That was a terrible promo :P I couldn't hear like 80% of what they were saying (that might have might have been just for me though), the music didn't fit and the acting was terrible. I'm still gonna try it though, there were definitely some interesting things in there.
Oh that looks bad.... it's like... it's not campy fun like Hercules and Xena, were... I think it's trying more for the Spartacus approach, but the CG is worse and the acting looks atrocious.
Did they steal those green screens from the OUAT in Wonderland set and made them worse? AWFUL CGI, bad acting + trying to hard to be like Spartacus. Not even gonna check it out.
This looks like it was made very cheaply in the 90s but even then that is kind of an insult to shows of that era. Bad acting, terrible trailer (music too loud) and even if the CGI isn't finished it doesn't inspire much confidence.
Have you read American Gods? Because I dunno what exactly they're doing with the TV show for that but the book doesn't have that much Greek mythology in it...
I haven't. And thanks for making me check the premise of AG again because I had forgotten what it was actually about, lol. I just assumed it was focusing on greek mythology but I'm still more interested in AG than this.
Looks alright, I'll check it out. People are commenting on the CGI and the acting but I always thought the acting on Spartacus was over-the-top and ridiculous, but to me that's part of the appeal of these types of things. The trailer itself? Not good. The music is overbearing, you can only understand about half of the dialogue.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Ooh, I am really excited for this! Can't wait for the premiere.
ReplyDeleteA feeling that the whole episode was shot on chromakey

ReplyDeleteLooks promising although the scenes involving greenscreens needs a little more polishing.

ReplyDeleteI will check out the pilot since Syfy sent the screener but don't really see myself watching this show.
ReplyDeletewow it looks really cheap and the acting seems bad...
ReplyDeleteThis might not be the final cut, but the CGI looks really cheap.
ReplyDeleteThe music was too loud.
ReplyDeleteAh, good to know it wasn't just me.
ReplyDeleteLooks a bit lame. Makes me miss Spartacus Blood and Sand.

If it is not the final cut they should've waited because the cgi in the promo is awful

ReplyDeleteThis one looks far more interesting then Atlantis ever was especially on how the second season of Atlantis ended up.
ReplyDeleteI have to wait for American Gods To get my Greek mythology fix.

ReplyDeleteWell it's based on a Neil Gaiman book. Anyone in their right minds should be more interested in AG than this, by default.
ReplyDeleteI literally laughed out loud during some scenes. Amateur hour!!! The CGI was worse then that boat scene from Ringer.
