It's been almost 9 months since this was ordered to series and they felt the need to change the title now after they have already released a bunch of posters and promos?
I don't know. I really don't believe a girl can survive in Saudi Arabia while being hunted. They already have strict rules like when going to eat in a mall you need to be with your family. Girls are not allowed to drive and dress codes.I just find it unrealistic. Her survival rate is almost close to none.
I want them to do a reality show based on the decisions made daily at 30 Rock.
I really don't know what makes the network go, you know what's a great idea, changing the name one month before airing! Because that will help the show succeed.
Probably; that's always the first thing thing I thought of when I saw the title. However, I am quite puzzled as to why they are just ding this now, since it was picked up nearly a year ago and is going to be airing soon.
That part of the show takes place somewhere in North Africa not Saudi Arabia. Watch the trailer she is not driving a car, she has help from a teenage boy, she wears a disguise, and she is an American soldier etc.
TV titles with the "Americans" on it have been quit successful lately to say the least. I mean American Horror Story, The Americans, American Crime now on abc, can't blame NBC for trying to cash in. lol
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Lol, ABC.
ReplyDeleteWhy o why, NBC?
ReplyDeleteBecause they don't want American audiences thinking it's an adaptation of the Ulysses' Odyssey?
ReplyDeleteNBC is one interesting network.
ReplyDeleteThat's a possibility. I liked Odyssey better though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good laugh today NBC!!
ReplyDeleteIt's been almost 9 months since this was ordered to series and they felt the need to change the title now after they have already released a bunch of posters and promos?
ReplyDeleteAnd they only thought of that now?
ReplyDeleteIt's NBC. What did you expect?
ReplyDeleteRidiculous, Odyssey was better. Not liking the new title.
ReplyDeleteSame here.
ReplyDeleteThe Odyssey would have been fine, but putting American in front of it doesn't sound right.
ReplyDeleteExactly. I have no idea why NBC did this.
ReplyDeleteNow they decide to change the title....
ReplyDeleteI think the National Bandwagon Channel is trying to appeal to the American Sniper fans lol.
ReplyDeleteMTE.
ReplyDeleteI guess they are just doing this to try to get American Sniper kind of viewers to the show. Can't think of any other reason.
ReplyDeleteExactly what I thought.
ReplyDeleteHopefully this won't confuse people.
ReplyDeleteIt probably will.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it will, but you never know. The American Public can be very stupid at times.
ReplyDeleteThey gave it a big push during Superbowl and now when they don't "Odyssey" on their TV guides, they will surely be confused.
ReplyDeleteAlso I'm not happy with the advertising from NBC. Those short teasers were really stupid and I don't see enough advertising on NBC as well.
ReplyDeleteLoL,yep!
ReplyDeleteI don't like it. American on the title seems really unnecesary, it makes it so... unnecesarily patriotic
ReplyDeleteI have thought about was one of the worst. But less than a week, here it comes!

ReplyDeleteWhen are they going to announce it's not airing on Sundays at all? It's needed elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteABC is crazy

ReplyDeleteOr The Voice Odyssey.
ReplyDeleteThat's the point.
ReplyDeleteHeroes Odyssey
ReplyDeleteThe thing is... I don't think most American are even familiar with the original work.
ReplyDeleteOh NBC, you never fail to surprise me
ReplyDeleteAre they gonna rename their sniper miniseries to American Reaper as well?
ReplyDeleteThat part of the show takes place somewhere in North Africa not Saudi Arabia. Watch the trailer she is not driving a car, she has help from a teenage boy, she wears a disguise, and she is an American soldier etc.
ReplyDeleteDont think the show is patriotic though.
ReplyDeleteOh ok I only saw what looked like a desert so I thought it was somewhere in Middle East.
ReplyDelete*facepalms*
ReplyDelete#AmericanOdelleLives!

ReplyDeleteNBC.
Like that will change anything!
ReplyDeleteClassic NBC(Nothing but crap except-Hannibal).

ReplyDeleteThat's never not relevant!
