Whoa at Maleficent being pregnant. Didn't see that coming. Like did Snow mean that literally as in she miscarried or she lost the baby through kidnapping or something?
And ugh at Belle/Will. HE BELONGS WITH ANA, DAMN IT. And I saw that coming a while ago because of set photos of them holding hands and I'm not here for it.
Wow I figure that Maleficent had a child but I don't see what Charmings did for her to lose the child and really Emma will be that mad at them for trying to protect her from going dark and I bet Emma childhood friend Lily is going to be Maleficent child
Average. Some really great scenes but some real stinkers too.
I like Maleficent's backstory but the way they're laying it out is ridiculous. I'm also not a fan of taking away the emotional significance of the cave scene from S3 and using it to bring Snow even further away from Emma. But in a really stupid way.
The Author storyline remains nonsensical but I liked the scenes that came out of it. Especially with Marco telling Regina off. I've always liked Tony Amendola and I'm glad he got to bring it this week.
I suspect that I'm supposed to feel for Rumple in that last scene. Like he's not stalking the wife that left him and that he abused in various ways.
This show's obsession with purity in exactly the wrong way continues to be stupid. The cognitive dissonance just doesn't make for good television. Maleficent basically revealed that Emma is...a human! Capable of both good and bad acts! WOW! And knowing the bad things Snow and Charming had done, even at that point makes their insistence at being heroes two dimensional. (I miss the Snow and Charming of Snow Falls)
they were holding hands?!!!!!! i do not remember that, maybe if i did i would've been prepared. DAMN IT!!! the creators destroyed the amazing journey that Will and Ana went through in Wonderland
I'd just like to say that I so called this last week. Only thing that needs to be confirmed now is that it's Lily (which judging by the set pictures from the other day, I'm pretty sure it's a safe bet).
Love the ending scene monologue. Regina and Gepetto scene, and Emma/Hook scene
And i liked the Emma/Hook in the end and the words exchanged - "Whatever you did, you're not that person anymore. It's not going to change anything between us" - Emma to Hook "I'm going to choose to see the best in you." - Emma "I don't intend to let you down." - Hook
But i think its going to come out when we see Ursula's backstory and so on.
Maybe I'm going to a really dark place, because I was getting the impression that the Charming did something like help Maleficent miscarry the baby or worse. Yet, then they are still promoting them as the heroes. It makes no sense that the Snow and David would do something that horrible to like end a life and then still act like they are the heroes.
If they did something like give the child to happy family or the father, then I could see that as being in character (maybe). But if the Charmings made a deal that resulted in the child's death, then I truly think it is character assassination. All in all, I think this is a stretch. I think the show is trying to hard to say the people have good and bad sides.
Sorry but that secret was LAME! I hate to say this but if somehow Maleficent's child is alive and she manage to get the child to safety, the child will be Lilly. I wanted Lilly to be normal. I have a feeling she's not now.
These are the possibilities I thought of as Maleficent's baby daddy: 1) Gold (She spent enough time chasing happy endings with him.) 2) Hook (He might have cheated on Ursula with her.) 3) The Author (If he's a man, she might know who he is, but no one knows where he is.)
Whoever wrote this episode did an excellent job of diverting attention from the fact that we still don't know the whole secret. I got completely distracted by what Gold saw Belle doing. Perfect timing for a love story plot twist.
As much as I liked the episode, why do they keep repeating themselves over and over again? I mean another villain with family issues? It’s getting kind of annoying.
Snow is literally a murderer, Charming is a killer and they are sleeping in that room because they were the commanders of a violent coup d'etat. Snow's selfishness is one of her defining traits.
The fact that Lily has the mysterious star mark on her arm pretty much guaranteed that she wasn't going to be normal. It's pretty much a big giveaway if writers in any show feel the need to add something like that.
They fought a war. I'm not sure I would call them murderers for that, especially David. I understand Snow being called a murderer because of the whole deal with Cora and the forgotten darkness on her heart. However, I do personally believe there is a difference between doing things in a time of war and times of peace, which everything after Snow and Charming got married especially since Regina couldn't hurt them anymore and that is when this would have to take place. However, this is very different for me because a child is an innocent, so the Charming killing a baby is character assassination to me. I don't think they should cross that line in the show. We don't know if it is that. But I don't buy that the Charmings could kill a baby.
WHAT THE HELL?!!! Mary Margaret!!!! that secret was insane!!! so the trinket was a baby rattle, that was surprising. ASHLEY MENTION YAY!!! so August WAS researching The Author, he definitely knew enough about him to known how to add a story to the Book. I NEED TO SEE AUGUST BACK PERMANENTLY!!!!!! i loved that the show remembered the close friendship that Emma and August had before the IDIOTIC thing they did when they turned August back into a a kid. I CANNOT believe that creators DESTROYED Will and Ana!!!!!!!!!!!!! THOSE SOBs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I couldn't help but laugh at the fact that 'Secrets & Lies' was plastered all over the screen during the episode, OUAT seems more deserving of that title now! I really loved the episode though. Loved the scene in the enchanted forest with Maleficent and Snow and Maleficent's voice sounds like she's about to cry.
Cruella had some great lines in the episode too lol. Does anyone else get the feeling Adam & Eddy are waiting to see if they can get Emma Rigby to come back before showing what happened to Ana? Either to show in flashbacks or keep on as a regular if she'll stay. I don't mind Belle & Will together but I don't want to see him there just as a love interest.
And once again OUAT has made me feel sorry for it's villains. When Mal put the rattler back together I was yelling at my screen! I'm beyond happy with this dark secret storyline for the Charmings. They've been in the background for too long now and before that they were the perfect heroes we all knew.
