadioMusicAwards 2.0 2.0 and 2.0
Good point, good point. Once did drop a little at 9 against Dead in its 2 hour event last fall, but it wasn't a ton.
ReplyDeleteI didn't actually realized I replied to 2 of your comments here. I promise I'm not trying to single you out.
I know
ReplyDelete1.1
ReplyDeleteYikes at LMOE.
ReplyDeleteThat's top 25. Read the description
ReplyDeleteRevenge pls pls keep that 1.1 and how did the I heart radio music awards rate that High?!
ReplyDelete1.1 not 1.0 or 0.7
ReplyDeletePredictable, given TWD.
ReplyDeleteThese stupid moves can kill the show. FOX could wait till the next week.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that final rating
ReplyDeleteLooks like iHeartRadio will be the only thing to beat OUAT
ReplyDeleteSo what is it
ReplyDeletepls revenge do not get a 0.9 or i will cry
ReplyDeleteShow coming end this season so who cares
ReplyDeleteFOX's scheduling (particularly for its Sunday shows) has been awful all season. It's like they're trying to kill their shows.
ReplyDeleteThat's just the top 25. The real ratings haven't came out yet
ReplyDeleteRevenge never fell that much from Top25.
ReplyDeleteGuesses based exclusively on top 25 numbers:
ReplyDelete- Once Upon a Time: 1.7-1.8
- Secrets and Lies: 1.3
- Revenge: 0.9-1.0
- Madam Secretary: 1.3-1.4
- The Good Wife: 0.9-1.0
- Battle Creek: 0.7
- The Last Man on Earth: 1.2-1.4
Maybe its fans?
ReplyDeleteOne time it Fell from 1.2 to 0.9 so everything is possible :/
ReplyDeleteiM A FAN I WANT SHOW END
ReplyDeleteHe is a huge Fan actually
ReplyDeleteRevenge typically holds ~87% of its top25 numbers so it can conceivably do a 0.9
ReplyDeleteRobert, there are descriptions/help at the top of the page.
ReplyDeletePlease read those to better understand things.
The numbers posted are TOP 25 Market numbers.
HA REALLY out fans crying now third week of bad ratings abc will cancel if keeps doing it
ReplyDeleteRevenge better not hit tgat 0.9
ReplyDeleteDST has finally hit Europe and it's so awkward to get these one hours later now than during the previous three(four?) weeks...
ReplyDeleteSame feeling lol
ReplyDeleteok thanks so it rank in each part of US
ReplyDeleteYou live in Europe?
ReplyDeleteshouldn't post all at once
ReplyDeleteI do, why?
ReplyDeleteIt started the day I was celebrating my 18th birthday(1st April is my real, fools day -.-)
ReplyDeleteIkr, last night I was all ready to download OUAT at 1AM, then realised the clocks went forward and had to wait another hour :/
ReplyDeleteOh I just thought you lived in the US. Just curious :) Sorry
ReplyDeleteNo worries ;)
ReplyDeleteBut for how many more season so much before show dies gets boring lose quality 5 season plenty for a show heck even 4 good
ReplyDeleteThey are released at different times.
ReplyDeleteso it wont be till end of day before we see full ratings
ReplyDeleteAnd I wish OUAT would get back into the 2s already! Grr
ReplyDeleteSeriously, why won't you read the description?? I've even copy pasted it to you!
ReplyDeleteEaster
ReplyDeleteIf LMoE hits 1.2 it'll have halved its demo since the premiere. That's quite a drop.
ReplyDeleteThey could take this week and the next one off and still finish the show within May Sweeps with a one hour finale.
ReplyDeleteIKR I enjoyed it getting them an hour earlier
ReplyDeleteThe circumstances were extraordinarily unfavorable last night, I wouldn't put much stock into it.
ReplyDeleteSo annyoing!
ReplyDeleteIts just shocking that in my country there is only 1 original series airing(a comedy, everything else picked up series from Spain,India and Turkey-soaps),people in the USA really have what to watch.
ReplyDeleteWere copy and paste
ReplyDeleteWhen did you become so pessimistic?
ReplyDeleteHm?
ReplyDeleteLMOE top 25 numbers look worrying. I hope it rebounds since Walking Dead is over, even though I don't watch it.
ReplyDeleteYes, very true. I really don't know what FOX was thinking putting it on last night.
ReplyDeletethe link you sent me for description
ReplyDeleteFOX has been scheduling Sundays in an absolutely atrocious way all season long, I don't think a child could do it worse than they've done
ReplyDeleteYou have to count IHearts too, looks like it skewed very young like LMOE does.
ReplyDeleteDon't even get me started with german television :D
ReplyDeleteWeren't u the one who wanted revenge to get renewed for a full season?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I hope Game Of Thrones and Bible AD don't hurt LMOE and S&L too much in two weeks time.
ReplyDeleteHa yes. I don't understand anything FOX have done on Sundays this year.
ReplyDeleteEven combined, I doubt the ratings of the two amount to the same as The Walking Dead.
ReplyDeleteGame of Thrones can hurt,AD is more for people that will want to watch only AD.
ReplyDeleteNo just 11-12 episode would do me but end season 4 would be ok too not to pushed about it
ReplyDeleteHa, I would go the complete opposite way and say that normality has resumed. It was weird getting them an hour earlier than usual for the past few weeks.
ReplyDeleteYeah I think GOT will probably do around 4.0 while AD will probably do around 2.0, both combined would do 6.0. Still not as big as Walking Dead.
ReplyDeletePremiere for AD will be huge, then I can see it stabilize around 2.0.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I am thinking too.
ReplyDeletePlease revenge don't get 0.9
ReplyDeleteThink about it, they usually face TWD. Game of thrones has half the audience and half the ratings. I do not think we have to worry
ReplyDeleterevenge could end properly at season 4 without cancellation
ReplyDeleteRevenge going get low rating show coming to end this season i think
ReplyDeleteDo you guys feel the same right now... you keep refreshing because you are worried about your show's ratings and time goes by so slowly
ReplyDeleteGOT finally deserves that 4.0!!!
ReplyDeleteRevenge 1.0
ReplyDeleteyep
ReplyDeleteThanx, thank god it didn't fall below a 1
ReplyDeleteWinners: Once Upon a Time, Madam Secretary, iHeart Radio Music Awards
ReplyDeleteLosers: The Good Wife, Battle Creek, Revenge
ratings don't mean episode was good it just hype low rated show could be better quality then high rated show but one just more popular then other.
ReplyDeleteHmm not great but at least no 0.9
ReplyDeleteThx for telling us :)
You sure were get info from
ReplyDeleteLMOE: 1.4/1.2
ReplyDeleteLMOE 1.4 and 1.2
ReplyDeleteOnce Upon A Time - 1.7
ReplyDeleteSecrets & Lies - 1.3
Revenge - 1.0
