I loved the way they did it. I was nervous about that. They couldn't end it w/o, and i was afraid they do some new version of it or something. But they didn't. They kept Finn in there and i was overjoyed about that.
Omg i cried soooo much woth her acceptance speech! That was so heartfelt. And his face! I was so glad that Rachel was the surrogate for Klaine's baby! That was so sweet.
So teary eyed, that's the end of an era. Except that Sam and Rachel should have ended up together, my own personal ship, I think they did everything they could do in the finale to make us feel really nostalgic. Great job, I loved it, I love this show. I'll miss you!
Goodbye Glee. You were a major pain in the ass, your revolving door of characters was annoying, you managed to piss off every single one of your fans more than once, you kept creating story lines that amounted to nothing, and you created some of the weirdest ships on modern television, but for some reason I kept watching.
Poor Rachel looked like she was about to cry throughout most of the finale as it was (and who could blame her?), so I'm glad she got the chance to finally let some of that emotion out during her speech :D. Regarding Kurt and Blaine-them singing "Daydream Believer" made my Monkees-loving mom quite happy :p. That was a fun moment-my sister called and was like, "Is Mom watching this now?"
The only time i actually started to cry was when Mercedes was saying goodbye. She was trying so hard not to break while she was talking, and then i broke down. And when she exited and zoomed in on Rachel and Kurt i really loved that, b/c they've always been a triple. You know?
I absolutely love that song! So as soon as i heard the intro i was bopping my head ready to sing. lol I didn't think that would be their last duet song. And Sue's speech. My god. I said finally she gets it!!! That made me cry too. (made me think of the Gleetome event they had circling the web).
Omg i can't belive it's over. I mean there were some things i didn't like. But i'm really going to miss the show. And our characters. I'm just so glad everyone got a happy ending.
I am one of those fans that jumped ship years ago but came back for the finale. I thought the finale was really well done and it's been so long since I've cried that much watching something. I cried the most during Don't Stop Believing.
Awwwwwww, yeah, Mercedes. Her voice was shaking and I was like, "No, don't start, you're going to get me going." And yeah, Rachel and Kurt's interactions were great, too-I agree with you on the "trio" thing. I loved Rachel and Kurt's performance of "Popular". I've always loved that song, too :). I'm glad you enjoyed it! And yeah, it was so sweet to hear Sue talking as she did at the end, becoming friendly with everyone. The only thing that worried me about this future was the idea of Jeb Bush being president, LOL! (Now that "Glee" is over, if Jane Lynch can come back to "Criminal Minds" down the line and play Reid's mom again, that'd be great. Pretty please, Jane?) I can't believe it's over, too. My sister got me watching this show-she wouldn't stop raving about the first season, so when I moved back home, I spent the summer marathoning the first season with her, and we started watching together after that. I'm sad to see it end, too. I always get sad when I watch a show's series finale, LOL. But yeah, it had its bumpy moments nad ups and downs, but what show doesn't, right? There was still enough about it to make it special and fun and entertaining, and I'm going to miss it, and these characters. And this was one of my sister's favorite shows ever, so I feel for her now, too. But I'm glad they were able to give everyone a great send-off and proper goodbye.
The first hour of the finale was a flashback to each character joining the Glee club. Finn was mentioned a lot and in the finale scene of the first hour was of Finn, Rachel, Kurt, Mercedes, Tina, and Artie singing "Don't Stop Believing" with Mr. Schuester walking in on hem. The second hour Finn was mentioned a lot again and Sue dedicated the school auditorium in his name.
Oh glee. Hasn't aired where I'm at and can't wait to watch but I just have to say this show was so special to me. I loved it and i looked forward to it whenever i would get home from school even though i liked the club i was in at school. I would talk about it with my friend and we went to a kareoke place to sing just like the characters did. This show also helped me realized that there is nothing wrong in being gay and to accept myself for who i am. The show did go down around season 4 and 5 and i stopped watching ans moved on to arrow (and even thats going down in quality too. Olicity forever). Anyways i decides to watch the final season and it has been good and i will Always remember this show what it meant to me and i will always be a gleek forever. Will miss this show. :'(.