It's too predictable that Lily is Mal's daughter so I hope the writers put some sort of twist on it. I'm looking forward to seeing undercover Regina and finding out what Hook's past with Ursula is. If it turns out they used to be a couple I'm throwing my TV out the window...please don't do that OUAT writers, I already hate Hook enough!
That was awesome tbh. Snow has sink a new low. It was a predictable episode but it was predictable in a good way. One thing tho. BELLE WHAT ARE YOU DING WITH WILL WTF. NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. HE BELONGS TO ANA. I still think teh author is an older version of Henry that now lives in EF.
that'd be so awesome if Henry was The Author, and it would SO make sense after all he's seen. I know this is horrible but maybe Will wasn't heartbroken because Ana reverted to evil but maybe because she died
That was the most pathetic reveal in television history. Are they effing kidding me? "because of us she lost her child"? Boy, the Charmings are sooooooooo evil. Really? If Snow had said "we killed her child", now that would have been both awesome and had made them actually evil. But no. Ambiguos network tv script writing gives you BS like "because of us" instead. What next? Another flashback on how the Charmings used some sort of spell to guarantee Emma to be a heroe at the expese of the dargon's child? Boring.
As a massive fan of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, I am really upset about Will and Belle. Will and Ana has the most beautiful relationship evolution in the spin-off, and I am heartbroken that it was all for nothing. Although, I do appreciate that it is going to cause some interesting plot lines in the future. The upcoming episodes are going to be hard for Rumbelle fans, all we can do now is just keep hoping for their happy ending.
Yh it was one of my favourites :) 17 seasons and a couple of movies across 3 shows in the franchise. All 3 and their planned future movies were eventually cancelled though :( There was an animated show as well but no one really counts that :P
This was one of the best episodes of the season! Snow White was acting like the secret was SOOOOO big like she and Charming went and slaughtered ten children so Emma won't have to go to the dark side or something. The secret wasn't that bug of a deal.
Well, it's feeling like they've got me on board for this half of the season. Didn't expect that Mel had been pregnant. But the second I saw that I starting hoping that they had NOT made her lose her baby. Argh! No wonder the Charming's are scared. That's the kind of hurt you do not forgive.
I loved the scene with Regina and....ack!...Pinocchio's father. The last few minutes blew me away. Especially Rumple watching Belle.
Well this is the second time Emma has told Killian she doesn't care what happened in the past- she believes in who he has become, I hope that we don't see her doubt that now when we fnd out what happened between Ursula and Hook. Already we are seeing Hook doubting himself again and his worthiness of Emma. I hope we are not going to go through this again. Can we not just move on and stop digging up,Hooks's past. I know some people, think he hasn't had redemption but I think he has and that is good enough for me.
yeah they do!! i know the creators said in the Special that the point of Storybrooke is that it's lost in time because time was frozen for 28 years but come on Emma and Henry can leave Storybrooke and get new High-Def computers LOL
my current guess is that Snow didn't actively cause her to miscarry. I think the fact that she refused to work with Maleficent led, indirectly, to the loss of her baby and that's why she hates Snow. My theory is that that's why Maleficent's threat was directed specifically to Snow and not to the couple.
like i said maybe Ana died and not revert to evil after all she went through, i know it's horrible but it's better than ripping out pour hearts right, dying's horrible but we wouldn't feel like we went through that journey for nothing
They put a lot of emphasis on it, that's why everyone is sure Lilly is connected to the Enchanted Forrest, if she would have been a character that was just passing by, they wouldn't have given her so many details.
I've kinda lost track listing the events that occured in FTL/Enchanted Forest pre-curse so let's see how this fit in with the continuty, potential retcons and all:
1. QoD's and Rumple went to a hidden chamber to obtain a "dark curse". 2. Regina gatecrashed into t the Charming wedding and warned them of an impending curse's about to unleash. 3. Regina, after the curse she got from Maleficent backfired, stole the Dark Curse from her. 4. Maleficent gathered her friends, Cruella and Ursula to seek an enchanted tree to find a way to dispel the Dark Curse.
So I'm guessing this was still about Rumple's machinations in designing the curse according to his needs, as per Season 1 flashbacks. So I wonder how the scroll containing ended up in Regina's hands and later passed on to Mal in exchange for the sleeping curse. Something must have happened that led to that point in 1x02, unless Rumple intended that to happen from the get go.
I thought the same thing. They are asking a lot of Regina who was once addicted to darkness. I know they couldn't ask Hook to do it because one he has a difficult past with Ursula and two they wouldn't really take him in because he has no magic but still... Regina always tries so hard and now she will be alone on her mission, questioned from both sides. And I bet that the "heroes" (I can't write this without putting some irony into it) will question her more than the villians. Emma and Henry will probably believe in her but the Charmings are always putting a signal sign marked "villain" on anything that might be a threat.
I think it was established that Will's current arc was set before the events of Wonderland. Anastasia broke his heart when she became the Red Queen, so Will had Cora tore his heart out to erase the pain. Some time later, he left FTL altogether for magic free Storybrooke.
Between those events and White Rabbit's quest to locate Will is probably where the current arc fits in.
One of the theories floating around was that there was two magical trees instead of one that could carry someone and teleport them to the real world. It could be that the Charmings somehow managed to get one, did their thing with Gepetto, kidnapped Maleficent's baby and sent her off.
