While I still thought this a great episode, it was probably one of my least favourites. The constant sense of shock and intense drama this show has been delivering week after week felt slower this episode. However, the final stand off between Eleanor and Vane was awesome. "You will hear from me again" was a chilling last line from him to her. I personally cannot wait for that moment!
I absolutely loved this episode. Not much in terms of action but full of deception and betrayal.
MVPs of the episode: Billy Bones and Silver
What a game Billy played!! I did not see it coming at all. Poor Mr. Dufrsene was played like a chump. The horrors at the hands of the English have convinced Billy that there is no other way than sticking with Flint. Another really admirable thing about him is that he was not satisfied with 10 pardons. He still strongly holds on to the Pirate Brotherhood oath and felt that all the members of the crew deserved pardon, not a chosen few.
Most Cunning person: Silver. He is playing a very dangerous game by betraying Flint. But the plot for the Urca gold just got even more twisted and awesome. Now, will Max cobble together a crew pf her own or will she seek the help of Jack Rackham? Will the secret be safe or word of this betrayal reach Flint's ears?
Small note: All these events tie in nicely with what we learn about Flint in Treasure Island. He trusted Billy until his last breath and he never trusted Silver. We can assume why it was so. Silver is an opportunist to the very end. Billy is honorable and loyal to the very end.
Eleanor: She burned her bridges with Vane. About time.
Hornigold and Dufresne: I think they are the ones who are going to kidnap Eleanor's father at the very end on this episode. For what purpose? In exchange for Abigail so that they ransom her for money? Or is there another purpose to go after Richard Guthrie?
Only boring aspect of this episode: Anne Bonny. I hope Jack reconciles with her soon.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Really good episode, great character interactions all around. Really looking forward to hiw everything plays out.
