I really liked it. I thought it was very good. And I'll be watching more eps. I like Liv, and I liked the other characters. It really wasn't bad. I liked the whole story of how she became a zombie. And her visions weren't annoying. It was very well done. I can definitely see watching the full season. It's a cute and slightly different twist on the genre.
What a pleasant surprise, I didn't want to check it out for the simple reason the name, but as it has been said what's in a name, I loved the cast needless to say I'll be tuning in each week, terrific start!!!
I was not sure how I would feel about it, but I found it charming and fun. I really enjoyed the pilot!! A nice change of pace from the more dramatic and gritty shows I watch.
It had a nice mix of setting up the story and introducing the characters. Plus, it has that Rob Thomas/ Veronica Mars feel to it! That's always a bonus seeing as VM was a very unique, fun show.... I've been trying to find another show similar to VM for years with no luck. Maybe this will work out for me?
Looking forward to more episodes!
ETA: Cliff! Nice to hear his radio-friendly voice once again!
Thank Goodness Rob is back, a Zombie Veronica Mars..this is going to be fun. Was just sorry that Ty Olsson was just a guest. Loved him as Benny on SPN.
Do we really neeeeed another police procedural? I mean, c'mon! It wasn't awful, you could leave it running while doing something else, I guess. What disappointed me the most was the fact that they managed to use as source(to not say rip-off one of them) both IZombie and White Trash Zombie, and end up with something that doesn't even come close to being as interesting as them. And a lot of shades of Veronica Mars, which I think was the whole premise behind this show, Veronica Mars with zombies. Unfortunately, it wasn't nearly as good. I did like the main actress though, I though she did really well with what she was given.
You can definitely tell that this show has Rob Thomas written all over it and that is certainly not a bad thing! This was like a Veronica Mars 2.0 and it was awesome. Liv has the qualities that made us all fall in love with Veronica in the first place: snarky as hell, quick on her feet, and extremely likable from the start. I was immediately engrossed with Liv right in the first 5 minutes. Not to mention Rose McIver is extremely gorgeous, even as a zombie <3 That scene where she goes up to Major's doorsteps in hopes of giving him a second chance and sees him playing a zombie-killing video game (ouch!) with another girl definitely made me feel for her. Ravi is also already one of my favorites and he's so damn funny/quotable/adorable. I can't wait to learn more about him in the future and get some backstory on him. Overall, I was eagerly awaiting the premiere of this show since it was announced back in May and it did not disappoint whatsoever! Already can't wait to see more. The CW has done it again! Another show from them that I love.
Did not disappoint! Definite VM vibes and that's not a bad thing. The cast is great and I like the balance between drama and comedy. I will keep watching!
Also, where did the scene with David Anders go from the pilot sneak peeks? Did it get cut or is it in episode 2?
I was intrigued by his limited appearance in the pilot flashbacks! - I wonder if the drug he was passing out had anything to do with the zombie breakout? - Liv "witnessing" him chasing down a victim for brains will probably lead to our official introduction to the character next week.
It is a lot of light fun, but there is a definite emotional core to the show! Plus it is witty as well.. The irony of our undead heroine unable to have a normal life being called Liv (a homonym to "live") was amusing to me. :)
Didn't really enjoy it. Rose was great but the show wasn't. And through the entire episode I was just thinking how I'd rather have 666 Park Avenue back (because of Robert Buckley) and have Rose back on OUAT.
Meh. It's a procedural maybe but extremely unique for one. I usually don't go for those either but stuff like Veronica Mars and this... Just a totally different ballpark, you can't give them such a generic label. I thought Emily Owens was a pretty good show for being a medical show which I usually avoid. Maybe it's a CW thing. *shrug*
David Anders was most interest part of pilot with not much given so far, the show is a work in progress, hopefully can get past case of the week format by season end
I really liked the show, but the only problem for me was Liv family and roommate. Wouldn't she better move out if she was so scared for them to learn the truth or fear she'd hurt them?
I wish they cut out the family and roommate nagging all the time.
Thought it was solid and charming pilot ep. Really liked the origin story and cut to the present pacing as well as the little comic page to reality transitions... nice touch. Definitely liked the characters and the set up that (liked the earlier preview mentioned) harkened strongly to Tru Calling.... Definitely worth keeping on the sampling docket, but feel this has a pretty good chance to make the regular rotation
The beginning I felt was chopping. It wasn't paced well in the 1st ten minutes or so. However, once it found its pace, and they gave Liv some level of personality, it really was a very enjoyable show to watch. I'd give it an 8/10 for a pilot. I think it will be a show I will always at least "kind of like" with the chance that it could be a show I love.
While it is a cute show its another procedural disguised as a genre show, rather tired of that. If they were going to go the whole "dead flesh/visions" route would have liked an adaptation of Chew more then this.
I liked it. Liv is a nice no worries character even tho she has problems, feels like she doesn't. Her Family is and friend are alright, not to nagging or prying just enough so to display care.
I also really like Dr Ravi, a really fun ally. Clive wasn't bad too.
I hope to see more of Liv getting a victims personality and behavior in each episode a different mix of character in her.
Well. That was charming. Rose McIver is made for this role. She is a beautiful zombie. The show is light and funny and yet has a strong emotional centre. I loved all the supporting characters. Before the show I thought I would dislike Major. But the dude knows how to act and the small scenes they shared had great chemistry. Love the mum and friend.
Really really enjoyed Ravi and the detective. Both were lots of fun. I can't wait to see David Anders more. I hope more people see it and it get some good ratings.
I've finally just seen this and I'm so happy it was better than all my expectations even though they were really high. I really hope the ratings are going to be as great as the show is.
Weird that it was included in the pilot sneak peeks. Confusing!
Ditto, I was hoping when people said he was in "the last few seconds" that it wasn't that literal! I agree that her final vision was indeed the set-up to his full introduction. He somehow ends up in the morgue so I imagine he soon "dies"
I was thinking he maybe kills someone for their brains and Liv "sees" it and they connect that way, but who knows. I honestly have not paid a great deal of attention to the promos.
This is my first foray with Rob Thomas, which I have to say was mostly an enjoyable experience. There were times though where I thought Liv's personality/voice over was a little too straight forward for my tastes and I thought the African American cop was way too screwy and over the top, but I love the relationship she has with her lab comrade. And also I hope we go back over the events of her transformation a little slower and with more depth in later episodes, seeing that drug plays a major role in some Zombie-making plot!
I'm hoping in time the charming aspects will outweigh the campy and I am really looking forward to seeing more of David Anders' character!! He seems like he would be a good fit here.
Finally watched it was actually better then what i thought, it was different I like the comic book feel of it!!! I can't wait for her to Zombie out more. I hope if does good in the ratings so that hopefully they get a second season and she will accidentally turn some one into a zombie or her family finds out. that would be awesome!!!
It definitely was good and I will enjoy watching the whole season. I am excited to see the next episode and was pleasantly surprised by the pilot. It has a very Psych feel to it to me that makes me giddy as Psych was one of my all time favourite shows. I really hope that they expand and explain how the zombie process works and what there abilities are in this world. I mean the impulses and informtation like kleptomania and romanian language, are they permanent will she now have these skills in the future or do they only last for a certain time. Very intrugued by the idea.
Also thinking about it zombies really wouldn't be widespread if there were only a handful because they would leave their victims without a brain therefor preventing the victim from turning into a zombie themselves.
who the hell is that dumb to rate a show awful that is certified fresh on rotten tomatoes with 90% i am certain all those people did not even watch it.
The trailers had turned me off of this show, but I had decided I would watch the pilot anyway. I fully expected to hate it. I was hooked the moment she started nuking the ramen noodles. It was a lot smarter and thoughtful than I expected. I'm hooked.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Cliff! Nice to hear his radio-friendly voice once again!
I really enjoyed this. Rose McIver is perfect as Liv, I really liked her character a lot.
ReplyDeleteIt was funny and had nice meaningful moments.
Thank Goodness Rob is back, a Zombie Veronica Mars..this is going to be fun. Was just sorry that Ty Olsson was just a guest. Loved him as Benny on SPN.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed it! Rose McIver just pops off the screen, she's perfectly cast.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah. I'm all in. I hope plenty of people tuned in and continue to do so.
ReplyDeleteExactly, that's the great part about the show I got the Veronica Mars vibe throughout, I'm also looking forward to more episodes:)
ReplyDeleteMe too, tomorrow's ratings can't come fast enough
ReplyDeleteShe really is. She favorited my tweet about her must have eaten charisma, because she has it in spades.
ReplyDeleteshe faved a lot of my tweets tonight, which makes me love her more.
I really enjoy it Rose Mciver is great in the role it remind me of Tru Calling mix with Veronica Mars it was quite charming