It was minimally satisfying, which is more than I was expecting.
2009 was pretty much completely unnecessary. I'm sure it was a great deal of nostalgia for the cast and crew, but for me, it just felt like hamfisted details that were hardly coherent with what we'd previously been shown. It was nice remembering how much these characters have changed over the course of the series, but I feel like there could've been a better way to do that. The intentional dodging of some characters was pretty awkward. Although, it was great to not only see Matt, but to hear him speak a line of dialogue!
Dreams Come True had some heart-felt moments where it truly felt bittersweet. I just wish it'd been more focused, rather than jumping between wrapping up the present day as quickly as possible, and giving us glimpses at where the principle cast members end up. It should've just been one or the other, not both.
I don't know which I hated more: President Jeb Bush, or Vice President Sue Sylvester...
Kind of annoyed we didn't get an epilogue for Quinn, Puck, Santana, Brittany, and Mike. Glad Sam didn't end up with anyone. Shame Marley and Rory couldn't be there. I loved seeing everyone else, as narratively odd as it was to see Terri and Karofsky in the final number.
7/10 for both episodes.
It was a ride, Glee. A very inconsistent one. I'll do my best to retain the good times we had, and not the times where I simply felt obligated to you. I can't imagine I'll think back on you much, and I doubt I'll rewatch you at any point. However, I must thank you. You had your strong periods where you made me laugh, and your successes at opening my eyes to certain issues, so thank you for that. You did have a role to play in my personal growth. That's what I won't forget. I'll try not to become as self-indulgent as you did.
My only want out of the finale was for Rachel to end up with Jesse. I thought it was most appropriate, plus they are real life best friends and the chemistry shows. I loved everyone's ending but I wish we could have gotten more for puck and Quinn.
It was honestly exactly what I was hoping for. 2009 was a good episode, I really enjoyed seeing a different perspective of the events that took place in the pilot. It was nice to see the roads to the first five's auditions, and what joining the glee club initially meant to them and taught them, especially in a place where they'd continue to grow. Dreams Come True was better, and a perfect ending. Although I wanted to see how other characters ended up, the finale was moving and emotional. I loved how the auditorium was named after Finn, and how McKinley became an arts school. I loved especially the emphasis on seeing the world as it should be.
For me personally, the first season of Glee came into my life at a particularly difficult time and no matter the ups and downs of the quality that the show had seen over these six years, I will always remember the joy it brought to my life, especially the first three seasons.
So I definitely cheated by watching this series finale without having seen really any episodes of the show... other than short clips here and there. I really enjoyed it, made me cry even though I don't know these characters and what they have been through. Was sad to see Cory Monteith even though I didn't know any of his work and much about him, he was certainly a big part of this show. Looking forward to watching some Glee from the beginning.
Yeah i meant to say trio, wtf? Wtf is triple? SMDH I'm tired. But yeah i always loved Kurt and Mercedes friendship. They were sooo close (and she was the first person he came out to) then it was him and Rachel, but i loved when it was all three of them. I especially loved their sleepovers. So yeah the zoom in on them when she exited was symbolic to me. Awww their last duet. = ( sighh.....that was really cute.
I found that entire scene weird. lol I laughed so hard, like i know she wanted to run but i didn't actually think they'd go through with it. That was so cheesy but hilarious. I'm sorry, i don't watch C.M. but i'll root for it to happen for you.
Tell your sister I feel her pain. I remember it like it was yesterday, how they promoted the crap outta the show, and I said, "Ryan Murphy is doing THIS show??" LOL..B/c iI was a huge fan of Nip/Tuck, so iI couldn't imagine him doing this, but iI still wanted to check it out. And i thought they were clever with the way they did it. They premiered it in the summer or right before the summer, then we had to wait til fall for it to start. I thought that was good, b/c the pilot got a lot of people's attention, then to have to wait three months to actually see the series, that just built up tension. So i thought that was a nice touch. And i was hoOKed with the pilot alone.
