But be honest the promo afterwards was funny right
I only caught half of the ep but I heard about nick's blood and I remember say the same thing and to me it explains why both Juliette and Diana are so strong
Okay, I'm new to this show and I'm trying to catch up. My question is could there be more to Adalind's pregnancy that Nick being the father? I ask because Juliette said in this episode that at first she thought she was pregnant because she was feeling ill. Now she thinks her transformation into a hexenbeist was the reason why she felt sick. It can't be a coincidence for Juliette's comment to be made at the beginning and for Adalind to find out Nick's the father of her baby at the end of this episode ... can it? Also, Nick's blood can't cure Juliette, but I'm willing to bet his baby's blood can.
It took what, half a season for Nick and Juliette to find their way back to each other when she lost her memory. Now this! These two need to catch a serious break.
This is how to come back from a break, what a great episode! Adalind clearly loves Nick, which is why they keep getting intertwined, but Juliette being such a powerful hexenbeast now means she is finally an equal with Nick in their relationship. The core actors in this show have such great chemistry, it's lots of fun to watch :-)
So how do these rules work because there don't appear to be any. At least not anymore because they seem to like rewriting them. Does this mean that Nick can't have sex with Juliette ever again because now that she's a hexenbiest his powers will go away again? But will he get them back if he has sex with her again after that? So on/off/on/off type thing? No? My point is that it's ludicrous.
And I love how Juliette's all: you can't even look at me right now. uh..yeah! Look at you! All narly rotting corpse bride and sh*t. Of course he's gonna look away. She has no cause to be indignant, especially when she's just as outraged that she's in that state. So dumb.
Nothing in the episode suggests that Nick's powers will be taken away again the way Adalind did if he makes love with Juliette. But he feels a great unease with the situation he and Juliette are in now.
What's certain is that the show finally established that a blood of a Grimm won't simply cure Juliett because of how she became one so it's going to be quite a joyride seeing where all of this will go.
Was it really that difficult to hide Claire Coffee's pregnancy writers? She hasn't been in a ton of scenes this season it would have been so less complicated and eye roll inducing for the story to just film Claire from the shoulders up and use a body double for far distance scenes. I mean really. I like Grimm I do but if they are going this route not going to lie it's driving me a away from the show a bit. It's so soap operaish and ridiculous and we already have a big plot happening now: Juliette. I echo your sentiments NOOOOO what a terrible plot idea.
So the writers were under the influence then when they came up with this new plot twist? Yes? Because wow that is terrible. It's 2015 so many ways to work around a pregnancy so many shows do it. And Claire still looks super slim especially in the upper body/face so they could have easily filmed her from the shoulders up and used a body double for fight scenes or simply had her character disappear for a while at the end of the season. But nope had to go this route huh. Ugh. I like Grimm and have always watched it but I think this might start pushing me away if they don't do this story really, really well. And I have a suspicion they won't.
OMG - That promo was hilarious! Honestly, I'm looking forward to Nick/Adalind scenes. The two do have this weird chemistry. I also think CC is underutilized - she always stands out. Yep and I think the baby will be cure for Juliette and I bet that's how Adalind gets Diana back. Oh and i have the 8/7 timeslot - not that I ever watch live but seriously - Grimm should be later. If NBC wants 2-hr Dateline than move Grimm to 10.
Well, I liked this episode a lot I loved when nick basically said what everybody was saying in the comments that he would never hurt her, I loved when Henrietta told nick that the blood of a grimm wouldn’t work anymore and finally I loved the scene when Juliette is testing nick, saying that if he doesn’t have a problem with her he should kiss her while in hexenbiest mode (even though it was a sad scene).
WOW! The moments between Nick and Juliette were really sad but OMG the Adalind plot is kind of amusing and i need to see Nick reaction to the news -- it will be hilarious As for the others i love them all!
I was all set to write this ep off as ridiculous silliness the moment my brain went Rabbit...Peter? They did an episode that started with Peter Rabbit and ended with lucky rabbit's feet. And then the ep got really good.
Favorite Moment: "Damn!" Rosalee is fairly awesome! Second Favorite Moment(s): Everything that was Chole. She was awesome.
What surprised me was that I ended the episode not annoyed at this break with Nick and Juliette. It's got me much more interesting than a coma or fake romance. Did love Adalind's reaction to her pregnancy. Expected to be in massive hate of that hole idea. In fact I was when I looked at the promo initially. Didn't experience the hate tonight. But I reserve to right to hate it as the story goes on.
Nick slept with adliland last may, that's almost 10 months now,so why are hearing about this magical pregnancy only now?Does time move differently back there?Come on,writers! And julietter moving out from the house only to move in with Captain-Seriously? Who wrote this episode- i wanna see him/her!