Although the secret did not sound very bad, I think it is the greatest pain you can inflict on a mother taking her child. I don't know what Snowing did to Maleficent's child exactly but what I find perverted is the motif behind it. They probably did something to ensure that Emma will be good and did not care about Maleficent or her child at all. The ultimate justification for them is because they are heroes and deserve to have a child born good. It is more than aweful and perverse and I don't know... It's so wrong... This episode was great for me because it switched the label basis between "villains" and "heroes". Snow and Charming were deceptive and lied to anyone. They did not even work together with the villains to perserve the safety of their kingdom. And in Storybrook they constantly lied using their normal sense of talking to hide their secrets and deceive anyone. I even wonder if they ever really saw the good in someone labelled "villain". Okay, I can't stop being upset about Snowing. This episode showed me why I like the villains more, they are more truthful. If they want to destroy you, they tell you. :D
Such a shame really. A portion of the fans just teared SGU to pieces and never gave it a chance as retalition for Syfy not continuing with Atlantis. Had people really been patient and just genuinely appreciate the showrunner's efforts to do a little something different with SGU, we would have gone full circle with whatever they were planning at the time, perhaps including SGA-SGU crossovers on top of the ones SGU had with SG1.
I never got to watch much of SG1 (it aired in the Philippines but was never finished) but I loved the Kurt Russel movie that started it all.
But Snow did not do it for the greater good. She did it out of vengance. This makes her a murderer and not a killer. It's funny that Regina tried to get vengance for years and Snow just took it but because we have to believe Snow is good and Regina is evil everyone tries to defend Snow. It does not matter who your victim is, murder is murder. It becomes more sickening if you think about her always saying she sees the best in anyone. Duh?! Well, to see the best in anyone, is her most prominent lie... For the record I like Snow because she is not as good as she tries to make believe. It just shows that there are neither true villains nor heroes.
How is Emma becoming a hero greater good? Have you seen Snow's face when Maleficent told her that her child could become a villain? She couldn't even say the word and looked like Maleficent told her her child will be cripled. It's like she wouldn't be able to love it the same way if there was a potential for evil in her child.
My eyes are all wet! Episode was better than previous one, and I like a reference to Harry Potter with ressurection of Maleficent: "Blood of the enemy, forcibly taken, you will resurrect your foe."
I was especially upset SGU was gone since it was and still is my favourite TV show ever, SG1 and Atlantis don't even come close to it for me. I hope the reboot goes well and that I actually enjoy it, although I'm not expecting anything like SGU.
It will most likely be rebooted on TV sometime anyway. It's kind of weird to think Stargate is following the same path as Star Trek yet Star Trek is so much more well known and talked about. Both had several series, both were cancelled, and both were rebooted with a movie trilogy years later :P
Exactly. I also think that Snow and David will probably question Regina's loyalty along the way - on a dark path they themselves put her on. I'm certain that Regina will make it, but it will be hard on her ... And I already feel sorry for her. She's so sad all the time ...
In my opinion an average episode. I was disappointed with season 4a and was looking for a much better 4b. The jury's still out.
Some things I loved: 1. Cruella badass 2. Maleficent's return. The last scene broke my heart. 3. Pinocchio's father helping Regina 5. Revelation of Maleficent's child. Didn't see that coming. 6. Belle moving on with Will. It seems a bit rushed but I think for now he is good for her. I don't know about Will's past (never watched OnceIW) but as long as the writers don't intend to reveal his past in ONCE, I'm fine with Belle/Will.
Now the other side of the medal: 1. Ursula as an evil character. She still have to convice me that she's not some boring sea witch. How could she know the excat spot of the box in Gold's shop? Even if Gold told her, he was away for a while. Enough time for Belle to rearrange things. Tentacle eyes? I would say a plot hole. 2. Hook. He needs a job or something else except from being the coffee boy for Emma. 3. The Charming's secret. We know how things turn out when you keep secrets from others especially you own child ! Old story, writers. 4. Snow asking Regina to spy on the villians. Really??? She's trying so hard to be good and Snow has nothing better to do to feed her dark side. As someone here already mentioned: The alcoholic vs. alcohol.
My heart is already wrenching, too because it is so obvious that this will be hard on her. It's sad that we both are so sure that Snow and David will question her loyalty but that's how it always has been and they obviously didn't change as she did as this episode put brilliantly in display.
Right. While that scene in office between Regina and Henry where they talked about the time Regina felt the happiest - shows that all she's ever wanted is love and a family ... Which makes it all the more tragic how screwed up her life became and the choices she made.
i can't help thinking the Charming sacrified Lily (who can doubt that she's Maleficent's daughter ?) to test a way to save Emma, because they thought a villain's child is meant to become a villain and so her life doesn't worth anything.
She was screwed from the moment she was born with Cora as mother. She is such a tragic character. I mean watching your mother crushing your lover's heart and then being imprisoned into an unwanted marriage and unwanted life, what should you do? She had her choices, yes, but she had never anyone to lead her to the right ones until Henry. The cruelty is that she has a great heart and was too naive and innocent at one point in her life. So she easily trusted Rumple and then her innocence went down the drain.
Well i guess we know who the big bad would be until the end of the season (and maybe until the end of the series). I just don't get how can they make her the hero first and now they are making the THE Villain.
True. I suppose that's what makes her such an amazing character to follow: A person with a great heart and a lot of courage who still turns bad - at least for a time. It makes for a great story about humanity and how fragile the barrier is between good and bad.
I suppose they did, otherwise Maleficent wouldn't have said Snow inflicted the greatest pain on her and that was when she was already evil! No doubt they sacrificed Maleficent's child just to preserve there own child from becoming "a-a -"... "a villain". It' repulsive to think about that the life of a villain's child is less worth then there own. They are such devoted heroes, aren' they?
It's an amazing character. One can easily understand and even relate although she was homocidal and inflicted so many pain. I don't think I have seen such a character in any other show, at least never this deep crafted. The fragility of the barrier between good and bad has been one of the most interesting themes on the show. Snow never was an angel and probably more selfish than Regina when she was young. Yet life turned out differently and sometimes it only needs little steps.
