And we always take into account other benchmarks including the expected demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence. Keep in mind, as always, that results for any live sporting event are always approximate.

Ratings Breakdown:
CBS stood well above the overnight competition last night with its older-skewing combination of “60 Minutes” (#1 for the evening: 9.0 rating/15 share), “Madam Secretary” (8.6/14), “The Good Wife” (6.9/11) and recent entry “Battle Creek” (5.1/ 9), which built week-to-week by 13 percent in the household overnights. But “Battle Creek” was still 22 percent below the 9:30 p.m. portion of lead-in “The Good Wife” (6.5/10). And a 4.5 rating in the overnights last week translated into only a 0.9 rating/3 share among adults 18-49, based on the Live Plus Same Day data. In other words, don’t get too used to “Battle Creek.”
On ABC, week four of drama “Secrets & Lies” finished third in the 9 p.m. hour with a 3.6/ 5, which was just one-tenth of a rating point (or three percent) below one week earlier and equal to its “Once Upon a Time” lead-in. And that 3.7 overnight rating last week translated into a 1.4/ 4 in adults 18-49 (out of a 1.8/ 6 in the demo for “Once Upon a Time”), based on the Live Plus Same Day data. So, it “Secrets & Lies” stays where it is, there could potentially be a second season. Less likely to return on ABC is diluted four-year old “Revenge,” which finished third at 10 p.m. with a 3.1/ 5.
Earlier in the evening on ABC was consistent “America’s Funniest Home Videos” at a second-place 3.7/ 5 from 7-8 p.m.
On NBC, two more hours of “Dateline” rose to a 3.8/ 6 from 9-11 p.m., which was 15 percent above the 3.3/ 5 one week earlier. And it led out of a 2.5/ 4 for an encore telecast of “The Voice” from 7-9 p.m.
Fox, meanwhile got more promising news from recent sitcom entry “The Last Man on Earth,” which scored a 2.8/ 4 with a one-hour installment from 9-10 p.m. Comparably, this was 47 percent above a one-hour encore airing out of lead-in “Family Guy” from 8-9 p.m. (1.9/ 3), and it was eight percent above the 2.6/ 4 in the 9:30 p.m. half-hour last week. And that 2.6 in the overnights translated into a 1.6/ 4 adults 18-49 (out of a 1.7/ 5 for “Family Guy”).
Earlier in the evening on Fox was a repeat of “The Simpsons” (#4: 2.0/ 4 at 9 p.m.) into tired “Bob’s Burgers” at a 1.5/ 3 (#4) at 7:30 p.m

OUAT matched last weeks HH, I hope we get Top 25 today.
ReplyDeleteSo Once Upon a Time got a 3.6?
ReplyDeleteIn HH yes.I thought Marc forgot for a second but then I saw what he did :P
ReplyDeleteYes, me too XD
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't look good for revenge 😔
ReplyDeleteCBS also delayed 35 min E/C so those numbers aren't accurate. Since Bermab didn't mention, I'm assuming he didn't go with half hours etc.
ReplyDeleteThe CBS line-up was lucky to have a sports lead-in. I believe their programs did start a bit later though. Crossing my fingers they won't get these ugly ratings they have been getting for weeks. But it seems Battle Creek hit a series high in HH ratings.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope Secrets and Lies is steady. If only its numbers were a bit higher it would get a renewal.
Why did Fox air two episodes of Last Man on Earth? It almost sounds like a burnoff but I know that isn't the case since the ratings are good enough for a second season.
He did that last week as well. Never sure what that man wants to say. Still I hope Once raises back into low 2s
ReplyDeleteLooks like ABC will be almost identical to last week
ReplyDeleteI predicted 1.9-2.0 so I hope it gets that at least. Crossing my fingers for the 2.0 though!
ReplyDeleteIts shocking how much ABC has fallen once and shield are so close in demo scandal lost a full ratings point damn and all those adjustments its difficult to predict the ratings during dst
ReplyDeleteFor sunday night, even a 1.8-1.9 would be great :)
ReplyDeleteSomeone can translate it to me? TGW, MS and OUAT did better or by the same demo of last week?
ReplyDeleteThey are airing double episode of LMoE next week (107 + 108), and on April 12th (109 + 110) too
ReplyDeleteNBC should change their name to TDN (The Dateline Network).
ReplyDeleteFox would be wise to just air one episode a week so they can get it to May Sweeps. LMoE is one of their few current bright spots.
ReplyDeleteTrue but I'd like it to be safer, it's reassuring that it's still regularly the No.1 show of the night and still their highest rated show outside of TGIT though. My only worry is if it stays this low for the rest of the season it would likely go lower next season.