I'm kind of wondering if the last guyI dated watched this tonight. Lol I got him into the series. We marathoned seasons 1-3 together. But we ended things like two months after that. He told me last summer he was still watching it, iI was actually surprised. I kinda want to call him. LOL but I won't. This show did a lot for me throughout the years. And I stuck with it every step of the way. No regrets. A Glee til the end. And I loveee the characters so much. They really will be truly missed. Okkk, that's it. I can't afford to cry anymore. Haha. But I truly loved their send off. This was my second series to end this year, but this was a wayyyy better finale. (TB screwed up badly iI was not hesitant to say goodbye after that final hour).
LOL, ah, the joys of typing late at night, huh :p? We've all been there. I remember their sleepovers! Aw. Yeah. Those were fun. And I too liked how good of friends Kurt and Mercedes were. Especially considering some of their differences in regards to their religious beliefs or lack thereof. Artie's line about Mercedes leaving the building was poignant, too. That duet was cute-it's great to see that despite them being at odds sometimes and getting so competitive against each other when they were in school, they forged very close, lifelong friendships in the process. That whole scene was very surreal, yeah-but it's Sue Sylvester. It'd be less believable if they ended her story on a NORMAL note :p. She's destined to be the weird presence in their lives for some time, it seems-though I would've loved to see the group's reactions upon hearing she would run for vice president, haha! Oh, the stories they could tell... I liked the sing-off between her and Will, too, and Will's total "WTF?" expressions when Sue was singing the more romantic lines in that song to him :p. Hehe, aw, thanks :)! It's so funny to see her on "Criminal Minds", 'cause her character is so drastically different from the one she played on "Glee". But I love her role on "Criminal Minds", so yeah, if they're able to bring her back, I'll be happy. I'll pass on the message, thanks :). I've never seen "Nip/Tuck", but I remember hearing a lot about that show, and I'd seen all the promos for "Glee" and was curious, too. But I'm glad the way they handled the pilot and the first season worked so well-anything to help drum up buzz, right? Awwww! That's sweet and sad all at the same time! I understand your conflict about calling him about this. I'm glad you were able to bond over the show, though, at least. And yeah, that was how it was for my sister, too. She was in choir in school, this sort of thing was up her alley, and she could relate to a lot of it. And she adored Finn, his character was a big draw for her from the start, too. I liked this show, but it held a particular specialness for my sister. And she was the same way as you-stuck with it through thick and thin. So I don't doubt it's painful to say goodbye. I know I'll feel the same way when my favorite shows call it quits, too. And I'm glad this finale worked much better for you than the TB one did! I know some fans either had crappy finales for their shows or were unlucky enough to not even get a proper wrap up at all 'cause the show was unexpectedly cancelled (and of course, that always seemed to happen with shows that ended on pretty intense cliffhangers, too). So yeah, I'm happy that you and other fans of this show were able to get a good ending that worked :). I don't doubt there'll still be complaints from some fans, 'cause, well, can't please everyone, but still, if it worked for some fans, then yay.
Hun, I'm so sorry to do this you, but I'm going to get back to you. I'm fading fast over here. My eyes can't stay open. But I did read what you wrote, just after I got to the end my brain went into caveman mode. Fire bad. Tree Pretty. (And not a barb at you). I'll reply tomorrow. = )
I gave up on glee when the new kids came in and the older ones went to New York. But I saw the finale. It was beautiful. 2009 made me realize why I liked this series so much. The original characters were the best. Loved the series finale on the whole. I wish Puck, Quinn, Santana and Brittany had more scenes. But every thing came full circle and everyone's career is on the high. What more can we ask for?