I'm not sure about that. This show is about how thin the line between good and evil is. If they make her evil in the end she will end up okay again. I know to which typical plot strings your refering to but this wouldn't work out pretty well, as you said it is not believable. Emma isn't Willow and of course having flaws is natural and overcoming your own darkness makes the greatest heroes. If I were to bet on one series ending, it's Rumple as being the last big bad with resulting in his own sacrifice to extinguish most of the darkness from the world or split it up more because he is the one with whom all of this started. (I know that's another prominent way to end a show but too me that would make sense.)
Maybe i make a mistake, but Maleficent "swallowed" the "true love potion" before Charming and Snow get married. So before what we saw in this episode (that took place after the Charming honeymoon). And if, having the true love potion in her opened her heart to love and so...to have a child ???
It makes me want to puke. But we shouldn't forget, Maleficent is just a villain and those things don't equal human beings, at least to a hero. I am not very into religion but watching the episode I had the funny ringing in my head of this biblical quote "Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone." Yet, some people defend them as if they act for the greater good. What might that be? Maybe they evoked the greatest evil because of their selfishness...
hi Oncer602, actually, i am catholic and i feel for Maleficent because she knows who she is whereas Snow thinks she's better than anyone else and unable to share the most universal feeling in the world ! Please, you can read Luke 18, 9-14
Because it's true. That's what they are. They have a significant amount of blood on their hands. The Charmings' biggest flaw is their superiority and inability to recognize their own hypocrisy. Hopefully they go into it more because it's the most interesting part of the Charmings and it gets ignored.
I didn't call them murderers. I said David was a killer. He's brutally killed a lot of soldiers doing their jobs because he wanted to commit treason. Was that the right decision or the wrong decision, I don't know.
It's not really time of war either. It's that they STARTED a war. And largely took over a kingdom and overthrew a monarchy because...I don't know the guy was mean to them. I don't think they'd kill a baby on purpose, but think of all the times they have been really selfish and put everyone else at serious risk.
- Snow literally put her own child's life on the line when she asked Regina to split her heart in two. She was willing to let her own child die on the chance Charming could live. - When Tamara and Greg set off the fail safe, Snow and Charming were only planning on taking their friends (Granny, Archie and the dwarves) back to the Enchanted Forest and leaving everyone else in town to die. - They cast a curse because they had personal need to get back to Emma. So they cursed an entire world, ripping all the people in it out of their homes without asking.
I don't think they'd look at a baby and kill it, I think that Snow and Charming always have and always will choose themselves and their own idea of heroics without thinking of the consequences until they're forced to face it. I'm not sure if OUAT is going to do that this season but it would be a much better storyline than "the Charmings are yet again horrible parents to Emma".
It's one of the biggest failings of the show, I think. That this is SUCH an interesting storyline, exploring the concept of heroes and hypocrisy, and they keep skipping over it. I hope they go into it more with this storyline now.
It was never really established that LIly was of a particular race, as I don't think the concept does not really apply to the OUAT universe (like Black Rapunzel and an Asian dwarf).
Besides, they can easily find an adult version of Lily that's consistent with her initial appearance, dark hair and all. Doesn't have to be blonde, unless...(and I just thought about this now)
What if Snow White switched her baby with Maleficent prior to being born? A little far-fetch but why not, right? :D
To be honest, I assumed that everything from the OuaT-timeline is happening before Will went back to Wonderland... so IMO he will be with Ana in the future... or am I wrong?
Oh thank you for leading me to this quote, I don't not know this part. That's a good example for the difference between Snow and Maleficient. The one who brags about his good deeds infront of God is not more justified than the one who confesses himself a sinner. "For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted." Snow's self-rightousness felt very wrong. She often had sold herself more good than she really is but her attitude towards Maleficent was a new high.
I believe they will get into it, at least I hope so. It's about time that they show what Snow really is capable of and not in a-"oh, oh, I am selfish but a villain has not deserved to be treated as human being so everyone buys it's for the greater good"-way. I like it more when the show explores what dark potential everyone has and does not sell it for the greater good.
OUATiW current story took place along side OUAT's season 2. It's ending was a flash forward, but the problem is we don't know when the book was written and if Alice kept in contact to know for sure that will and Ana had a happy ending at that time. Another possibilaty is that Emma could of altered something when she went back in time...
I also think that until we see Will and Belle officially kiss or profess their love, that it's possible that she's just helping him with his problem with Ana or maybe he discovered something about his sister...
I'm glad the plot for this part of the season is connected with the main plot from Season 1. It's really nice to see Maleficent back, Geppeto, but mainly the story of the Dark Curse.
Because it's a trope of fantasy, super hero, science fiction, and or supernatural genres. Harry Potter, Damian, ect. people with Mel's tend to have super powers... It also makes sense because one of Emma's first scenes was her blowing out her star candle, playing to "when you wish upon a star" which is iconic to Pinocchio and we know August, an observer fringe reference, was working for someone to make destiny happen, as he is responsible for convincing Neal not to go after Emma and let her take the fall, so she could come and break the curse, which we know stems from Malefecint...and August also has a magic typewriter....
Yes, you 're right, by "swallow" i meant the potion is in Maleficent and i wondered if such a powerful magic might have produced some effect on Maleficent even protected by a golden and locked egg.
I agree. There were parts I really enjoyed but parts I am still wondering about. I totally agree about Hook. While I love Emma and He together he needs something to do. How can we expect him to continue his path to redemption, yes I said he is on a path to redemption, if all he does is follow Emma and wait for her to get over his flaws, which he like everyone else in Storybrooke have. I will be hugely disappointed if all we see of him AGAIN this arc is one episode of him working with Belle for a few minutes and going back to what he did wrong as a pirate- that ship has already sailed. It's time to move on and give him a purpose for being there, other than Emma's love interest. I love his path to redemption but I loved his character in season 3 because he challenged Emma and himself. That is who Emma fell in love with.
