  1. Last week it was Thorstein and this week Siggy. It was filmed beatifully and she will be missed. I´m worried that Athelstan might be next. Please please let him go with Ragnar, if he stays in England he will die before this season is over.

Ragnar and King Ecberts conversations was so much fun. I hope Ragnar is playing him.
I´m glad (and not surpriced) that Lagertha sees King Ecbert for what he is.

Rollo needs a better storyline soon.

  2. I'm so sad about Siggy. She was complicated woman an I was never sure about her goals. But I always admired her devotion to children that weren't even her own and her understanding that in this world especially, women should stand together and support each other.

I fear for Athelstan too, especially since the whole "John the Baptist" comment, considering the latter's fate.
On the other hand, I can't help but watching Eckbert with him and Lagertha I thought that the king was even more eager to make out with Athelstan than he was with Lagertha.

  3. "Are you corrupt?"
    "Oh yes. Are you?"
    "Mmhmm."

My favourite part of the episode. The shots were so simple but the actors both nailed it so well. They were both awesome. Ragnar and Athelstan's little chats are starting to melt the ice. Their friendship is so beautiful and tender.

So when the Seer told Siggy he couldn't see the future for her it was because she had no such thing? Not because he was a fraud. Beautiful scene, really. The sight of her daughter gave her peace and she died to save other lives. She will be missed.

    Cool down, Floki. Thank you.
p.s.: Lagertha is more beautiful than ever.

  4. I am pissed about Siggy. I wanted her to take back the power.
    Except this, it was great.

  5. So, who was Harbard? Odin the Wanderer? And did it take the sacrifices to two children( in the previous episode) and Siggy ( in this episode) to heal Ivar's pain?

One thing that made me laugh and left me confused- when Kwenthrith declared herself as sole ruler of Mercia (after murdering her brother), everyone emptied their glasses. Was it a safety precaution or an insult to her?

  6. Enjoyed every bit. My favorite part was the dialogue between Eckbert and Ragnar. Both actors did such as wonderful job. I also loved Ragnar saying to Eckbert's son 'I don't like you' at the party. It was so casual and his facial expression was priceless.

Siggy...wow, didn't see that coming, but the scene and the context of her death were really well done. I do hope we find out more about Hardbard. This just can be it with him, he has to come back one way or another.

For the first time since Vikings started, I disliked Floki. We know he is a true believer in the gods, but in this episode he was just a crazy fanatic. I like Rollo's reactions and answers to him. And I do agree Rollo needs a better story line and quickly.

Lagertha. I am glad she sees Eckbert for what he really is, but I am worried she doesn't suspect Kalf could betray her. I am not sure if I should be worried for her, I don't think they would kill her off, but you never really know. Kalf is building quite the army against her.

Athelstan. Loved him with Ragnar. I am not into his relationship with Judith. For some reason it feels forced but I also kinda like the story. It's a mixed feelings kind of thing for me with those two. His little chat with Ragnar was great as always. I am a little scared about Athelstan's future, I'm not sure if he's safe going with Ragnar, considering Floki's anger and he's definitely not safe remaining in England. I'm more scared for him than I am for Lagertha. I hope both characters survive the season, I love them.

  7. I thought the glasses' thing was because all of them were in the plot to murder his brother.

  8. No, I don't think so. Ecbert and Aelle had no intention of killing the brother - he would have made an excellent puppet. Ragnar is not that concerned for Kwenthrith to kill her brother. No, only Kwenthrith was the one who decided to kill her brother. After her talk with Ragnar, it opened up her eyes a little bit about her situation. Her brother was a weak link that could be exploited by Ecbert/Aelle to undermine her in the future. Hence he had to go.

Emptying the glasses - I still think it was either a precaution (can't trust crazy)or an insult to Kwenthrith.
