This news is NONSENSE. You should at least change the title.

  3. They're currently casting a role for episode 2 of season 5. It's been quietly renewed.

Well then, they should use this as a proof, not a picture from someone who didn't even mention "season 5".

  5. "First picture from the set of New Girl Season 5"

  6. Seriously? It just doesn't make sense given the bad writing and the low ratings.

  7. The ratings are low in 18-49 but New Girl does extremely well in W18-34.

  8. Are we reading the same post?

  9. 1. Quality of writing has zero to do with renewal prospects. What is more, your opinion on the quality of the writing has even less influence on it! In fact, it is totally irrelevant.

    2. In A18-49, New Girl is performing at 85% of FOX's comedy average which is perfectly fine for a 4th year show. In addition, New Girl is the 9th highest rated comedy on broadcast television this season on the premium group of A18-34. None of these things qualify as low ratings.

  10. It's about as official as you can get as they are filming Season 5 ;) and casting for Episode 5.02 ;)

  11. That's good news, but I think Winston is too weird compared to who he was when he was first introduced in the second episode of the first season!

It is NOT what is written on the Instagram post of this woman! It is written "laurenferezy

Sorry I snuck on set and made you take a picture with me during lunch @lamorne ☺️ #newgirl"
I don't see any mention of season 5 here.

  13. Well they are filming Episode 5.01 now, so it's a safe assumption that a set photo is from 5.01.

They are also casting for 5.02.

  14. Not surprised. It was a certain renewal for syndication purposes, and I know they're filming Season 5 early down here in California.

  15. Final season perhaps? I hope things look up for Mindy Project even if it's not owned by Fox.

  16. New Girl somewhat recovered in the ratings department. It didn't crash and burn the way it did last season.

  17. Sometimes, people don't always post the same message twice for two social media platforms, especially if the tweet came first before the Instagram post.

And we know Twitter don't exactly have a share feature similar to Instagram where it is the other way around.

  18. Good news. The show has vastly improved in S4 and is on a roll.

  19. Nice!!! Season 4 has been great. I've been enjoying it.

  20. Ya,my comment was for the skeptical fans.

  21. Yes! This season has gotten back to the good days of New Girl!

  22. This show has lost its magic alredy. I hope the 5th season gets it back.

    ReplyDelete
  23. It's also getting pretty close to the possibility of syndication. To cancel it now means they forfeit making money off of a syndication deal in the future. Same deal with The Mindy Project.

  24. Good!!!! This season has been good.. can't wait for S5

  25. Too bad there's no more Coach next season :(

  26. This season has been a major improvement to last season so I'm happy it will be coming back again.

  27. A 4th year show not inflated by the NFL, too.

    ReplyDelete
  28. It could be argued that it is not official since FOX did not officially renew it.

  29. TV Media Insights, they post them every day.

  30. YAAAAAAAAAAS! I need more Jessica Day in my life.

PS.- Now I'm gonna sit here and expect Dr. Sam's show to get renewed. *dies*

  31. Only 88 episodes are required for syndication. That's not why the show was renewed. It already has more than enough episodes for syndication. I just think FOX likes it. I have to say the quality of writing has went down hill this season. And I'll never understand why the writers broke up Nick/Jess...a couple that created a lot of buzz for the show. Now, this show gets no buzz and no media attention and has low ratings....

  32. Good news! Now Renew Mindy!

  33. It's looking like About a Boy will be cancelled. :(