Well. Yes. The odds have been stacked against her. But aside from this undercover storyline being exciting to watch, which I do think it will be, I guess Regina will also learn to believe in herself - that she is actually able to stay good - which may give her some inner peace of a kind.
They've been wasting Snow now for two and a half seasons so I really hope that that's where they're going. It really should have been the follow up to Snow killing Cora but was dropped because Neverland or whatever they needed to change the storyline to. This is actually the first time I've been excited for anything Snow and Charming in so long.
Revisionist nonsense: Snow and David meet Maleficent but what about the egg she swallowed? Emma could be evil but why was Neal so innocent? An enchanted tree of knowledge and yet all but one tree was cut down? Maleficent was killed twice and yet Snow and Charming wronged her worse?(someone has a perverted perspective of worse) Oh and so much for death is death. Call in Billy Crystal, we need Miracle Max. Oh and lets throw in a magic portal as well for the Author.
True, it is finally interesting. But now that you mention it. Snow did something to Maleficent as worse as Regina did to her: I wonder why she still had a good heart after murdering Cora. Is it just because she believes herself to be innocent and good?
Well, I don't know either. For me, sacrificing another one's child for your own can't be heroic. But since s2 I wondered how Snow can call herself a hero that easily, so she might really have another way of thinking. I rather stay gray, too. ;)
I guess that the enchanted forest works just like our world does, and the history is written by the winner... Because I, sure as hell, wouldn't consider Blue or Snow as good.
To be honest, I haven't liked the change in Snow's character this whole season so far. She seems to,have forsaken Emma to be Regina's BFF. I find it hard to,swallow that she can forgive some Villians but not others and support choices some people make. I really didn't like her condoning what Regina and Robin were doing when Marian sacrificed herself for a Snow- to keep, her whereabouts from the evil queen-and I didn't like her interactions with Emma in 4a. Up until this season I have been a fan of Snow, trying to survive against lots of odds and doing things that are maybe not on the good side, but had to do to survive but to me she has turned into a self-righteous nag! Sorry I just hope we get the old Snow back soon.
I thought this was the most interesting episodes for the Charmings in a long time. In my opinion, they are usually boring. I was invested in their story for a change.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Loved
ReplyDeleteDidn't see that coming
ReplyDeleteWhoa at Maleficent being pregnant. Didn't see that coming. Like did Snow mean that literally as in she miscarried or she lost the baby through kidnapping or something?
ReplyDeleteAnd ugh at Belle/Will. HE BELONGS WITH ANA, DAMN IT. And I saw that coming a while ago because of set photos of them holding hands and I'm not here for it.
Great episode!
So, character assassination for the Charmings, lovely?
ReplyDeleteIt's boring if there always good
ReplyDeleteWow I figure that Maleficent had a child but I don't see what Charmings did for her to lose the child and really Emma will be that mad at them for trying to protect her from going dark and I bet Emma childhood friend Lily is going to be Maleficent child
ReplyDeleteyeah for the person that said Lily's Maleficent's daughter, this episode made me a believer
ReplyDeleteAverage. Some really great scenes but some real stinkers too.
ReplyDeleteI like Maleficent's backstory but the way they're laying it out is ridiculous.
It's largely within what we've already seen of their character. It's just tired because it doesn't make sense.
ReplyDeletethey were holding hands?!!!!!! i do not remember that, maybe if i did i would've been prepared. DAMN IT!!! the creators destroyed the amazing journey that Will and Ana went through in Wonderland
ReplyDeleteI'd just like to say that I so called this last week. Only thing that needs to be confirmed now is that it's Lily (which judging by the set pictures from the other day, I'm pretty sure it's a safe bet).

There is a difference between doing some for the greater that is in the darker/grey area and doing something that is dark for the sake of being dark.
ReplyDeleteoh so you're the one that had that theory, yeah i'm officially on your theory train
ReplyDeleteif you see Continuum, it's crazy hard for me to see Marco as anything but a psychopathic revolutionist
ReplyDeleteLove the ending scene monologue. Regina and Gepetto scene, and Emma/Hook scene
ReplyDeleteAnd i liked the Emma/Hook in the end and the words exchanged -
"Whatever you did, you're not that person anymore. It's not going to change anything between us" - Emma to Hook
"I'm going to choose to see the best in you." - Emma
"I don't intend to let you down." - Hook
But i think its going to come out when we see Ursula's backstory and so on.
Maybe I'm going to a really dark place, because I was getting the impression that the Charming did something like help Maleficent miscarry the baby or worse. Yet, then they are still promoting them as the heroes. It makes no sense that the Snow and David would do something that horrible to like end a life and then still act like they are the heroes.
ReplyDeleteIf they did something like give the child to happy family or the father, then I could see that as being in character (maybe). But if the Charmings made a deal that resulted in the child's death, then I truly think it is character assassination. All in all, I think this is a stretch. I think the show is trying to hard to say the people have good and bad sides.
Sorry but that secret was LAME!
ReplyDeleteI hate to say this but if somehow Maleficent's child is alive and she manage to get the child to safety, the child will be Lilly. I wanted Lilly to be normal. I have a feeling she's not now.
I was expecting more but okay..... anyways Maleficent's daughter us obviously lily
ReplyDeleteThese are the possibilities I thought of as Maleficent's baby daddy:
ReplyDelete1) Gold (She spent enough time chasing happy endings with him.)
2) Hook (He might have cheated on Ursula with her.)