So I won't lie. I stopped watching Glee in the middle of the fourth season. It just didn't appeal to me anymore. HOWEVER, I watched "Dreams Come True" because I needed to know how it ended. The episode all in all was beautiful and I was touched by all the cast members they brought back for the final number (in which I was amazed it wasn't Don't Stop Believin', but I Lived was beautiful) and the many tributes to Cory Monteith and his character. The "endings" for all the characters were also incredible from Sam taking over the Glee club to Rachel's well deserved Tony. Heck, I even approved of Rachel marrying Jesse cuz honestly after Finn it seemed like the best choice. All in all, amazing. I'm not sorry I stopped when I did, I don't regret the one's I've watched, and I'm certainly glad I watched the end.
Was Rory Damien McGuinty's character? I thought I saw him walking out with the other winners from his year during the final song. I could be wrong though.
I didn't like how they did not tell us what Quinn, Puck, Brittany and Santana where up to in the future. I mean hello they have been there since the beginning too. I wanted to know their future. Thats why i gave it an ok rating.
Like many, I also stopped watching Glee a couple of seasons ago. However, like a lot of cast members, I also came back for it's final episodes. I thought it was a good way to end the show. It was emotional, but also true to the spirit of the show, as crazy as it sometimes was.
Glee, even though I didn't realise it at first, I will miss you. Thank you for the music.
I feel the same way. They really should have mentioned what happened to them, as well as Mike. I'm really glad Rachel ended up with Jesse though. I always loved them together, even though he was a jerk in the beginning.
OMG i loved it. I also thought the 2009 episode was unecessary bc they could have used that episode to tell what Puckerman, Quinn, Brittney and Santana and many other characters were gonna do in the future. I loved that Rachel had Baine and Kurt´s baby, and I didn´t care that much she married Jessie, and she finally won her well-deserved Tony award, so happy. That final number was awesome with all the actors, and Emma´s face when Will hugged Terry was priceless hahaha I cried a little, can´t believe it´s over :( It´s been a hell of a ride (Seasons 1,2,3,6) and a not so good ride (seasons 4,5) but I´ll miss you Glee. GOOBYE
I would have love to see, or at least that someone said it, what was going on in Quinn, Puck, Santana and Brittany's lives. They just mentioned in the "3 months later" scene that Brittana was living in New York, and the 4 of them were very important on the show. That's my only complain.
I love all the mentions they do to Finn through the 2 episodes. It was sweet and beautiful.
When I heard that Rachel was going to be pregnant with Klaine's baby I thought: no way, I don't like it. But I actually found it adorable, especially Rachel's explanation on why she volunteered. And at the end she wasn't pregnant, so I guess the first New Directions baby had arrived. And she finally got her Tony. I guess that sometimes dreams do come true if you insist.
I was expecting "Don't Stop Believing" to be the final song of the show, after all, it's THE glee song, but "I Lived" fit perfectly.
For a finale, I think it was perfect, if only Ryan hadn't mess up season 4 and 5, it would have be even more of a perfect goodbye.
One of my favorite lines was from Mercedes: "I want to leave the auditorium as if tomorrow I would see you in Glee club and this wasn't really a goodbye." (It went something like that)
Goodbye Glee, thanks for giving me so many life lessons and showing me what you can acomplish everything if you fight for it. And thank you for introducing me to so many musicians and types of music that I wouldn't know of without you. It's been a pleasure.
Just one question: Why couldn't have been the last six years like these final three episodes.
I was gtting tired with the show somewhere into season 4. The season 3 finale would have been the greatest sereies finale ever. But I did stick with it until the bitter end.
The last season made glad it's ending but I must admit that I will miss that people burst into a song in hallways or in the middle of the street. I guess no show will ever be doing this again.
Haven't watched Glee in years but I tuned in for the finale. That was really good, I enjoyed mostly everything but the Sue stuff.
I was really good until the Finn Hudson dedication and ending on the memorial picture but, they got me in the end. My only quibble, I would have liked for the final song to be "Don't Stop Believing". I know it was the final clip in the first hour but I'd have enjoyed a final reprise.
I don't think so "Don't Stop Believing" lost the magic when they sing two times in the previous seasons. I think the series end up simple, but powerful.