So Adalind is aware that Juliette becoming a Hexenbiest is a side effect of re-grimming Nick. As Renard's mother is even more powerful and experienced, did she probably know about that as well? It would shed a whole different light on her willingness to help. Nick would never have agreed if he had known abot that little detail. Claire had a bit of dialog in this episode, other than "where's my baby", I like that. I don't like however that she's pregnant from Nick. The first scene in the new promo is hilarious, but I wouldn't put it past the writers to do exactly that: pairing Nick up with Adalind and Juliette with Renard. Although I really hope they're not as stupid as that. I still think Henietta has her own agenda and is not telling all she knows. There might still be a way to cure Juliette. Maybe it's time that Rosalee and Monroe learn about her condition. As far as in the end everything is alright again and Nick and Juliette are happy together again, I'm okay with the plot. And by the way, Rosalee once again proved that she's one bad ass woman. I loved how she punched that nurse.
I agree with that. The season 3 finale and season 4 premiere happened at the same day, although in real time there were five months in between. And a lot of episodes happen on consecutive days, so I'd think it's only about two or three months at most since Adalind and Nick slept together. But the thing is that they're ruining their own time line with their annual Christmas episodes. It's like Christmas on Grimm is every five months or so.
Can anyone tell me what is the ranking of the cast members? Obviously Nick is the lead but how does everyone else rank? I am interested to know as I really like Rosalee's character and I often get the impression that she only chimes in on the explanations. I have never counted her words but I always get the impression that Monroe says "Oh yes X creature, I have heard of that but never seen one..." and goes into a long explanation. And Rosalee just says a few words. I liked her more when she had a dark drug experience background as Monroe didn't have anything to do with that or when she deals with the council as that is her sacred duty as the owner of the spice shop.
They could have just kept her covered in that white coat in her scenes. So now does this mean that we are going to have two half hexenbiest half sibling toddlers running around causing havoc....
So sad about that teenager I agree - usually the Grimm deaths are not so heart wrenching. And you are right -- Adalind should open her own fertility clinic.
Monroe's reaction to Rosalee was funny. They are a great couple. And did love the younger rabbity sister stepping up and conking and stabbing that creep with the pole.
Renard's Moma did warn that there might be unknown side effects - I did not get a vibe that she knew more but who knows. I too do not trust Henrietta's agenda.
Awesome episode, always a fan however I really feel sorry for Juliette always the long suffering girlfriend and now this turn of events Nick can't stand to look at her and he sure isn't going to kiss her, and now this mess with Adalind that can't end well, but maybe the baby will help Juliette become Hexenbeast free, I'm here to see whatever the writers have for us!!!
I agree with you, that she seemed genuine and I want to believe that she had no idea what would happen. But if even Adalind knows that Juliette turned into a Hexenbiest because of the ritual how comes Renard's mom had not a clue? She seemed to be far more superior to Adalind in everything. But it was just a thought that occured to me. I guess it was the easiest way to make Adalind realize that Nick is a Grimm again.
I had hoped that Adalind ( and the Prince) would have found out a much harder way that Nick was a Grimm again. Seems like a great missed dramatic opportunity having Adalind deduce it through conversation with Renard.
You're absolutely right, I also think it's a pity that the writers wasted that opportunity. But as Adalind seems to fear Victor, maybe she doesn't tell him, so that at least he's in for a big surprise.
So they finally screw up Nick and Juliette relationship for good now, good job writers. I love Adalind, she is bitch, but she is a interesting character, I know if I like the idea of she become pregnant with Nick's baby, but I hope they know what they're doing with this plot.
I voted awesome as I am currently watching it and Ilove it!!..scrolling down through the comments to see that Adalind is pregnant for Nick ..wth!!!...NOOOOO!!
Fun episode with Peter Rabbit and Chloe the Brown Bunny! XD
Still not exactly sure what is going on with Juliette and Adalind.... I suspect there is a stronger connection between them than anyone is aware due to Momma Renard's spell. Almost like the two are merging into one person - Juliette now having Adalind's Hexenbeast powers and Adalind now having Juliette's pregnancy.
It seems like Henrietta knows more than she is sharing and she enjoys it! XD
I am not normally to sympathetic with Juliette, but turning into a Hexenbeast without having a say in it is tragic. I can't blame Nick for being revolted by her Hexenbeast aspect either... It makes for a tense home life that's for sure!
I'm not sure where any of the plots are headed right now and I enjoy that honestly... The one thing I do strongly suspect is that things are not as set on the paths as they appear. Looking forward to how it all plays out!
