  1. Blimey this show is on speed, Elizabeth went from being pregnant last week to giving birth, Poldark and Demelza went from a few looks, to marriage in the space of 59 mins! I wish they would have slowed it down a bit. But ehe end of S1 Ross and Demelza will be grandparents!

  2. I enjoyed that. A bit of a time jump, and not a huge amount of mine action, but a lot of character development. Francis' jealous is becoming quite ugly while Elizabeth is becoming a bit passive aggressive. I continue to love Demelza and Verity the most out of all the characters, and am really looking forward to their development together next week.

Sad to see Jim locked up, he was foolish to carry on poaching but times were incredibly hard. I found Demelza's involvement sweet, she has a heart of gold, which matches Ross'. With the speed the show is moving at Jim will have done his time in a fortnight though, so hopefully he won't be gone too long :p lol.

Great to see Robin Ellis involved, and that he and Turner had such an important scene together too. Bit of nostalgia :)

  3. Ha yes, it has galloped along faster than Ross does along that cliff front each week, that's for sure ;)

  4. Well this episode went quick! There were 9 months between episode 2 and 3!

For a show that is pretty slow paced already they need to slow down a little!

Also, Aidan Turner has some fine abs ;)

  5. I do not mind the pace .Francis is a idiot and is getting too close to the Warleggans and he needs to stop being jealous Elizabeth is married to him .
I love Ross and Demelza she will be good for him once everything settles down..

And totally shallow but the cornfield scene with a shirtless Ross was very nice indeed . He is giving Colin Firth's Mr Darcy a run for his money .

  6. Who needs Darcy in a lake when you have Poldark with a scythe in a meadow huh ;)

  7. Ha, I just made the same reference to Darcy in another comment, great minds at work I guess XD

I think that the pace will settle down now the mine is open, if we had spent too long on it and everyone getting to know each other it may have stagnated the show somewhat. I don't feel that the characters are suffering for the speed that we've gone, they are being fully rounded off and given time to flourish. It's a large cast and I don't feel like any of them are being forgotten or left out, I know their motivations and none of them feel forced or unrealistic.

  8. Lol I think it is because he was the last one to get hearts racing and Ross is doing the same I mean lets face it he is one very good looking man , who can blame Demelza.

And totally agree with the rest I just hope at some point Verity finds happiness .

  10. Boy, the BBC has another winner on their hands.... I hope they do a good job with this one.... Came just in time for me finishing up TM ( and what a finish is was)
A friend of mine in Germany and I were streaming and chatting about tonights ep ... We thought the time jump came at just the right time.... time to get the baby on the ground and the mine open.... I love a series that moves and this one doesn't leave giant plot holes in its wake.(another plus)
Funny we're chatting about how cute Demelzy and Ross are.... she come out in mom's dress...Ross gets angry and tells her to get out of the dress and go to bed....LMBO Next thing I know he's helping her take it off and boom their married..... That's moving folks...:))

  11. I love this series!!! Of course, I'm not surprised that I feel this way though. There is a mathematical certainty in my world.

It is this: historical setting + horses + hot men = happy me

Poldark passes my tv equation test easily. : )

  12. Love this show, every episode just gets better and better, loved the time jump! Ross and Demelza together was serious cuteness!

  13. All of my sympathy is with Elizabeth's sister. Old maid at 25, survived a scandal and will forever be bound to the house. I can only see suicide in her future. Elizabeth has been getting on my nerves since the 2nd episode. Every effing time she interacts with Ross she is all wistful glances. Get over it.

  14. I love Aidan Turner and Period dramas....I can have Poldark everyday for the rest of my life. Lol but he can make sexy anything......even a dwarf....

  19. I think Demelza is twice as cute as Elisabeth.... hehe Her hair is lookin' great now that she has the "crawles" all washed out. ;))) I'm lookin' forward to her explaining to Prudie who the Lady of the house is, as she hands her the dirty clothes. lololol

  21. Funny Claudia, I saw all the the US "Being Human" and really liked it....I just got all 5 seasons of the BBC version because I liked Aiden in Poldark....hows' that? Mitchel in the US version was named Aiden.... that's a hoot.

  22. I couldnt get into the USA BH because I watched the BBC first, I like BBC dramas a lot and I fell in love with Aidan/Mitchell 2009 lol so he spoiled it for me and I couldnt get through the first episode. Hope you liked it I enjoyed it too much until Aidan got casr in the Hobbit movies but oh well I have 8 episodes of Poldark to go on and maybe more ;).

  23. So glad you're into Poldark shoe! You must watch out for Jonathan Strange later on this spring too, that promises to be good from all the pre-publicity so far!

  24. The original series from the '70s is still one of the biggest selling period dramas from the UK, and the lead actor is a very popular guy, so I'm glad that's done so well! Here's hoping they will adapt the rest of the books after this initial 8 episode run, and perhaps even extend it past that :)

  25. In the novel she was 13 when he rescued her and 17 when they got married. He was 27 when married. I think for Poldark 2015 they made her a little older ( for PC sakes) and maybe she's been at Nampara for about 2 years. I'm sure they up tne pace 'cause they they've got so much ground to cover.