Excellent finale, after all the problems I had with this final season and season 5, they close very well the show. I happy to see McKinsley turn to art school and Will as principal, he deserves. I surprise that Rachel end up with pregnant and marriage.
About the episode 2009, was nostalgic, but don't have to much relevance to the story. Now "Dream Comes True" was excellent, my only concern was they not show the New Directions performances on the Nationals (buuuuuu, I want to see the group singing), but the rest was great, the future of the characters was excellent. The final song was great. I will miss Glee a lot.
I won't argue with that. It would've been good to know how they were doing, too. I'll imagine their futures are just as bright all the same, though :).
I wish Artie and Kitty ended up together, I also was hoping to see more of Santana, Brittany, Quinn, and Puck, and Kitty's future but other than that it was really good.
When I look back at all 6 seasons, finished by this amazing finale, I am so glad I didn't give up on Glee. It had its flaws but has also been a real help to me in dark times : it is not something I can say about many TV shows and trust me, I watch a lot of them !
I am happy everyone got the closure they deserved. It was so beautiful.
Thank you Glee, you will always have a special place in my heart.
Hmmmm...I thought he came out with Joe and Unique...come from the back of the stage and come over the stairs to the center of the stage...*shrugs* oh well
Finally got around to watch the finale...Nice close for this little show... I like many here gave up the show after S3, and felt that the best part of the series that I watched was the first half of S1. Despite the unevenness in the writing, the performances were always great and this finale's performances didn't disappoint. The 2009 ep was kinda cool to see the "origin stories of the old core" again, even though it felt like they didn't quite get all the details right -ie. I don't seem to recall that Rachel and Kurt were that friendly in the beginning, but let it go and enjoyed it and especially the way they kept Finn in the forefront as a kind of tribute and to see the "Don't Stop Believing" performance again was great to see. (It was also cool to see Matt come back for his 2nd or 3rd line of dialogue.. lol) The second part was classic Glee - over the top and cheesy, but I loved it... great to see everyone's happy endings, but still would've liked to see even just quick blurbs on what happened to the other alumni, ie: Quinn, Puckerman, Sugar, etc but it was great to see some of the faces that I recall and the others. Thanks for all the entertainment, Glee. Take a well deserved bow....
The same for me, that's when I stopped but thought I'd watch the final. A very well done one, too. Very emotional, despite not having seen it for 2 or 3 years.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Loved

ReplyDeleteThat was a really nice finale.
I wish "Don't Stop Believing" had been the final song but I loved the finale because it was perfect. I'm so glad everyone was successful and happy!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to say. Like i can't believe it's over. I need to pull myself together. B/c i am tearing. I loved it.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing Rachel on stage accepting her award. That was awesome. And Will's face when she gave the shoutout to him...awwwww.

That final musical. http://38.media.tumblr.com/522c941bdb5df7ace27cd98917c70981/tumblr_nd5lhomNRR1rs35hto1_500.gif
ReplyDeleteLOL, ah, the joys of typing late at night, huh :p? We've all been there.
ReplyDeleteI remember their sleepovers! Aw.
ReplyDeleteI gave up on glee when the new kids came in and the older ones went to New York.
ReplyDeleteSo I won't lie.
ReplyDeleteWas Rory Damien McGuinty's character? I thought I saw him walking out with the other winners from his year during the final song. I could be wrong though.
ReplyDeleteI didn't like how they did not tell us what Quinn, Puck, Brittany and Santana where up to in the future. I mean hello they have been there since the beginning too. I wanted to know their future. Thats why i gave it an ok rating.
ReplyDeleteLike many, I also stopped watching Glee a couple of seasons ago. However, like a lot of cast members, I also came back for it's final episodes. I thought it was a good way to end the show. It was emotional, but also true to the spirit of the show, as crazy as it sometimes was.
ReplyDeleteGlee, even though I didn't realise it at first, I will miss you. Thank you for the music.
