Maybe because it just showed the episode for this show...or maybe because this episode was amazing or maybe because Justified is an overall better show (in my opinion).
"You're Never Leave Harlan Alive" keeps playing in my head. There is a reason they have used this song so many times. It applies to so many people on this show.
Great episode. That final scene between Ava and Boyd was one of the tensest I've seen from the show, and it was beautifully acted by Joelle Carter and Walton Goggins. Also am really loving Garret Dillahunt as Ty Walker right now; he's nailing the desperation and unpredictability and vulnerability of the character really well.

I am so glad Boyd finally knows the truth, it has been unbearable since the reveal at the end of last season! But oh god how great are Walton and Joelle? So great. I love the Ava/Boyd relationship but this episode showed just how twisted it can be and you can understand why Ava is always a little reluctant to be with him because of Bowman.
I really hope they can get a happy ending but it seems increasingly unlikely. Unless the show is going to twist the lives of Raylan and Boyd, Raylan right now seems in a better position to be happy in the future but that is only because he has so far kept his head whilst going after Boyd, it could end badly if he gets too involved (and we know cases often get personal for Raylan)
Other great moments, Art vs Avery damn that was some A+ acting, just everything about Ty (I really love the character), Tim's continued snark <3
I agree with you completely! I am glad Boyd finally knows the truth about Ava, however, I did not think it would play out that way with Ava sticking with Boyd and going against Raylan. I thought she would lie her way out of that situation somehow o rRaylan would have come in to save the day.
I hope Boyd/Ava get a happy ending as well. I always try to imagine which relationship/characters will play out the famous song that relates to the show. The one titled "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive" about a coal-digging man finding a woman, leaving Harlan with her, they run out of money, then he has to come back to Harlan to dig coal again to send money back to her until the day he dies. I think it goes something like that, lol.
I still think it could end with Ava out smarting Boyd and Raylan but it seems for the time being she is on Team Boyd.
ahh You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive, I love that many versions that the show has used and yeah wonder if the lyrics will match the fate of any of the main characters.
I loved this episode so much that I watched it again.
Boyd and Ava - what an amazing scene when Ava confesses to being a snitch. Phenomenal acting by Walton Goggins as Boyd, full of suppressed emotion confronts Ava to shoot him, all the while hitting his forehead with his finger.
Favorite moment: As Winona leaves, she kisses Raylan and the shot pans over to the baby looking up at her parents. That gave me warm fuzzy feelings.
Fantastic set-up episode. Juxtaposing the relationship of Ava and Boyd with Raylan and Winona. When all their secrets come out and all baggage is laid out on the table. Seeing Art back in the office with a Marshal stiffie over Avery Markham shows that he and Raylan are not all that different. When Marshaling is in your blood, it's in your blood. Even Winona finally figured that out. And when Outlawing is in your blood, it's in your blood. The stage has been set for the final episodes.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Best episode yet! Very intense and it went to places I didn't expect.

ReplyDeleteAgreed. This season is turning out to be fantastic, which makes me worried for some of the characters.

ReplyDeleteThat is kind of rude going into another show's post to talk promote your own show. Revenge will have its own discussion on Sunday.

I thought Joelle Carter and Walton Goggins had given us amazing scenes through the years but last night's scene was the best I've ever watched.
ReplyDeleteArt and Markham's scene was also great. I kind of hope Art is the one to take out Markham.
ReplyDeleteThat would be really great! Old man vs Old man, I like that Art can't let go completely of the job and keeps poking around.
ReplyDeleteA+ episode. Loved every bit of it.
ReplyDeleteAll the Raylan and Winona scenes. All the Boyd and Ava scenes. Art and Avery scene. And Ty.
Awesome Episode! Loved all of the scenes between Raylan/Winona and Boyd/Ava. I'm looking forward to whats ahead for the final season.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, it will be very sad that this is the final season...

Have you read the postmortems? They're one of my favorite things about this show that I will miss.