I've only visited so I'm not entirely sure myself, but it does feel like Portland has more well-kept historic houses than many cities of the same age.
From what I've seen Portland does have a lot of old Victorian to Queen Anne era historic neighborhoods with house from around 1880-1920 (old for the USA at least). I think most of the houses we see regularly like Monroe's and Nick's are Arts and Crafts or Craftsmen influenced houses noted for their beautiful woodwork etc.. I'm not an architect though...
I'm also thinking Adalind is actually pregnant with Juliette and Nick's baby. Maybe that's the side effect Adalind experiences from the spell. Juliette used Adalind's body to sleep with Nick and became a hexenbiest. So maybe it isn't so far fetched that when Adalind used Juliette's body to seduce Nick, she became a surrogate for Juliette and Nick's child. Nick's baby could be the Grimm that cures Juliette from permanetly being a hexenbiest.
That would certainly be the best case scenario in a horrific situation. If this is how it plays out, I hope Nick and Juliette discover the truth very soon and it isn't dragged out for months like Juliette's amnesia. Adalind carrying Nick's baby would be the leverage she needs to force Nick into telling her where his mother has Diana. She will give Nick his baby if he gives Adalind hers.
They didn't change any rules at all. In both cases specific spells were performed which were require to give and take Nick's powers. It wasn't the sex that did it.
I didn't read Juliette as indignant so much as hurt, scared and realistic. For me that scene was about her forcing Nick to face the reality of the situation. I think is the first to realize that if Nick is in denial about the situation there's no hope for them.
It occurred to me when I read your comment about the teenager is that it fell right into the horror film staple though....you know....sexually active teens never survive these things.
That said I think one of the things I liked about the episode was that plot bits like 'Peter Rabbit' and 'lucky rabbits food' had such an emotional resonance. That guy was happily decimating that family. He was stalking them. I knew he was going to grab her daughter the second she left to get cash and all I could think was....oh my gosh she will lose everyone.
I have been trying to get the timeline clear in my head....cause the timing sounded a bit fishy to me.
Lots of shows use a different timeline than the broadcast timing. (Lost, Teen Wolf) Given that Grimm's started the last two seasons. (Actually I think season two started on the same day as the end of season one too.) on the same day as the season finale we can subtract the months of the summer hiatus.
I completely agree with you about Juliette going to stay with the Captain. She's a vet. She can afford a hotel room.
I loved this episode. Grimm has been off the air for way too long! I liked the Wesen of the week story, but I found it a little more gruesome than usual (because the victim was young and because of the manner of death). it was great watching Monroe and Rosalee going undercover as a couple.
Juliette becoming a Hexenbiest really is a tragic development. for her character. Nick's status as a Grimm has put a lot of people close to him in danger, but no one has paid the price more than Juliette. The repulsionon on Nick's face when she tried to get him to kiss her in Hexenbiest form was just sad. Honestly, I can't blame NIck for his reaction, but I still think found it heartbreaking. I think Nick should take Henrietta's advice and stay away for a while. I don't know what it is about Juliette, but I find her scarier as a Hexenbiest than Adalind, I could see her becoming very dangerous if they don't figure out how to change her back.
So Adalind is really pregnant with Nick's baby. Interesting development (how many months have really passed?) her reaction at the end was hilarious. I see that Henrietta continues to enjoy being the bearer of unwanted news, LOL. Will the baby look like Adalind or Juliette? I'm wondering how Nick will deal with this news. On the bright side, I've always enjoyed the scenes between Adalind and Nick and I'm guessing that we'll finally get more of that.
No, I don't agree with you and James. And my original point was questioning how the rules work because there don't appear to be any or they are inconsistent.
When Adalind first transformed into Juliette last year, there was no mention or indication that the spell she was concocting was for the purpose of stripping a Grimm of his power. What we saw was Adalind whip up a funky and sinister looking potion in the storage locker which she smoked through her witch's hat. This caused her to transform into Juliette. That's all the viewer saw and nothing more was spoken about it.
Adalind as "Juliette" then proceeded to seduce Nick. They had sex and the result was that NIck lost his Grimm powers. The clear implication of this was that it was sex with a Hexenbiest that caused the Grimm to lose his abilities.
This was further reinforced when the spell to undo it all was ultimately for Nick to have sex with "Adalind" which is what he physically did.
Ultimately none of this makes a whole lot of sense because there are holes and inconsistencies all over the place. What we do know is that its been heavily suggested that: Grimm+Hexenbiest+sex=non-Grimm and vice versa.
This is why I asked if Juliette becoming a Hexenbiest for real means that she and Nick can't ever have sex again or would it be as simple and silly as them simply just doing it and undoing it over and over again. Its dumb.