I feel the same way. They really should have mentioned what happened to them, as well as Mike. I'm really glad Rachel ended up with Jesse though. I always loved them together, even though he was a jerk in the beginning.
ReplyDeleteOMG i loved it. That final number was awesome with all the actors, and Emma´s face when Will hugged Terry was priceless hahaha
ReplyDeleteI cried a little, can´t believe it´s over :( It´s been a hell of a ride (Seasons 1,2,3,6) and a not so good ride (seasons 4,5) but I´ll miss you Glee. GOOBYE
I would have love to see, or at least that someone said it, what was going on in Quinn, Puck, Santana and Brittany's lives. They just mentioned in the "3 months later" scene that Brittana was living in New York, and the 4 of them were very important on the show. That's my only complain.
ReplyDeleteI love all the mentions they do to Finn through the 2 episodes.
ReplyDeleteI was gtting tired with the show somewhere into season 4. The season 3 finale would have been the greatest sereies finale ever. But I did stick with it until the bitter end.
The last season made glad it's ending but I must admit that I will miss that people burst into a song in hallways or in the middle of the street. I guess no show will ever be doing this again.
Yeah, Rory was Damian McGinty. I'm pretty sure he wasn't there. Joe and Sugar were definitely there, though.
ReplyDeleteFantastic, it was everything I was expecting to see from Glee and I really loved the final songs and performances.
ReplyDeleteNo Marley, Rory, Myron, or any of the Warblers whom merged with New Directions.
ReplyDeleteHaven't watched Glee in years but I tuned in for the finale. That was really good, I enjoyed mostly everything but the Sue stuff.
ReplyDeleteI was really good until the Finn Hudson dedication and ending on the memorial picture but, they got me in the end. My only quibble, I would have liked for the final song to be "Don't Stop Believing". I know it was the final clip in the first hour but I'd have enjoyed a final reprise.
Well, just cried like a baby. SO PERFECT.
ReplyDeleteI don't think so "Don't Stop Believing" lost the magic when they sing two times in the previous seasons. I think the series end up simple, but powerful.
ReplyDeleteExcellent finale, after all the problems I had with this final season and season 5, they close very well the show. I happy to see McKinsley turn to art school and Will as principal, he deserves. I surprise that Rachel end up with pregnant and marriage.
ReplyDeleteAbout the episode 2009, was nostalgic, but don't have to much relevance to the story.
Now "Dream Comes True" was excellent, my only concern was they not show the New Directions performances on the Nationals (buuuuuu, I want to see the group singing), but the rest was great, the future of the characters was excellent. The final song was great. I will miss Glee a lot.
P.S: I miss Melissa Benoist in the finale :/
"I was gtting tired with the show somewhere into season 4."
ReplyDeleteMe too, but I will watch the finale.
LOL :D.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's okay! Reply whenever you're able to. Sleep is good and important and whatnot :). Hope you got a good night's sleep!
I won't argue with that. It would've been good to know how they were doing, too. I'll imagine their futures are just as bright all the same, though :).
ReplyDeleteGood show, great songs. I will miss it
ReplyDeleteI wish Artie and Kitty ended up together, I also was hoping to see more of Santana, Brittany, Quinn, and Puck, and Kitty's future but other than that it was really good.
ReplyDeleteWhen I look back at all 6 seasons, finished by this amazing finale, I am so glad I didn't give up on Glee. It had its flaws but has also been a real help to me in dark times : it is not something I can say about many TV shows and trust me, I watch a lot of them !
ReplyDeleteI am happy everyone got the closure they deserved. It was so beautiful.
Thank you Glee, you will always have a special place in my heart.
Can anyone tell me what song will sang? Does anyone else think that was a Finn tribute?
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...I thought he came out with Joe and Unique...come from the back of the stage and come over the stairs to the center of the stage...*shrugs* oh well
ReplyDeleteFinally got around to watch the finale...Nice close for this little show...
ReplyDeleteThe same for me, that's when I stopped but thought I'd watch the final. A very well done one, too. Very emotional, despite not having seen it for 2 or 3 years.