ReplyDeleteSo I think that must translate into a 0.9 to 1.0 for revenge.
ReplyDeleteHoping Last Man sqeaks out a renewal.
ReplyDeleteAt its current ratings level it will
ReplyDeleteSo this is the series high for Battle Creek in HH?
ReplyDeleteABC very stable,Secrets and Lies could get a renewal.
ReplyDeleteLMOE is doing also good, didnt expect that at all.
Yes, it is. Still looks pretty bad though.
ReplyDeleteYep, LMOE is one of the surprises of the season.
ReplyDeleteEmpire is also a BIG surprise.
ReplyDeleteWill there be TOP25s?
ReplyDeleteIm guessing a 1.9 for ONCE. I'd love a 2.0 but if the rest of the season can remain stable in at the 1.7-1.9 region the show is safe for another year anyway.
ReplyDeleteWe won't know the demo numbers for another hour. These are the HH ratings.
ReplyDeleteYour guess is as good as ours.
ReplyDeleteJudging by the way ratings are going in general, especially on Sundays, it could probably drop to 1.5-1.7 and still have a good shot at renewal.
ReplyDeleteAt least OUAT is still in top 5. It should be 1.8 again. Not bad. Still good. It held on
ReplyDelete1.5-1.7 is still acceptable to Abc, it would need to drop to a 1.2 to be any danger of getting a 5th season.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping that Revenge would get a 1.2, but based on the hh it looked like it dropped. Well, since these are the last batch of episodes of the season, and its getting these ratings. I guess I'm to have to start accepting the fact that Revenge won't get that short final season afterall.
ReplyDeleteit's not a winner so it cant be 2.0 but still good because it's still in top 5. So I guess it's still Sunday top drama & s5 can come
ReplyDeleteif it's in top 5 & it's n. 1 drama Sunday which it is, we are safe for s5. I think it's 1.8 again. Good.
ReplyDeleteAh, ok :)
ReplyDeleteanother year is ok as long as we get a full end no cliffhanger
ReplyDeletewell I hope at least Revenge gets no cliffhanger Finale so I can live with it & start it like Perception & Covert Affairs
ReplyDeleteWeird Loners will most likely be DOA, so this is their only freshman comedy success this year and will very likely be renewed.
ReplyDeleteThe CBS line up was delayed by 35 minutes because of NCAA basketball. So, I wouldn't put too much stock in those numbers.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so Revenge has not been doing well, but I don't get people blaming its falling ratings on Resurrection. Take this for example:
ReplyDeleteSept 28th: Resurrection 2.2; Revenge 1.3
Oct 19th: Resurrection 1.4; Revenge 1.3
What does that tell you?
And Revenge is serialized show in its 4th season so there is no reason for it to be lead-in dependent anyways.
Some will blame everything except the show itself
ReplyDeleteI cannot tell if that is better than being TVN (The Voice Network).
ReplyDeleteOnce could drop to revenge ratings and still be renewed... The power of Disney!
ReplyDeleteWhen is the top25 going to be posted?
ReplyDeleteLooks like we won't be getting them today. The prelims should be coming in in about 20 minutes.
ReplyDeleteOUAT could do the same as last week then. I like it.
ReplyDeleteDo we know how many episodes the season has?
ReplyDeleteLet's not exaggerate here. It could drop that low but still get renewed because it had a nice buffer to fall from the Frozen-inflated earlier ratings.
ReplyDeleteBut OUAT won't get renewed because of Disney.
The biggest.
ReplyDeleteOUAT: 1.8
ReplyDeleteS&L: 1.5
Revenge: 1.1
CBS is scrambled so:
ReplyDeleteMS: 1.4/1.2
The Good Wife: 1.0/0.9
Battle creek: 0.8
Are these your predictions
ReplyDeleteNo, these are the actual numbers.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like S&Ls is doing pretty good. Sad that OUAT and Revenge stayed the same
ReplyDeleteYup. Looks like S&L is quite the solid player since it hasn't moved much from when it premiered and it just matched a series high.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get them :)
ReplyDeleteGood for SandL
ReplyDeleteAbc should have left it at thurs at 9
Was hoping for higher for OUAT but I'm happy with that, and really happy with S&L too :)
ReplyDelete10, you mean.
ReplyDeleteBut I agree. Although, to be honest, it made sense why they swapped it.
Secrets and Lies will be renewed.
ReplyDeleteI think that if Abc promoted S&Ls like they did with AC and placed it after Scandal like they originally planned, it could easily premiered to a 2.5 or something.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like it would do well as a bridge series for TGIT.