As for Juliette's indignation: yes she was scared and hurt but she was trying to prove a point. She was trying to justify why she went to Renard and not Nick with this first. It was: "a-ha see! You can't look at me! You're disgusted by me!" Sorry prpleight: that's indignation.
Hmm.... you sure? I thought it was orchestrated from the beginning as an attmept to take Nick's powers.
I could have sworn Victor set the whole thing off with Adalind by telling her if she wanted to see her baby again he had one more thing for her to do... Take the Grimm's powers. Then we saw her call Renard and Juliet setting everything up before using the cauldron and hat to cast her transformation spell the final time. Only then did she go to Nick's to impersonate Juliette and sleep with him.
Sometimes it's how different viewers interpret the same material. I did not interpret the sequence with Adalind in the storage locker in the same way that you did. For me, I always saw Adalind turning into Juliette as one piece of a bigger plan. My initial thought was that her goal was simply to drive a wedge between Nick & Juliette's relationship but then it was revealed that the purpose was actually to remove Nick's powers. So for me it was always part of one action...the spell that Adalind did in the storage locker. I saw the approach that Renard's mother took to recreate the spell as baring this out. When she reverse engineered the spell her instructions to Nick and Juliette implied to me that the physical change and sex were, combined, the action required to get him his powers back.
As for Juliette's indignation....I do see your point and agree with you.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Great to have the show back but I echo Adalind's NOOOOOOO. I love Grimm but I hate this idea.
ReplyDeleteYet to watch but is she really pregnant with Nick's baby?
ReplyDeleteAwesome episode! Love that twist at the end. Grimm/Hexenbiest baby!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, DebraFan, unfortunately she is. She remembered that he is the only one she had slept with.
ReplyDeleteWell, that is highly disappointing. Poor Juliette. :(
ReplyDeleteBut be honest the promo afterwards was funny right
ReplyDeleteI only caught half of the ep but I heard about nick's blood and I remember say the same thing and to me it explains why both Juliette and Diana are so strong
Nick cannot even bear to look at Juliette when she turns into a Hexenbiest. Dang the writers.
ReplyDeleteAll of which means that Nick cannot touch Adalind now that she is carrying his child.
ReplyDeleteSeriously the show needs to start giving nick challenging villains like for buffy there was Adem and Gloria and faith
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm new to this show and I'm trying to catch up. My question is could there be more to Adalind's pregnancy that Nick being the father? ReplyDeleteIt took what, half a season for Nick and Juliette to find their way back to each other when she lost her memory. Now this! These two need to catch a serious break.
Yeah but that doesn't mean Juliette won't.
ReplyDeleteThe man-rapist got herself pregnant. I hate this.
ReplyDeleteOn the flipside, I love the fall-out following Nick's discovery about Juliette. :D

I REALLY hate that Grimm is on at 7pm. Yeah, I can record it, but it's just the idea. So wrong.
ReplyDeleteTerrific episode, but again a nice, young teenager is killed. So sad.
David was amazing in that scene with flashbacks. He feels so guilty.

Random question about Portland Houses: Are the houses shown as expensive and rare as I imagine? Henrietta's house seems amazing. (Not from the US).

ReplyDeleteI didn't read Juliette as indignant so much as hurt, scared and realistic.
ReplyDeleteThat said I think one of the things I liked about the episode was that plot bits like 'Peter Rabbit' and 'lucky rabbits food' had such an emotional resonance. That guy was happily decimating that family. He was stalking them. I knew he was going to grab her daughter the second she left to get cash and all I could think was....oh my gosh she will lose everyone.
I have been trying to get the timeline clear in my head....cause the timing sounded a bit fishy to me.
ReplyDeleteLots of shows use a different timeline than the broadcast timing.
That kinda reminds me of how the cancelled HBO series Carnivale was shaping up...
ReplyDeleteThe spawn of both good and evil was destined to face off with the scion of good as the next generation in the eternal war between good and evil.
It still makes me mad when I think of HBO cancelling that show!
I loved this episode. Grimm has been off the air for way too long! I liked the Wesen of the week story, but I found it a little more gruesome than usual (because the victim was young and because of the manner of death). it was great watching Monroe and Rosalee going undercover as a couple.
ReplyDeleteJuliette becoming a Hexenbiest really is a tragic development. for her character.
ReplyDeleteWhen Adalind first transformed into Juliette last year, there was no mention or indication that the spell she was concocting was for the purpose of stripping a Grimm of his power.
Hmm.... you sure?
ReplyDeleteI thought it was orchestrated from the beginning as an attmept to take Nick's powers.
ReplyDeleteAs for Juliette's indignation....I do see your point and agree with you.
