Thanks to nuno cardoso for the heads up
The most discouraging thing about the Terminator franchise is trying to wrap your head around all the crazy loops in its time-traveling narrative. The biggest hurdle Terminator Genisys has to jump is making cinematic sense of the scrambled Terminator narrative in a way that doesn't require handing out pamphlets to movie goers before they enter the theater - and preferably not have a character give a 5 minute voice over lesson during the opening credits.

no No NO !!!
ReplyDeleteDaniel Bryan Chants YES! YES! YES! lol. I love that twist and makes perfect sense after all
ReplyDeleteI knew this would suck the moment I found out a t800 would raise Sarah Connor, but this is just... too much. Now it's not only in my straight-to-bluray-list, it just went right to the bottom too.
ReplyDeleteIt was kind of already at my straight to bluray watch list with outcome of last film. This news is not helpful in changing that at all to me.
ReplyDeleteNot sure why people are so negative on that, it`s a neat twist. In fact I hate myself a little for having read this
ReplyDeleteI agree, I'm actually quite liking his
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen any of the other Terminator movies so none of that makes any sense to me :P The trailer just looked awesome other than Arnold Schwarzenegger but I know he's like iconic to the franchise.
ReplyDeleteIt's starting to be odd seeing him in the films now to me, but hed probably be difficult to replace for the reasons you mentioned.
ReplyDeleteYh he looked out of place to me in the trailer. Didn't the last movie not have him in it though?
ReplyDeleteIt was like a single scene, but I'm not sure if it was really him though.
ReplyDeleteThe number of reboots/rehashes/unnecessary sequels/prequels is so infuriating.
ReplyDeleteThey CGI'd his face from the 80s onto somebody else's body.
ReplyDeleteI do not know the only reason I will see this movie is because Matt Smith is in it that's it who cares of the messed up stuff that is going too happen.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a potentially interesting twist on things. I'm hopeful for the movie, although I am a little wary of it, I know I will undoubtedly see it and hope the best for it!
ReplyDeleteyeh, stuff like spiderman reboots is getting out of hand.
ReplyDeletethat would the most IDIOTIC thing to happen!!!!!!!!!!!! just renew TSCC!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteEh... Whatever... I'm coming in with the bar set so low it doesn't even really matter to me...
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who thinks that plot twist can actually work? I mean, to a point John Connor would have to end up being corrupted or even killed if this continues to happen with him sending a Terminator to protect his mother. Sooner or later the dark universe will pop up and this new trilogy could portray it. It's different, but you need to do something different after a couple of really bad films in the franchise.
ReplyDeleteExactly John Connor can try all he wants to resist the darkness but sooner or later the darkness will consume him. Besides Skynet must of realized that if they can't beat him let him join them lol.
ReplyDeleteI have never been confused by the timey wimey time travel elements of Terminator. However, the ridiculous approached mentioned in this article made my brain explode. How does someone's past get changed and they're unaware of it? Seriously. This has got to be from draft number 4 out of 10.
ReplyDeleteEvil John Connor could make for a fun story. But rather than trying to explain it through some bizarre twist...I'd just set the story in John's adulthood after all of the previous mucking about (by which I mean previous terminator visits.) and perhaps send someone (Reese sent by a different person) sent back to fix John.
ReplyDeleteThere will always be possibilities when it comes to time travel. I'm surprised this idea hasn't been thought of yet.
ReplyDeleteI think it was their vision all along but didn't think they tell the story but now they can lol