ReplyDeleteEven if it's a mid-season replacement something, matching a series high in its 5th episode is quite impressive.
ReplyDeleteAmerica Funniest Videos had a crazy jump at the half-hour: 1.1 to 1.6.
ReplyDeleteCrazy.
Some half-hours:
ReplyDeleteOUAT: 1.9/1.8
S&L: 1.5/1.4
Revenge: 1.1
How about Revenges half hours?
ReplyDeleteFull Tables now posted
ReplyDeleteIt's a 1.1
ReplyDeleteWoah, Secrets and Lies rose. It is incredible how steady it is
ReplyDeleteIf it only had started higher...
ReplyDeleteIt's so good though, I'm loving it!
ReplyDeleteWhat's been going on with Once Upon A Time? Didn't it start off the season with Scandal-like numbers?
ReplyDeleteFrozen-crazy.
ReplyDeleteABC should renew Secrets and Lies and use it as TGIT bridge in January.
ReplyDeleteThat was the Frozen effect, but I guess its now back to its regular numbers
ReplyDeleteOUAT still doing wonders in the 18-34 demo. It may not be hitting 2s, but those young adults numbers are pretty neat
ReplyDeleteI agree. It's remarkable how steady it is.
ReplyDeleteDamn OUAT got beaten by LMOE, I hope OUAT adjusts up.
ReplyDeleteIt is just amazing how steady it is. It reminds me of Scandal during its first season
ReplyDeleteABC should have placed it after Scandal. American Crime should have never been green light in the first place
ReplyDeleteI thought it's regular numbers were 2.0-2.4. Guess I don't follow it close enough.
ReplyDeleteAlso surprised by how well Last Man on Earth can do on its own. Another victory for FOX
ReplyDeleteI agree. S&L could've really benefited from Scandal's lead-in.
ReplyDeleteI mean its now back to the usual season drops. But a 1.8 is still pretty good
ReplyDeleteIf it becomes clear that it does consistently better at the top of the hour (and there will be more chances to check it out), FOX should consider going with Simpsons | Family Guy | LMOE | B99.
ReplyDeletevs last year the whole broadcast networks are down 25%. That's quite the fall
ReplyDeleteWhat about Bordertown?
ReplyDeleteI'm really surprised LMOE is doing that well, I've heard nothing but bad things about it.
ReplyDelete1.9 for first half hour of LMoE? Is that right?
ReplyDeleteS&L is doing really well, and AC with a great lead-in and in a zero competition slot is doing awfully.
It just doesn't fit on ABC's schedule.
ReplyDeleteSundays just aren't healthy. But there are some caveats in there though. Resurrection was inflating the numbers back then, NBC is airing filler and FOX aired repeats for the first hour. It would still be a bad result because Sundays just aren't healthy but the "true" decline should be lower than that.
ReplyDeletewow, amazing LMOE
ReplyDeletei hope it adjusts up
At least renewal is certain.
I don't think they should air it until midseason. There is no room right now and I think holding back LMOE would be a mistake since it is still a very young show and people would have moved on if it was brought back only in March I believe.
ReplyDeleteI was expecting to see some type of rise for Revenge, but I guess next week it will have a chance to rise
ReplyDeleteI guess ABC just greenlit it for the awards.
ReplyDeleteIt is right; LMoE seems to fo better at the first half hour at 9.
ReplyDeleteSL has proven that it is the stronger option compared to AC; it has remained where it is no matter what
I agree. But will it even generate any awards buzz?
ReplyDeleteWhat's next week?
ReplyDelete???
ReplyDeleteOh ok. So shorter seasons for Last Man? I would like that schedule then.
ReplyDeleteIt also faces The Walking Dead extended finale.
ReplyDeleteGoldderby is high on it so I think so. But it will be in the mini series category anyway
ReplyDeleteWill it got the critics' praise, we'll see if it can get some emmy noms.
ReplyDeleteIf SL manages to rise again, it will inch Revenge upwards, I'm sure of it. It also helps that the next episodes looks promising
ReplyDeleteI forgot about that
ReplyDelete13.
ReplyDeleteMeh, I thought CBS would do better. Didn't it have a sports lead-in?
ReplyDeleteHappy about S&L though. Maybe it can be renewed.
Ya, next week looks like a nail biter and plus it also helps that last nights episode was also good
ReplyDeleteYou Revenge fans said it would grow this week too because it would be explosive or looked promising.