ReplyDeleteThis was so damn good ! I really likes the chemistry between Liv, her colleague and the cop ! So awesome ! MORE! I NEED MORE !
ReplyDeleteDid not disappoint! Definite VM vibes and that's not a bad thing. The cast is great and I like the balance between drama and comedy. I will keep watching!

ReplyDeleteLoved her as Tink. Sadly now my hopes for her return soon are grim.
ReplyDeleteSame, I was hoping they'd make her a regular after 3A but that didn't happen.
ReplyDeleteMeh. It's a procedural maybe but extremely unique for one. I usually don't go for those either but stuff like Veronica Mars and this... ReplyDeleteI wish they cut out the family and roommate nagging all the time.
The trio were the best part of the episode
ReplyDeleteThey were my least fav part as well.
ReplyDeleteAt first I found them okay or even fun but then it got old fast.I hope they grow on me.... I'm sure the plot will evolve so here's hoping! XD
I'm undecided on this series, but it's not a bad show though. But I did like that Liv had those darker zombie aspects to her as well.
ReplyDeleteThought it was solid and charming pilot ep. Really liked the origin story and cut to the present pacing as well as the little comic page to reality transitions... nice touch. ReplyDeleteSaying 'another police procedural' is really doing the show a disservice. Especially considering the network that it's on.
ReplyDeleteLOVED IT!!!!!!!

ReplyDeletethe intro is love, the intro is life .
ReplyDelete"Hey Dirty Debbie Harry!" - They sold me :)
ReplyDeleteNot the world's greatest but it was entertaining and funny without forced jokes. I hope they can keep up.
Weird that it was included in the pilot sneak peeks. Confusing!

ReplyDeleteOh Wow, you need to pick up Veronica Mars, if you liked this one you will love VM.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the show, much to my surprise. I really like Rose McIvor from her Once Upon a time days and miss her

Quite a fun ride. Liked the Romanian scene .. thatw as quite amusing. Ill follow where this show takes me..
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun and entertaining show. Not the best thing on the CW, but equally far from the worst.
ReplyDeletewho the hell is that dumb to rate a show awful that is certified fresh on rotten tomatoes with 90% i am certain all those people did not even watch it.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a Rob Thomas show. Really love it. Rose McIver nailed it.
ReplyDeleteRomance part made me vomit but overall it was an ok episode.