3) The Author (If he's a man, she might know who he is, but no one knows where he is.)
ReplyDeleteat least they're not blood related to any of the characters huh?
ReplyDeletehopefully, that remains to be the case.
ReplyDeleteSnow is literally a murderer, Charming is a killer and they are sleeping in that room because they were the commanders of a violent coup d'etat. Snow's selfishness is one of her defining traits.
ReplyDeleteI have. But it's hard for me to see him as anything other than a warrior alien. ;)
ReplyDeleteWow, if they make her Emma's old friend Lily rather than a new character that would be so low, even for OUAT.
ReplyDeletewhat, why would you call them that?
ReplyDeleteyep, because that's pet peeve of mine in this show
ReplyDeleteThe fact that Lily has the mysterious star mark on her arm pretty much guaranteed that she wasn't going to be normal. It's pretty much a big giveaway if writers in any show feel the need to add something like that.
ReplyDeleteThey fought a war.
ReplyDeleteWHAT THE HELL?!!!
ReplyDeletewhy is the star weird?
ReplyDeleteSame! Loved him in SG :)
ReplyDeleteoh he was there?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't help but laugh at the fact that 'Secrets & Lies' was plastered all over the screen during the episode, OUAT seems more deserving of that title now! I really loved the episode though. Loved the scene in the enchanted forest with Maleficent and Snow and Maleficent's voice sounds like she's about to cry.
ReplyDeleteCruella had some great lines in the episode too lol.
On Stargate, yup.
ReplyDeleteIt was fine. But hat pretty much guessed it all.
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome tbh. Snow has sink a new low. It was a predictable episode but it was predictable in a good way.
ReplyDeleteOne thing tho. BELLE WHAT ARE YOU DING WITH WILL WTF. NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. HE BELONGS TO ANA.
I still think teh author is an older version of Henry that now lives in EF.
cool, that was a crazy successful show right?
ReplyDeleteapparently, we're going to see an 18-19 year old Ursula and it's definitely no a romance and definitely need touch-screen computer LOL
ReplyDeletenice analogy on Regina being undercover with an alcoholic, totally makes sense
ReplyDeletethat'd be so awesome if Henry was The Author, and it would SO make sense after all he's seen. I know this is horrible but maybe Will wasn't heartbroken because Ana reverted to evil but maybe because she died
ReplyDeleteThat was the most pathetic reveal in television history. Boring.
ReplyDeleteAs a massive fan of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, I am really upset about Will and Belle.
ReplyDeleteYh it was one of my favourites :) 17 seasons and a couple of movies across 3 shows in the franchise. All 3 and their planned future movies were eventually cancelled though :( There was an animated show as well but no one really counts that :P
ReplyDeleteOh good, I'm looking forward to it :) The computers in the library need upgrading too lol!
ReplyDeleteThis was one of the best episodes of the season! Snow White was acting like the secret was SOOOOO big like she and Charming went and slaughtered ten children so Emma won't have to go to the dark side or something. The secret wasn't that bug of a deal.
ReplyDelete#PoorMaleficentButShesEvilButWhoCaresImGladShesBack
Well, it's feeling like they've got me on board for this half of the season. Didn't expect that Mel had been pregnant. But the second I saw that I starting hoping that they had NOT made her lose her baby. Argh! No wonder the Charming's are scared. That's the kind of hurt you do not forgive.
ReplyDeleteI loved the scene with Regina and....ack!...Pinocchio's father. The last few minutes blew me away. Especially Rumple watching Belle.
LOL but WOW 17 seasons?!!! that's amazing
ReplyDeleteWell this is the second time Emma has told Killian she doesn't care what happened in the past- she believes in who he has become, I hope that we don't see her doubt that now when we fnd out what happened between Ursula and Hook. Already we are seeing Hook doubting himself again and his worthiness of Emma. I hope we are not going to go through this again. Can we not just move on and stop digging up,Hooks's past. I know some people, think he hasn't had redemption but I think he has and that is good enough for me.
ReplyDeleteyeah they do!! i know the creators said in the Special that the point of Storybrooke is that it's lost in time because time was frozen for 28 years but come on Emma and Henry can leave Storybrooke and get new High-Def computers LOL
ReplyDeletemy current guess is that Snow didn't actively cause her to miscarry. I think the fact that she refused to work with Maleficent led, indirectly, to the loss of her baby and that's why she hates Snow. My theory is that that's why Maleficent's threat was directed specifically to Snow and not to the couple.
ReplyDeleteSnow did kill Reginia's mother.
ReplyDeleteyeah he has hasn't he? even in the promo for next week when they said heroes and villains they showed Hook with the heroes
ReplyDeleteyeah i guess but murderer is a bit harsh. Cora HAD to die, there was no other choice
ReplyDeleteLOL nice hashtag
ReplyDeletelike i said maybe Ana died and not revert to evil after all she went through, i know it's horrible but it's better than ripping out pour hearts right, dying's horrible but we wouldn't feel like we went through that journey for nothing
ReplyDeleteTrue, but it was a harsh sequence. I just think that to some perspectives murderer isn't too much of a stretch.
ReplyDeleteBut, they did do it for the greater good. They did it for Emma to be a heroe, for them, that's the greater good...
ReplyDeleteHave you seen a birthmark in the shape of a star?
ReplyDeletei guess not but wasn't as weird to me even though they focused on it
ReplyDeleteThey put a lot of emphasis on it, that's why everyone is sure Lilly is connected to the Enchanted Forrest, if she would have been a character that was just passing by, they wouldn't have given her so many details.
ReplyDeleteI've kinda lost track listing the events that occured in FTL/Enchanted Forest pre-curse so let's see how this fit in with the continuty, potential retcons and all:
ReplyDelete1.