ReplyDeleteThat's true, but still as a whole, Sunday has taken a huge dip over last season. There are only a few things doing better year to year, like Revenge improving over failure Betrayal, but that was during the fall. Now during the spring everything looks depressed
ReplyDeleteIt is primetime marketing for them... They can use once to prop up any upcoming disney movie and for continued benefits even after the movie has been released... This season has both used Frozen and Maleficent... Plus the fact that disney own ABC
ReplyDeleteThey won't cancel it just like they won't cancel AOS
All I said that I was hoping it would do better, it doesn't make it a fact
ReplyDeleteWell, I didn't like it. I didn't like it or S&L's.
ReplyDeleteThe lead is cute and all but they underused KaDee from PP on the pilot.
I dunno. I don't necessarily like the idea of short seasons for Last Man. But I am not sure how else they could do it, unless they continue with this rather odd scheduling of constantly doubling it up at 9pm. They could air 22 episodes like that I guess, airing Family Guy repeat free all season but it sounds odd. The problem is that LMOE is on a rating sweet spot in which it is doing more than well for a renewal but not well enough to warrant being moved and create a whole new block around it. But FOX still needs the room on Sundays, so that creates a problem. The only other option is running B99 straight through and premiere Bordertown at 8h30 in March.
ReplyDeleteJust wow.
ReplyDeleteYes ,I agree with you.
ReplyDeleteI guess next week it will have a chance to rise
ReplyDeleteI love Secrets and Lies, it's a fun ride.
ReplyDeleteNothing can stop Empire... woah, it's truly remarkable.
ReplyDeleteNext season it will start with a 7 at least
I mean next week I'm hoping that it will rise
ReplyDeleteIm seeing 0.9/1.0 for The Good Wife. Can you put half hours like that for the other shows, that would be really great.
ReplyDeleteI see.
ReplyDeleteI prefer S&L to AC. S&L is pretty good, but I dropped AC and don't think I'll be watching it later.
ReplyDeleteI'm almost scared to think of what the numbers will be like next season.
ReplyDeleteSecrets and Lies is amazingly steady,I am considering it as a surprise. When I saw 1.5 for pilot I thought it would crash to 1.0s
ReplyDeleteGood night for LMOE, and OUAT did alright. Secrets and Lies hanging in well. Revenge , not so much. Dateline beat in demo and HH numbers. I don't know what to say about CBS but not good, even if basketball is to blame. I am starting to think TGW wont get another year, and Battle Creek is really dead
ReplyDeleteYou can see the half hours here
ReplyDeleteI actually wasn't a huge fan of the finale. I was entertained for sure but I felt the writing was bad and compromised the show in a certain sense. I am somehow afraid it will be a fast flameout a la Glee. The ratings haven't obviously shown had signs of these whatsoever but we'll see. I agree with your prediction that it breaks a 7 for the premiere.
ReplyDeleteTGW will get at least The Mentalist treatment. Creator(i think?) said that the planned story was for seven season, and TGW is in the 6th season now.
ReplyDeleteA) OUAT hasn't seen any sizable bump from featuring Maleficent (whose costume was changed to bring it closer to Jolie's own Maleficent);
ReplyDeleteb) Although I loved Maleficent (the movie), largely because of Jolie's performance because she hit every note in that performance like she was embodying the Evil Mistress herself, the film wasn't very interesting and it didn't attract anywhere near Frozen's cultural or box office impact. Nor did it have that much success among critics (aside from the aforementioned performance);
c) Disney owns ABC. But that doesn't mean they are going to lose money on the show when its connections to the movie is tangible, at best. While SHIELD itself is far more closely related to the Marvel stuff.
All the ABC shows are steady this week. I love that.
ReplyDeleteThose *are* the half-hours.
ReplyDeleteIs the drop of LMOE in second half hour a bad sign?
ReplyDeleteWhile, we are talking about LMoE, it has the most hilarious and understated press releases ever, for example:
ReplyDeletePhil Miller continues to live in the all-new “Moved To Tampa’” episode of THE LAST MAN ON EARTH airing Sunday, April 19 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
it doesn't mean anything... I don't thing CBS signed for more than a year last year..
ReplyDeleteNope, it was lower last week, so it's not a bad sign at all
ReplyDeleteI am just saying an idea that they should put the half hours in the table for all shows,I see only TGW in the table.
ReplyDeleteIf it becomes a flameout I highly doubt it'll happen when season 2 debuts, it would be over time in middle of the season, with the first worriesome drops comming in a similar fashion to OUAT and Revenge sophomore seasons.
ReplyDeleteBut until it happens, Empire remains a huge deal
And I thought Revenge press releases were bad
ReplyDeleteCreators always long term plans for a show but most of the time, don't get to see them through.Ceators I don't think ,have much say if a shows renewed or cancelled
ReplyDeleteSunday is definitely becoming the new Friday (or even worst)...