Something must have happened that led to that point in 1x02, unless Rumple intended that to happen from the get go.
yeah i guess, they're even giving her own episode with her own name
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing.
ReplyDeleteI think it was established that Will's current arc was set before the events of Wonderland. Anastasia broke his heart when she became the Red Queen, so Will had Cora tore his heart out to erase the pain. Some time later, he left FTL altogether for magic free Storybrooke.
ReplyDeleteBetween those events and White Rabbit's quest to locate Will is probably where the current arc fits in.
I was like "EWWW....Windows XP? Really?!"
ReplyDeleteAugust needs to die first in Stalker (I haven't watched the recent episode so not sure what happened to him lately). :D
ReplyDeleteI don't really mind if it's gonna be LIly. The show wouldn't waste 2 seconds of airtime focusing her birthmark for nothing.
ReplyDeleteOne of the theories floating around was that there was two magical trees instead of one that could carry someone and teleport them to the real world. It could be that the Charmings somehow managed to get one, did their thing with Gepetto, kidnapped Maleficent's baby and sent her off.
ReplyDeleteAlthough the secret did not sound very bad, I think it is the greatest pain you can inflict on a mother taking her child.
ReplyDeleteThis episode was great for me because it switched the label basis between "villains" and "heroes".
LOL, well i won't spoil you but they left us in the mother of all cliffhangers
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeletebut he was affected by Ingrid's curse so he has his heart
ReplyDeleteExactly. They just call themselves heroes and that's is how it is then. It's sick if you think about it to hard.
ReplyDeleteSure enough. I'm running through past interviews from the EP's about the show.
ReplyDeleteAccoridng to EW, Will's post-Wonderland story will be told in detail in 4B.
ReplyDeleteI never got to watch much of SG1 (it aired in the Philippines but was never finished) but I loved the Kurt Russel movie that started it all.
ReplyDeleteHow is Emma becoming a hero greater good? Have you seen Snow's face when Maleficent told her that her child could become a villain? She couldn't even say the word and looked like Maleficent told her her child will be cripled. It's like she wouldn't be able to love it the same way if there was a potential for evil in her child.
ReplyDeleteLILY HAS TO BE MALEFICENT'S DAUGHTER!
ReplyDeleteMy eyes are all wet! Episode was better than previous one, and I like a reference to Harry Potter with ressurection of Maleficent: "Blood of the enemy, forcibly taken, you will resurrect your foe."
Note: A+
Tske a look at:
ReplyDeletehttp://onceuponatime.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline/Enchanted_Forest
You'll have an epiphany.
I was especially upset SGU was gone since it was and still is my favourite TV show ever, SG1 and Atlantis don't even come close to it for me. I hope the reboot goes well and that I actually enjoy it, although I'm not expecting anything like SGU.
ReplyDeleteIt will most likely be rebooted on TV sometime anyway.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion an average episode. I was disappointed with season 4a and was looking for a much better 4b. The jury's still out.
ReplyDeleteSome things I loved:
1. Cruella badass
2. Maleficent's return. The last scene broke my heart.
3. Pinocchio's father helping Regina
Now the other side of the medal:
ReplyDeleteRight. While that scene in office between Regina and Henry where they talked about the time Regina felt the happiest - shows that all she's ever wanted is love and a family ... Which makes it all the more tragic how screwed up her life became and the choices she made.
ReplyDeleteBelle & Will(yeah)! Get out Rumple!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was Windows XP with the classic blue taskbar.
ReplyDeleteHey, come on, now. Windows XP isn't that bad. I used it fr nearly a decade until Windows 7 came along.
ReplyDeleteYh it was I realised when James said it below I just didn't bother correcting it, it's been so long since I've seen either of them!
ReplyDeletei can't help thinking the Charming sacrified Lily (who can doubt that she's Maleficent's daughter ?) to test a way to save Emma, because they thought a villain's child is meant to become a villain and so her life doesn't worth anything.
ReplyDeleteShe was screwed from the moment she was born with Cora as mother.
ReplyDeleteWell i guess we know who the big bad would be until the end of the season (and maybe until the end of the series). I just don't get how can they make her the hero first and now they are making the THE Villain.
ReplyDeleteTrue. I suppose that's what makes her such an amazing character to follow: A person with a great heart and a lot of courage who still turns bad - at least for a time. It makes for a great story about humanity and how fragile the barrier is between good and bad.
ReplyDeleteyeah so these SOBs destroyed Will Scarlett
ReplyDeletewho?
ReplyDeleteEmma that's who.
ReplyDeleteI suppose they did, otherwise Maleficent wouldn't have said Snow inflicted the greatest pain on her and that was when she was already evil! No doubt they sacrificed Maleficent's child just to preserve there own child from becoming "a-a -"... "a villain". It' repulsive to think about that the life of a villain's child is less worth then there own. They are such devoted heroes, aren' they?
ReplyDeleteIt's an amazing character.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about that.
ReplyDeleteyes ! they are such devoted heroes, so pure, so self confident and full of hubris that they forgot the most elementary condolence...
ReplyDeleteXP was becoming a drag when it could no longer support newer programs prior to its eventual OS update, at least from how I experienced it. :D
ReplyDeleteMaybe i make a mistake, but Maleficent "swallowed" the "true love potion" before Charming and Snow get married. So before what we saw in this episode (that took place after the Charming honeymoon). And if, having the true love potion in her opened her heart to love and so...to have a child ???
ReplyDeleteEnding scene & Regina's scenes were soooooo perfect. Love it
ReplyDeleteIt makes me want to puke. But we shouldn't forget, Maleficent is just a villain and those things don't equal human beings, at least to a hero.