ReplyDeleteOnly for CBS.
ReplyDeleteI know those are from ShowBuzzDaily.
ReplyDeleteSecrets & Lies numbers makes me afraid about Revenge...
ReplyDeleteYeah, they are, and also they are the show's half hours, so what's yourpoint?
ReplyDeleteActually if anything, its helping Revenge
ReplyDeleteMy point is that im seeing only TGWs half hours in SpoilerTVs table and that they should do for the other shows.
ReplyDeleteThat's because the show started half hour late.
ReplyDeleteYeah they really need to change things next year... Though I wonder if CBS is going to be less severe with Sunday shows (like for Friday) this year
ReplyDeleteOk for Once
ReplyDeleteRevenge chances have nothing to do with SL.
ReplyDeleteRevenge chances depend solely on the syndication package the show can get; its current ratings only help slightly to generate a bit more of ad revenue as opposed to its sub 1s ratings
Oh,OK thanks.
ReplyDeletePeople on TVBTN expected OUAT would rebound to 2.0. Shame that that hasnt happened I like this new arc.
ReplyDeleteI am felling chatty today, so let's talk about AD. I think it will either start huge or disappointingly low. I don't see really an in-between. And Odyssey success depends on how well AD does.
ReplyDeleteI think it will do pretty well.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
ReplyDeleteI know, last weeks episode was so good. I'm hoping it and Revenge will rise next week
ReplyDeleteFor those of you that may not remember....
ReplyDeleteToday is my birthday.
Let's rejoice, people.
People on TVBTN expected Revenge to rise because it was a special episode, I think.
ReplyDeletegot it
ReplyDeleteIt could with all the praise for the Bible.
ReplyDeletePeople - especially Revenge fans - always expect it to rise.
ReplyDeleteAD will do well at least for 1st episode I fear more for Odyssey(I also hate the new name as much as you do) as most people who will watch AD could show up to watch AD only.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, wishing you all the best.
ReplyDeleteHey! Happy Birthday! Any tv renewal wish? :D
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. Where's the party at?
ReplyDeleteWhat's the half hours viewership per million.
ReplyDeletePortugal.
ReplyDeleteWe have good booze.
Oh, I don't drink.
ReplyDeleteFine.
ReplyDeleteWe also have nice looking ladies. we have everything for anyone. ask @omabin
Maybe but terrible numbers for them at least demo wise Do you think CBS will move them to another night?
ReplyDeleteOh, that I approve of.

ReplyDeleteBabar posted them above
ReplyDeleteThen, come! we will have a sex rave.
ReplyDeleteI have an exam tomorrow. Send me pics later.
ReplyDeleteSure. What do you want to see, exactly?
ReplyDeleteSurprise me.
ReplyDeleteOk. You'll get pics from the guys' jun.
ReplyDeleteSo it's been 40 minutes and TVBTN still hasn't posted the ratings yet.
ReplyDeleteguys' jun? What's that?
ReplyDeleteIt was supposed to be junk.
ReplyDeleteAre you really surprised?
ReplyDeleteOh, ew.
ReplyDeleteYou told me to surprise you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. Have fun celebrating.
ReplyDeleteTVBTN always takes forever to post things
ReplyDeleteThey usually get it between 20 to 30 minutes. I don't understand why it takes them even that long, tho.
ReplyDeleteThey don't even monitor the comment section. That site is really a disaster.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday~
ReplyDeleteHave a good one.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm from Portugal, I'm coming to the party then
ReplyDeleteI think the first episode will get high ratings, I'm just afraid how it will be after that.
ReplyDelete2 episodes in the same day would probably do best.
A) It doesn't matter if they saw a jump or not... the point is they tried
ReplyDeleteB) Critics mean nothing... Critics can love something and fans hate it or vice versa... What matters is fans and Maleficent is the most favorite Disney villain of all time across generations... Also one cannot compare the success of Maleficent to Frozen even though both are Disney... Animated movies bring in a lot more viewers than do live action movies because parents take their children to see animated movies no matter what age... Their is going to be more caution taken by parents when it comes to allowing their children to watch Maleficent versus Frozen... While Maleficent was not a monster smash and cultural phenomenon like Frozen was it was still a fairly substantial hit for Disney
C) I have to disagree as OUATIW is a perfect example of this... That show should've have been pulled of the schedule within first few weeks yet it was aired in it's entirety... Disney will do anything they want to support their products even if it is a giant fail
Come.