ReplyDeleteI am not very into religion but watching the episode I had the funny ringing in my head of this biblical quote "Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone." Yet, some people defend them as if they act for the greater good. What might that be? Maybe they evoked the greatest evil because of their selfishness...
Making a Latina character white is pretty bad
ReplyDeletehi Oncer602, actually, i am catholic and i feel for Maleficent because she knows who she is whereas Snow thinks she's better than anyone else and unable to share the most universal feeling in the world !
ReplyDeletePlease, you can read Luke 18, 9-14
Because it's true. That's what they are. They have a significant amount of blood on their hands. The Charmings' biggest flaw is their superiority and inability to recognize their own hypocrisy. Hopefully they go into it more because it's the most interesting part of the Charmings and it gets ignored.
ReplyDeleteI didn't call them murderers. I said David was a killer. He's brutally killed a lot of soldiers doing their jobs because he wanted to commit treason. Was that the right decision or the wrong decision, I don't know.
ReplyDeleteIt's not really time of war either.
ReplyDeleteI think they've confirmed we'll find out what happens to Ana. Hopefully that means Emma Rigby will appear.
ReplyDeleteIt was never really established that LIly was of a particular race, as I don't think the concept does not really apply to the OUAT universe (like Black Rapunzel and an Asian dwarf).
ReplyDeleteBesides, they can easily find an adult version of Lily that's consistent with her initial appearance, dark hair and all. Doesn't have to be blonde, unless...(and I just thought about this now)
What if Snow White switched her baby with Maleficent prior to being born? A little far-fetch but why not, right? :D
OMG, thanks!
ReplyDeleteThey are always boring no matter what
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I assumed that everything from the OuaT-timeline is happening before Will went back to Wonderland... so IMO he will be with Ana in the future... or am I wrong?
ReplyDeleteOh thank you for leading me to this quote, I don't not know this part. That's a good example for the difference between Snow and Maleficient. The one who brags about his good deeds infront of God is not more justified than the one who confesses himself a sinner. "For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted."
ReplyDeleteSnow's self-rightousness felt very wrong.
ReplyDeleteOUATiW current story took place along side OUAT's season 2. It's ending was a flash forward, but the problem is we don't know when the book was written and if Alice kept in contact to know for sure that will and Ana had a happy ending at that time. Another possibilaty is that Emma could of altered something when she went back in time...
ReplyDeleteI also think that until we see Will and Belle officially kiss or profess their love, that it's possible that she's just helping him with his problem with Ana or maybe he discovered something about his sister...
She couldn't swallow it. Love potion was protected by stopper and locked by key, which belonged to Gold. Watch again s01e22, and you'll see.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the plot for this part of the season is connected with the main plot from Season 1. It's really nice to see Maleficent back, Geppeto, but mainly the story of the Dark Curse.
ReplyDeleteBecause it's a trope of fantasy, super hero, science fiction, and or supernatural genres.
ReplyDeleteYes, you 're right, by "swallow" i meant the potion is in Maleficent and i wondered if such a powerful magic might have produced some effect on Maleficent even protected by a golden and locked egg.
ReplyDeleteWe will see. That is my final question.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
ReplyDeleteI dont know, I'm not a hero I don't think like them :P I'm a nice shade of gray, with gray opinions and gray actions.
ReplyDeleteWell. Yes. The odds have been stacked against her. But aside from this undercover storyline being exciting to watch, which I do think it will be, I guess Regina will also learn to believe in herself - that she is actually able to stay good - which may give her some inner peace of a kind.
ReplyDeleteI really wish the OUAT fandom could move beyond really racist statements like this.
ReplyDeleteThey've been wasting Snow now for two and a half seasons so I really hope that that's where they're going. It really should have been the follow up to Snow killing Cora but was dropped because Neverland or whatever they needed to change the storyline to. This is actually the first time I've been excited for anything Snow and Charming in so long.
ReplyDeleteRevisionist nonsense: Snow and David meet Maleficent but what about the egg she swallowed? Emma could be evil but why was Neal so innocent? An enchanted tree of knowledge and yet all but one tree was cut down? Maleficent was killed twice and yet Snow and Charming wronged her worse?(someone has a perverted perspective of worse) Oh and so much for death is death. Call in Billy Crystal, we need Miracle Max. Oh and lets throw in a magic portal as well for the Author.
ReplyDeleteTrue, it is finally interesting. But now that you mention it. Snow did something to Maleficent as worse as Regina did to her: I wonder why she still had a good heart after murdering Cora. Is it just because she believes herself to be innocent and good?
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't know either. For me, sacrificing another one's child for your own can't be heroic. But since s2 I wondered how Snow can call herself a hero that easily, so she might really have another way of thinking. I rather stay gray, too. ;)
ReplyDeleteHopefully. That would finally take some of the bitterness in her current story arc.
ReplyDeleteseriously, who impregnated that? ogres?
ReplyDeleteI will never get tired of Cruella's 'darling'!
ReplyDeleteI hate what they did with Will and Anastasia. I hope they'll provide us with some explanation!
ReplyDeleteI guess that the enchanted forest works just like our world does, and the history is written by the winner... Because I, sure as hell, wouldn't consider Blue or Snow as good.
ReplyDeleteno, thinking ogres impregnated Belle's mother and that is why her memory is missing and the coffin was closed, Mom ran off with an Ogre.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I haven't liked the change in Snow's character this whole season so far.
ReplyDeleteThey need to explain to us why Will Scarlet is back. They need to us what happened to Anastasia.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think that is exactly what's going to happen next.
ReplyDeleteI thought this was the most interesting episodes for the Charmings in a long time. In my opinion, they are usually boring. I was invested in their story for a change.
